"So, know you have your beloved coffee within walking distance from school" he teases her.

"Oooh, stop it. You have Starbucks right in front of the school too"

"And why is that again?" she just rolls her eyes. "So I think it's time for me to go." at that moment you could see the pain in their eyes.

"Is it" she looked down.

"Yes, you have to go and talk to your mother. And I have to go to Boston. And the fact that I don't have a car doesn't help a lot" it had started sad, but he manage to make it lighter. Just like everything they do together.

"YES. That's the problem. Like you can't just go to the first car shop and bye knew. . . Take mine."

"No, I can't." "And why is that?" "what would you drive then."

"I don't need a car here. You know Loralie doesn't like society and everything that is associated with it. She would have made a fit. It's better if I don't have it."

He looked at her chorus and asked confused "you are serious" she laughed at that.

"Unfortunately yes. So take it. You can park it at my house if you don't have space. And that way I have one more reason to go to Boston, right." she said smiling her big genuine smiled that Jake loved so much.

"I hope so."

"Can you just drive me to Stars Hollow? I'm not ready to take the bus, just yet." he laughed at her frightened face.

"That I want to see. . . .Loralie Leigh Hayden. . . . taking the bus. . . . It will be iconic…. Come on let go" he manages between laughs.

"Hey, it's not that funny." he just hugged her and direct them to the car.

--

Now they were just pulling into the small town.

"So that is it." her voice was full of pain.

"What is it?" he asked confused. Just with one look, he figured out what she was talking about. "Hey, look at me. We will talk often. And if I remember correctly you are coming for the summer. And when we have business around aider of the cities we will see each other. We will talk every Thursday night I promise"

"Yes. But it won't be the same. That will be the first year that we are not in the same school. That I would not see all of your football games or study while you are on practice. Right"

"You complained every day that you HAD to study while we were playing"

"That doesn't mean I didn't like it. We both know that if I didn't want to be there there was no power in the world that would have made me. But I like them, spreading time with you, or at least around you. . . And who will give me every morning my third cup of coffee."

"Yes, we know. And you will die without your third cup of the elixir of life"

"Yes I would."..." And we are here." she had given him direction the whole drive and now they were in Loralie drive-through.

He got out of the car and open her door for her. He pulls her into a hug. And whisper in her ear.

"Take care of yourself, princess." she hugs him like there was no tomorrow.

"You too"

"So that is goodbye for now"

"For now" They let go of each other.

--

They were so wrapped in each other that not one of them had seen Loralie came out of the house.

She saw the love they held for each other in their eyes. And then the hurt in her daughters while she watched him leave. She decided to announce herself.

"So…:"

"Can we talk inside?"

"Of course. Come in I will make coffee."

Now they were both sitting in the small kitchen drinking coffee in silese.

"Look I am sorry"

"Yoy don't have to be"

"No! You didn't let me finish. I am sorry that I went full blow out on you. You didn't do anything. I overreacted. It's your choice if you tell people about me or not. But the thing is I do mean everything else. Well maybe not the part of the house, but other than that I do."

"And where that leads us. I want a relationship with you Ror."

"I know. And the fact that I am still here, drinking coffee at that moment means that I too want to try. But you have to see. You don't have the right to demand me things or to boss me around. Yes maybe you are my biological mother, but you signed full custody to dad. And with that lost the right to control me. I know that it won't be easy but I want at least to be friends."

"Ok. Friend - Fiends." Loralei smiled. That was more than she deserved and she knew it. But she was grateful for all of it.

--

It was the next day at the Gilmore girl's house. They had spent the majority of the night unpacking and bounding. So they slept till lunch.

"So we are over with the unpacking now what are we going to do"

"I was thinking of introducing you to the town."

"Are you sure? From what you told me last night they don't like every much society. And if you haven't noticed I am everything that they represent."

"You are not"

"Realy look at me. My watch cost more than the entire diner from yesterday make in a week."

"Sure you have expensive clothes and things, but you are nothing like the other society kids" Lorelai minded her language. She knew that if she said the wrong thing it will turn into an argument and that was the last thing that she wanted right now. "You don't look down on people. I saw how you talked to Luke and Kirk. You are very smart and kind. You value people for them and not what they have. And in the end, you will work you will not be one of those Stepford Wives that will stay home and plan parties and be at that insane organization. What was her name?" she asked snapping her fingers searching for the name.

"DAR. Daughters of the American Revolution. And I am already a member of the Boston chapter. And the are only two reasons I am allowed to work is because. First I have a very powerful last name. No, I have two. And the inheritance is too big to give it all to Josh. And they said that a trust fund can't be after some amount of money and I apparently have too much. And I already have a company on my name that no one can do anything about."

Loralie wanted to say something really bad but didn't know what.

"Okey. do you want to do this? Here you will not be Loralei Hayden, let's say Lorelai Gilmore, and people will call you Rory like I do as to not have confusion or something. You will not lie. Your name is Loralei Gilmore after all. We will just forget to mention the other part. Here that name is not a big deal because of me so people will not treat you differently."

"Can we do this and for school. It's not that I don't like my name I do it it's just a big responsibility to wear it. And I want my life in Bostan to stay there."

"Ok I am more than happy to do that"

"For one in my life, I want to live normal. Or as much, as I can"

"So let's go eat. Luke's" her daughter smiled at her and replied happily.

"Yhea. Sounds perfect. I am starving." At that moment her phone rang.

"Hello, Emily. What can I help you with?" Leigh asked with her society tone. If you didn't know her well you could suer that she was sincere.

"Well, dear. I was hoping to have you on Friday night. So we can get to know each other."

" That would be lovely. I just have a question. Does that invitation for Loralei too or just me.

"Oh of course dear. Is for both of you. And please do me a favour and make sure your mother is dressed appropriately."

"I will make sure she comes and is dressed appropriately."

"Thank you. We will see you on Friday at 7. Goodbye."

" See you Friday at 7. Goodbye." as she hangs the phone Loralei shouted.

" Tell me that this was not what I think it is."

"If you think that we are invited to Friday night dinner. Then it is. If not then no it's not."
