*Hey guys thank you for all of your kind words and support throughout this story. I can't tell you how happy it makes me knowing you like my idea for this story and are getting into it. I'll try my best to live up to the hype I'm creating. I tried to tell the story through Hiccup's point of view but it bounces back and forth between him and his kidnappers.

So just a warning for this chapter and the next, it's going to get a little intense and violent. I hope you enjoy it!

Project Nano - Chapter 6

Hiccup slowly started to come to as the fog cleared from his mind, squinting his eyes closed he searched out with his other senses as the dizzyness he felt prevented him from opening his eyes. His ears felt like there were cotton balls stuffed in them making the sounds around him distorted. Groaning as another stab of pain hit him but the motion made his mouth feel dry and gross underneath the cloth someone had tied around his head effectively gagging him 'ugh, what did they give me? he thought as bit by bit he was able to pick out pieces of the conversation around him.

"Hayden… Answering me?!"

Hiccup groaned again as his head throbbed painful. 'Was that his dad's voice?', he thought as he went to bring his hand up to his head only to releasing he couldn't. His eyes snapped open to see that he was laying on the floor staring at a dark metal wall in front of him 'well that can't be good' he grounded out. Not exactly the best way to wake up when you find yourself tied up in an unknown location after being kidnapped and drugged.

Looking over his shoulder he could see that his hands were tied behind his back, and gave them a couple of good tugs to test their strength but hissed in pain as the rope pulled on the already sensitive skin beneath them, it was no use they were to tight.

Turning his body more he could see that he was laying on his side in a van with the doors left open and a large man had his back turned to him leaning up against the side of the van talking on the phone.

"Hello Stoic… It seems I have something that belongs to you."

'Stoic?! He was talking to his dad!?' Hiccup's thoughts were screaming in his pounding head. He went to move his legs to help pull himself up but found that they were tied as well 'oh come on really? Who ties up an amputees legs? That's just wrong!'

"Who is this!?... Where is he!?" His father yelled in the background but the words were faint.

Hiccup found that he could barely hear his dad only picking out the words he must have been shouting over the line.

"All in good time. But first, we have some business to discuss…" The man carried on like this was an everyday conversation, Hiccup recognized the voice as the man that first grabbed him the Leader the same man who also shot Seven. 'oh Gods Seven, was he dead?' he mind was panicking as he toned out of the conversation 'please, oh please let him be alive' Hiccup pleaded in his head he wouldn't be able to forgive himself if Seven had died trying to save him.

Hiccup was knocked out of his inner battle as he felt a rough hand grab his arm and pulling him back towards the opening of the door. The movement startling him so much that he kicked out trying to get the man off of him but the man's hold on him was too strong as he moved his body into a sitting position with his feet set on the ground and had him sitting on the edge of the vans step before releasing him.

Confused Hiccup looked up at the two men in front of him the second had backed off while the leader knelt down to look him in the eye and held up a phone, his phone he noticed with an ongoing call on-screen with his father's contact ID.

Hiccup look back at the man and almost flinched as his left hand came up to his face pulling down the gag while his right thrusted the phone to his ear. Hesitating for only a second before he spoke "… Dad?" his voice came out rough and scratchy and a lot weaker sounding than he would have liked, he cleared his throat as his father's loud booming voice shouted over the other end of the line.

"SON! Thank Thor! Are you hurt? is Seven with you?!"

"I'm...I'm okay dad, b-but Seven…" Hiccup paused as he struggled to get control of his breathing images of Seven being shot flashed through in his head 'no!' he shouted into his head trying and failing to calm himself down "t-they shot… I – I don't kn…" Hiccup's mind was racing and it became harder for him to breathe as he was starting to hyperventilate.

"Shh… it's okay son, breathe" the soothing sounds of his father's voice reached him as he slowed his breathing down, it worked. "Hayden everything is going to be all right okay? I'll get you out…" taking a shaky breath he nodded eyes closed to get a grip of himself, his dad's right...'Hiccup froze as the man in front of him laughed just now remembering how close the man was to him and lead back as far as he could and sadly away from the phone and his father's voice.

