Chapter six:

Misa is sitting at a café, one that she had chosen for its view of the area to giver her better access to see people, with a cup of coffee and a slice of cake in front of her. Her brown wig does a wonderful job of concealing her blonde hair. She is wearing a black pull over hoodie, a pair of tightfitting black jeans, and black runners. She also added glasses with fake lenses in them to help hide her face from being recognized. She is glad that she got a patio seat as she can look around herself as she made sure she sat on the side of the table facing the street and sidewalk. She is taking her time with her order as she keeps an eye out for someone without a lifespan visible. She knows that Rem is just standing behind her silent as she lets Misa concentrate on what it is that she is doing. She scans around ignoring anyone that has two things floating above their head as to do a quick scan. Then she has her caught by something.

A group of what looks like friends are walking all together. But one of them stands out to Misa.

Misa adjusts her fake glasses. "Got you." She whispers to herself then looks to the name floating above his head. "Moon Yagami? No Light Yagami." She corrects herself after reading the name quietly to herself. "Well Light. I'll be seeing you later for sure." She looks away and focuses on her stuff that she has from the café. She knows what her next steps will be. She'll have to call in a favour in order to get Light's address then she'll be able to approach him. Plus if she explains she used a favour she might seem more useful to him that she is resourceful.

The next night…

Light makes it home and heads on upstairs as he had chosen to go home today instead of stay at L's headquarters. He doesn't hear his mom or sister so he guesses that they both must have gone out. He wouldn't be surprised if they had gone out on a mother daughter outing.

They have done it before.

Just as Light gets to the top of the stairs he stops as a knock comes to the front door. He turns around to look to the door as silence goes through the house after the knocks. "Who could that be at this hour?" He questions then he heads back down the stairs. He peers through the peep hole and sees someone his sister had told him about before. "Misa?" He wonders what a famous model is doing at his place. He opens the door and lets their eyes meet with another.

Misa is standing there with one of her signature black dresses, black tights, and black booths. She is holding a black bag in front of herself against her chest. "Hello Light Yagami." She greets him surprising him.

"How do you know who I am?" Light questions her staring at her with a very serious expression on his face.

Misa glances around then behind Light to ensure that no one is listening in before she meets his eyes. "I know you have a Death note." She mentions causing Light to pause in surprise.

"Come in." Light lets her inside which she takes the invitation. He closes the door behind her and she politely takes off her shoes. "Lets go to my room. I don't know when my sister and mother are going to be coming back." He informs her in which she nods in agreement. He leads her upstairs to his bedroom in which she sits on his bed as he closes the door. He turns to her and goes to his desk chair where he sits down facing her. "Okay. So how did you figure out that I have a Death note?" He demands as Misa places her bag at her feet. He finds that she doesn't respond with words at first though he waits as she opens her bag. He barely keeps his eyes from widening when she pulls out a black notebook. He stares at the familiar silver writing as she shows it to him.

"Because I have one too. And I made the deal for the Shinigami eyes. I saw you at the meet up spot. But I knew better than to approach you there. In such a crowded area. So I called in a favour in order to find out where you lived. And here we are." Misa explains to Light who then reaches out touching her notebook.

Light glances around before his eyes land upon Rem who is staring at him. He realizes that this is the real deal indeed. He turns back to Misa removing his hand from the notebook. He pulls out his own and lets her touch it in order to see Ryuk.

The two shinigami's exchange some pleasantries as Misa and Light put their notebooks down.

"Okay." Light slightly leans back in his seat though keeps his eyes on Misa. "Since we both have the notebooks we should probably work together. However I do need you to do as I say. Okay?"

"That is fine." Misa agrees to this already knowing what she is going to say. "I actually admire Kira." She lies. "He, well you, killed the man who killed my parents. And so I am willing to do whatever it is you need me to do. Just so I can help you." She swears those lies feel bitter on her tongue though she makes sure to not show it all. She also had thrown in a little truth in there. She knows that he did kill the man who killed her parents, though she doesn't tell him that she had actually moved on from that whole thing long before he was killed by this man before her.

Light nods to this glad to hear that she is on board with this. "Listen. I have a plan right now. I need you to do something very important. Do Kira's killings for a bit. I have a situation I am in where I need to try to seem innocent. So I'll need you to kill during the day. While I'll be away from my Death note."

"I can do that." Misa agrees giving Light a nod of her head to this. "Don't you worry. I won't disappoint you."

Light only nods to this.

With cell numbers exchanged Misa heads off to be gone before Light's family gets back home.

As Msia walks along she reminds herself that though she will be killing people she has it as a nessicary step in order to help bring Kira down.

The next day…

Light is sitting next to L as the other goes through some files that Watari had brought him. He scrolls through some information on the Kira case that the raven haired man had asked him to look over to see what he thinks.

Matsuda suddenly rushes into the room from the entrance as he had gone to go to the bathroom in the building. "Guys!" His frantic voice grabs the attention of everyone in the room who looks to him. "Kira killed again!"

L turns and types something into his computer then on the monitors above them show the news that reports on deaths clearly caused by Kira.

Light's eyes drift to look to L watching for his reaction. He feels some disappointment when the raven haired male looks calm as if not bothered by it.

L has his right thumb resting against his bottom lip as he watches the monitors.

Light slightly wonders if L is even paying attention to what is being said anymore or if he is lost in thought about whatever is crossing his mind.

"Do you think that it was the main Kira or that it was this the second Kira?" Light hears his father speak and notices from the corner of his eye the other glance around to everyone there.

L looks away from the monitors to glance to one of the files that he had been going through. "We will continue to hunt Kira and the second Kira that popped up." He types to turn off the news from the monitors for now. "This will keep happening until they are caught and stopped for good." His words cause everyone, even Light, to turn away to go back to work knowing that he is right about this.

Light keeps his face calm as he wants to smirk that surely L should realize now that he clearly doesn't have anything to do with this. He wants the other to believe this. He knows that L could secretly be blaming it on the second Kira, which he wouldn't be wrong about that, though he wants to try to make him believe that he isn't Kira at all. He hopes that by seeing him here and not anywhere to make these deaths happen, or to be able to work with the second Kira, that he won't be any type of suspect to the raven haired detective. He will keep things up like this to make sure that the other knows for sure.

It has gotten pretty late and sine everyone else has either gone to bed or gone home for the night.

L has decided to head out and stop at a sweet shop after he had gone to a location pretending to be sent by L to check out a crime scene.

The crime scene was that of one of those killed by Kira that was found outside of the prison environment. A man who had gotten away with his crimes had been killed by Kira's signature heat attacks.

L turns hearing the clicking of heels as someone approaches him outside of the sweet shop that will be closing very soon. He finds himself looking at Misa as their eyes end up meeting with one another. He is very curious as to why she had just suddenly approached him out of nowhere at this hour. He isn't even sure what she is doing out so late though then guesses that she must have a night photoshoot. He keeps his eyes locked with her own.

Misa had seen the raven and curious she had read the name floating above his head. She froze as soon as she read it then approached him after making sure no one else would see. She couldn't believe what she had read and hopes that this isn't some coincidence. Her heart is pounding in her chest she almost feels that it could break her ribs. She tries to remain seemingly calm and reminds herself that if this ends up being a mistake she can back out. She just has to know for sure. She has to know that she is right in the assumption that she has made going by the name that had been floating above the mans head. She doesn't blame herself for not realizing it when she had seen this man before she had gotten her Shinigami eyes from Rem. She is just glad that she had been in the right place at the right time to see this, especially if her assumption happens to be correct. "You must be L."
