Chapter 6 - New City, Same Issues
The plane had almost arrived to South Town. Kula was still sleeping after her conversation with K' but suddenly she started having a nightmare
"(Wait! I've almost completed the samples as NESTS ordered, I thought we had a understanding?)" - Said a scared female doctor to Kula
"(The deadline is over, Dr. Madison. NESTS has become tired of your lies!)" - In that moment Kula started walking towards Madison
"(Lies? But I'm telling you the truth! I'm sorry If it took me some time but you have to understand, somethings came out that made me not being able to deliver them on time.)" - Said Dr. Madison trying to calm Kula
In that moment a small girl comes out of her hiding spot and grabs Kula's leg
"(Please! Don't hurt mom!)" - Said the girl begging for her mother's life
Kula looked at the girl confused, hurting the little girl was not part of the mission so she didn't know what to do with her.
In that moment Madison throws a lamp that was close to her at Kula and tries to escape out of her apartment
"(Not so fast!)" - Said Kula freezing Madison's hand to the wall making her unable to run away
"(WAIT! I'll do anything for your or NESTS if you leave me live. She... She needs me.)" - Said Madison as Kula walked in front of her
"(Run.)" - Kula looked at the little girl and ordered her to run
"(Yes. Run, Dinah. Mommy is going to be fine... Just run!)" - Said Madison to her child
The little girl runned out of the place with fear, leaving Kula and Madison alone
"(Please. Give me another chance! Let me talk with your superiors about this... Maybe I can help them with the clones and...)" - Madison keep begging for her life but Kula grabed her by the neck
"(I'm afraid I can't do that.)" - Kula then created a giant and sharp spike of ice in her hand, she proceeded to kill Madison
"(URRGGGH!)" - Madison's scream was heared in the entire building
In that moment Kula awakens shivering totally scared and surprising K'
"What happened?" - Said K' looking at the scared Kula
"Nothing!" - Kula was totally freaked out by her nightmare.
"(I thought I had got rid of those memories? Why are they appearing so suddenly? That girl... What happened to her after she leaved the room?)" - Thought Kula remembering about the little girl that escaped
Some hours had passed, the plane had finally landed in South Town.
"We have arrived to South Town, please proceed to walk to the exit. Thank you for flying with us." - Said The Stewardess
Kula and her family walked towards the exit
"Ok, so what's the plan?" - Diana
"We need to find a good place where we can stay for the night." - Whip
Kula and her family entered into a bus, Kula was still shivering from her nightmares
"Kula, is something wrong?" - Asked Whip seeing Kula depressed
"I'm fine, Seirah." - Said Kula lying
"You really think I don't know you? Something seens to be bother you what is it?" - Said Whip
"I had another of those nightmares again." - Kula said the truth
"(Sigh)... I see. You must be so stressed." - Whip
"Maybe. I have been feeling weird." - Kula
"I'll tell you something, lets search for a place to stay and after that I'll take you to buy some ice cream." - Whip
"Really?" - Said Kula sounding interested
"Yes." - Whip
Kula and her family arrived to the building were they would be staying for now.
"Not bad, this place feels almost like our previous home but smaller." - Said Foxy sitting in one of the couches
Whip went to see Kula at her room, she was sitting on her bed.
"Hey, do you want to go for those ice creams now?" - Asked Whip
"Sure, I would like to." - Kula
"Hey, K'. Do you want to come with us? I know you're not a big fan of ice cream so maybe I can buy you some coffe?" - Whip
"(Sigh)... What a drag!" - K' got up of the couch and went out of the apartment with Whip and Kula
The three walked to Pao Pao Cafe first
"Hi, welcome to Pao Pao Cafe! My name is Miranda, what can I serve you with... Handsome?" - Said the girl attending K'
"Coffe, without too much sugar." - Said K'
"That's all? Alright, it will be $2.99." - Said Miranda
K' proceed to pay the girl
"Hey, you look kinda familiar. Have we meet before?" - Miranda
"I don't think so, I don't tend to go out to places like this too much." - Said K' in a dry tone
"Hahaha. Wow, you're so funny. I like that!" - Said Miranda giving K' a romantic smile
Whip and Kula were watching in the entrance how Miranda was flirting with K'
"(Oh great, this girl is interested in K' now.)" - Thought Whip hearing Miranda's conversation with K' who was barely listening to her
In that moment Whip looks at Kula, who looks incredibly pissed off, shaking her fists and looking at Miranda with a murderous look
"(Damn it! Kula must be jealous right now.)" - Thought Whip thinking that going to this place wasn't a good idea
Kula's hair started to turn blue slowy and she moved her hand up aiming at Miranda
"(Kula!)" - Whip in that moment grabed Kula by her shoulders
"What do you think you're doing, Kula?!" - Said Whip trying to calm Kula
"Do you see how that witch is looking at K'? Who does she think she is. Lets see if she still laughs after I turn her head into a block of ice." - Said Kula angry
"Kula, calm down! Don't do anything reckless. I don't think K' would ever want to go out with someone like her. Control yourself." - Said Whip
"... You're right, Seirah. I- I should just calm myself." - Kula took a deep breath and then she calmed down
"You know how is K', he would never fell for a girl like her." - Whip
In that moment Miranda ask K'
"So, I was wondering if you ever want to go out to somewhere. Maybe, I don't know... You could call me? Here's my number." - Said Miranda giving her number in a small piece of paper to K'