"Awe isn't that sweet, daddy is coming to rescue you." The man's mocking tone was cruel as he stood up and leaned over the doorway of the van with one arm resting on the frame of the roof and the other holding the phone back up to his ear staring down at Hiccup making him very uncomfortable as he looked up into those cold dark eyes.

"BASTARD!" Hiccup didn't think he's ever heard his father sound so angry before.

"Language Stoic, you wouldn't want that temper of yours to get your son hurt would you," the man's hand shot out and grabbed a fistful of Hiccup's hair. causing him to cry out in surprise at the pain, but it was gone a second later as the man let him go as the action served its purpose.

"Stop! Don't you touch him! What do you want?!"

Hiccup looked up at the man through pain-filled eyes he refused to show tears but the look on the man's face was almost predator-like as the smile that spread across it was unnatural making him shrink back in his seat.

"What we want Stoic… Are the nanobots." Hiccup couldn't believe what he was hearing, 'how did they find out about the Nanobots?'

"That doesn't matter." the man continued "What does matter is that you're going to hand over those nanobots and all the material that goes with them. And don't even think about encrypting those files, I want you to bring the head technician with you to the drop."

'But that's me?' Hiccup thought as he heard the shout of panic from his father as he came to the same conclusion as he did. 'How do you bring the head technician to a drop when he was already being held, hostage by the very Kidnappers that had him?'

"You heard me, I'll give you 8 hours to get what I want, Stoic. Oh and don't think about involving the police or your son's dead" and with that, he hung up the phone.

Hiccup now glared up at the man above him all fear and shock were gone. The leader hung up on his father "There that should make the great Stoic the vast sweat" he said and laughed as his men joined in with him.

"Why are you doing this?!" Hiccup shouted he was fed up with this situation, he didn't know how these men knew about the prototype and he didn't want to think about what his father was going to do to get him out of this. There was no way his father would give these men the nanobots just to save him and he couldn't decrypt the files without him and the decryption key that hung around his neck disguises in a dragon pendant his mother had made for him before she died.

The leader looked down at him a smile growing on his face "because that's what I was paid to do boy. You are going to be a good little hostage and behave yourself or things are going to get ugly."

"Paid?! Who paid you?" Hiccup's head was reeling these men were mercenaries. Men for higher who did unspeakable things and someone from his father's company had paid them to take him in order to get it.

"That's none of your business." he shot back before turning to look over his shoulder "Salvage take the runt to the back office and keep him there we don't want our little guest of honor to get away before the deal is done now do we?" he smiled at the second man who grabbed him now known as Savage.

The leader stepped away from the doorway of the van giving Savage access and the man knelt in front of him pulling out a knife he had in his boot.

"No, Wait!" Hiccup flinched and closed his eyes as the knife in Savage's hands came down on him. When nothing happened he opened his eyes to see that his legs had been cut free he sighed in relief relaxing slightly. But tensed his arm was grabbed seconds later and he was yanked to his feet "let go!" Hiccup shouted pulling away from Savage.

He was easily picked up from the van by Savage's firm grip on his upper arm as said men nodded to his leader. "Yes, Alvin." before the turn to glare down at Hiccup "Come on boy" Hiccup was pushed forward through the abandoned warehouse where they were currently hiding out in and lead into a small office located at the end of a long corridor of stacked wood crates.

As they reached the office Hiccup yelped as his prosthetic leg caught on a loose floorboard losing his balance and falling forward. Unable to cushion his fall as his hands were still tied behind his back his shoulder collided hard with the floor making it flare up in pain but he forced it down, not wanting to show any more weakness to means men.

"Get up," Savage said annoyed.

Hiccup rolled over and attempted to sit up Hiccup glared at the man from his position on the floor were he noticed the leader standing in the doorway watching him over Savage shoulder arms folded across his chest. This man was the one that shot and killed Seven, Hiccup wasn't a vengeful person but for this man, he would make an exception. Glaring at the man he put as much sass into his voice as he could "little hard to do that with my hands tied behind my back don't you think?"

The man known as Savage growled at him reaching down and pulling Hiccup onto his feet by his arms causing pain to shoot up through his already bruised shoulder.

