A/N: Two in 12 hours??? Well, you guys can thank Spriteofspite for this one, as his tough love made me decide this is gonna be more or less a chapter to apologize for my sloth... As always, tell me what you think! Oh... and don't expect much more than a chapter or two. This story was never intended to be long, after all. I have a basic idea for another... but feel free to give me any ideas! I may just love them!

Silence.

That's all that exists currently between a raven haired boy, and the loli with hair strangely resembling drills.

Until...

"Ha... Hahaha... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA."

Violent, maniacal laughter erupts from deep within Subaru, the whole room being filled with it's very presence. He then glances towards Beatrice, a crazed look in his eyes.

"I've gone and done it, haven't I? I've really lost my mind! I'm just so damn delusional that I'm seeing and hearing things that aren't even real. That's the only possible answer that makes sense! Right? RIGHT?!"

A little shaken by the reaction unbefitting of Subaru, Beatrice tries to reassure him, "Subaru, this is very much real. So... please stop acting so scary when I just wish to help you, I suppose."

His eyes start wavering, the look of madness seeming to melt into confusion. How did she know? Why did she know? It didn't make any fathomable sense that after all these times, the Witch suddenly just... let it happen. Even with Echidna, while he was able to say it, she was still angered by him uttering those wretched words.

As he began to lose himself in his thoughts, a small hand cupped his face. Looking up, he saw his favorite spirit tearing up, as she couldn't hold in her emotions any longer.

"All of those memories... were they real, I suppose? Did I really fail my Subaru that much?"

Still a bit lost to how such a situation was really allowed to exist, Subaru felt himself let out a small hiccup himself, as tears began to leak out of his eyes. She knew. She REALLY knew. Someone that cared about him. Someone HE cared about. And now she was trying to blame herself, this damned precious girl in front of him. So, he gave her what the truth, along with what he firmly believed.

Y-yes. I've died... many times... kinda pathetic, if I'm being really honest. But Beatrice... you didn't fail me, I promise. You saved me... you saved us all... at the sanctuary. That was you, and it means everything, the entire world even, to me."

"B-but I could have helped you! Saved you even, I suppose! What kind of spirit let's their contractor get hurt!?" Beatrice exclaims shakily, unrelenting in her path to blame herself.

"No. You couldn't have known. I couldn't have told you. You've even helped me before, when I thought no one else would... and that's when I learned that you were a good person. The best, even! You're the greatest spirit I ever could have asked for!"

With tears still streaming down both of their faces, they mashed together in a hug, Beatrice trying to continuously apologize, while Subaru kept reassuring her in any way he could. Truly a contractor and spirit that were so perfect together, they must've been destined to be linked by fate...

But, after what must have been twenty or so minutes by Subarus guess, they'd finally managed to compose themselves decently. Deciding that now was an appropriate time as ever, Subaru jumped up onto his feet, and...

Struck his signature pose! And exclaimed, "Thanks Beako! I've gotten my Beako battery recharged, and feel more refreshed than ever!"

Staring at him bizarrely, wondering how he always manages to bounce back from anything, Beatrice simply says, "Get down here. We're not done talking, I suppose."

Sitting back down on the bed, Subaru turns to her.

"So, what's up? Got any... questions I guess? Now that I know you... well, know, I dunno what to say honestly! This is just so dang crazy!"

"Yes, I suppose. If I may ask Subaru, how did you obtain such an ability, I wonder?" Beatrice asks, a look of mild curiosity and concern mixed together.

Subaru however... had not been expecting this question. Squirming a bit, he decides to start it a bit slow.

"So... Beako, you know how I have the witches miasma?"

A nod.

"It's... kinda directly related to my ability in a way. When it's stronger it means I've done something associated to it, whether it's rewinding or talking about it. Well... usually that last part, at least."

Beatrice allows herself to absorb this info... before widening her eyes. She looks up, asking, "Do you means to tell me your ability is linked to the Witch of Envy, I suppose!?"

With a smile a bit too happy and childish for such morbid conversation, he gives a simple, "Yup!"

"How do you always manage to get related to such troublesome individuals, I suppose!?" Beatrice exclaims, her jaw nearly dropping from yet another dramatic piece of info being dropped onto her head. At this rate, her skull is gonna burst...

"I've always had a knack for it, I guess! Besides, if not for that, I wouldn't have met you!"

Kicking out her feet, Beatrice pouts and exclaims, "Since when was I the troublesome one, I suppose!?"

"Since you became associated with myself, of course."

"W-well then I guess that's not so bad, I suppose...

"Gah! Such a cute reaction! So very much Beako!"

With a smile that was filled with brilliance, Subaru simply smiled at her. He then looks out the window to a setting sun... and then grabs Beatrice, getting a yelp out of her as he pulls her down to lay down with him.

"Welp! I'm tired after all that touchy feely stuff! Goooooodnight Beako!"

"Wha-? Humph, fine, but only because you insist, I suppose!"

"Hehe! I looooove you Beako!"

"Ah! I... l-love you too, Subaru..."

And with that, a boy and his spirit went to bed, one feeling like some weight had been removed from their chest, the other having gained knowledge into their precious contractor.
