Chapter 6
Surprisingly they left the apartment at 8:30am Rory just couldn't sleep and Logan's always been an early morning person so they left early. The drive to Stars Hollow was a pretty uneventful one they listened to songs on the radio and stopped along the way to get breakfast. No coffee though, Rory wanted her one to be Luke's. They arrived at 11am
When they arrived Rory spotted her Mom sat at the gazebo and ran over to meet her leaving Logan tagging behind
"Hello" Rory said sitting down
"That's how you look when you've been stuck in a car?"
"That's how you say hello!"
"I've missed you kid"
"Missed me it's only been what 2 weeks"
"Hello Lorelai" Logan only just caught up with Rory
"Nice to see you. You look well" Lorelai noticed "judging by the fact you are out of breath Rory ran to meet me and left you eating the dust?" This made her smile
"Yes she's fast when she wants"
"Hey, we all have our talents"
"I'm not saying anything!" Logan said as he bent down for a kiss
"So anything new?"
"Nope not here" Lorelai pointed at the town "You however"
"Well I know that, coffee?"
"Always" Her mother's reply was instant
Logan pulled Rory up before heading with her and Lorelai to Luke's for a cup o' Joe
"Lukey" Lorelai yelled as she walked in the door "I need 3 coffees" as Rory and Logan entered
"What's he doing here?" Luke mumbled loud enough only Lorelai could hear
"You will find out soon enough"was her reply "Now coffee please doll!" As she gave him a little kiss
"Coming right up"
Lorelai turned around to find them sitting at a table in the diner talking. This sight took her back to old times. As she went over to join them Luke came over with the coffee.
"Coffee..." Rory said dreamily picking up her cup for a sip of this elixir of life
"You really like your coffee don't you" Logan said
"Ain't no other drink as good as it"
"So..." Lorelai looked at them "Please tell him! Please!"
"God Honor flashbacks" Rory said remembering the lunch and afternoon with Honor "If told him later on would you kill me?"
"Duh No!" Lorelai said sensing where this was going
"That's good" Logan said clearly pleased with her answer he kissed Rory in the diner
"I like that" Rory said
"Okay lovebirds that's enough YUCK!!"
"Mom, Luke will know before we go just be patient"
"That said Ace we should probably go if we want to get there on time"
Realising what Logan was talking about she drank the rest of her coffee before heading out the door
"That worked quick" Logan wasn't expecting that speed from Rory
They arrived at the Doctors for a baby checkup, walking in the door Logan was mesmerised by the place he never knew a doctors surgery could feel so homey. Rory made her way to the front desk
"Rory Gilmore I have an appointment with Dr Jones"
"Yes Rory we have you here if you would like to ask a seat the Doctor shall be with you soon" said the receptionist
"Thank you Kate"
They found some seats by the corner and sat down, not for long though as the name Rory Gilmore rang out. They got up, hand in hand and went back to the room where they would see the baby.
In the room Rory was instructed to put on a gown before they could start. She quickly got her clothes off and put on the gown. Then a technician came in to do the ultrasound before Dr Jones would review it with them afterwards.
Before long the whole appointment was over and they were back outside.
"I can't believe it Ace" he really couldn't
"Twins what!" Rory was shocked "How!"
"Twins run in my family Ace" he said gently reminding her "Don't worry we will figure it out plus we aren't alone like at all!"
Logan always made her feel better his response was just what she needed
"Shall we head back to Stars Hollow?" Logan kindly asked he wanted to give Rory as much time to process as she needed
"Yes please I'm sure my mother will be pleased. I have Lane for tips anyway. Okay let's go"
The drive back to Stars Hollow contained lots of talk about twins and by the time they got back they were very happy with it.
