THE WISE WOLF CHAPTER 6:

The Clearwater House Third Person POV:

"Good morning kids." Sue said, "Breakfast is on the table."

"Thanks Mom!" Seth said.

"Yeah, thanks whatever." Leah grumbled.

The kids begun eating there food. They both ate a lot.

"Hey, Lee! Your mom and I want to talk to you." Harry told his eldest.

"What" Leah snapped back.

"Honey I know you wont like this, but we figured it would be better you heard from us than someone else in town. Sam and Emily got engaged a few weeks ago." Harry told his daughter softly.

"THEY WHAT! OF COURSE THEY DID!" Leah yelled. "THAT STUPID BITCH JUST HAD TO STEAL EVERTHING FROM ME! SHE COULD NOT BE HAPPY FOR ME. THE JEALOUS WHORE JUST HAD TO STEAL MY BOYFRIEND!" Leah continued to yell.

She was shaking, and before she knew it she exploded. Seth heard the yelling and came downstairs to see a wolf in the living room. He freaked out and exploded into a sandy brown wolf next to his sister.

Harry watched Leah exploded. He was surprised. She was not supposed to phase. It shocked him. He felt his chest hurt, and before he knew it he had collapsed, his heart giving out.

Leah and Seth looked at there father.

'Daddy, get up.' she thought

'No! No! No!' She kept repeating in her head.

Third Person POV:

Adira awoke to a howl the next morning. She managed to sleep through the night. It was plagued by nightmares, but she managed to fall back asleep each time.

"Hey, Emily what happened?" She asked.

"Paul was on patrol. He must have caught a scent." Emily said.

'Ring! Ring! Ring!' The phone in the kitchen rung.

Emily answered it, "Hello...Sue Hi...No...Is he going to be ok..." Emily broke down crying.

Adi grabbed the phone. "Hi Mrs. Clearwater, this is Adi. What happened?"

"Leah and Seth phased. Harry had a Heart attack. He-He's de-dead." She sobbed out.

"I'll meet you at the hospital." Adi said and hung up the phone.

Adi helped Emily out to the car. Adi drove to the Hospital. She did not have her license, but had driven before and figured it would be better for Emily not to drive at the moment.

They walked into the hospital and saw Sue in the waiting room. Adi walked over to her and hugged her. "It'll be ok. It'll be ok" she whispered to Sue.

"What about Leah and Seth?" She asked, still crying.

"The guys will take good care of them. I promise. It will be good for them. The pack will help them through this." Adi whispered.

They stayed with Sue at the hospital. Eventually they went back into Harry's room. He was dead. Adi called the house to see if the guys were back yet, but there was no answer. Instead she called Billy's.

"Hello, Billy speaking." He answered.

"Hello, this is Adira. The boys are not back yet, so I figured I would let you know. This morning Leah and Seth phased. Harry had a heart attack and did not make it. I am at the hospital in Forks with Emily and Sue right now. If you would like to come I can pick you up, if not please make sure to let the boys know where we are as I assume they already know about the kids."

"Thank you for telling me Adi. I will have Jake drive me over when he gets back. Just stay with Sue and Emily. Please." Adi could tell he was crying.

"Ok. If you need anything just call me."

"Thank you Adira." Billy said, and hung up.

Third Person POV:

(A/N This is back in the morning when Paul howled.)

'Paul's Howl'

'What' Sam asked. He was the first to phase in.

'Leech! Its the redhead again!' Paul told the pack. Everyone had phased in at this point.

'Embry go after it with Paul! Jared and Jacob head towards the Beach! I'll try to cut it off half way!' Sam ordered.

'She's headed for the ocean!' Embry told them.

'Jake, Jared, try to cut it off!' Sam told them.

"AHHHHHHHHH!"

'The hell was that!' Paul shouted.

'Uggghhhhh' Jake mentally groaned. 'Bella just jumped off the frickin cliff. Ima go try to save her. Sure Charlie doesn't want his daughter dead.'

Jake phased out and ran to the water.

'Daddy, get up!' a voice said in their heads.

'No! No! No!' it kept repeating

'Sam the redhead just jumped off the cliff!' Jared told him.

'Damn it' Sam cursed.

'AHHHHH! Leah! Not Leah! Wolf! Dad on the floor!' a different voice was screaming.

'Who phased' Sam asked.

'What! No! Nightmare! Sounds like Sam's voice! GET OUT Of MY HEAD! Stupid, cheating, no good, can't even break up with me first! Now engaged to the stupid bitch! Whore fucked my boyfriend!'

'Is that Leah?' Jared asked.

'AHHH! I've got paws! Leah's in my head! Voices in my head! Wait I've got a tail too!' Another voice tried to make sense of what just happened.

'Seth! Leah! Calm down!' Sam ordered.

