Chapter 6- Sasuke Weds Sakura

"Wake up, Sakura!" The Haruno house was filled with happy aura today. Sakura's eyes fluttered open to her mother's voice and perhaps she would actually like the rush today if it wasn't her own wedding that they'd be attending soon. "Come on Sakura, it's your wedding! We have a lot to do, get ready fast!" Sakura got up much slowly compared to Mebuki's rush. Her room was already a mess, with luggage and boxes scattered around carrying all her belongings that were to be delivered to the Uchiha residence.

"Kizashi, we're heading to the parlour, we need to get Sakura ready fast. Please take care of sending the rest of her belongings, make sure you don't leave anything out!" Mebuki said to her husband, pointing out everything to be done in her absence. "Sakura, get ready fast! You took the address from Ino didn't you?"

"Hai, I'll be here in a bit.." Sakura said boringly, Mebuki was extremely happy with the suggestion Ino gave. She knew about Ino's extensive knowledge on makeup brands and parlours and took the offer of Ino booking an appointment for Sakura's bridal get-up with a renowned artist Ino often went to immediately upon the blonde's suggestion.

As soon as they were ready, they headed out to the parlour in the car the Uchihas offered them to carry out the wedding arrangements at ease. Sakura noticed another car picking up her belongings to shift it to the Uchiha Residence, unsure of how to feel about it. Her focus shifted soon later, when she had to get busy with all the bridal get-up activities she was put through as soon as they reached the parlour.

Uchiha Residence

Mikoto was hovering above cloud 9. Despite the wedding being arranged in a lavish venue, Mikoto still decided to decorate the whole Uchiha mansion unleashing all her imagination she had in her mind for her son's wedding. And regardless of Sasuke's extreme denial, she didn't budge about decorating his own room either, with all possible romantic props in her mind which Sasuke could manage to reduce after a lot of convincing in his own way.

On the other hand, the assistants were frequently bringing Sakura's belongings to their house which Mikoto herself arranged in a self-reserved portion of Sasuke's room for Sakura to easily organize later on. Her love for her soon to be daughter in law seemed to astonish Sasuke even more when he saw Mikoto getting Sakura sets of clothing of his mother's choice. 'What will Saku-chan wear after she comes home? She won't have the energy to go through all of her stuff at night to find a comfortable nightwear Sasu-chan!'

The Uchiha house radiated no less wedding aura than the Harunos, and as much reserved the male Uchihas were to be jumping about the wedding, the female Uchiha's cheerfulness and excitement made up for it.

Fugaku was busy with the wedding arrangements, so was Mikoto, which left only Itachi to push Sasuke to get ready. Not like he didn't expect or hated it, rather he was pretty much excited to watch his little brother getting married, after all it indeed was a once in a lifetime opportunity to witness.

Haruno's

It seemed as though Kizashi would tear up anytime. Watching the daughter he raised for 22 years in a bridal get up standing right in front of his eyes surely hit him hard, even more than the time her marriage was fixed or the engagement. However that didn't help Sakura, the realization of leaving the house she grew up in was already hitting her now that they were in the final moments before that happening and her emotional parents only seemed to make her control of emotions harder.

"Tou-san, okaa-san, we'll be late if you keep on doing this you know." Sakura said in an attempt to stop her parents from actually tearing up.

"Oh dear, we can't help it, you look so beautiful!" Mebuki squealed. "But you're right, we'll be running late. Oh Kami! I still can't believe my little daughter is getting married, seems just yesterday when you learned to walk, strolling around the house all day!" There we go again...

After few minutes of Kizashi and Mebuki's rants on Sakura's bridal attire and childhood stories, Kizashi finally broke off the chitchat, reminding them all about the car waiting for them outside, again sent by the Uchihas and they all proceeded to head out.

