Match Card
1. Cesaro w/Paul Heyman vs Rob Van Damn vs Jack Swagger w/Zeb Colter in a Triple Threat elimination match.
2. Alexander Rusev w/Lana vs R-Truth and Xavier Woods in a 2-on-one handicap match.
3. Big E (c) vs Bad News Barrett in a singles match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship.
4. The Shield vs Evolution in a six-man tag team match.
5. Bray Wyatt w/Luke Harper and Eric Rowan vs John Cena in a Steel Cage match.
6. Paige (c) s Tamina Snuka in a singles match for the WWE Divas Championship.
7. Ryan Maverick vs Brock Lesnar w/Paul Heyman in a No Holds Barred match.
8. Daniel Bryan (c) vs Kane in a Extreme Rules match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
WWE Extreme Rules was live at the Izod Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey. During the Extreme Rules Kickoff pre-show, El Torito faced Hornswoggle in a WeeLC match, a special midget version of a TLC match (as 'wee' is a synonym for 'small' widely used in Scotland). The referee, ring announcer, timekeeper and commentators were midget versions of regular personnel. Torito picked up the victory after a Springboard Seated Senton through a table.
The actual pay-per-view opened with a Triple threat elimination match between Cesaro, Jack Swagger and Rob Van Dam. Van Dam pinned Swagger after a Five Star Frog Splash to eliminate Swagger. In the climax, Van Dam performed a Van Daminator into a trash can on Cesaro and attempted a Five Star Frog Splash but Cesaro avoided, causing Van Dam to crash into the trash can. Cesaro performed a Neutralizer onto the trash can on Van Dam to win the match.
After that, Alexander Rusev took on R-Truth and Xavier Woods in a 2-on-1 Handicap match. Before the match, Rusev attacked Woods, thus taking Woods out of the match. Rusev forced R-Truth to submit to the Accolade to win the match.
In the next match, Big E defended his WWE Intercontinental Championship against Bad News Barrett. The match ended when Barrett performed a Bull Hammer on Big E to win the title.
In the fourth match, The Shield faced Evolution. During the match, Triple H Pedigreed Reigns and Batista pinned Reigns for a near-fall. Orton RKO'd Reigns but Rollins broke up a pinfall by Batista at a two count. Ambrose ran across the announce tables and leapt onto Triple H and Orton. Triple H, Orton, Ambrose and Rollins fought into the arena stands, where Triple H and Orton caused Ambrose to fall down a set of stairs. Triple H and Orton attacked Ambrose until Rollins dove off a balcony onto Triple H and Orton. The ending saw Batista perform a Spinebuster on Reigns and attempt a Batista Bomb on Reigns but Reigns countered and performed a Superman Punch on Batista. Reigns performed a Spear on Batista for the win.
The fifth match was a Steel cage match between John Cena and Bray Wyatt. During the match, Harper attacked Cena atop the cage, resulting in Harper falling into the cage. Cena performed a Super Attitude Adjustment on Wyatt but Harper broke up the pinfall. Rowan attacked Cena atop the cage but Cena pulled Rowan's beard, causing Rowan to collide with the cage. In the end, Cena performed a Diving Leg Drop Bulldog on Harper and attempted to escape through the door but the arena lights went off. When the arena lights turned on, a demonic child appeared, singing "He's Got the Whole World in His Hands". Wyatt performed Sister Abigail on Cena and escaped through the door to win the match.
In the penultimate match, Paige defended her WWE Divas Championship against Tamina Snuka. In the end, Tamina attempted a Superkick but Paige countered and forced Tamina to submit to the PTO, retaining the title.
Next up was Ryan Maverick vs Brock Lesnar.
In the arena, Brock Lesnar's theme hits to a boos and out comes the Beast Incarnate with Paul Heyman beside him.
"Well folks, this is going to be a fight." Cole said as Lesnar and Heyman walk down towards the ring. "This has been a rivalry breweing over for the past couple of weeks since Ryan Maverick debuted on the night after WrestleMania."