"Come on I need some more of my things"
"Okay Ace! Maybe you could show me the dog version of Paul Anka" Logan had heard about him but still didn't believe he existed
"Deal but you got to help me pack"
"Of course"
They got back to her Mothers house very quickly
"Mom are you here?" Rory yelled as Logan closed the door
No reply, instead Rory chose to put one of the sonogram pictures on the fridge figuring it would make her tell Luke. Before doing so she wrote on the back
Found out today it's twins - Rory & Logan
"Okay then if you see a dog it's Paul Anka for now though I'm going to pack"
"Show me where to start?" Logan asked he didn't want to mess up her packing system
"Come on then" Rory said giving him a wonderful kiss before guiding him to the bedroom. She got out the boxes and the list. "Anything you find that's on the list put in the suitcase it's either in the boxes or in one of the drawers. You get the idea"
Together they spent the next 1.5 hours packing what Rory needed and just as they finished the door opened
"Lorelai? You back?" It was Luke
He made his way to the kitchen to put down the bags he had in his hands down. When he went to put the things in the fridge he saw the sonogram picture Rory had put up earlier that afternoon. Taking it off the fridge he read the back
"What the? Rory and Logan?" he was in shock
It was at that moment Logan opened the door with Rorys suitcase to put it in the car.
"Oh hi Luke I didn't hear you come in"
"Is this real?" He said pointing to the sonogram picture that was still in his hands
"Yes" a big smile was on his face "Rory I think you should tell Luke now" Logan called. Rory made her way to Logan and saw Luke with the picture
"Ahh I think you are right Luke sit. You to big guy!" big guy meaning Logan which they both did
"Luke you know after your wedding I went to London?"
"Yes"
"Well I went to tell Logan I was pregnant, surprisingly you took it really well" she was looking at Logan now. Logan got up figuring it would be easier
"We talked and sort of got back together" Logan said very chipper
"And then I called you asking for your burger recipe..." Rory couldn't finish
"We weren't in London but in New York, I lied and told you that so we could tell you to your face. The missing your burger part was real but cravings may of had something to do with it too" Logan told Luke hugging Rory close which felt good
"You mean... you are pregnant and you too are together again?"
"Exactly!" They said at the same time
"Does Lorelai know?"
"Yes apart the twins bit we found out this afternoon. I told Mom the rest before Logan she was the only other one to know you are the 4th Logan's sister Honor also knows." Rory said
"However don't tell anyone here but Mom we want to tell them at a town meeting" Logan quickly added
"Wow just wow" Luke got up for a hug "I'm a grandpa". Luke was in shock by what had just happened
Logan and Rory started laughing at this statement
"Now can you put it back on the fridge?" Rory said meaning the picture. Luke did so just as the door opened it was Lorelai arriving home with Paul Anka.
"Lukey" she made her way to the kitchen to find the trio standing there
"Please tell me you've told him now?" Lorelai was practically begging
Luke smiled "I'm a grandpa" he still couldn't believe it
"Yes you are, children!" pointing to Rory and Logan "Your room at the dragonfly's ready" she handed them the keys.
"Thank you Mom"
"Ace you ready to go?"
"Yes I've got everything I need"
Luke quickly wispered in Lorelais ear
"Look on the fridge"
Lorelai did and saw the sonogram, she took it off for a closer inspection and saw text on the back
"Rory!" Her mom ran to find her for a hug
"Whoa, calm down" clearly taken aback by the suddenness of the hug
"I can't believe it" she held up the picture and pointed "Twins, TWINS this is awesome!"
"It really is" Rory replied smiling at Logan
Logan only just noticed a dog in the room
"Rory is that" he looked at the dog and back at Rory
"Paul Anka? Yes it is" smiling now
"Ooo quick put sugar on your toes!" Lorelai was really excited by this
"No! Mom that's not going to work twice just pet him Logan"
Logan did as he was told, he found the dog to be really friendly
"Your a spoilsport" Lorelai said towards her daughter
"Time to go?" Logan asked
"Yes me need sleep"
"Uh oh that means you really need sleep come on" he said guiding her to the car
"Breakfast tomorrow! Mandatory!"
