D was still giggling when they went for the helicopter.

D took some time to go back to be more serious.

"Ok, the next mission is about to recover that bastard of Huey. He is responsable for the attack, 9 years ago. He is in Serak Power Plant. Bring a RPG-7, we are going meet an enemy Hind gunship and Sahelanthropus."

Venom listened D and nodded but wasn't able to hide his disappointment.

Snake was starting losing trust on that weird person.

Then D told Quiet to come with them.

Kaz shouted.

"No way! You and that woman will kill the Boss at the first occasion."

D remarked.

"Even Ocelot will agree that she is useful asset and will encourage the Boss to take her on missions. With her skills and my intel and support, our small team will be unstoppable. He will also say that he will send someone to watch them over in the distance. Well, I can do it, even closer. Beside Quiet chose me as her bodyguard."

Ocelot agreed but pointed out.

"We had a deal. Now intel about her."

D started to tell.

"As already told you, she breaths through her skin. She also drinks from her skin."

Ocelot and the other Diamond Dog's leaders were listening carefully.

"Her superpowers include : turning invisible, superspeed, healing, strenght... not to mention she is a pretty good shot."

D was preparing a joke.

"As for her diet. She eats babies, kittens and chicks. Alive."

Ocelot gave him a stern stare.

"Seriously, kid."

And with a serious expression D replied.

"Of course not. She do photosyntesis."

Ocelot continued with his stare.

"Seriously. Like your old friend The End."

Ocelot remembered the old sniper that Naked Snake fought in Tselinoyarsk during Operation Snake Eater, 1964.

Ocelot asked the last question.

"From where she comes from? You said you had a theory."

D answered his question.

"She is probably American or Dutch. But her accent is difficult to pinpoint to a specific country. Kinda like mine."

Ocelot agreed.

D's accent was weird. It sounded nothing like any accent known. It sounded a bit of artificial, like a mix of different accents. Maybe it was just a way to hide it.

But Ocelot quickly realized something.

"You said she have an accent. So she can talk..."

Quiet felt scared but kept a neutral expression.

Fuck! He sold me! Bastard.

D moved his head, side by side.

"She HAD a accent. She lost her vocal cords in the past. I don't know when. Years or decades even. I just know that she had such an angelic voice that could melt even a heart made of stone. Remember I know your past..."

Ocelot accepted his justification.

Quiet was relieved.

He just overtalked.

D was about to get on the chopper but saw some Diamond Dogs with signs and spray can in their hands.

D reached them and asked.

"What are you guys doing with them?"

"We are putting them near that woman's cell."

D's face was closer to the merc and with an angry expression.

"Put the spray cans away. You don't need them. Unless you want to write what you think about her. Freak, witch, etcetera. Lemme tell you. If I see a sign with insults written on it, I'm gonna beat you up with the sign, making you eat the paint and stick the empty can up your ass.

You guys probably wondered why I was so calm to be around her, happy even. You think I'm crazy. Maybe you are not wrong. But hey, I talk and offer you beer, so I can't be more freakier than her, right?"

He got on the chopper with Venom and Quiet.

D was happy that Quiet was holding his present, the VSK Vykhlop sniper rifle.

D briefed the presents, pointing the locations on Snake's iDroid map.

"Althought Huey called from here; the Serak Power Plant, his actual lab is here. Afghanistan Central Base Camp. While extracting Huey, Snake will face a totally innovative weapon. ST-84 Metal Gear. Codenamed Sahelanthropus."

Snake remembered what D told him, missions before.

D nodded.

"Yes. That giant walking robot that you met in Smasei Fort. The hands were designed by the Soviet cybernetic scientist we extracted. Is powered by that floating kid with psychic powers."

Venom studied the map.

D asked.

"So how we proceed, Boss?"

Venom said.

"Provide me with cover."

Both D and Quiet nodded.

D added.

"Okay, after you reach Emmerich, me and Quiet will reach the extraction point. Don't worry, there is a special Walker Gear that will provide firepower and a quick getaway. And don't forget to extract the A.I. pod, we will need it for the "trial". That bastard will pay for his deeds sooner than expected."

During the trip D stared Quiet but she was indifferent.

Sorry, I have to look professional.

D started daydreaming, while watching Quiet with googly eyes.

He imagined a date with her. Holding hands during a walk in the park. Or watching a movie at the theater. Or at the gun range.

Then he realized that he needed to focus.

If he wasn't careful, they could have snatched her, any time.

The chopper reached the LZ and the team jumped off the helo.

Venom was leading the way.

Quiet and D were following him.

Snake reached the power plant and ordered Quiet and D to take care of the enemies.

The power plant was located near the top of a mountain, and was full of transformers and power cables. Two buildings. One on the right and the other near a huge red gate.

The snipers started shooting.

