Captain America: The First Avenger

Harry Potter sighed, rubbing the bridge of his nose as he looked back on the past year. His company was doing fine and strong given the new release of wireless cellphones and watches, as well as the release of the CDT and CFA Model II's. Steve's new suit was working perfectly alongside his shield, magnets being attached to his left forearm and back to hold onto his shield. The thing that was bothering him was the suicide mission Steve wanted to go on to put an end to Red Skull, who had been involved in the 'death' of Bucky Barnes three months before. It had been a hard time for all of them, given how no body had been recovered for the funeral. It had been hard on Steve, who vowed to put an end to HYDRA.

He had volunteered to help the man, offering Steve Harry's time, money, and resources to ensure that the Howling Commando's mission was a success. It didn't help that the entire thing was stupid, but a quick look into the future eluded that the plan did indeed work and the Red Skull was killed. Sitting up in the seat at his desk, Harry turned to the door on his right, opposite of the elevator. It contained two special devices he had created that would be used in exactly four days after the battle. If all went well, he could be himself again in the span of a week. Whole...new. Complete.

Captain America: The First Avenger

"Ok boys, listen up!" Harry shouted, his shield and axe in hand as he addressed the Steve and the other Howling Commando's. They were position on the cliffside just west of the HYDRA Headquarters, overlooking the windows looking into the Red Skull's armory, where he was currently located. "Steve and I will go in through the east side, causing as much havoc as possible in order to get captured. They'll take us to Red Skull, where he will interrogate us for some sort of information. Once you get the cue, repel down and go through the window. Once your through, Agent and her troops will entered through the south, clearing the way before rendezvousing with us in the northern corridor leading to the hangar. If Red Skull gets away, he'll be going there. Understood?" Harry asked.

"Yes sir," The Commando's chorused in reply. Harry swung his shield over his shoulder, the magnet on his back catching it as Harry grabbed Steve's shoulder. "You ready, Cap?" Steve nodded, determination in his eyes as his gaze fell on the HYDRA base. With a burst of flames, Harry and Steve appeared on the front lawns of the base, directly in the center of over a dozen HYDRA soldiers. Harry grabbed his shield from his back, running off towards the door as he swung both it and the axe in opposite directions, sending a Bombarda Maxima! to the left as a handful of HYDRA troops went flying.

Sliding beneath a high-sitting truck, Harry caught his shield, slamming it into a soldier before tossing it towards a group off in the distance. He was about to behead a trooper to his right when he found himself suddenly surrounded by HYDRA soldiers wearing flamethrower arms. He backed into Steve, who had been caught in the circle as well. Harry slammed his axe into the dirt, placing his shield onto his back while Steve did the same, tossing his gun to the ground. Four HYDRA troops moved forward, slapping handcuffs on both of their wrists as the were pulled away and into the base. They were shoved down the hallway, into an elevator, and into another hallway, before they were led into the Red Skull's armory.

"Well, well, well. If it isn't America's boys in black and blue," Red Skull spoke as Harry and Steve were pushed forward. The came to a stop, the HYDRA soldiers backing away while Red Skull examined the two, taking in their enhanced physical shape with a scowl. "Arrogance may not be an uniquely American trait, but I must say you do it better than anyone. But there are limits to what even you two can do. Or did Erskine tell you otherwise?"

"Well, I'm British. Makes your statement kind of stupid," Harry replied.

"And he told me you were insane," Steve added. Red Skull scoffed, shaking his head as he turned towards his troops, his scowl deepening as he spoke. "He resented my genius and tried to deny me what was rightfully mine. But he gave you two everything. So, what made you so special compared to me? Your money? Perhaps something else...like magic?" Harry sent the man a glare, his fists clenching as the HYDRA troops cautiously stepped closer. "Ah...so my suspicions were merited. How have you come across such an ability? Perhaps a greater entity? Or something much more...powerful,"

"Magic is something within you. You can't mimic it," Harry replied. "And I didn't get my strength from Erskine. I got it from people like you, who pushed people to desperation. Forcing children into wars that they have no part in,"

"Hmm...and you Captain? Why would Erskine choose someone like you?"

