Okay, enough about my OC, let's focus on everyone evenly this chapter, especially Jake. And yes, there will be more mature themes as promised. Enjoy!

It was Friday, the day Jake had to turn in his English homework he's been working hard on; it was also a day before he could see Rose again.
The boy tossed and turned happily in his bed. He hugged his sheets, fast asleep with a content smile on his face. It was 4AM and still had much more sleep to spend until his phone rang. All good things must come to an end.
He groaned, facing away from the nightstand where his phone vibrated. He finally fluttered his eyes open, squinting to see. The moon was still out and shining in his face. Jake rolled over and felt the warmth of his blankets leave him when he stuck out his hand to reach his cellphone.
"Hello?" he croaked.
"Jake? You're awake!"
He asked, "Spud?"
"Yeah, uh, I-I need your help, man. I'm freaking out!" Spud bit his nails on the other end.
Jake stood up, alert and concerned for his friend. "What's up?"
Spud rocked back and forth on the balls of his feet. He spoke quickly, "I did a bad thing that felt good so maybe it was a good thing but the person I did it with might make it a bad thing and maybe I ruined everything but I don't kn-"
"Spud!" Jake whisper-shouted, not wanting to wake up his family. "Slow. Down."
"Sorry," he sighed. Spud began to explain the other night. All Jake could do was sit in his bed speechless; eyes getting wider each sentence his friend Spoke. "Jake?" Spud asked to make sure he didn't lose connection or something.
He stated, "I'm . . . I'm still here."
"Oh, good." It was silent once again. "You gonna say anything?"
Jake slid his free hand down his face. "I don't know if you'll like what I have to say," he muffled beneath his palm.
"Tell me. I can handle it."
Jake inhaled. He whispered as loud as a whisper can get, "You fucked our friend?!"
"Don't say it like that!" Spud winced.
"Fine: you slept with Alicia."
He sighed, "It was a in-the-moment thing, y'know?"
"No, I don't know." Jake got up and began to pace his room. "No offense, but do you even think?"
"I try not to. Unnecessary work for the brain."
"Spud! You gotta think at least sometimes!" He collapsed on his bed. "Please tell me you didn't get her pregnant."
"No no," Spud began, "she has this really cool spell. You see, you take the-"
"I don't want to know," Jake interrupted.
Meanwhile, Trixie was asleep in her bed. She was snuggled up with a teddy bear her dad sent, dreaming about a man that doesn't exist. She kept hearing her name being repeated over and over again. She giggled in her sleep. "Keep saying my name," she said out loud.
Alicia shook her a bit harder. "Wake up, Trixie!"
Trixie jumped out of her sleep to see the dark figure of her friend in her room. She was ready to scream when Alicia covered her mouth, assuring her it was just her friend. "What the hell- Ci Ci?" Trixie whispered. "How'd you get in here?"
"I floated to your window. You should really invest in some locks," she suggested.
Trixie sat up. "Look, you're my homegirl and all, but you cannot be sneaking up in my room like you some Romeo to my Juliet."
Alicia nodded. "You're right and I'm sorry I startled you. It's just . . . something big happened."
Trixie raised an eyebrow. "Are you alright?"
"Yeah, physically." Alicia sat down next to her friend. "Mentally, I'm doomed."
"Hey, what's goin' on?"
Alicia looked at Trixie seriously. "Promise not to tell."
"You know me I won't tell. But you better make it quick because it's-" she glanced at her digital clock, "4AM? Girl, you woke me up at 4AM?"
Alicia tried to smile as an apology.
Trixie shook her head. "This better be good."
Alicia fiddled her thumbs. "I might've done something I'll soon regret."
"Oh. My. God," Trixie said in awe. "You had sex with Brad, didn't you?"
Alicia clenched her teeth. "Wrong person."
Trixie gave her a confused look. "Wrong person-? What you mean wrong person?"
"I mean wrong person as in wrong person."
Trixie didn't get it. She kept looking at her until her eyes widened. "Please don't tell me it's a boy I know."
"A boy we're friends with."
"Alicia!" Trixie whined.
"Now I feel worse; you're calling me by my actual name."
She pleaded, "Please not one of my friends!"
Alicia looked at the floor. "Guess which one."
"Alicia!"
"Stop calling me that!"
"It was Spud, wasn't it?" Alicia didn't answer. Trixie took that as a definite yes. She yelled, "You had sex with Sp-"
She covered her mouth again. "Shut up! Won't your grandmother hear?"
