"Did you get those from the other day?" JJ asked. They were both at Emily's apartment. Emily had just got changed into some pyjamas, and JJ noticed the bruises down her arms.
"Yeah," Emily replied, getting into bed beside JJ. "I'm okay, though. Just some bruises."
"I know you are," JJ responded, entwining her body with her girlfriends, cuddling Emily until the brunette fell asleep. She smiled, glad Emily was getting some rest. The paperwork and time spent going through resumes had taken up a lot of her time lately, and she was more sleep-deprived than the job usually made them.
JJ wanted more than cuddles and kisses with Emily; however, they both agreed it was best not to rush things. JJ fell asleep soon after and decided she'd make breakfast in the morning. She knew where everything was in Emily's apartment anyway, and she was the morning person. She needed something to occupy her until Emily eventually woke from her slumber.
"Oh my God, I love you!" Emily exclaimed, seeing JJ make French toast in Emilys Kitchen and hugging her from behind.
"I know you do. I love you too." JJ replied, smiling. Emily had been asleep for 10 hours. "How are you?"
"Better now I've had some sleep," Emily replied, not that it stopped her from pouring the coffee JJ had put on. It was a force of habit. "You good?"
"Yeah, I'm good," JJ replied, smiling. "Eat up." She replied, serving up the food.
"This is amazing," Emily replied, biting into the French toast after drizzling maple syrup over it.
"Yeah?" JJ asked.
"Seriously amazing," Emily replied, smiling. "What's your recipe."
"Well, that's a family secret, Emily. It's my grandmother's recipe."
"Well, I'm family, tell me."
"I will one day, but not today. My lips are sealed."
"One day, huh?" Emily replied, sensing JJ was thinking about their future as a couple and hopefully a real family.
"Yeah, one day, " JJ responded, smiling. She knew she'd let the brunette in on the secret recipe if all went well with their relationship. "Do you fancy going for a hike today?"
"Yeah, sure, Jayje." Emily agreed. She hated the thought of potentially having to pee outside, but a hike with JJ would be nice, especially if it ended with cuddles and hot cocoa to warm them up after.
They enjoyed their hike together, although Emily enjoyed being with JJ more than the actual hiking part. When they got home, they cuddled up together on the sofa. "Are you ready for sex?" JJ asked.
"If you are," Emily replied, smiling. She was definitely ready for sex with JJ.
"Mmhmm, I'm more than ready," JJ replied, taking Emily's clothes off of her so they could have sex, trying to ignore the bruises on her from the previous case whilst making sure she was gentle over the bruised areas of her body.
"That was amazing, Jayje," Emily said once they'd finished. Their bodies were still entwined.
"It was." JJ agreed.