Just when Sakura was about to step out of the house, she stopped and turned back, taking one last look at the house she grew up in, the house she'd be leaving once and for all in few seconds. Even though she took a good look at her room before leaving it.. but damn she really wanted to run back and see it once again. No matter how many times she visits this home after today, it won't change the fact that she'll be married to someone else with another house to go back to. But she realized she couldn't run to her room again, upon feeling the comforting hold of her father on her shoulder, she turned towards her parents again, gave a soft smile and walked out of the house, no longer looking back this time.

Wedding venue

The wedding seemed a lot more uncomfortable to Sasuke than the engagement. It was an even larger venue with a greater number of guests which seemed to keep increasing with time. Itachi, Sasuke's best man, was accompanying him, lowkey relieved that he could manage Sasuke to get ready and bring him to the venue on time despite Sasuke's constant nagging featuring frequent 'hn', 'tch' and 'whatever's, saving himself from making the groom late on his own wedding and Mikoto's bashing for that reason. The groomsmen were there too, who attended earlier to join as soon as Sasuke came. Sasuke only stood quietly while most of the others chatted happily. Fugaku and Kizashi were greeting the guests while the girls, who were also the bridesmaids were all already with Sakura in the room she was to be kept till the time of their wedding, where he also assumed his mother was.

Sakura was in the room of a private bungalow across the venue, the mere outlook of which already amused her. The Uchihas are actually wealthy beyond my imagination.. or at least that's how she felt after seeing a back to back magnificent engagement and wedding venues.

"Oh Sakura dear, I really can't express how beautiful you look, thank you for agreeing to marry my Sasu-chan, more importantly because I get to have a daughter I never had!" Mikoto cried, praising Sakura for like the hundredth time in the past half an hour. Sakura could only give a warm smile as a response to Mikoto's words. Over the past few days, even though it was a very short span of time, Mikoto treated Sakura with such affection that she became no less than a second mother to Sakura, which the bride greatly appreciated. Mebuki was still on verge of tears and the bridesmaids and maid of honour wasted to chance to drool over her, if it was any other occasion Sakura sure would be contently swimming on the pool of compliments she was getting. But right now she had things to worry about, like how her own wedding will go and what can possibly happen afterwards, in a new house and a new phase of her life.

"Mebuki-san, we should leave now and send Kizashi-san over, it's almost the time for the ceremony to begin." Mikoto reminded Mebuki, to which she agreed to and they shortly left, leaving the girls to squeal at the bride in praise, all except the bride herself eager for Kizashi to arrive, waiting to make an appearance in the altar.

It wasn't long till Kizashi entered the room, the next few minutes being Kizashi becoming all emotional again until they finally headed out, went across the garden to the lavish wedding venue. About time... Sakura nearly dreaded.

Sasuke, the Harunos, and the rest of the Uchihas alongside the groomsmen stood at the altar, guests already making their way for the bride upon the declaration of her arrival. The bridesmaids joined in first, both groom's and bride's side facing one another. Only seconds later a hint of pink caught everyone's eye in the direction everyone already kept their focus on, the bride now clearly visible to the people present, holding her father's arms who was beside her. In spite of Sakura already being familiar with how luxurious the Uchihas can get after witnessing her own engagement, she couldn't help but get amused at the wedding venue right before her eyes, it was decorated in all white and looked more peaceful than ever. Only if she had a portion of the peace this magnificent place was radiating.. her eyes fell on the guests and then to Sasuke as she moved along with her father. A blush crept on her face at the sudden realization of her being the centre of attention.

Sasuke's eyes were on the nearing bride too like all the guests as she walked down the aisle, he noticed her hair in an up-do, covered in a long veil. It was a different hairstyle that put much more focus on her creamy neck and shoulders, diamonds adorning her besides the off-shoulder wedding gown matching with his own outfit and fitting her perfectly, outlining the curves of her body even more. The soft bridal makeup matching with the colour of her hair enhanced her most exotic facial features even more. Her gleaming eyes looking absolutely inviting, with enchanting green hue of it bearing all the innocence Sasuke didn't realize she had until now and the faint pink blush on her cheeks looked way too admirable. She is beautiful.. screw me, what on Earth am I thinking? Sasuke wanted to slap himself for the thought running on his mind after watching the bride, and it took no time for him to brush it off and gain his old composure back once he realized what he was doing.

