On Sunday Elliot went to church. It was always so peaceful there. He prayed at the altar, for Kathy and the kids, and for himself. Afterwards he texted Olivia and they met up at a local Starbucks and sat down over cups of coffee.

"She was gone when I got home, Liv. Took the kids with her. And I don't know why I was so upset, I walked out on them the night before, you know?" Olivia nodded and took a sip of the warm beverage before speaking.

"Elliot, it's okay that you're upset, that you're feelings are hurt. You wanted to talk about things and face the situation but Kathy didn't give you that chance, at least not yet. Just give her a few days. I'm sure her feelings are hurt, too, but eventually she'll have to hear you out."

"Yeah, I guess. And um...I guess we're divorcing. That's what Kathy told Kathleen anyway and I mean, I can't refuse, you know? I confessed my love for you to my wife, the one I'm no longer in love with...so of course we have to get a divorce. What other choice is there? We've been miserable for too long but shit, it still sucks." Elliot was rambling but it felt so good, telling Olivia all of this. He always felt so comfortable around her, not feeling the need to withhold how he felt, always able to vent without judgement. This was the woman he loved. Olivia reached over and took Elliot's hand in hers.

"I know it sucks, El. You didn't want it to come to this, no married couple wants to get a divorce. I love you and I'm here for you, you know that, right?" Elliot looked up at Olivia and into those brown eyes of hers; gosh he loved her eyes.

"I know. And I love you, too." He kissed her hand and she gave him that soft, beautiful smile of hers. Her smile was one-of-a-kind, always able to calm his nerves. They just stared at each other for a moment, the hustle and bustle of the coffee shop fading as they fell lost in the others' eyes. Finally, Olivia broke the silence.

"So...what are your plans for today?" Elliot chuckled and rubbed his neck nervously.

"Well I...I was actually hoping to spend it with you." Olivia laughed merrily.

"What do you know? I was hoping to spend my day with you."

I know it's a super short chapter but I haven't updated in a week and wanted to give y'all something. I won't leave y'all hanging though, I'll probably dedicate the next chapter to the day they spent with each other :)