"I don't know. I'm just a kid from Brooklyn," Steve replied. Red Skull's scowl deepened in rage as he backhanded Steve, grabbing his shoulder as he punched Steve in the stomach. Steve had fallen to his knees, receiving a fist to the face. Breathing heavily, Steve spoke. "I can do this all day," Red Skull grinned, turning around as he grabbed a HYDRA pistol from the table nearby. "Oh, of course you can. Of course. But unfortunately I am on a tight schedule," He held it towards Steve first, the pistol charging with energy as he looked out the window, nodding. The Howling Commando's caught the signal, beginning to grapple down as Harry held up his hand, addressing Red Skull with a smile.

"I think you should know two things about magic, Schmidt. One; It favors loyalty greatly. And two; it doesn't like when its host is threatened. If anything, it hates that," Harry puffed out his chest, a burst of magic shooting out as Red Skull and his troops were sent flying back. Steve remained still, slowly getting to his feet as the Howling Commando's slammed through the glass windows, entering the room as Harry sent a wide-scale cutting curse at the downed HYDRA troops, beheading them all in one swipe as Steve caught the shield thrown to him by Falsworth, rushing off to catch a fleeing Red Skull while Harry held out his hand, summoning his axe from the front lawns as it slammed through the steel walls of the facility and into his hand. "General! We need reinforcements!" Jones exclaimed as dozens of HYDRA troops entered the weapons lab.

Protego Diabolic! Harry cast, swinging his arm as a wave of black and blue fire suddenly spread around them. He expelled it out, vaporizing the entirety of the enemy forces around them. With the path cleared, Harry rushed into the hallway, his axe and shield in hand as he followed Steve's path, coming to a stop as gunfire spread through the hallway in front of him. He cast a shield around himself, moving to the left where regular bullet fire was coming from. He found Peggy there, leading her own squad of troops under the supervision of Colonel Philips. He threw his axe towards the opposing HYDRA troops, before turning to Peggy. "Where's Steve? He ran through here,"

"He went that way!" Peggy replied, motioning to his left. Harry nodded, turning to leave only for Peggy to grab hold of his sleeve, spinning him around before grabbing his collar. She pulled him down, kissing him passionately as he returned it, dropping his axe as he grabbed her waist, HYDRA energy blasts slamming into his shield from behind as he remained blissfully unaware. Once they pulled away from each other, Peggy spoke in a whisper. "Be careful Harry. Come back," Harry nodded, kissing her once more before summoning his axe to hand, beheading a HYDRA soldier before taking off at a sprint after Steve. The grip on it was tight as he slammed through a steel door, moving down the stairwell and into the hangar. He could see Steve dangling from a fallen wire, swinging towards the large plane - the Valkyrie - as a large battle occurred beneath him.

Harry swung his axe, throwing it as it began to spiral forward, slamming into the mid-right wheel of the ship. It slumped to the right as it pushed forward, with Steve pushing forward. A car rushed passed Harry, speeding forward as it slowed to a stop next to Steve, who jumped in as it shot off, rushing forward as a booster pushed it forward towards the plane. It pulled up behind the mid-left wheel. Steve jumped up, grabbing hold of it as the plane began to pull up, the wheel being pulled into the body. Harry apparated into the car, appearing next to Peggy as she jumped in surprise. "He's in there alone with a dozen HYDRA troopers and Red Skull. I'm gonna try to follow and give assistance,"

"How do you plan on doing that? Your cars back in New York," Philips pointed out.

"I don't need a car to fly," Harry spoke, kicking off of the car as he began to slowly float, black mist coming off of his cloak as he turned to Peggy. "I'll try to come back. But if I don't make it, I want you to know -" Peggy cut him off as she grabbed hold of his hand, her thumb hovering over his wrist as she nodded. Harry smiled, glad she understood as he shot into the air, taking off after the Valkyrie. He moved below the ship, swinging his axe upwards as a large hole was formed. Harry flew into the hole, flying up onto a catwalk. He dropped to his feet, looking down to find a flying bomb rush past, being flown by...Steve. Odd. He turned, rushing towards the bridge. When he entered, he found Red Skull at the pilots seat, priming Autopilot before spinning around.