'What happened? Why can I hear you?' Seth asked.

'You guys phased' Sam responded.

'English Asshole!' Leah told him.

'Jared and Paul will explain to you. I am going to go check on Jacob.'

Sam phased out.

'Ok explain.' Leah told them.

'The Quileute Legends are real.' Jared thought to them. 'Select individuals shift into wolves to protect the tribe from cold ones or vampires.'

'Your the first girl Leah. Ever.' Paul commented.

'Great I'm a freak' Leah said.

'We all are. Its pretty cool after a while.' Jared told her.

'It sounds cool. We can run fast and get to fight vampires. I'm so in!' Seth thought excitedly.

'Not that you had a choice but good.' Paul said to Seth.

'Ok we can try to get you guys to phase back. When you shift back you will be naked, so Paul is grabbing clothes.'

They all felt a shimmer.

'What was that?' Seth asked.

'That's how you know when someone phased in or out. You can feel it.' Jared told them.

'Where are we up to Jared?' Sam asked him.

'I briefly explained it to them. We are going to try to get Seth to phase back since I can tell Leah is too mad to right now. Is Bella ok?' Jared told Sam.

'Ok good. Bella is alive. An idiot, but alive. Jacob is taking her back to her house. He was un willing, but I reminded him that Bella should be there to help Charlie since his friend just died.' Sam told Jared.

'Wait Dad's dead?' Seth asked.

'No, No, No, all my stupid fault. Just had to be a freak.' Leah's thoughts spiraled.

'Great Sam, now neither will be able to phase back.' Jared said.

'Brought you guys clothes out. Shorts for you Seth, and an oversized shirt for you Leah. They are in the woods outside your house.' Paul told them.

'Ok when you guys are ready to try to phase back, think calming happy thoughts. I'm going to go head over to the hospital. Jared will stay with you guys.' Sam told them.

Sam ran over tot he hospital and comforted Emily. Charlie and Old Quil had arrived before Sam since Billy told them what happened. When Billy arrived, Jacob arrived with them and Adi could tell he was mad.

"Sam, I'm going to step outside with Jacob for a moment. I need a little air. Ok?" Adi asked her brother.

"Sure. Don't be too long and stay with Jacob."

Adi grabbed Jake's arm and pulled him outside.

"What happened? I know some of it, but I figure you would know more." Adi asked him.

"Yeah, Sam filled me in." Jacob responded. "Leah got mad and shifted. Harry was shocked to see her phase. He knew about the wolves. She is just the first girl to phase ever. It shocked him into a heart attack which he did not survive." Jacob paused for a moment grabbing Adi's hand and taking a deep breath. "This morning before they phased we were chasing the redhead. We chased her out and she was by the cliffs when they phased. She got away into the water. Bella decided it would be a great idea to jump off these cliffs, so I jumped in, pulled her out, and gave her CPR. I brought her home where one of the Cullens who sees the future or something as waiting for her. Edward found out about her jump and thought she was dead, so he was going to the Volturi to get himself killed." Jacob paused again. "The Cullen who was there told Bella about it and they ran off to Italy to save him. I tried to stop her. Reminded her that Charlie needed her. She did not care. She's a selfish brat and annoys me so much."

Adi gave Jacob a hug. "Its ok. It will all be ok." Adi whispered to him. "Thank you for telling me. I'm here for you. Let's go back in. You should comfort your dad, and I will introduce myself to Chief Swan and see if he needs anything."

"Thanks. Why do you always seem to have the perfect plan."

"Just my specialty I guess." Adi responded. In all truth it was her specialty as a Child of Athena.

Adi's POV:

Jacob walked over to his dad. I walked over to wear Charlie was sitting with Sue.

"Hello Chief Swan, I'm Adira. I've met your daughter a few times. I know its hard having a close friend of yours die. Is there anything I can help you with?"

"Not at the moment, but thank you." Chief Swan replied.

"Ok if you do end up needing anything just let me know. I'll stop by with some food tomorrow for you."

"Thank you Adira. I appreciate it." He responded.

I walked over to where my brother and Emily were.

"Are you ok Sam? I know how important Harry was to you." I asked my brother who had tears in his eyes. I could tell he was trying to be strong for Emily who just lost her uncle.

"I don't know Adi." He told me. He would be strong in front of everyone else, but he knew he did not have to pretend to me which is good as I know him well enough to see through it anyways.

I gave him a hug. "I know everything's a mess Sammy, but it will get better. I promise. The first days will be the hardest as you realize he's not here anymore. Eventually you will be able to think of him and honor all the good memories he had." I told Sam.

"Thank you Adi." He told me.

"I'm going to go back to the house Sam and start cooking. Stay here with Emily. The guys will need food, especially if Seth or Leah phase back."