"Oww... That hurts, let go!" he cried out at the pain it caused his shoulder.

"Shut up" the man walked him to the back of the room and turned him around before pushing him down into a wooden chair. Hiccup grunted as his back hit the chair and looked up at the man above him, Savage was still so close to him a hand on his chest to keep him in place as he reached over to a table next to the chair and produced a bundle of rope.

Hiccup's eyes widened as the man moved his hand to his shoulder and walked behind him. He struggled to push himself out of the chair only to have a hand force him back down again, so he pulled on the ropes binding his wrists together hoping to at least get his hands free but they bit into his skin painfully halting his struggles.

"Please I'm already tied up you don't have to do this" he pleaded.

"I said- shut up!" Savage growled as he hit the side of Hiccup's temple, not hard enough to knock him out but hard enough to make and see stars.

Once his vision had cleared he shook his head in a last-ditch attempt to rid himself of the dizziness it brought on. He tried to move only to find that he couldn't, he looked down and saw the man had just finished tying the ropes that ran around his chest no less than five times pinning his body to the back of the chair and forcing his arms down going so far as to tie the loose end of the rope around his wrists. He tried anyway to see if there was any wiggle room to get out his ropes but they were too tight, locking him in the chair as the ropes wound both above and below the arms of the chair preventing him from sliding them over the back of the chair. 'Danmmit' he cursed these guys are pros I can't move a muscle.

Just then the leader known as Alvin walked up towards him and leaned down into his face hands resting on the armrests of the chair on either side of him. "Get comfortable kid, because you're going to be sitting here for the next couple of hours" he laughed as he stood back up and went to turn around.

Hiccup didn't know what came over him as anger flashed through his mind, and did the only thing that he could think of to get back at this man. This man who had kidnapped him shot and possibly killed Seven. He hated him so much right now that the consequences of what he was about to do didn't matter to him. So he stuck his good leg out as the man passed him causing him to stumble then he lifted his prosthetic leg and kicked him square in the kneecap with everything he had, and watching with satisfaction as the man dropped to the ground with a pained yell grabbing his knee.

"Serves you right!" Hiccup yelled, "that was for Seven" continuing to glare down at the man.

"WHY YOU LITTLE SHIT!" The man screamed in absolute rage as he spun around and slammed his fist directly into Hiccup's left knee.

Throwing his head back Hiccup screamed as white-hot pain exploded through his body and a sickening cracking pop sounded out through the small room. Sheer agony, flooded through his veins tears burned in his eyes as he clenched them shut and dropping his head to his chest in an attempt to control the pain.

After a while of struggling he could hear shouting around him, he couldn't get his eyes to open so decided to listen instead. He wanted to know what the fight was about? Was someone here or were they were going to hurt him again?

"What the hell were you thinking?!"

"The kid asked for it"

"We need the kid in one piece for the trade, we can do that if you nearly kill him."

"Whatever he'll survive, besides he needs to learn a lesson on not fighting back. Do what you want with him I'm out" and with that Hiccup could hear two sets of footsteps leave the room. He took small comfort in hearing one of those footsteps leaving with a slight limp as Alvin walked out the door. 'Good', he thought before hissing out in pain.

He realized too late that he had shifted in his seat hitting his left knee against the arm of the chair. Biting his lip to hold in the scream that bubbled up to the surface, he took in harsh aching breaths and breathed through the pain. He pried one eye open and look at his leg, you couldn't see clearly through the thick jean material but with just one look at his knee, he could tell that it wasn't in the right spot. The knee was dislocated and was already starting to swell as the material around it felt too tight.

"Shit, Oh Thor!" he cursed muffled with his teeth clenched "damn it hurts...why did it have to be my left leg." his stump was always sensitive, even a year later after the incident but this was too much.

"You okay kid?"

Hiccup's head shot up not realizing that someone was still with him, he could have sore he heard Alvin and Savage leave. He opened his eyes the see another man looking at him he was a hefty man with jet black hair and a long beard. He was closer to him than he liked and pushed back on instinct to get away from the man only to cry out again as he moved his leg, knee screaming in protest to the movement.

