Several centuries ago
The first thing I saw when my eyes first opened was painful to see. Bright light invaded my vision, and I was forced to close my eyes again. I felt my skin touch something rough and coarse, I didn't like it one bit. Slowly opening my eyes, I was blinded temporarily until my eyes adjusted to the sun's light. All I saw was sand in every direction for miles, with no end in sight. I don't like sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere.
W-Where was I? W-Who am I? I tried standing up, only to stumble and fall onto the sand. I stared at my hands. I was grey and had both arms? Why did I pay attention to both arms? Licking my chapped lips, I stood up again, the sun beating down on me. It felt warm and inviting. The sun was my friend, and it could help me. I closed my eyes as the sun's rays shone down on me.
M-My name was...what was it again? Several names popped up in my head. Annette? No no, that wasn't it. Rachel? Aisha? All of those names sounded foreign, yet so familiar. I shifted my weight as I opened my eyes slowly again. How did I end up here then? I touched my forehead and tried to remember as much as I could.
Nope, nothing. I punched the sand below me screaming. Who am I! I cradled my head as I placed it in between my knees when visions of a golden man tearing through hordes of people with elaborate costumes tore through my mind. I saw a great dragon fight a creature that had a weirdly shaped monster in a ravage city. Then, I saw a woman in a fedora right as the visions went away. Did this happen? Was I there? I must have been for some reason. Suddenly, I felt something come near me. A weird looking bug covered in a shell that looked like armor emerged from the hot sand. Feeling its presence in the back of my mind, I allowed the scarab to climb up my right arm. I giggled softly, my rage slowly fading away.
"I think I'll call you...Lisa." I willed the scarab to reveal its wings, and it fluttered around my face before landing on my shoulder. Well that was interesting. Did that mean I could control bugs? I sensed more bugs around me, burrowed deep under the sands, and I pulled on them. They all started to move at once as I commanded them to come to me. One by one, more scarabs, spiders, and other bugs formed a small swarm around me. I willed them to walk around, which they did. The ones that could fly were ordered to pick up those who couldn't and started to fly around me.
Forming a small grin on my face, I ordered them to stop. This was amazing! Feeling rejuvenated by the sun's beautiful rays of sunshine, I slowly stood up. Dusting off the sand that was on my clothing, which now that I looked at, didn't look very normal or maybe it was?
Covered in patches of battle worn armor, along with my clothes being made out of some weird material, it didn't fit well, at all. It was like someone shrank me and stuffed me in these, or if these grew somehow and I put this on for some reason. Taking an unsteady step forward, I also tripped, but managed to catch myself just barely. Licking my chapped lips, I took another look around me.
Still sand.
"Where shall we go Lisa?" I whispered to the large scarab on my shoulder. I couldn't exactly stay here in the middle of nowhere. Even without memories I knew that I needed water, food and shelter. Lisa aimed her body to my right.
"You sure?" Lisa stared at me with her tiny eyes, which was all that I needed to convince me. "Well, if you say so." Releasing my hold on my swarm, I had a few dozen fliers follow me, emergency food if I haven't found any sign of civilization.
Taking a step forward, my journey to find civilization began.
I had never felt more dehydrated in my life, and I didn't even remember any of it. I did well the first couple miles, but then my pace started to slow down to a crawl. Even Lisa hid in my hair to hide from the sun. The sunlight didn't do much to me for some reason. My stomach grumbling on the other hand, was very annoying and was actually starting to hurt. Wiping the sweat from my forehead, I licked my fingers. I probably shouldn't have done it, but I couldn't help myself. The salt from my sweat made me thirstier, I definitely shouldn't have done that. My fliers were spread out, but even they found nothing but sand.
Each step I took was painful, until my knees gave out and I collapsed onto the sand. Water, I needed water. Lisa poked the back of my neck. At least she was still alive.
I raised my head and stared ahead of me. My eyes widened slowly, water! A gorgeous oasis was in the distance! I tried crawling forward, but my strength failed me and my poor face rushed to meet the sand.
Darkness rushed to meet me.
Something poked my side, causing me to groan softly. Gone was the feeling of sand, replaced with something hard. Opening my eyes slowly, I was greeted to the sight of the bright blue sky, the clouds rushing past us.
"Ah, you're awake." A powerful voice said. I sat up quickly, Lisa crawling back onto my shoulder. Staring straight at me, was a man seated on a throne with two large plumes coming up from his head, with the face of a beautiful eagle.
"A-Am I dead?" I asked slowly. Standing next to the eagleman was another man, with the face of an animal that looked similar to a dog. Looking around slowly, more people with animal heads were staring at me. It seemed that we were on some type of boat.
"Of course not, young goddess." Eagleman said with a kind voice. Dogman held a large stick in his hand, which meant he must've been the one to poke me. At least he didn't use the pointy end.
"Who are you-"
"You stand before Amun-Ra, King of the realm of the Living, god of the noon sun and creation…" Dogman interrupted me as he started listing various titles I couldn't be bothered to remember.
"Peace Set." Amun-Ra said to the Dogman.
"As you say your Majesty." Set the Dogman saluted and took a step back. Standing up from his throne, Amun-Ra approached me. Scrambling to my knees, I tried to avoid his gaze. These people saved me.
"What is your name young one?"
"I-I don't remember…" I said clenching my fist. "I don't remember anything…"
"Look at me child." Amun-Ra said softly. Looking up slowly, his face looked at me with compassion. "We shall help you."
He turned to Set. "Contact Isis once we return. She should be able to help the child."
"I'm not a child!" I grunted through my teeth. Set looked angry and was about to admonish me when Amun-Ra raised a hand.
"When you're as old as me, everyone is a child, child." Amun-Ra gave me a grin. "Still, I can't keep calling you child. It's rude after all."
This time I kept quiet. Amun-Ra patted my head softly and spoke.
"I shall name you Khepri."

OI. Why Taylor doesn't remember here will be explained later along with how she regained her memories.
Why Taylor didn't just create an oasis, well, she has no memories. What did you expect? You want Taylor to solo everyone as the magical genius she is while building a harem full of waifus?
Yeah that's not gonna happen.
By the way, I'll show POVs from LO characters since the webtoon tends to show other POVs aside from Hades and Persephone to build up those characters.
Anyways, I finally said goodbye to my Grandma. She's in a hospice now, but I don't know how long she has left. Don't worry. I have made my peace with it. (We weren't that close but she's still family.)
Also, if anyone is bored or lonely and wants to talk to someone, I'm here. Don't be scared I won't bite.
