Chapter 5: The Crew

Percy POV

Tyrese gives me a tour once again, but this time, I can actually see. The House of Night is beautiful, in a dark, gloomy way. He shows me his favorite part: a magnificent vista overlooking the abyss that is Chaos. He shows me the dining hall, the rec room, the planning room, the hospital, and, finally, the living quarters.

"This one can be yours." He tells me, pointing to room 38. "I'm in 43, and Jen is in 35."

Speaking of Jennifer, she exits her room at that moment.

"Hey, Ty!" She looks at me. "and you too, Perseus."

"Call me Percy, I was joking before."

"Oh, well, I'm not a fan of the name Percy, so... I'll call you... Seaweed Brain!"

I freeze.

"Or... not? she questions.

"Don't. Ever. Say. That. Name."

"What's wrong with it? I don't think you're stupid or anything." She assures.

"Doesn't matter. So, room 38, Ty? I'll be in there." I announce, and enter the room, quickly locking it behind me. I slide to the floor, crying.

Jennifer POV

"I broke him." I tell my brother.

"I'm sure he'll be fine. That's just... a rough name for him, I guess. Want me to ask him about it later?" Ty asks.

"No, he deserves some privacy. Its fine. Probably."

"Alright. At some point, I'll need to show him the barracks so he can grab some weapons." Ty says.

"He doesn't have one?"

"Well, he was fighting Polybotes with his fists, so I don't think so."

"That's strange."

"Yeah."

We stand in the hallway for a while, wondering how Percy's doing.

"I'm hungry. You hungry?" Ty asks me.

"Sure."

"Great! I'll see if Percy's interested."

"You sure that's a good idea?"

"Well, he's bound to be hungry."

"I guess. Just be gentle." I give him a stern look.

"Hey I'm always gentle!" He says, playfully.

"Suuuuure." I smile. "I'll be at the dining hall. See you there."

"Yep, be there in a few!"

Tyrese POV

I walk up to room 38, and knock. "Perce, you ok?"

The door clicks open. Percy looks terrible. "I'm fine." He assures.

"Yeah right!" He glares at me. "Anyways, me and Jen are heading to the dining hall. You hungry?"

"Yeah, haven't eaten an actual meal in fourteen days."

"FOURTEEN DAYS?"

"Yeah; for a few days we were locked in a battle for Manhattan with Kronos, then I was falling through Tartarus, then with Polybotes, our journey here, and everything else."

"And you're alive?" I mutter incredulously.

"Well, cmon! Lets not keep Jen waiting!" I say, and off we go

Percy POV

Once we arrive, I see Jennifer isn't alone. She's sitting with a group of six people, sitting at a round table mounted with boxes of pizza

"Ah!" Tyrese exclaims once we get closer. "I forgot to introduce you to the crew!"

Tyrese leads me through the group.

"Toni, 18 year old daughter of Thanatos. Rodney, 44 year old son of Morpheus. Morris and Angel, 15 year old twin siblings of Eris. Narumbi, 21 year old son of Akhlys. Bridgette, 6 year old daughter of Nyx. Then I'm 16, and Jen turns 17 in four days."

"Nice to meet you all. I am Percy, demigod."

"Who would have guessed! He's a demigod!" Morris exclaims jokingly.

"Who's your godly parent, son?" Rodney asks.

"Well, I was birthed by Poseidon, but he severed all ties to me."

He grimaced. "Well, allow me to apologize on behalf of the House of Night for what has happened to you."

"That wasn't as bad as literally getting stabbed in the back by my best friend of five years."

Narumbi mutters something in a foreign language, and Toni looks at him. "Language!" She hisses.

He looks at her sheepishly. "What would you say about the situation?" He asks in a heavy African accent.

She rolls her eyes, and kisses his cheek.

"Where is everyone from?" I ask, grabbing a slice of pepperoni.

Toni said that she was born in Romania, but she had lived in America since she was four, Rodney said he was from Indiana, Angel said she and Morris had grown up in South Dakota, Narumbi said that his home was in Ghana, and Rodney told me little Bridgette was from Poland. I was wondering if she was nervous, since she didn't tell me herself, when Tyrese leaned over and told me Bridgette was mute. We all sat there, sharing our life stories for hours, when Morris mentioned something about a Camp Jupiter.