"Aahhh!" Hiccup felt the tears in his eyes unwilling to fall "shit" but he didn't care at this point hurt too much.

"Where does it hurt kid?" The man asked again. Hiccup could have sworn he heard the concern in his voice? No, he must be hearing things. He didn't know this man but he didn't care his knee was dislocated hopefully not broken and he needed help putting it back into place or the pain was only going to get worse.

So teeth clenched he grounded out"L-left… Left me, I-I think it's... Dislocated?" She didn't look at the man kept his eyes shut and head down. He couldn't fight anymore couldn't take any more pain. He froze as he felt the man tugging on his leg and automatically flinch away"Aahh!" He let out another cry not wanting this man to be near his leg,

"Relax!" The man said, "I'm just going to pop it back into place, don't worry if done this before."

Hiccup paused at that but nodded, it couldn't hurt any worse than it already did right now right?

"O-okay" the man began lifting his pant leg again, Hiccup shivered as his prostatic came into view than his stump, and then pain as the pant leg brushed against his damaged knee. He could feel more tears slip from his eyes as the pain surfaced as he tried to still himself to not filched knowing that more pain would come if he did. He hated this, he didn't want this man touching him or seeing his stump. He didn't like to look at it himself. He let out a whimper as the man's hands touched his knee.

"On the count of three, ready?"

Hiccup took a few deep breaths then nodded. He felt the hand add a little more pressure and closed his eyes tighter, not wanted to see this.

"Alright, 1..2...POP! crack!"

"Aaaahhh!" Hiccup screamed loader then he even knew he could, the pain was so intense (he swore for a second that he felt the toes on his missing leg curl) making his head ache. Then sweet nothingness as his body sagged forward in the chair only the ropes tying him the only thing keeping his unconscious body up.

…TIME LAPS...

10mins before the 8rhs deadline the Kidnappers gather around in the small office where Hiccup sat still unconscious in his binds. Alvin reached over grabbing a fisting Hiccup's hair and pulled his head up trying to see he was awake. The action earned him a small groan from the boy, probably from the pain of having his hair pulled, but other than that Hiccup didn't wake.

Alvin dropped his hand letting Hiccup's head fall back to his chest and reached into his pocket to pull out the kid's phone and turned it on. Satisfied with the semi conciseness of the boy he pulled up Stoic's number and made the call.

*ring…ring*

"HAYDEN!" the sound of the panicked father rang out in the small office as Alvin turned it on speaker.

"Why hello Stoic. Do you have what I want?"

"Let me speak to my son!"

"Patience Stoic all in good time, besides..." he looks down at Hiccup as he saw he was finally coming to "the kids taking a little nap at the moment." He chuckled to himself as the others in the room joined in on the joke. The smugness in his voice was thick with amusement as he could almost picture the rage on the father's face as he screamed out over the line.

"YOU'RE A COWARD FOR TAKING MY SON! You better not have hurt him OR I swear…"

"Easy now Stoic, I'd be careful if I were you" he warned "remember who you are talking to here. We hold all the cards here if you can't behave I may have to take it out on your son" Alvin reached over again and flicked the boy's knee causing Hiccup to groan in pain slowly starting to wake up. Alvin waited as he heard silence on the other end, seeing that his point was made he continued. "I'll ask again do you have what I want?"

"…yes"

"Excellent. Then bring it down to the north end pier by warehouse 36, you have 1 hour to get there."

"WHAT! But that's on the far side of the island! I'll never make it there in an hour. You have to give me more time?!" Stoic's voice was strand, Alvin knew full well how long it took to get there, and that was all a part of his plan. Stoic would have to leave the second he got off the phone and drive non-stop to make it there in time not giving him the chance to call the police and have them coordinate a plan of their own. That is if they weren't there already listening in on the conversation.

"I don't have to give you anything Stoic. I know you can make it, and just to give you a little encouragement …" he trailed off as he stood up from the desk he was sitting on and walked over to now raising boy.

"NO PLEASE! DON'T DO THIS!"

"But Stoic you deserve a reward for getting everything I asked for so quietly. You said you wanted to talk to him, didn't you? Let's wake him up so he can say hello" Alvin stopped once he reached Hiccup resting his hand on the boys' injured knee.