Walking down the aisle already made her blush at the attention she got, and stopping at the altar, that too standing right before her soon to be husband didn't help. Her eyes were fixed on Sasuke once she saw him. A white suit in contrast with the black shirt he wore underneath looked like it was made to be on the lush skin he had. His raven hair looked all the same, except it was silkier and well groomed for this particular occasion. Her eyes fell on his dark onyx eyes that weren't looking away today, rather it seemed to be somewhere on her, just not on her eyes. And truth to be told his eyes were captivating. Her soon to be husband looked captivating. Shannaro! Was she going insane or what?! Her blush got harder at the thought, totally embarrassed. It took her a few seconds to let it all sink in and focus back on the real world but she finally managed to do so.

"Now that both groom and bride are here, shall we begin the rituals?" Fugaku asked to which all others agreed. There goes nothing.. Sakura thought. Sasuke had the same stoic expression, however, he nodded in approval upon Mikoto's stare. The priest stepped forward.

After around 20 minutes or so, the ceremony finally seemed to come to an end, only seconds to go before they're officially a married couple.

"Do you, Uchiha Sasuke, take Haruno Sakura as your lawfully wedded wife?"

Sasuke found this part of the ceremony not suited for him, it's not like he had any other answer to give. "I do." He said maintaining his regular tone.

"And do you, Haruno Sakura, take Uchiha Sasuke as your lawfully wedded husband?"

"I do." Sakura managed to say it loud enough and she assumed to have done it with enough confidence for anyone else to not notice how scared she actually was.

"With that, I declare you two, now Uchiha Sasuke And Uchiha Sakura, an officially married couple." The priest declared. Sakura felt a blush appearing on her face at the new name she was just given. Uchiha Sakura...

"You may now kiss the bride."

The last few words reminded both Sasuke and Sakura of the approach of the moment they wanted to come across the least. They never even talked with one another, let alone kiss. The guests were already cheering and clapping, and they knew they had to do it for the sake of not causing a scene.

They both moved a step forward, indicating the action to be done so that they could get this over with. Sasuke's slight blush went unnoticed by Sakura for her gaze was fixed on the floor, however, Sasuke did notice both her hard blush on her already rosy cheeks as well as her trembling figure. Sakura courageously looked up at her now-husband upon stepping forward and their eyes immediately locked in a contact, there was no feeling of love or warmth, Sakura's eyes gave off fear and Sasuke's ones only wanted to get this over with, at least that's what Sakura interpreted. She felt Sasuke move forward, nearing towards her. The closing proximity made Sakura's heart race. Sasuke shifted slightly to his right, and tilted towards Sakura which seemed to hide their face from the crowd who were already gasping and admiring the new couple. Sakura stood stiff, not knowing what to do or what will happen. She suddenly felt a grip on her left arm, and a hold on her head. Sasuke gripped Sakura's arm and held her right side of the veil as softly as he could, as if trying to avoid the contact. He slowly shifted Sakura to his right, which the stiff Sakura followed, still not understanding what he was doing or what was happening. However, she still didn't realize that this position covered both their faces from the crowd. Sasuke didn't speak, nor let his lips touch her skin. Her trembling was getting worse and her heart raced even faster, not knowing what to expect. She felt Sasuke stand in that position for a couple of seconds, their close proximity allowing her to feel his steady breath. She did not dare to move from the position which now she understood Sasuke indicated her to be in with his firm hold on her. Shortly after the guests' cheering became louder, Sasuke quickly moved from his position, hands back hanging beside him and he stepped back to where he stood before. Sakura too took a step back, her heart still racing for what happened. She did not expect that, however, she mentally thanked him for doing what he did. She never kissed anyone before and kissing someone who she didn't know, even if he was her husband now, was still something she wasn't ready for. Yet the question still lingered in her head on why he didn't kiss her, was it because he didn't like her? Was her assumption about him already having someone in his life correct? Or did he actually realize how scared she was and he felt the same, not ready for kissing yet? Whatever it was, she knew he had to thank him for that afterwards, she didn't know how she would react if they indeed kissed and Sasuke just saved her from that situation. Sasuke on the other hand didn't know how to feel about the whole thing, what will Sakura think about what he did? He wasn't ready to kiss her just yet, he never kissed someone before and seeing Sakura's trembling figure only made him feel like she didn't want it to happen either. But he didn't know why, there was an obvious reason for her not liking him, but then again probably she had someone in her life already? Whatever it was, at that moment he just knew neither of them were ready for it, that's when the sudden idea of doing that struck his head and he went for it without thinking, and Sasuke felt that he did the right thing.