"Ah...the magician. Come to give me another lesson on magic?" Red Skull asked, pulling out his pistol, which he fired at Harry. Harry raised his shield, blocking the gunfire before flinging his axe toward Red Skull, who was only barely able to dodge the swing as it cut his right arm, slamming through the glass before falling down to the ocean below. Harry ran forward, tackling Schmidt to the ground as he punched the Nazi in the stomach, trying to get to his feet only for Schmidt to kick him in the face, sending Harry back as he dropped his shield. "Someone with so much power. So weak," Schmidt spoke, picking up his pistol, which he aimed down at Harry.

"Oh, I know...but I had a feeling I'd have some help," Harry replied. At that second, two things occurred at the same time. A red, silver, and blue shield slammed into the side of Red Skull's head, sending him flying to the side as a shot rang through the air, hitting Harry in the chest. He slumped to the ground, groaning in pain as the energy from the gun sizzled, eating away at his skin and muscle. The shot would normally vaporize someone, but given his healing factor it had stopped at vaporizing the skin and muscle around the wound. He grabbed hold of his chest, groaning as the pain slowly came to him. Harry was forced to watch as Steve and Schmidt fought. Harry crawled back, leaning against the device that held the Tesseract. The vapor was eating away towards his heart, and even more advanced healing spells couldn't save him from this. Shit.

Just when he thought he was dead, Red Skull slammed against the central device, breaking it as the Tesseract fell out. Cosmic energy pulsed all around, hitting Harry as he screamed. The energy spread up the vapor, causing it to eat away at him at an increased rate. He fell forward onto his side, groaning in pain as he began to loop in and out of consciousness. Harry could feel energy coursing in and around him, and could hear the scream of Schmidt, but he was left unaware of anything as darkness overtook him. With one last breath, Harry slumped onto the floor.

Captain America: The First Avenger

Steve Rogers watched Schmidt vaporize to dust, a bright blue light shooting into the cosmos above before everything returned to normal. The cube that Schmidt had been holding fell to the floor, burning through it before dropping through the bottom, falling to the ocean below. Steve turned to his friend Harry Potter, who lay slumped over on the floor, clutching his chest...unresponsive. Steve rushed forward, tossing his shield to the side as he grabbed hold of Harry, turning him over. He almost wished he hadn't given the sight. Harry's entire chest was eaten through, revealing his bones below as well as a lot of blood. Steve didn't bother checking for a pulse as he fell back in shock. Harry was dead.

"God..." Steve whispered, unable to speak. In the span of six months he had lost his two best friends. His longest friend Bucky and now his newest friend. "Peggy," Steve spoke in shock. What would she say? Steve slowly got to his feet, stumbling past Harry as he fell into the pilots seat. He examined the terminal, the wind in his face as he sighed. The plane was headed for New York City with dozens of bombs on board. Four of the eight engines were down, and two of the landing gear were down. He couldn't land the plane in the arctic, and he sure couldn't let the plane get to its destination. He turned to the radio, and patched it into the HYDRA base, where was sure someone was waiting for him. "Come in. This is Captain Rogers. Do you read me?" He asked.

"Captain Rogers, what is your -" Morita was cut of by Peggy, who jumped onto the call. "Steve, are you alright? Is Harry there?" Steve grimaced, looking back to see that Harry was where he left him, his eyes open as they looked up towards the roof. Steve turned back to the controls, taking a deep breath. "Peggy...Harry didn't make it...I'm sorry," He remained silent for a moment as he continued. "Schmidt's dead and the plane has half its engines down. If I try to land this thing it isn't going to be pretty," Steve explained. "But I can force it down into the water. I'm far enough away that if the bomb goes off there won't be any casualties,"

"Except for you," Peggy spoke, clearly not liking the idea. It was clear she had been crying on the other end, emotion present in her voice as she spoke. "I can get Howard on the line. He'll know what to do," She added.