"Thank you Adi." Sam told me. "I don't know how I managed without you the last eight years."

I smiled at him and headed out to the car. I drove it back to the house. When I got there I went to my room and shadow traveled to the underworld entrance.

"Hey Charon." I waved to him.

"What brings you to the entrance Mrs. Adira?" Charon asked me.

"Finding a friend. Taking him down." I told him.

"Whose the friend." He asked.

"Harry Clearwater." I told him. He pointed off towards the West wall.

I walked over there. "Harry."

"Adi, you should not be down here." He told me looking worried.

"Don't worry about me. I'm special I guess you could say." I told him. "I'm going to take you to peace come on."

He followed me up to Charon. I handed Charon to drachmas. We traveled down into the Underworld.

"Normally you have to wait in one if those lines to be judged if you want to go anywhere but the fields of Asphodel, but I have special privileges and already know where you belong." I told him. He gave me a weird look.

"The world is complicated Mr. Clearwater. More than just shape shifters and cold ones exist." I told him.

"So what are you then." He asked. I figured why not tell him.

"A demigod, half god, half mortal. Like the Greek storied. Athena is my mother." I could tell he still had more questions, but he left it there.

"Here we are." I told him. "This Elysium. Its for good souls. Its where you belong. Thank you for all the work you did for our tribe."

"Thank you Adira. Please watch over Seth and Leah for me. I know Leah's going to have a hard time with this especially since no one knows why she phased." He told me.

"Will do Harry." I gave him a hug and let go of him, leaving him to see the Underworld as he would like.

I found a shadow and traveled back to my bedroom. I was really tired after traveling, but told Sam I would cook, so I headed to the kitchen anyways. I started cooking food, a lot of food. Then I moved on to baking cookies. I wanted to give some to Charlie, Billy, and Quil tomorrow. I made normal ones for Quil and Charlie, and a batch of ones with reduced sugar for Billy. While I was working on the cookies Paul came in with Seth.

"Hey, you guys hungry?" I asked them and both there stomachs growled. "I'll take that as a yes."

I placed a pizza in front of each of them. I can cook other stuff, but pizza was the quickest and the easiest, and I was really tired nd had a headache, so I figured it was best. I found out Jared was still out with Leah. Apparently Jared decided leaving Paul and Leah alone would be asking for them to kill each other, so he sent Paul with Seth instead. Definitely a smart decision.

As it got later, Sam and Emily came back. Jake was dropping his dad at Quil's for the night before he came over. After Sam ate he cut Seth's hair. Seth was super excited which was a nice thing to see. Nobody mentioned Harry in front of Seth.

Embry walked in and Sam looked to him: "You are staying at the Clearwater's tonight to make sure Seth and Sue are ok."

"Great, I just got ungrounded." He grumbled.

"I've got a solution to that at last for tonight." I told Embry.

I had Embry dial his mom's number on the phone. I knew using a phone as much as I had today was risky, but I was hoping since it was not wireless it would be ok.

"Hello, this is Tiffany Call." Embry's mom answered.

"Hello Mrs. Call. I'm Adira Uley. I help the council with various tribal stuff. I just wanted to let you know that Embry is staying at the Clearwater's tonight to help them after the events of today."

"Oh yes dear, I heard what happened. Thank you for letting me know. I'm glad Embry is helping others and I know where he is." She responded.

"Thank you for being so understanding Mrs. Call."

"Of course. Thank you for letting me know. Goodbye." She told me and hung up.

I turned towards Embry. "See problem fixed."

"How-How did you do that? I'm not being grounded and she doesn't know the secret still." He said. The others in the room were looking at me surprised too since everyone knows Embry is always grounded since he can't tell his mom where he is.

"By telling her nothing she thinks you are doing drugs or something. Just tell her you are apart of a group that helps the council with various activities. Just make sure to fill Billy in on your half truth just in case she calls him. It won't always save you at night, but she will be more understanding when you are late and feel better knowing you are not doing drugs." I told him.

"Genius, why did I not think of that." He said, and I just shrugged.

I walked over to where the table was. I was so out of it after my long day and shadow traveling that I stumbled as I was walking over. I caught myself on the counter luckily.

"You ok Adi?" Sam asked me, worriedly.

"Don't worry Sammy I'm fine. Just stumbled. No big deal." Truthfully I was not fine, but I needed to be strong today.

"Ok fine, but come on. Sit down and eat something." He told me. I sat down and ate half a slice of pizza.

Jacob came in and sat next to me while he ate. We just sat there together, the whole pack. We talked little, but just were there together. I think everyone was thinking there own thing.

I was feeling a little light headed, but I got up to go clean my dish and the others in the sink. I stood up and took a few steps before I slipped into blackness.
