AUTHORS NOTES
Hey everybody, sorry it has been a while, life got busy. Anyways I haven't given up on this story, though I know it may look like that. I have been editing the previous chapters while writing this one. I am still editing but will continue to post more chapters as I figure this stuff out.
Chapter 5
The was no noise, I mean none at all.
That was the first thing I realized when I regained I woke up. To say it was unnerving was an understatement. Even when I was a kid there was always noise when I woke up. The wind outside, Yang's snoring, even the sizzling of breakfast could be faintly heard from upstairs.
But nothing was greeting my ears as I came into the waking world. No smells either, the space around felt empty and sterile. Even with my eyes still closed I could feel a large amount of empty space around me.
Slowly I started to open my eyes being slightly blinded by the whiteness that greeted them. Blinking a few times before managing to open my eyes. The light faded a little as my sight focused and I could make out that it was coming from a single overhead bulb.
I appeared to be in a square room that held only the bed I was sitting on and a desk that was built into the wall. There also didn't seem to be a door to enter the room either. No that wasn't right, there was a door but it looked like one that would have been on a bullhead, or airship. Well, they were also in the Atlas government buildings.
I would have thought that I was in Atlas academy but the grey color of the walls didn't match the amount of white that was used in the school. So where was I, it's not like I could have gone far after fighting Salem I was spent.
But wait didn't Salem die to that robot.
I bolt up from the spot I occupied on the bed before rushing to the door. Scrambling I found a control panel that was located to the side. Then proceeded to hit every button that in a panic. Which was fueled by the fact that I didn't recognize the language.
After failing to open the door, and only getting an error message to appear on the screen. I decided to tear a page for my sister's book. By reeling back and slamming my fist into the screen.
Sounding an alarm, but also opening the door.
Not letting another minute pass, I bolted out of the room and down the hall. Wherever I was I needed to get out.
"HEY, HALT"
Preferably without getting shot.
Obi-Wan POV
You know for such a tiny girl, whatever this weapon was unbelievably heavy. Not to mention aggravating, no let us not forget that. Because whatever it was, it didn't react to the force. Finding this out was the case when your padawan drops it on your foot didn't make it any better.
Much to his amusement, I was sure.
Now though after having two clones transport it to the ship's lab and having a medic take the girl to one of the spare rooms. I was in the overlook for the lab as I watched the Clone engineers try and fail to take a metal sample from the weapon. Only breaking their tools in the process, only managing to scratch the paint.
What the hell was this thing made of beskar, no they would have at least been able to tell that. No, this was new, and it concerned me how it interacted with the force. Not to mention the girl who was the owner seemed to be able to use it with next to no effort.
From how she acted on the Melevonce she wasn't an enemy, but her abilities were unique, to say the least. She was unbelievably fast, turned into and back from rose petals, along with being a skilled fighter. Even her name, Ruby Rose, wasn't normal. There were a few cultures I know that seemed to have strange names. I could admit Ruby Rose was a new one.
Either way, I had reports to make to the council, and with Anakin off to take Rex and Cody closer to their next mission. I would see them after this ship was repaired, but that left me with the paperwork.
The alarms sounding, around me would put that on hold.
"Captian what's going on?" I asked in the commlink on my arm. Turning to start heading out toward the bridge.
"There seems to have been a breach, sir. The girl seems to have escaped her quarters."
"Escape, what do you mean escaped? She wasn't even a prisoner."
"She seems to have broken through the doors to her room."
"Well, where is she heading then, since I'm now going to have to calm a child. Who I would like to mention can bust through a blast door." I retorted as I exited the room. Taking a right down the hall towards the berthings running past the hallway window of the lab.
"Sir, the girl has just entered the lab." The voice of another clone said coming over the comms.
I whirled around to look through the window that gave a view into the lab. She was indeed standing stoke still in the door of the lab. Eyes locked wide on the two engineers currently holding a saw over her weapon.
I realized at that moment that researching her weapon may not have been the best idea. As my ears were greeted with a muffled scream that shook the blastproof glass that stood in front of me.
Ruby Rose POV
How Dare They!
How dare they touch my baby, let alone try to chop her up. These men in white armor were already, trying to catch me. But they thought it was a good idea to try and chop. Up. My. BABY!
Hearing myself scream as my semblance activated, shooting me forward driving a foot into the first man in armor. Specifically, his face, sending the man flying into the far wall out cold. The second man reached for what looked like a gun that was laying on a side table.
He was fast enough to grab it, however, his aim needed work. Not to say it was bad I was just faster. Dodging his shots I launched over the table that held my precious grabbing her and taking cover on the other side.
Taking a breath, the sound of a lot of footsteps enter the doors greeted my ears. What I assumed was guns cocking, or charge followed soon after. With multiple voices yelling orders, some at me, which went ignored. Taking a moment I was crestfallen to find that Cresent Rose didn't have any ammo. Also, it appeared that my spare mags had been taken as well.
Bracing myself I launched to my feet ready to launch over the table.
"ENOUGH!"
Everyone in the room froze, except for me who just went. Who just stumbled forward as I felt a wave of pressure wash over me before breaking.
Looking to the source of the command I saw the man from the ship. Crouched in a fighting stance his hands outstretched palms open to the room.
"Obi-Wan?!" I called in surprise.
The man looked at me his face taking on that tired calm that was there when I first met him. With a soft smile gracing his face.
"Well, I'm glad that you remember me," He said stand up. The men in white armor around him seemed to relax at this. Opting to instead inspect the man that I had sent into the wall.
Taking a minute I looked closer at the room around, I saw that it shared the same color scheme as the room I woke up in but was filled with tools and what looked like computers. Along with some large tables that served as workbenches.
Obi-Wan was stile in his tan robes that I had met him in. Contrasting greatly with the stark white armor of the, identical men in the room.
Wait, identical?
Some of the men now had their helmets off. Revealing the same face, which wouldn't have been odd. I had met twins before, but there were seven of them in the room. Five of which had their helmets off. They also shared the same voice.
What in Oums' name? Where was I this couldn't be atlas?
"Miss Rose, are you okay?"
I turned to see Obi-Wan had walked up to me while I was distracted by the men. He was looking at me with some concern.
"Oh, Yeah why wouldn't I be," I said, subconsciously holding Cresent Rose closer. Smiling even though there was a weird feeling flickering in the back of my head.
"Well my dear you look like you're lost, not I'm surprised. I just want to make sure your okay." Obi-Wan said folding his arms into his sleeves looking down at me with a soft smile.
"Well I am, I think," I said rubbing the back of my head. "I don't even know how I even got on that ship."
I saw his brow furrow at that. His face taking on a look of thought before one of the other men in the room came up to him. He turned gave the man some orders before, saying something into his wrist. Before telling me to excuse him for a minute and walking across the room.
As the one person, I knew walked away, the thoughts of the past day flooded my mind. The memories of my friends and the battle that I hope ended the war. The image of Salem, and the burning hole in her chest. Finally, the overwhelming view of space, that I saw from the window of that small ship.
Tears were starting to well up at the realization. I was lost, and I sure as the brothers not on remnant anymore. But was there even a way home?
"I'm sorry about that Miss Rose, it was….. Are you okay?"
I turned toward the voice of Obi-Wan. Tears fresh in my eyes, the feeling of being a lost child growing bigger inside me.
"Obi-Wan, Where am I?"