"Sure. Sure. Whatever you said." - K' took the paper and started walking to where Whip and The Jealous Kula were
"Calm down, Kula. I assure you K' doesn't plan to call that girl anytime soon." - Said Whip to Kula who was shivering of anger after Miranda gave K' her number
"Can we go now? I can't stand this place." - K'
"Yes." - Whip
"Please." - Kula
In that moment the three agents that have been following them see Kula and the rest abandoning Pao Pao Cafe from a table
Kula and Whip went to the closest ice cream shop
"Thanks for bringing me here, Seirah. I really starting to felt better." - Kula
"Don't mention it. I know how you much felt, confused, sad and probably stressed out. It has been a tought month. But don't worry, we will come out of this, everything will be fine." - Said Whip making Kula felt a little bit better
In that moment Kula, Whip and K' see a special report on the TV that was in the shop
"Back on other news. It was saturday when a local farm in Kansas burned to a crisp." - Said The news host
"We have our reporter Jack Oliver in the place of the incident. Tell us Jack how is the situation there?" - Said the news host
"Here we are, Stan. As you know this is the farm that exploded this saturday. It seens a big tragedy happened as the neighbors have told, the family that used to live in this house haven't been found." - Jack
"There's reports of two man and four woman who used to live here, the police, paramedics and firemen that arrived to the site were unable to find anyone here." - Said Jack
"The only details that we know is that a strange being was seen walking close to the farm before and after the incident." - Jack
"Ocular witness assure the strange creature stood in the other side of the street for some minutes before entering on the house." - Jack
"I saw that thing appearing out of nowhere in my garden and the breaking my fence." - Said an old man
"One of my sons remembers hearing the explosion and seeing that thing walking in the streets." - Said a woman to the reporter
"I got called to attend the emergency and when we arrived we saw it. That thing was just there standing still, we ordered him to stop but the thing just ignored us. We ended up opening fire but we were not doing anything, it was like he was bulletproof." - Officer
"Then I remember running to the entrance to shot that thing with my shotgun, but then it grabed me with those cold metal hands and said something like "Poor ignorant fools! Enjoy your pathetic lifes as much as you can, before is too late." Then it throwed me with the rest of my partners. I was so afraid at that moment, I thought that thing was going to kill me." - Said The Officer to the reporter
"I saw that thing walking out in the streets that day, she looked at me and it standed still for some moments. Then he just keep walking, I don't know where did he go but I remember being so afraid that day." - Said a girl to Jack who Kula recognized as Pamela from her short time in school
"Is also worthy to add that close to the zone of disaster, a destroyed van was found. We don't know what happened to it or his driver but many people think is related to the appearence of this strange being." - Jack
"Thanks to the help of all our witnesses we manage to do a Spoken portrait of the thing wich many people claim that it looked like something out of this world." - Said Jack as the images zoom to a detailed draw of Matriarch. Making Kula remember her encounter with her
"We will keep you informed if more information for this case is found, Stan." - Said Jack as the camera returned back to the studio
"Alright, Jack. Thanks." - Stan
"In other news, an alert has been made to localize the girl know as Amelia Ottavia. A girl of Kansas that was last seen walking out of the school on friday." - Said Stan as a picture of Amelia was show, making Kula remembering her good times with her and her death
"(Amelia... I'm sorry.)" - Thought Kula as a tear rolled out her eye
Whip looked at Kula
"I think we should go now?" - Said Whip to Kula
"Yes." - Kula
Whip and K' took Kula out of the ice cream shop and returned back to the hotel
Later that day
Whip was in her room, she then hears her phone ringing. She looked at it and saw it was a private number, she quickly recognized it
"(Commander Heidern!)" - Whip decided to answer the call
"Yes. Hello, Commander. I know it has been some time since my last call." - Said Whip
"Yes. Yes. I saw the news, I really don't know what to thing anymore." - Whip
"The van that was destroyed looked exactly like the one Kula saw. Do you think it has something to do with this strange creature?" - Whip
"What's the name of the creature? I think it was... Matriarch. I never saw something like her before, even back in my days of working for NEST." - Said Whip remembering shooting at Matriarch
"Yes. She is a woman, the armor she wears seens to have some really powerful technology. She even was able to defeat Maxima sending a virus to his system." - Whip
"For what Kula told me, if it wasn't for her hitting her with a burning piece of wood they would have been killed by her in that moment." - Said Whip remembering what K' told her about the fight
"Really? Thank you, sir but I doubt you can find any information of her in the database." - Whip
"About them? Well, I really don't know if she is working with them but I would still say that maybe there's some connection." - Whip
"I haven't tell them about it. Only Diana knows but she wants to keep it secret for Kula's safety. I know! I'll try to find a good way to tell them this delicate information." - Whip
"No problem, sir." - Said Whip ending the call
"(Sigh)... Explaining that is going to be hard." - Said Whip to herself before going into bed
