Chapter 6 Quizzes and Competition
The next day, Ash and Alice decide to visit the Trainer's School. Alice says, "I remember that in Viridian City, there is a Trainer School that teaches everything about Pokemon, right?"
"Yeah. Though I have never been there since I think that practical experiences are enough." Ash says.
As they enter the school, the receptionist says, "Welcome to Cianose Trainer School! Class is currently in session so be mindful not to cause a disturbance. Thanks, and enjoy your time at our institution."
Ash looks at the door and he says, "Hey, Alice. There is a tournament, how about you try to enter it?"
"Me? Are you sure about that?" Alice asks with a nervous tone. Ash says, "Trust me, you can be a good battler."
Alice can only sigh as they go sign up for the tournament. The boy says, "The winner of the tournament is a Marble. We have only five people right now though, want to be the sixth so we have an even number?"
"Of course." Alice says.
The tournament seems tough for Alice, as she tells Ash that she has never won a match before. But Ash's encouragement causes her to win her first battle against a trainer, and with confidence, she also wins against two more and she is the new champion.
"I did it!" Alice hugs Ash with joy, causing the two of them to blush. The boy says, "It kind of stings having to give it up to an outsider when we're the ones who found it, but here."
As he gives them a Marble, Alice says, "I wonder what we can do with this?"
"Who knows, maybe there is something important about this one." Ash says.
After the tournament, Ash and Alice head to the Quiz Room, Ash says, "I think I want to try out the tests, I think I can get a high score."
"Really? I will like to see how well you are." Alice says as they get the papers, since they are not students, so they can discuss the questions and answers on their own.
"The first five questions are related to types." Alice says, "Let's see...Q1. Which type is immune to the effects of spores and powders?"
"This is easy, Grass Type is the one." Ash says, "Q2. Which of these moves are Normal Type?"
Alice says, "Bite is Dark Type, Sweet Kiss is Fairy Type, Nuzzle is Electric, so the answer is Dizzy Punch." Alice says. "Q3. Which of these type combinations has a double weakness?"
Ash says, "Fighting and Dark are both weak to Fairy, and that is also the Q4, as it asks Which are Fighting and Dark both weak to."
"Now the final one, which item can bypass type immunities? Assault Vest, Ring Target, Luminous Moss or Weakness Policy?"
"That's Ring Target." Ash says. "The next type of questions is related to Abilities. Q6. Which of these abilities can heal status problems?"
"That will be Shed Skin." Alice says. "Q7 Which of these Pokemon has the ability Forecast ability, allowing it to change forms with the weather?"
"Castform, that's an easy one." Ash says. "Q8. Which of these abilities DOESN'T involve damaging the opponent? Rough Skin, Static, Iron Barbs or Aftermath?"
"That will be Static, it only paralyzes." Alice adds, "Q9. Which of these Pokemon weak to Ground takes no damage from Ground Type moves due to its ability?"
"Rotom has the Levitate Ability." Ash says, "And Q10. How do we change the Pokemon's ability?"
"Use an Ability Capsule." Alice says, "Now we finished the Abilities one, the next one is going to be General Knowledge. Q11. Which of the Pokeballs have a high chance of catching a Pokemon at night or in caves?"
"That will be Dusk Ball. Q12. Which of these Pokemon is notorious for blocking places off when it sleeps?" Ash asks.
"Snorlax, considering it happens at Route 12 in Kanto." Alice sighs. "Q13. Ceolis has 18 gyms, but how many do most other regions have?"
"That is simple, 8 is the answer." Ash says. "I have participated in the leagues before. Q14. Why isn't the normal teacher here today?"
"How am I supposed to know that?" Alice asks, but then they hear a lot of students talking in the hallway, and she says, "Wait, I think it is because of her birthday."
"Okay...I trust you on this one." Ash says. Alice says, "Q15. What means "I Love You" in Venusaur?"
"Sawr..." Ash says with a tone that causes Alice to blush, then she shakes her head and says, "Ash, let's not joking."
"Sorry, but the rest of the 40 are related to regions...I think I can handle these." Ash says.
"Okay, I'll trust you, the first five are from Kanto. Q16. What is a popular hangout spot for Clefairy?" "The answer is Mt. Moon, I have seen it there."
"Q17. What did Team Rocket want to take over?" "The Silph Co. S.S. Anne is a close one, but I know it is not the answer."
"Q18. When Koga was promoted to Elite 4, who became Fuchsia's new Gym Leader?" "His daughter Janine."
"Q19. What does Silph Co. create?" "A Master Ball, it can capture every Pokemon without struggle."
"Q20. What does Lorelei of Kanto's original Elite 4 lineup do in her spare time?" "I have met her once and she told me she likes to collect plushies."
"Johto is next, Q21. What are the dancers of Ecruteak City called?" "The Kimono Girls, each of them have an Eevee."