"And he said he came with a purpose, and that purpose is vengeance on Brock Lesnar." JBL added. "I don'tknow if he's stupid or brave, but considering who his father is...he's both. Ryan has come to WWE because of what Brock Lesnar did at WrestleMania."
"This is just so personal though." Jerry shook his head. "Two weeks ago, Ryan even brought up Lesnar's family. You don't do that, especially to a man like Brock Lesnar."
"Ryan is the Undertaker's son." JBL reminded him. "He learned the mind games from the master of the mind games. The Undertaker has no doubt taught Ryan everything he knows."
Lesnar jumps onto the ring apron, entering the ring and throwing his hat off as he walks around inside the ring while Heyman watches. Lesnar's theme dies down and the Beast pauses as he waits for his opponent.
For Whom the Bell Tolls plays to a pop before Ryan comes out on his motorcycle. He revs the motorcycle a few times before he drives down the ramp, circles the ring and parks his motorcycle while facing the stage.
"And here is a man everyone has been talking about these past few weeks since his arrival in WWE at WrestleMania 30." Cole said. "He debuted and won the Andre the Giant Battle Royal, and now he faces Brock Lesnar tonight."
He gets off and enters the ring, staring down Lesnar who had a cocky smirk on his face. Ryan takes off his trench coat to reveal new ring gear.
He had ditched the sleeveless top and wrestling tights, instead he wore a black vest very similar to what the Undertaker wore during his days as the Lord of Darkness from 1997-1999, he wore black, dusty-looking ripped jeans similar to a gunslinging cowboy. (AN: You all know it's Taker's WM 36 attire without the bandana, so I don't need to describe everything.)
Ryan's theme dies down as the son of the Undertaker never once takes his eyes off Lesnar who was smirking and got into a boxer stance as the referee rings the bell.
'Ding! Ding! Ding!'
"Here we go!" JBl exclaimed.
Ryan stays well away from Lesnar, knowing he can overpower him in seconds if he's not careful. The two men circle one another and Ryan throws his fists up and makes a few fake lunges at Lesnar, looking for an opening. Lesnar just laughs and bounces around, mocking him.
"Lesnar just laughing, mocking Ryan Maverick." Cole shook his head as Ryan strikes first with a surprise right hook to Lesnar's face, causing the Beast Incarnate to stumble a step. "What a right shot!"
"That hurts." JBL added.
Ryan quickly went on the attack, kneeing Lesnar in the stomach before driving his elbow into the back of the Beast. Lesnar fights back and goes for a right which Ryan blocked and landed a few rights into Lesnar's face, getting the Beast Incarnate into the corner.
"Maverick is taking it to the Beast." Cole noted.
"He better be careful, we all saw the beatings Brock Lesnar can dish out on somebody." Jerry reminded them.
Ryan stomps away on Lesnar then starts hammering away at the Beast before he wraps Lesnar's right arm around the top rope and pulls on it, causing Lesnar to yell in pain before Ryan lands a hard right to Lesnar's shoulder joint.
"What a shot!" Jerry said.
"Right to the shoulder joint." JBL agreed. "I have felt that at the hands of the Undertaker, it hurts. Ryan using some of his dad's tactics and that may help him in beating the Beast tonight."
Ryan pushes Lesnar back into the corner and unloads a fury of lefts and rights into the stomach of Lesnar before he finishes the combo with an uppercut, causing many to wince and ooh, even the commentators. Ryan then starts stomping on Lesnar's stomach, forcing the former UFC fighter down to the bottom turnbuckle.
"Ryan has actually forced the Beast down." Cole said, shocked.
"Ryan's using every advantage he can use." JBl said. "He can't get dominated, no matter what he can't allow himself to be tossed around by Brock Lesnar."
Ryan backs up a little as Lesnar tries getting to his feet but Ryan runs and hits a turnbuckle clothesline, then he scoops Lesnar up and...HITS SNAKE EYES!
"Snake Eyes!" Cole exclaimed as Ryan rebounds off the ropes and hits the Big Boot. "Followed up with a big boot! I am seeing the teachings the Undertaker has no doubt given."