She released her mouth. "Please, she'll sleep through anything. That's besides the point, you slept with Spud?"
"Things didn't work out with Brad the Jerk so Soud drove me home, next thing I know I'm giving him a house tour then I'm giving him a tour of . . . me." She sunk her head into her hands. "I can't believe I had sex with a guy I haven't even known for a week!"
Trixie crossed her arms over her tanktop. "You almost slept with Brad, a guy you've known for less than 24 hours."
She said through her fingers, "You have a point."
To Alicia's surprise, Trixie squealed, "So you're telling the truth? You're not lying?"
Alicia cocked her head. "You're not mad?"
"Of course not, this is the most interesting thing that's happened in awhile! And that's sayin' somethin' since I'm friends with someone who turns into a dragon-"
A dragon flew into the room from the window and landed on his stomach, returning to a human. It was extremely dark, but they knew it was Jake. Who else would it be? Unfortunately for Jake, he didn't know it wasn't just Trixie in the room.
"Trix, you'll never believe it," Jake started while brushing himself off. He turned around. "I just got off the phone with Spud. Him and Ci- Who's that?" He pointed to the second figure.
Trixie informed, "It's Ci Ci, idiot."
Jake laughed nervously. "Oh. Hi, Cia. Didn't know you beat me here."
Alicia leaned towards him on the bed. "Were you seriously about to tell Trixie I had sex with Spud?"
"I mean, uh, fancy seeing you here! What kind of spell got you to get into Trix's room?"
Alicia stood up. "Stop changing the subject, Jake!"
"Okay, yes! I tell Trix everything." He sighed, "My fault, no matter how close we are, I should've never shared your business like that."
"Who cares? What I care about is why are you creatures comin' through my window uninvited?" Trixie rhetorically asked.
"Creatures?" Jake repeated.
Alicia added, "I'm practically human!"
"And I'm practically kicking you both out right now," Trixie said. "Seriously, leave. Going to sleep is what humans do."
"Ha ha. So funny," Jake sarcastically remarked before he transformed into a dragon to leave.
"Sleep well, Trixie." Alicia blew a kiss before hopping out the window.
The four friends knew for a fact that day, Friday was bound to be an awkward day. Jake drowned that anxiety with the anticipation of seeing Rose again. It had been almost a year since he last saw her. This long distance relationship was getting to him. Of course, he tried to find loopholes. That's what Jake does best. He attempted teleportation and spells, even plainly flying to Hong Kong. Naturally, all those cheats blew up in his face.
Lao Shi taught him the excellence in patience. You never know why you're going through something and what lessons are in store for you. Unfortunately, it all flew over Jake's head and he had to learn the hard way.
That morning, Jake decided to actually sit and eat breakfast with his family. He only took cereal as a quick bite since he was considering walking to Trixie's house soon after. As bad as it sounds: he did not want to deal with Spud and Alicia's drama until they sort it out. Deep down inside, he knew that was not going to be the case.
He played around with his Fruit Loops. His spoon stirred the milk repetitively.
His father noticed his son's behavior and asked, "Jake, you feeling alright?"
He looked up at his dad. "Hm? Oh, yeah. I'm good."
"You sure? 'Cause first of all, you're eating with us," he chuckled. "Second of all, you look distracted."
Jake thought for a bit how even if they don't act like it, his parents were once teenagers as well. He could not deny it since he legitimately time traveled and saw it. He thought he could use their wisdom and maybe reveal a bit of his life to them.
"My friends . . ." Jake trailed off.
His parents lit up, hopeful their son was actually going to ask for advice from them. "Go on," his mother encouraged.
Jake didn't think this through since he just realized his friends' situation wasn't so PG and his little sister was sitting right next to him. "Two of my friends might've messed up their friendship and it'll make the whole group awkward."
"Did they get into an argument?" his mom asked.
"No," Jake started to play with his soggy cereal again, "if anything they got along too well."
"What is it , Jake? We gotta know in order to help." His dad did have a point.
"They got-" he glanced at his sister, "'involved' last night."
"They had sex?" Haley guessed. Everyone at the table gasped. Haley rolled her eyes. "They start sex education in elementary, you know. Besides, I'm not stupid. You should expect me to catch on."
They nodded at the reasonable response. Jake admitted, "Yeah, they did have sex."
His parents looked at one another, trying not to break their cool. "So," his dad tried to play off a little too cool, "Spud and Trixie finally hit it off to pound town?"
Jake cringed. Did his dad really just say "pound town"? "Dad, no! It was Spud and a new friend we made this week. Alicia. She moved in recently."
