Kyo groaned when he woke up and heard the pattering of rain outside. He was grateful he didn't have to be at the Dojo today as he walked into the kitchen. He was greeted by his wife doing the dishes. "Where are the kids?" He asked groggily.

"Kazuya left early this morning to visit Hajime for a few days. I let you sleep in because of the weather today. Oh and I tried to wake Kyoko up but she struggles on these days just like you and Hajime. She'll probably wake up for you though!"

"I'll go get her." Kyo said and went back upstairs to their five year old daughters room. She was curled up in her bed, fast asleep. Kyo knelt down and gently brushed a bit of her orange hair out of her face. "Hey..." He whispered. She mumbled a complaint and turned over. "Come on. It's time to get up." Kyokos eyes fluttered open and frowned at him but still sat up. Kyo held out his arms and she sleepily climbed into them, laying her head on his shoulder. He carried her down stairs and put her down before rejoining Tohru in the kitchen. They watched as Kyoko sluggishly walked towards the table, dragging her favorite stuffed bear behind her, only to trip and fall flat on her face. 'Poor girl never had a chance...' He thought.

"Kyo-chan!" Tohru cried out in a panic which made Kyo groan.

"That nickname again..." Kyoko sniffled.

"Daddyyyyy..." She whined in a sad voice. Her father sighed but smiled and walked over to help her up.

"You okay?" He asked. She nodded slowly and yawned. Tohru walked over and knelt down to her daughters level.

"Are you hungry?" She asked. The girl nodded. "What would you like?" Kyoko thought for a second.

"Can I have Omurice?" Tohru nodded with a smile.

"Coming right up!" She replied cheerfully. "What about you Kyo? What do you want to eat?" He sat down at the Kotatsu next their daughter.

"Rice and fish?" He replied.

"You got it!" She said and went to make their food. Kyo looked Kyoko as her eyes drooped. She yawned and climbed onto his lap then curled up before falling asleep. He pulled the cloth up to her shoulder like a blanket. He looked down at her and watched her even breathing. Suddenly his eyes stung and his throat felt dry. He rubbed his hands through her orange hair then felt a pair of arms wrapping around his neck and the pressure of his wife laying her head against his back. Kyo reached up and touched her hand with his own and smiled gently. They sat there for awhile, feeling a calm contentment wash over them.