"Camp what?"

"Camp Jupiter. Apparently, it's like Camp Half-Blood, but for Roman demigods. When Mother led us to the House of Night, we met a demigod who said he was from a Camp Jupiter along the way. He explained it, and it sounded pretty interesting. Anyways, word in the Pit is that their leader, a kid named Jason Grace, a son of Jupiter, vanished suddenly yester-"

"Hold up a sec!" I interrupt. "Jason GRACE?"

"Yeah? You know him?"

"I know a Grace, Thalia Grace. A daughter of Zeus."

"Jupiter is the Roman form of Zeus. Did he maybe hook up with the same woman in each form?" Morris questioned.

"He must have." I answered.

"Interesting..." he mutters.

"Well," Tyrese starts. "This has been wonderful, but Percy still needs weapons."

"Yeah, We've got other matters to attend to as well." Toni said, looking at Narumbi, smirking.

"Ahh, yes." He says. "Booty call."

Toni reddens. "Babe!"

"What? That's what you call it!"

"In private!"

Everyone laughs, and go about their days

Thalia POV

I open my eyes, and stretch. I feel something biking into the small of my back and reach back there to move it. As my fingers rub the notch of the tree, I remember yesterday. I found out about two of my friends' deaths, basically, shot a teddy bear, and watched Apollo strip to his underwear. Oh, how sexy he looked...Apollo... I'm drawn from my thoughts by a scream. I look down and see a women staring at the mangled corpse of- oh god. The toddler. I'm so shocked that I fall from the tree. Apollo!!!! I run towards the street, and hail a cab.

"Empire State Building. Now." I tell the driver.

"Be considerate, ma'am. There's lots of traffic today."

I rip a hundy out of my pocket. "You get this if I'm at the Empire State Building in under 30 minutes."

26 minutes later, I'm entering the building. I walk up to the security guard.

"I need the keycard for the 600th floor, please." I ask the guard.

"Lady, we only have 102-"

I grab him by the collar of his shirt. "I said, I need the keycard for the 600th floor."

"Right away, miss!" He fishes it out of his drawer, and hands it to me.

Two verses of I'm Stayin Alive! and I use my wind powers to propel the elevator upwards faster. Before long, the doors open, and I bolt to Apollo's temple. I pound on the door, and he answers, wearing nothing but a towel. I push through into the temple and turn to him.

"If you wanted to see me, all you needed to do was IM." Apollo jokes.

"The toddler's dead." I deadpan.

His face changes from a smile to a frown to a look of horror.

"That *bleep*'s toddler?"

"Yeah, Apollo. You just partook in negligent homicide. And thanks to your sorry arse, I did as well!"

"Thalia, I'm so sorry, I-"

"Don't apologize to me! Apologize to the woman that found the corpse! Explain to the toddler's father that you seduced his mother, and left. The child. Behind."

Apollo has tears running down his face. "I was only trying to cause a diversion to get you out of going to jail."

I soften a slight bit. "That doesn't make it ok."

"What am I going to do?" He asks me.

"Be a friggin man and take responsibility for your actions. Contact the coroner. Go to jail for a while! I know you're a god, but do me a favor; act like a mortal! Feel hungry when they don't feed you. Feel uncomfortable on the metal cot you sleep on. Then, after a month or so, I'll be able to look at you and not see a murderer."

Apollo nods, and turns into an acne-covered, flabby, 16 year old. I'm now a mortal named Lester Papadopoulus."

"Good." I smile. "Now, begin."

Percy POV

"How'd that one feel?" Tyrese asked after I tried out yet another sword.

"Wrong." I frown. "It's almost as if Poseidon was the reason I was such a good swordsman."

"That could be, but Poseidon isn't even a minor god of battle or swords, right?"

"No..." I think for a second, when I feel a pull to a certain weapon in the pile. I reach in and grab it. "Ooh, this'll work!"

I lift it up, and Tyrese grins.

End of Chapter 5! I need help deciding what weapon it was. It cannot be any time of sword (scimitar, rapier, etc.) or axe, since that is Tyrese' weapon. Lemme know in the comments! Have a wonderful day!