The next few hours passed by filled with all the guests congratulating them. Sakura met many wealthy families, among which she only knew the Hyugas, Kazekages, and Yamanakas. The Hyugas congratulated them with their whole family together, following their tradition. Hinata's father, Hiashi looked stern as always, and a soft Hinata along with her cheerful younger sister Hanabi as well as Neji stood along. The Yamanakas then congratulated them, Ino totally gushing over how cute the couple looked which made both Sakura and Sasuke quite embarrassed. The Kazekages followed suit shortly. "I'm sorry for not being able to accept the offer to be your groomsmen Sasuke, you know the company pressure I had to deal with." Gaara apologetically said.

"Hn. It's alright Gaara, I know." Sasuke responded cordially. They were then greeted by the Naras, Inuzukas, Senjus where even Sakura's master, Senju Tsunade was present which Sakura was greatly expecting upon sending her the invitation, Tsunade was no less than a parent figure to her after all. After that arrived the Uzumakis, Naruto being loud as ever and this time he had his mother stopping him, only for her to show even more excitement than Naruto did. The Uzumakis were extremely sweet people and both Minato and Kushina looked like the perfect teenage couple in love, even though they long ago crossed that age. Sakura also got to know that the Uzumakis and Uchihas were extremely good friends, in both personal and professional life. Later on, they also met a few of Itachi's friends and some of Sasuke's acquaintances, Aburame Shino, Akimichi Choji and their families, people named Kisame, Jugo, Suigetsu, and a few others which Sakura already forgot who was Itachi's friend and who were Sasuke's among them. Sai and Tenten too then stepped forward, for they were without their family since their families lived outside the city, followed by Lee and his father Might Guy, who was no less youthful in nature than Lee was, if not more. Sakura also met Sasuke's older cousin, Shisui, and Obito with his wife Rin, people she didn't know that existed until today, her confusion being cleared by Shisui who explained they lived outside the city often for which they couldn't make it in the engagement. Shisui and Obito didn't leave a chance to tease the new couple either, with Rin often eying them to stop noticing Sasuke and Sakura's embarrassment. Besides them, she also met Sarutobi family's Asuma and Kurenai and their daughter Mirai Sarutobi, as well as Hatake Kakashi, Sasuke's advisor and who also happened to be good friends with the Sarutobis, Obito, Rin as well as even Lee's father Might Guy. The distant connections that Sakura discovered she had with Sasuke made it seem that the world was actually really small, at least to her. Shortly afterwards, they saw another family heading their way, they approached the couple and a man Sakura didn't know began speaking.

