Chapter 6

Together Again

It was a long flight back to Duckburg. By the time Launchpad landed the Sunchaser in front of McDuck Manor, the sky was dark. Everyone got off the plane, each of them feeling exhausted.

"What an adventure! That was one of our most dangerous adventures ever." Scrooge breathed a sigh of relief.

Beakly nodded. "Yes. I'm just glad that it is all over. It seems to be getting late now, so I suggest that everyone should go to sleep now."

After the intense adventure that they had, going to sleep was the first thing that came to everyone's mind. Everyone soon returned to their rooms in the mansion to get a goodnight's sleep.

A few hours had passed and Lena wasn't able to fall asleep. Since she knew that she wasn't going to sleep anytime soon, Lena decided to take a walk outside the mansion. When she was halfway to the front door, Lena came across a familiar face.

"Webby?"

The young duck turned around and greeted her girlfriend with a smile. "Hi, Lena!"

"I guess that you can't sleep either." Lena guessed.

"No. It's kind of hard for me to sleep after I have been kidnapped a couple of days ago." Webby explained.

After a few moments of silence, Lena came up with an idea "Hey, how would you like to take a walk outside with me? I could use the company."

"Sure! I would love that!" Webby replied with a smile.

Soon, Webby and Lena walked outside the mansion as they got a good view of the bright stars in the sky. As they looked at the sky, Webby and Lena held each others hand. After a few moments of appreciating this beautiful night, Webby decided to break the silence.

"You know, I'm jealous that you and the others got to go on an amazing adventure! It must have been really cool!"

"To be honest, it wasn't as fun as you might think." Lena admitted. "Throughout the entire adventure, I was scared that I might lose you."

Webby began to feel sorry for her girlfriend. She couldn't imagine how Lena felt throughout the adventure.

"Oh, Lena! I'm so sorry that you went through all of that, but I'm here for you now!" Webby grabbed both of Lena's hands as she stared at her girlfriend in the eye. "There is nothing to worry about anymore. We are together again, and nothing would ever separate us!"

For the first time in a long time, Lena felt that she had nothing left to worry about. Just being here with Webby was enough for Lena to be happy.

"Thanks, Webby! I'm happy to be with you again!" Lena smiled.

"Me too, Lena!" Webby replied.

It wasn't long before Webby suddenly let out a yawn.

"Feeling tired, Pink?"

Webby nodded. "Yeah. Guess we should go to sleep soon. Goodnight, Lena!"

"Goodnight, Webby!"

Before they left, Webby and Lena kissed each other goodnight.

The next morning, Webby and Lena were playing games with their friends. It wasn't long before everyone took notice of a car pulling up to the mansion. Lena and Violet knew that it meant that their dads were ready to pick them up. Once the car stopped, Ty and Indy walked out the car. Both, Lena and Violet were happy to see their dads again as their dads gave them hugs.

"Thank you so much for watching over our daughters, Mr. McDuck." Ty thanked Scrooge.

"We trust that you didn't go anywhere dangerous while we were gone." Indy hope.

"Of course not, Mr. Sabrewing!" Scrooge lied. "It was just a boring couple of days at the mansion, right kids?"

Lena and her friends soon smiled at one another before Lena replied, "Uh, yeah! We were just hanging out at the mansion."

"I see. Well, we'd better get going. It's going to be a long drive back home." Ty explained.

"Well, it was nice spending time with you guys. I hope to see you all again soon." Violet told her friends. "Let's go, Lena."

"I'll be there in a minute, Violet. I just have something I need to do first." Lena told her adoptive sister.

With that, Lena approached Webby before they kissed each other goodbye.

"Well, I guess this is goodbye." Lena spoke up.

"Yeah. I hope that we'll be able to hang out with each other soon." Webby hoped. "Maybe we can have a sleepover next time you come over."

"That's a promise! I love you, Webby!" Lena smiled

"I love you too, Lena!"

After saying goodbye to their friends, Lena and Violet got in the car as their dads drove them back home. Lena looked back as Webby waved goodbye to her. As Scrooge's mansion disappeared in the distance, Lena started to rest in her seat as she was happily looking forward to the day that she would see Webby again.