"Wait, they didn't even know each other for a full week?" his mom asked.
Jake shook his head no. "I don't know if they actually like each other or if it was just adrenaline. I'm guessing adrenaline. But I don't know what to do or tell them."
Jake's dad stated, "So that's why you're eating with us. You're avoiding them?"
Jake slouched, disappointed in himself that he needed to be in this kind of situation in order to eat with his family. "Yeah. Sorry."
"It's fine! You're a kid, that's what kids do."
His mom chimed in, "We're just really glad you came to us for advice."
Jake smiled sweetly at how considerate his parents were being. Maybe sometimes they were cool.
"So what should I do?" he asked them.
Jake's dad tapped his index finger on his chin. "This one's a tough one, I'll give you that. If it were me, I'd pretend nothing happened."
Jake cocked his head. "Really?"
"Yeah. It's their issue. It'll only get worse if you involve yourself. Just hang out with them today and don't bring it up unless they do. Maybe they'll realize they can be normal again even after what they did."
"Wow, Dad . . . That makes so much sense. I'll try it, thank you."
His dad kept his composure from reaching over the table and hugging his son. "It's no problem."
Jake glanced at the clock on the wall. "I gotta start moving now." He shoved a bunch of Fruit Loops into his mouth and waved goodbye as he ran out the door on his way to Trixie's.
Trixie was about to leave her front porch before she saw Jake running towards her. She was wearing black leggings and a long sleeve Vans shirt with her black and white checkered Vans ready to skate to school.
"Oh good, you didn't leave yet," Jake huffed and puffed, out if breath.
"Hey, Jakey. Why you runnin'?"
"I wanted to walk with you to school."
"Ohh. You could've just texted me, y'know."
Jake glanced at his pocket that had his phone in it. He laughed at himself. "You were always the smarter one."
The two began to make their way to school. They took their time to walk since they were still early. The friends took this time to catch up on each other, one on one. When they had nothing else much to say, Trixie asked, "So, have you talked with Spud?"
Jake shrugged. "Not since last night. Have you spoken to Alicia?"
She shook her head no. "Ugh," she slid her hands down her face, "why'd they have to go do that?"
"At least it wasn't Brad," Jake mentioned.
"Yeah. That'll kill you."
"My dad said to pretend nothing happened."
"You told your dad?"
"Not like I had much of a choice. Do you have any better ideas?" he teased.
Trixie rolled her eyes. "No. Pretending nothing happened sounds good."
By the time Trixie and Jake made it to their lockers at school, they still haven't seen Spud or Alicia. Jake rummaged through his unorganized locker. "Do you see them?" he asked Trixie.
She looked around the halls. "No."
Jake exhaled, "I hope they're not doing each other again."
Trixie held in a laugh and tried to respond maturely, "It's not like once you lose your virginity you become some sex addict. Besides, it was probably awkward and didn't feel that great since it was Spud's first time."
"You're probably right." Jake shut his locker.
"Damn, all the Spud slander."
The two turned around and yelled, "Spud!" in unison.
"I'll have you know," he continued, "that was the best feeling ever."
Trixie shushed him. "You're not supposed to say that!"
"I'm not?"
"No, that's rude."
Spud covered his mouth dramatically. "Shit, I didn't know. I'm kinda new to all this."
"We know," Jake scoffed, partly jealous Spud lost his before him.
"What should I say to her?" Spud asked his friends frantically, looking increasingly anxious.
Jake thought about what his dad advised. "Do what you feels right. It's between you two."
Spud nodded. "You're right."
"Have you seen Cia?" Trixie asked Spud.
"Not today, no."
The bell rang. Jake said, "It'll be okay, we have art with her anyway." He left with Trixie and the both of them waved to Spud.
As Jake stated, Alicia was the first one there. They saw their friend sitting at their table, smiling to herself. Kind of creepy, Jake thought.
They sat at the table. Jake eyed Trixie, as if to remind her not to bring up the elephant in the room. More and more students flooded the room.
"Ci Ci, you're glowing," Trixie complimented. Jake thought she was just saying that to start a conversation, but Alicia actually did look refreshed. As if she didn't sneak into a friend's window at 4AM.
"Thank you," she gushed.
The teacher began teaching her lesson. Since the three friends' table was in the back, they took that chance to use their phones without her noticing.
Alicia was scrolling through Instagram when a chime went off. She winced, gladly the teacher didn't hear the notification. She checked who it was. She tensed up. It was Spud.