"There's not enough time. This thing's moving too fast and it's headed for New York," Steve watched as the Valkyrie pushed through the clouds, an Arctic ice-shelf coming into view. He looked back at Harry's body, trying to come up with something. He couldn't jump from the plane. He would be caught in the draft caused by the plane's propellers. And he was already past putting it in the water. If he repositioned the plane down at this point, he would slam into the ice. Die by splattering against the ice without a parachute, or put the plane down in the ice...it was simple. "I got to put it down," Steve spoke.

"Please Steve, don't do this. We have time. We can work it out. Bring you both home," Peggy replied. Steve closed his eyes, breathing in deeply as he spared another look back at Harry. "We're in the middle of nowhere, Peggy. If I wait any longer a lot of people are gonna die. Harry would do the same thing," He knew it was a low-blow using Harry's morale compass. But Peggy knew Steve was right. Two lives against millions. There wasn't any math in that. Steve didn't need another minute to think. He pushed down on the controls, the nose bending down as the Valkyrie flew towards the Arctic shelf. "Peggy...if I don't make it...if I don't make it. Tell Rac-" Steve never got to finish as the plane slammed into the ground, ending the transmission. Peggy leaned back, tears in her eyes. Harry and Steve were gone.

Captain America: The First Avenger Post Credit Scene

Steve Rogers slowly opened his eyes, blinking a few times as his most recent memories came to mind. Bucky was dead...Harry was dead...he was dead. Was he dead? He was looking up at the white ceiling, and could feel his body. He was alive...he thought. Slowly sitting up in the bed, Steve took a look around. There was a radio discussing a game...a game that had taken place four years before. He had visited the game with Bucky...it had been a good game. There was a woman in the room with him. A nurse. She was watching him, something in her hand as she spoke. "Good morning. Or should I say, afternoon?" She asked, a warm smile on her face as he frowned, unsure of what was going on.

"Where am I?"

"You're in a recovery room in New York City," The nurse replied. She was lying. He could feel it.

"Where am I really?" Steve asked, getting to his feet. The nurse backed away, pressing the device as Steve stepped closer.

"I'm afraid I don't understand,"

"The game, it's from May, 1941. I know, cause I was there," He took another step closer, peering down at her as his anger got the better of him. His friend had just died and he was confused and lost. Her lying to him wasn't really helping. "Now, I'm gonna ask you again. Where am I?" Two soldiers suddenly entered the room, causing Steve to jump into action. He rushed forward, slamming them through the wall as he ran into a silver hallway. He looked back, finding the other side of the wall being made of unpainted wood. He had been in some set of some kind. He was being tricked. "Captain Rogers, wait!" The nurse shouted. "All agents, code 13! I repeat. All agents, code 13!"

Steve took off at a sprint, dodging and weaving through 'agents' as he ran forward, careless to the fact he was barefoot as he stumbled out of the building. Instead of the barren city he had expected to see, this city was filled with bright colors, hover-cars and hover-bikes, drones, screens on the buildings. So much happening so fast. Steve heard yelling from behind him, urging him to sprint forward down the street in confusion, looking around trying to determine where he was. He slowed to a stop, confused as a dozen black cars surrounded him, soldiers from before pouring out as a voice rang through the air. "At ease, soldier! Look, I'm sorry about that little show back there, but… we thought it best to break it to you slowly," A black man with an eye-patch spoke.

"Break what?" Steve asked.

"You've been asleep, Cap. For almost seventy years," The man spoke. Steve's eyes widened, his hand falling on his left wrist, where his watch was located. He pulled it off, peering down at the bottom, where an inscription was located. 'Till death do us part. Your love, Rachel'. Steve smiled painfully. If it was true, she was long gone. "You gonna be okay?"

"Yeah," Steve replied slowly, clutching the watch tightly as he closed his eyes. He needed to think.