"I see you've chosen a quite elegant bride, Sasuke. I'm Otsutsuki Hagoromo, young lady. This is my wife, Kaguya, and my daughter, Karin Otsutsuki. Congratulations to both of you." Otsutsukis. They are the Outsutsukis. Sakura stiffened unnoticeably at the realization. Her eyes fell on Karin, who was looking at her with an intense gaze, which, if Sakura was interpreting right, seemed to contain only anger. Karin had long red hair, a defined face, and a decent figure. Apart from belonging to a very wealthy family she also seemed to have decent looks, no wonder Sasuke had a very high possibility to not only get married to her but as well as fall for her, until Sakura came into the picture.

"Congratulations Sasuke.. and something like Haruno Sakura right? If I didn't hear your name wrong during the vows?" Sakura flinched slightly at Karin's approach towards her. Seeing her angry eyes and unfriendly approach, besides no reaction from Sasuke after that, she was sure that Sasuke and Karin were together, despite feeling slightly guilty, she couldn't help but feel a hint of sadness at the thought either. Sasuke however already had clenched fists gone unnoticed by everyone, ready to send Karin away with some harsh words waiting to come out of his mouth. Sasuke and Sakura both were distracted from their thoughts as Itachi quickly decided to take control of the situation.

"You're right Karin, and by the way, it's now Uchiha Sakura. Alright..." Itachi continued quickly noticing Karin's fuming face. "...It's time for dinner, Sasuke, Sakura, let's go. Mr.Otsutsuki, I must plead you to proceed too." Sasuke was glad that Itachi handled it all before he did, and Sakura relaxed and felt grateful for Itachi's response to what Karin said.

Dinner was nothing different for the couple, they sat at the main table with both Uchiha and Haruno family and both of them kept quiet, the elders chatted occasionally and the younger ones only listened. Soon after dinner and an awkward cake cutting phase followed my dessert and some drinking, which the couple avoided as much as they could for neither wanted to get drunk at least tonight, was over, it was time to leave. It was already around midnight and most guests except the very close ones already left, who were too already heading out, accompanying the Uchihas and Harunos who walked at the front.

"T-tou-san.. okaa-san..." Sakura sobbed, they were all at the main gate, the Harunos sharing their last goodbye. No matter how much Sakura tried to control it, in the end her emotions gave in at the last moments of leaving her parents to step into a new family and new phase of her life. The rest kept quiet as the Harunos shared their last moments together, Mikoto only comforting Sakura with her soft pats.

"Weren't you the one telling us not to cry earlier, come on, what happened now, don't be sad dear.. you can always visit us anytime you want..." Mebuki cried, a futile attempt at trying to stop Sakura from crying, where she ended up sobbing more than she already was instead.

"Your mother is right Sakura, you're getting such amazing in laws, I'm sure you won't feel our absence at all!" Kizashi tried to cheer her with teary eyes.

"I-I'll miss you.. tou-san, o-okaa-san.." Sakura sobbed while hugging her parents. The Harunos spent a few more moments of goodbye, until they finally departed and left the venue.

The Uchihas arranged a separate limo specifically for Sasuke and Sakura to be driven to the Uchiha Residence, and behind them was another limo in which the elder Uchihas and Itachi were. The ride to Uchiha Residence was completely quiet, Sakura was too busy controlling her sobs and Sasuke, not knowing what to do or how to react kept his gaze focused outside the window throughout the whole time.

After around half an hour the car seemed to finally come to a stop. Sakura, who even though managed to control her sobs but still remained gloomy as ever, snapped out of her thoughts, realizing they already reached their destination. This is it.. this is where I'll have to live from now on...

Author's note- Yay! My favourite ship is finally married xD what did you think about their first 'kiss'? I know I didn't make them interact even in their own wedding but don't worry, they will be interacting in the next chapter. Yes!! Their very first interaction! I just wanted that to happen more privately lol, anyways, I hope you enjoyed this, I wanted to focus on the other characters too for which I included a lot of them in the wedding, though most will have barely any role to play in the storyline, it's not possible to include so many characters and focus on all of them individually you know. Stay tuned!

Next chapter release date- 15th May, 2021.