"Of course he's done teachings, Michael." JBL gave him a look. "You think Ryan is just gonna learn by himself?"
Ryan rebounds off the ropes and hits a leg drop across Lesnars throat. "Oh! What a leg drop!" Jerry exclaimed as Ryan hooks the leg.
"The cover!" Cole shouted as the referee counts.
"One!"
"Two!"
"Th-!" Lesnar kicks out.
"Lesnar kicks out." Cole said.
Ryan shakes his head and starts driving his fist into the forehead of Lesnar with ruthless aggression. Ryan backs up before he quickly runs and boots Lesnar right in the head, flooring the Beast Incarnate.
"What a boot to the skull!" Cole exclaimed.
"Lesnar's down!" JBL added.
Ryan doesn't go for the cover as he presses his boot down on Lesnar's neck, breathing heavily as he puts a lot of pressure down on Lesnar's neck, causing Lesnar's legs to kick around as heyman screams for Lesnar to get back into this. Ryan lifts his boot off Lesnar before grabbing him with both hands and goes for an Irish whip but Lesnar reverses it, pulls Ryan back and hits a belly-to-belly suplex.
"What a belly-to-belly suplex!" Cole exclaimed.
"Now Lesnar's starting to gain control." Jerry said grimly, knowing this won't be good for Ryan.
Lesnar gets to his feet and walks over to Ryan, grabs him from behind and hits a German Suplex across the ring, sending Ryan rolling to the outside of the ring. Lesnar follows, laughing as he follows Ryan over to the announce table before he drives his knee into the ribcage of the Undertaker's son, causing him to groan in pain and fall to a knee.
"And here we go." Cole sighed, knowing Lesnar was going to be dominant now.
"Ryan needs to find a way to surprise Brock Lesnar, needs to use it to his advantage and take the Beast diwn." JBL said.
Lesnar drives his knee into Ryan's ribs a few more times before he brings a forearm down on his back, sending Ryan down onto his hands and knees. Lesnar lands a hard punch to the side of Ryan's head, then yanks him up by the hair before he rams Ryan's head off the announce table.
"Good grief!" Jerry exclaimed.
"Lesnar ramming Ryan's skull off our announce table here." Cole said as Lesnar grabs Ryan and irish whips him into the steel steps. "Oh God!"
"That got to hurt!" JBL added.
Ryan groans in pain as he leans against the barricade while lesnar walks over, looking to do more damage but Ryan boots Lesnar in the stomach, then uppercuts him but Lesnar grew angry and retaliates by kneeing Ryan in the stomach, then picks him up...AND LAUNCHES HIM OVER THE ANNOUNCE TABLE!
"Look out!" Cole said as he moved out the way to avoid being hit.
"Lesnar just launched Ryan like a frisbee!" Jerry said.
"That's the strength and power of the Beast Incarnate!" JBL said. "That's the man who is the 1 in 21-1."
Lesnar laughs as he mocks Ryan and the Undertaker by doing the cutthroat taunt. "Stay down, kid!" Lesnar shouts at Ryan. "You won't end up like your old man!"
That angered Ryan as he jumped onto the announce table...AND TACKLES LESNAR DOWN!
"Ryan tackling Lesnar!" Cole shouted as Ryan unloads on Lesnar with lefts and rights. "Ryan now throwing a fury of lefts and rights on Lesnar."
Lesnar shoves Ryan off and Ryan gets to his feet with lesnarbefore he rushes at Lesnar who sidesteps it and sends Ryan...HEADFIRST INTO THE STEEL RING POST!
"Good God!" Jerry shouted. "Did you hear that impact?!"
"The sound of flesh meeting steel." Cole nodded.
Ryan falls to a knee but couldn't recover as Lesnar grabs him from behind and tosses him onto the floor. Lesnar then picks up a steel chair and smacks it off the steel post.
"Oh no." Cole said, knowing this won't be good.