"Q28. In which place do challengers try to get past placed obstacles and reach the end of each room to outwit the owner?" "That is the Trick House."
"Q29. Where can Glacia sometimes be found in Mauville?" "I think it is the Food Court, I remember we saw the news from Hoenn before."
"Q30. What is the name of the tribe of Dragon trainers who live in Meteor Falls?" "The Draconoids." Ash says. "I heard them stopping a meteor with Rayquaza a few years ago."
"Sinnoh is going to be next. Q31. How does Crasher Wake's theme song begin?" "That was a hard one. I remember it is The ring is my rolling sea."
"I am not sure about that. Q32. If you want to see rare Pokemon, who would you find?" "I remember that Mr. Backlot has a lot of rare Pokemon."
"Q33. What does Cynthia like to study?" "Pokemon mythology, I mean, it is quite obvious."
"Q34. Which of the two facilities do the Hoenn and Sinnoh Battle Frontiers have in common?" "They have the Battle Tower and the Battle Factory."
"Q35. What attributes do the Pokemon Uxie, Mesprit and Azelf represent?" "Knowledge, Emotion and Will. I remember that Azelf has been my partner for once."
"Okay. I want to know about that in the future. Unova is the fifth one. Q36. What's the name of the bridge that connects Pinwheel Forest to Castelia City?" "That will be the Skyarrow Bridge."
"Q37. PWT, where trainers gather from all over to compete, stands for what?" "Pokemon World Tournament."
"Q38. Nimbasa City has a sports stadium, Pokemon Musical, coaster, a gym, the Battle Subway, and what other attraction?" "The Ferris Wheel."
"Q39. What is the notable accomplishment of the one called Charles the Heartbreaker?" "I met him once before with his Accelgor. That answer is Triple and Rotation Battles."
"Q40. What does Shauntal the Elite 4 use as an inspiration for her stories?" "Her challengers. Though I have never met her before."
"Okay. Now let's go to Kalos. Q41. Who created the Holo Caster?" "That will be Team Flare's boss, Lysandre."
"The one who tried to kidnap you on top of Lumiose Tower, I have seen that on news. Q42. Where is Valerie originally from?" "She is from Johto, though I don't know where."
"Q43. Why was the coal mine in Terminus Cave terminated?" "Rumors of the monster, which is actually Zygarde."
"Q44. What did AZ spend 3000 years looking for?" "His Eternal Flower Floette."
"Q45. In Lumiose City, there have been reports of a building where the girl suddenly appears, says a phrase, and glides away. What does she tell those who see her?" Ash thinks for a second and says, "I think Clemont told me about this story before...I think it is: You're not the one."
"That sounds scary." Alice sighs. "But let's not think of it. The next one is Alola. You are the Champion, so it should be easy for you."
"Are you kidding me? I was the World Monarch." Ash says. Alice sighs, "Q46. Which Poke Ride Pokemon allows trainers to smash through rocks in the sea?" "That is Sharpedo. I remember it when I first step foot in Alola."
"Q47. What challenges await trial-goers at the end of each trial?" "The Totem Pokemon, they are really tough."
"Q48. Which delicacy is Alola known for?" "Malasadas, they taste great."
"Q49. Which mountain is the highest in Alola?" "Mt. Lanakila, that place is where we can find Ice Type Pokemon on tropical islands."
"Q50. What's the name of the organization that takes in and protects Pokemon?" "The Aether Foundation, the president and I have been friends as well."
"Really? But five more to go and we're done. Q51. What's the name of the sprawling section of the wildness that Galar is known for?" "The Wild Area."
"Q52. Which of these Pokemon have a Kantonian, Alolan and Galarian Form?" "That will be Meowth."
"Q53. In which city stadium does the Champion Cup take place?" "Wyndon, I remember that big stadium when I fought against Leon."
"Q54. What does Opal eat for breakfast every morning?" "Why is there that question? I remember that it is Cheese Omelettes and I answered it wrong to wear pink outfits by her."
"Wearing in pink, huh? But here is the final one. What is the name of the Galar's Pokemon-only band?" "The Maximizers. But that's all the questions."
"You're not joking when you said that you know all the quizzes." Alice says.
After giving the test to the teachers, he is delighted and he asks them to keep a Pokemon that they found from the students, and it is actually a Litten. Alice volunteers to take care of it, much to the teacher's delight.
"Wow, what a day. I mean, I won the tournament and get a mysterious Marble, and then you finished the quizzes so I got a Litten in the end. You really are smart."
"Well, I am not that smart, it is just that I remembered all my journeys in the past." Ash says while rubbing his head, and Pikachu is nodding in agreement.
"If that's the case, how about we have a date in Cianosa Café?" Alice asks, and it causes the both of them to blush.
"Did I just say that?" Alice mutters in embarrassment, and Ash says, "Wait, Alice. I think I want to try it out with you."
This causes the both of them to scream inside their head, does that mean they are going on a date this night?