But that was no problem, because their rifles were integrally suppressed.

D used the VSS that Quiet refused.

When the outpost was cleared, D radioed Venom.

"Proceed to the gate, there is a open door nearby. That leads to a cave. In the cave there is both that scientist and the Metal Gear."

Venom was wrong about D.

On the field he was an excellent soldier.

Venom procedeed into the cave and saw what D told him.

Plus Skull Face.

Emmerich and Skull Face were discussing about Sahelanthropus.

Emmerich was a scientist specialized in robotics, AIs and general mechanic. He was quite handsome, but he had a problem with his legs. Because of his twisted spine, he needed an exo-skeleton to walk.

While Emmerich was handsome, the man known as Skull Face was the opposite. His visage was completely disfigured by scars caused by a fire during his childhood. While he was a bit ridiculous since he was wearing a black cowboy outfit and a Lone Ranger style mask, he could still strike fear among the people that saw him.

A XOF soldier told Skull Face was the doctor had contacts with Big Boss.

Skull Face threw Huey down the stairs.

The scientist soaked himself.

After scolding Huey, Skull Face ordered his men to take him to the base.

The men did as told and with a Walker Gear, they took him away.

An enemy Hind was coming to the plant.

D was about to take a FGM-148 Javelin from his backpack, but the chopper started spinning and crashed on the ground.

It was because Quiet shot the helicopter pilot with her high caliber rifle.

Boom, and then straight trought the canopy.

Quiet was on the ridge on the opposite side but quickly reached D, and pointed at the magazine of her rifle.

I need more ammo.

D grabbed three magazines, gave them to Quiet, then they went to the huge Soviet base.

Again, Quiet dropped another Hind, but this time was less impressive.

The base was now alerted.

While D was worried, Q wasn't and she shot all the soldiers that she could see.

By the time Venom reached the base, all the enemies were dead.

Snake proceeded with caution anyway, towards the point that D marked on the iDroid map.

D radioed Venom.

"Boss, while you make contact with Emmerich, we will proceed to the extraction point."

D called Pequod with the iDroid.

Then radioed Quiet.

"Can you give me a ride, Quiet?"

What? Why? Oh, my speed! We will reach the extraction point quicker, if I carry you.

As soon as she came, D jumped on her back.

Quiet was strong enought, so D's weight didn't annoyed her a bit.

Quiet started running as fast as she could.

D was having quite fun, like a little kid.

The helicopter was almost landed but Quiet reached it with a jump.

D took a EMP grenade from his backpack and ordered Quiet.

"When I launch it, shot it towards the giant robot."

Quiet nodded and got her rifle ready.

The A.I. pod broke the roof's window and flew away.

Venom was coming, riding Emmerich's Walker Gear and carrying the scientist.

But as soon as he was away from the base, Sahelanthropus fell from the sky.

It was a huge gray military robot. It stood on two legs, giving him a humanoid appearance, that his hands completed. Is cockpit looked like a face, especially since there was a skull motive painted over it.

It was terrifying.

Skull Face was standing on the mech's hand with Tretij Rebenok floating on his side.

Skull Face taunted both Venom and Huey, before escaping away on a XOF Blackhawk.

As soon as Skull Face's helo was away, D threw the grenade and Quiet shot it.

The grenade exploded in a electromagnetic pulse and fried Sahelanthropus's electronic components.

Pequod's chopper lowered, enought to allow Venom to jump on after throwing the scientist on board.

Huey tried to look the black clad soldier and the half naked woman but D punched him.

"Don't say a world, asshole."

Quiet looked at him.

Why?

D looked Quiet into his eyes and told her.

"This man is responsable for an attack on the previous Mother Base in the Caribbean Sea. A lot of MSF soldiers died. What he will do in the future will be even worse."

D looked the fainted doctor.

"But we prevented them."

Venom was happy to hear that.

Huey was blacked out during all the returning trip to Mother Base.

He woke up in Room 101, Command Platform 1, Warehouse 1.

D was talking with both Ocelot and Kaz.

"Is useless to interrogate him. Even the truth serum won't work. Is lying to everyone, especially himself. I have already all the intel that you need. Cypher research for a "weapon to surpass Metal Gear" is in Africa. Angola-Zaire border region to be specific."

Huey was regaining his senses back, and looked Quiet, which was close to D.

Quiet looked back at Huey but with indifference, before she resumed looking her protector.

Huey was perplexed. That woman looked beautiful and had an aura of mistery.

D warned the people in the room.

"Don't let him have electronic equipment. He will build a home-made radio to contact Cypher. And never let him manage the equipment of the Quarantine platform. He will build beta rays emitters with horrible consecuences."

Venom replied.

"Quarantine platform?"

D confirmed Venom's thoughts.

"Yes, Cypher. New weapon is biological. I will show you it."
