Chapter 6
"Aerogara!" mimicked Cloud as a spindly black hand shot up out of the group grasping for Cloud's expertly polished boots. Like Xant, a gust of wind propelled him skyward to the top of the clock tower. Cloud concentrated, prepared to send a beam of cyan energy flying towards Xant's shadowy form. Before he could build up enough energy however, he felt something large grab him and send him flying off into the sunset, it was the Ruler of the Sky, who had apparently thought that Cloud would be a delicious appetizer for his meal of pain.
IV, and the others just stood there for a second, deciding their next move, Axel was the first to act, he materialized two medieval looking chakrams. "You two got this handled right." He said with an aside glance at Roxas and Xion. The duo drew their keyblades and fell into a battle stance. "Yeah, you take the imposter." Xion pointed at the airborne assailant still trying to devour Cloud. "Um, Do you think he will be alright." she said nervously." Axel looked up and shrugged. "Eh if he's anything like the Cloud we know, he'll be fine, Now if you'll excuse me." And with that he threw one of his discs spinning at Xant. Xant raised his blade to block, but the second he started doing the motion, Axel teleported in a blink of light behind Xant and swung down his keyblade, to take his head off, Xant however, was not built to be defeated so easily, the moment he heard the sound of flames behind him, he snapped his fingers, "Boltaga!" he yelled and a bolt from the heavens connected with Axel's fiery red hair as if it was a lightning rod. Cockily Xant turned around. "You're lookin a bit burnt out Axel, let me cool you off. Blizzard Spear!" He shouted as he attempted to drive a rod of pure ice right into Axel's newly born heart. Axel deftly caught the spear in his hand and fired a blast of fire that connected with Xant's head. "You really should put on some sunscreen." Axel smirked as they resumed the battle."
Roxas and Xion darted left and right, avoiding the hands reaching out from the ground to pull them under. Roxas slashed, cutting down one of the hands, making it evaporate into the air. "So you've fought this thing before Roxas?" Xion yelled over the sound of another hand being obliterated. Roxas sighed as he proceeded to mow down three more limbs. "Well not this version exactly. This one's even more of a pain than the last one, what was this guy thinking making more of these things ..." He only then noticed that the mysterious intruder had not made a single move to assist them in any way. "Hey!" He yelled at IV, who just seemed to be enjoying the show as if it was a disney movie, all he was missing was a drink and a bag of popcorn. "Are you gonna help or what!" IV didn't move. "Sorry I was just admiring my handiwork for a bit before I destroy it. Very well, just give me a second." He raised his hand dramatically and uttered the word. "Gravitos" and the behemoth was blasted back as if it we're a fly in the wind.
He turned towards Xion. "You should help your friend on the Clock Tower. Me and Roxas have this well under control. Xion glanced at Roxas hesitantly, Roxas cocked his head towards the tower. "Go, We can handle this." "Alright." Xion said. "Aerogara!" She yelled as she went to join the epic battle that was taking place on her favourite hangout, and it seemed that she had arrived just in time. Xant had Axel on the ropes, his keyblade pressed to his throat as he struggled to stand. With the rare sudden feeling of rage, barely being aware of what she was doing, she poured all of the energy into her gleaming golden keyblade and stabbed forward, plunging the point into Xants chest, a flash of light illuminated the twilit sky, momentarily blinding her, when she regained her vision she expected to see a faceless head staring back at her.
However what she saw was the redheaded form of her best friend, impaled on the tip of her blade, Axel looked on shocked. "...Xi….." was all he was able to mutter before he stumbled back off the top of the tower, hitting the group, with a sickening crunch. Xion looked at her shaking blade, tears in her eyes, he could barely hear the shouts of Roxas from the ground below, she heard a laugh. "Idiot, a simple illusion spell, at least you know what it's like to be on the other end of the blade eh?" Xant swung his blade, prepared to cut her down.
Something clanged against his clean blade, he looked on shocked at what he saw. It was a figure that looked like him, but yet not him, Where there once stood a crying dark haired girl, stood a metallic figure with a face similar to his own, except with a mask in the shape of a plus, the figure wore different attire as well, with a red open coat and shorts, with giant shoes to complete the look, pressed against Xant's Key was a pointed sword that looked vaguely like the hands of a clock. In her other hand she held an identical blade, which slammed viciously against Xant's head almost sending him plummeting off the clock tower.
Xion pointed her blade at him. Xant pointed his keyblade at her. "And what is this?" he questioned with a sneer in his voice. Xion mimicked Xant's stance. "I am your death."