...

Hiccup wasn't sure what was going on at first all he knew as he came to his senses was that his knee was killing him and his head felt fuzzy, but he could hear voices. One was calm and sent chills down his spine while the other was formulae and sounded angry or was that fear? Then his hearing kicked in full force as he felt pressure on his left knee light at first.

"...Let's wake him up so he can say hello" was the only warning Hiccup got before his knee was squeezed nails digging into the damaged tissue surrounding his whole knee cap. He ripped his head back and screamed eyes almost rolling into the back of his head. He thrashed in his binds trying to pull away but the hand followed and the pain continued.

"Aah! STOP IT!...PLEASE!" then the hand was gone and Hiccup collapsed into his binds letting out choked breaths as he curled in on himself as best he could with the ropes still around his chest and wrists.

...

Stoic was still yelling profanities over the other end of the line cursing them to Heihiem and back if they touched his son again.

Alvin chuckled "Now, now Stoic language there are young impressionable ears in the room." Alvin heard Stoic growl on the other end of the line "ah, now that he's awake what do you say we say hello huh Stoic? I'm sure you're boy really wants to talk to his Daddy right now?"

Hiccup looked up at the man holding the phone in front of him, he wanted to wipe that stupid smile right off his face, but he couldn't. Not in the condition he was in now hands tied behind his back and strapped to a chair. Not to mention worst of all his dislocated possibly fractured or sprain knee. Hiccup didn't know but he knew that he was in a way more than a dislocated knee should cause him especially after having it popped back into place the pain should have dulled by now.

"Come on Runt Daddy wants to talk to you"

He didn't want to give the man the satisfaction of answering but couldn't deny the want to speak to his father, now more than ever.

He must not have answered fast enough as the man's hand reached out and grabbed a fistful of his hair again giving it a hard tug. "Aaah!" he cried out hearing his father call out his name.

"Hayden!" his father was calling out to him begging him to say something

Again he took a deep breath and stutter out a quick "D-dad…"

"Hayden! Oh, thank Thor. What happened? Are you okay?!"

"I"m- a…" Hiccup paused not knowing how to answer him 'no he wasn't okay not by a long shot but he couldn't tell his father that.

Taking a chance to look into the man's dark eyes beside him and pulled his head away, Alvin let go of his hair and made a gesture with his hand to, "go on" still holding the phone out so the whole room could hear their conversation.

"Son please, speak to me?! Are you – did they hurt you?"

Growling Hiccup took in a few deep breaths "yeah dad, I'm..." abandoning the sentence that he was okay he tried again "they...I – I think my knee's dislocated or -or worse..." that was all he could say before his father exploded.

"WHAT!?"

"Calm down Stoic!" The man yelled over Stoic's cries of vengeance. "Stop or I'll do the same to his other leg!" that caught Stoic's attention "good, now as I said before one hour, north pier, warehouse 36." And with that said he hung up turning towards Hiccup with a smile like this was all a game to him "you make him feisty, I like that."

"Screw you!" Hiccup yelled spitting onto his smug face.

Revolted Alvin took a step back whipping the spit from his cheek. His eyes flashed with dark malice and quickly backhanded Hiccup across the face with such force his head snapped to the side almost taking him and the chair to the ground.

His ears were ringing with the force of the hit as Hiccup shook his head to clear it from the blow as he heard Alvin roar "You will learn to show me some respect boy!" he glared down at him before turning to his partner "gag him we leave in 15 minutes."

"No," Hiccup yelled looking back and forth between Savage and Alvin "get away from me! Don't you touch me!" he fought as the cloth gag that still hung around his neck from earlier was forced back between his teeth "no, no! mmph" Hiccup struggled as the cloth was tied tightly behind his head. He flinched as the cloth pulled against his now swollen cheek.

"Sit tight, I'll be back for you later" Savage grinned as he walked out of the room behind his partner closing the door behind him, Hiccup was then left alone in that small office letting out a frustrated yell not knowing what would happen to him next and hating himself for not being able to stop any of it.