It said, can we talk
Alicia typed back slowly, sure
im by the bathroom in the art wing
Alicia shot her hand up. "Can I use the bathroom?"
"Yes, you may."
Alicia speed walked out the room and down the hall. There stood Spud, wearing a Nikes hoodie and grey sweatpants. Again, Alicia's body tensed up. She waved, trying not to glance down at his pants.
"Hey," he greeted. "About last night . . ."
"I'm sorry!" Alicia said. "It was my fault. I kissed you."
"No," Spud placed his hands on both of her shoulders, "we kissed each other."
Alicia didn't know what to say. His face was inches away from her's. She couldn't think straight. This is what she feared, she feared never seeing Spud the same way.
For the short time she knew Spud he was pretty carefree. Didn't think much and didn't stress about life, unlike Alicia who overthinks everything. She admired that. But now it seems she broke him because as she looked into his eyes she could see he was extremely nervous.
Alicia looked up at his hair. "You're not wearing a beanie today."
Spud didn't move, still keeping his hands on her shoulders. "You like it?"
"Yeah, it looks good."
He looked her up and down. She was wearing a plaid dressed that hugged her body. She may or may not have worn it for him. "You don't look so bad yourself," Spud commented while licking his lips. That's all Alicia needed.
"You know how you said we kissed each other last time?" she asked. Spud nodded. "You can blame this one on me, 'kay?"
He raised an eyebrow. "What do you m-!" The rest of his sentence muffled as Alicia planted her lips on his. Unlike last night, this was a short kiss. Alicia backed up into the girl's bathroom, waving her fingers to gesture for him to follow her.
Trixie tapped her foot impatiently while Jake talked about seeing Rose and not having to dragon up much recently.
"I'm telling you, Trix," Jake beamed, "life might actually get better for me. I can see it now- Trix, are you even listening?"
"Where is Ci Ci?" she grumbled.
"Bathroom, didn't you hear?"
"Yeah, but homegirl's been in there for too long!"
Jake slumped into his seat feeling relaxed. "Maybe she has girl problems. Not that you'd know, Trix," he teased. She threw an eraser at his head. "Ow!" Jake fake pouted.
"Don't think that'll make me feel bad. And I am very much a girl, thank you very much," she huffed.
"Mhmm, whatever you say. Why do you care so much about where Cia is, anyway?"
"Because I have to pee and she's taking centuries!" Trixie whispered.
"Just ask if you could go anyway," he suggested.
Trixie rolled her eyes. "She's gonna say no."
"Ayo, Ms. B!" Jake called.
Their teacher exhaled patiently. "Yes, Jake?"
"Jake!" Trixie tried to shut him up.
"Trixie has to pee and Cia's taking forever." Several students chuckled.
"Oh, um, I guess it has been long, hasn't it? Trixie you may go. Check on Alicia for me as well."
Trixie fake smiled and thanked Ms. B for letting her go despite the one-person-at-a-time rule. Trixie looked back at Jake and glared at him for telling her business in front of the class.
Jake sang, "You're welcome!" as his friend walked away from the table.
She shook her head and mouthed, "I hate you."
"Love you, too," he joked.
Trixie jogged to the bathroom. She sighed, relieved to finally use the bathroom. She walked through the open door and heard rustling which immediately ended the second she was in the room. "Hello?" she called. "Cia, you in here?"
There was a moment of silence before Alicia answered, "Uh, yeah!"
"Oh, okay." Trixie walked into the first stall. "Girl, I've been waiting for you for like 10 minutes to use the bathroom."
"My bad," she responded breathily.
Trixie paused closing her stall door, concerned. "You good?"
"Yeah, fine." Alicia still sounded out of breath.
"You don't sound fine," Trixie walked out her stall. "Are you sick? Don't tell me you're bulimic throwin' up in there-"
"She said she's fine!" a male voice told her, sounding panicked.
"Spud?" Trixie yelled in disbelief. She marched over to the last stall and knocked three times.
"Why would you say that, I told you I got this!" Alicia scolded.
"My bad, I freaked."
"You got five seconds to get yo selves together before I break this shit down," Trixie demanded. "5, 4, 3, . . ." The two teens shuffled, attempting to make theirselves presentable. "2, 1!" Trixie lifted the stall door to undo the lock and opened it to- no surprise- Spud and Alicia.
The two on each sides of the stall, apart from one another like it was the plague. Alicia's dress was on backwards and Spud's hair was a mess. They both smiled unconvincingly.