"You do NOT let that man get his hands on a weapon, who knows what he can do with them." JBL said grimly.
Lesnar waits until Ryan had gotten to his feet before he swings the chair...AND SMACKS IT OFF RYAN'S SKULL! RYAN IS BUSTED WIDE OPEN! Lesnar laughas as he looks down at the busted open Ryan who is trying to keep the blood from getting into his eyes. Lesnar raises the chair and starts smacking it off every one of Ryan's body parts, the arms, the legs, the knees, the back, and the chest. He struck all of them.
Lesnar tosses the chair aside, picks Ryan up and tosses him into the ring. Lesnar takes off his gloves and enters the ring, circling Ryan as he laughs before he grabs the young man by the hair and makes him look him in the eyes.
"You shouldn't have screwed with me, kid." Lesnar laughs.
"Piss off." Ryan could be heard reply...BEFORE HE GRABS LESNAR BY THE THROAT! He lifts Lesnar up...AND PLANTS HIM WITH A CHOKESLAM!
!A defiant Ryan Maverick!" Cole shouted over the cheers.
"Man!" Jerry added.
"Did you see the height?" JBl said with amazement at the height Lesnar went up as replays of the Chokeslam are shown.
Ryan leans on the ropes as Lesnar stumbles to his feet but falls to his knees. Ryan does the throat slit taunt to cheers from the fans as he picks Lesnar up, stands in the middle of the ring...AND HITS THE TOMBSTONE PILEDRIVER! HE HOOKS THE LEGS! ONE! TWO! THRE-! LESNAR KICKS OUT!
"Lesnar kicks out!" Cole exclaimed.
Ryan punched the mat in frustration before he gets to his feet, grabs Lesnar and lifts him onto his shoulders but Lesnar starts fighting back, elbowing Ryan in the side of the head, slides off and grabs Ryan's arm...AND LOCKS IN THE KIMURA LOCK!
"Kimura Lock!" Cole exclaimed.
"It's over!" JBL called it.
"He's gonna break his arm!" Jerry added.
Ryan yelled in pain yet kept his free fist clenched and shook his head as Lesnar screamed for him to tap or else he'll break his arm. Ryan yells as he shakes his head and starts punching Lesnar's ribs until his grip weakened a little and he quickly stood, grabs Lesnar's arm...AND LOCKS IN A KIMURA LOCK OF HIS OWN!
"And now Ryan with the Kimura Lock!" Cole shouted.
"Will Lesnar tap?!" Jerry asked the important question.
Lesnar screams in pain as he looks around for anything to help him get out of this but couldn't Paul Heyman comes into the ring with a steel chair, which makes Ryan release Lesnar, get to his feet...AND BOOTS HEYMAN IN THE FACE!
"Big boot to Heyman!" Cole said.
Ryan glares down at Heyman before he turns around only to be lifted onto Lesnar's shoulders...AND HIT WITH THE F5! LESNAR HOOKS THE LEGS! ONE! TWO! THREE! BROCK LESNAR HAS BEATEN RYAN MAVERICK!
'Ding! Ding! Ding!'
Brock Lesnar's theme plays as Lesnar rolls onto his back,exhausted after that gruelling match. "Here is your winner...BROCK LESNAR!" Lillian Garcia announced.
"What a match, guys." JBL said as Lesnar rolls out the ring with Heyman. "You can't take anything from Ryan, that young man knew what he was getting himself into and he still took on the Beast."
"Brock Lesnar wins tonight, but I doubt things between him and Ryan are far from over." Cole said.
Lesnar makes it to the stage and looks back with a smirk as Ryan is groaning and recovering in the ring. He sits up and watches Lesnar and Heyman go backstage. Ryan sighs and lowers his head.
'Ryan Maverick! Ryan Maverick! Ryan Maverick!' The crowd chanted, making Ryan look around at them.
He rolls out the ring and wipes the blood off his face before he unbuttons his est and sits on his motorcycle, starts it up and drives up the ramp and heads backstage with it...
Ryan may have lost, but things between him and Brock are far from over.