"I can't leave you two alone for one minute! You two are so . . . so . . ." she trailed off and pointed at them. "Ugh! You are lucky I have to pee!" Trixie stomped off back into the first stall and slammed the door.
By the end of the school day, Jake knew. Jake had no choice to know, Trixie was furious. Still not having the words to describe how she felt about it, she replaced that with telling the two how stupid they were.
On their way home, when Trixie was truly at a loss for words, Jake filled in, "Trix, half the time I didn't catch what you were saying, but it was facts. What they did was dumb."
"I'm traumatized for life," Trixie declared.
"Why are you talking about us like we're not here?" Spud said, slightly irritated.
Jake remarked, "Sorry, thought you were too caught up in each other's pants to hear what we were saying."
Trixie laughed out loud. "Good one, Jakey." They high-fived.
"Too be fair, I'm not wearing pants. I'm wearing a dress," Alicia stated.
Trixie couldn't resist saying, "You couldn't keep it on for long."
Jake and Trixie cackled amongst themselves, failing at holding in their laughs. Alicia scowled at them. She heard Spud laugh, too. Alicia elbowed him. "What?" he asked. "It was kinda funny."
"Besides making fun of us, anything you guys wanna do tonight?"
Jake's laugh escaped him. "I know what you wanna do." Trixie joined him in laughter.
"Nevermind," Alicia mumbled.
"We just playin'!" Trixie wrapped her arm around the girl. "It's just too easy to make jokes."
Jake agreed, "Yeah, it isn't that hard."
Trixie said in between laughs, "Now that was corny."
He pointed out, "You still laughed, though."
"Your Jokes suck," Alicia said.
Jake smirked. "Damn, Cia. You don't have to be a dick about it." Trixie held her stomach from laughter.
"When you and Trixie lose yours I'm coming for you. No mercy," Spud stated.
"Lucky for you, you don't gotta wait long. I see Rose tomorrow, baby!" he exclaimed.
"So, are we hanging out or not?" Alicia asked, attempting to change the subject.
"I don't see why not," Trixie shrugged. Spud agreed.
Jake denied, "No can do."
"Why?" Alicia asked.
"I have to get my beauty sleep tonight."
"Since when do go to bed early?" Trixie snickered.
"Since today. I have to pick up Rose from the airport tomorrow. Gotta make sure I wake up on time."
"Gotcha," Spud waved, "have fun."
"Wait, you can't leave me with these horny teenagers," Trixie whined.
"Trix, you called a boy a chocolate sundae the other day. You'll be fine," Jake assured.
"We should all just go home," Alicia suggested. "It's been a long week."
"I could take a nap right now." Trixie began to walk in her direction home. "We can make plans tomorrow or something." Spud and Alicia waved goodbye.
"Guess I'll head home," Spud said. He awkwardly smiled and waved.
"Wait," Alicia grabbed his wrist, "Trixie was right. What we did today was stupid. We could've gotten caught and in serious trouble."
"But it was fun, wasn't it?"
She grew flustered. "Y-Yeah, but we shouldn't do it again."
He nodded. "I get that."
"Also, I've been thinking . . ." Alicia began, "we shouldn't do it again at all."
"What do you mean?"
"I mean we should stop for now. Get to know each other more and see what happens. I barely know you and you barely know me."
Spud smiled seductively. "You know a lot about what I look like."
Alicia couldn't help but smile while she looked away. "Stop!" she said playfully.
"Why you acting shy now? Like you said, the last time was your fault," he teased
"What I'm saying is, we could be potential good friends and never know because we rushed into things. . . . Or something else, too."
"You saying I have a chance?"
"I'm saying we should be friends for a bit longer and learn more about each other."
"That's fine," Spud chirped.
"And I mean normal friends. Not with benefits."
He deflated like a balloon. "Oh, that's what you meant."
On his way home, Jake's phone went off. It was his grandfather. He stepped away and took the call. "Hello?"
"Jake, get over here quick! Something's wrong with Haley!" Lao Shi ordered.
Though they had their bad moments, Jake loved his little sister. His eyebrows furrowed. "I'm on my way."
Done! This chapter got long so I decided to make this a part 1. I made the character Alicia to bring out more of Jake, Spud, and Trixie's personalities. They have such fun personalities, I love it. I'm considering making a second fanfic, which will be like a spinoff of this one but it's Jake x Trixie. I don't want to put the ship in here because I don't want to limit my audience, y'know? There's not enough Jake x Trixie stuff out there so let me know your thoughts. Hope you like the consistency.
