When Rayne and Mac returned to their home, he carefully helped her back into her chair. "What time's physio?" Mac knew she had to do her physiotherapy. She grabbed the planner she had and showed it to him. Nodding they both went inside knowing they needed to do a few things. Hawkes arrived while they were out and he chuckled at her. Mac of course had ordered the equipment that she was using at her appointments on request of the therapist. "Ugh that thing again? Don't I have to do it with the woman later too?"

"Yeah but she wants you to be working on it away from her as well," Hawkes answered. Mac knew she had to get up and do it so he left the room. Hawkes held her chair stable as she grabbed the bars and pulled herself out of the chair. Hawkes watched her carefully take a few steps. "Good. You're doing good." She glared at him and he chuckled. "I'm sure you want to punch me in the face with that comment," he began and she nodded. Before she could take many more steps she almost fell and he walked onto the platform and held her until she got the strength back. "That was good. That was a few more steps than last time."

"It really hurts," she answered. He nodded at her and she glared at him. "You said something about the pain being a price. What price is worth this?" He looked at her and she chuckled humorlessly. "I'm not kidding. This is brutal," she snapped.

"Mac," Hawkes warned her looking into her eyes. "Mac's worth this. He hasn't given up on you. So don't give up on him. Let's keep going. Two more sets," he informed. Hawkes didn't mind spending his time doing this with her. She knew she had to continue and sometimes just needed to have a reminder about why she was to continue. When they did finish, Hawkes was going to grab her chair but she shook her head. "What's up?"

"Want to try. Without it," she explained as she was tired. Hawkes put the wheelchair aside and then walked over. "What?"

"You'll fall if you try right now. You need to get the strength back into your legs. So for now, you'll have to have someone holding your arms so then you don't fall." He noticed she was going for the couch and after a few minutes made it. "That was good. But save the rest of your energy for the physiotherapist."

"You vouch that I did the exercise and more," she warned back and he chuckled nodding. She was assuring herself she would be noted by the physiotherapist to have actually made an attempt on her own. He helped her sit on the couch and then watched as she curled up. She looked into how long it would take for a flight to arrive in England.

"What's wrong?" Hawkes was worried now and she showed a picture of Peyton looking frustrated. "Flights take time and she may have had an overlapping flight. Just give her until tomorrow afternoon okay?" She nodded and as Hawkes and her were watching TV, Mac walked out and nodded at them. Hawkes helped Rayne into her chair and as they were driving, Mac noted that she was constantly checking her phone. When they got up to the office, Mac smiled gently as he helped her back into her chair. "Remember. Until tomorrow," Hawkes added taking her phone.

"Fine," she sighed looking annoyed. As Mac got them all into the room he heard his phone go off and Rayne looked at him expectantly thinking it was Peyton but he left the room making Hawkes know what it was. "Is he going to stay this time?"

"Something tells me that the lab is calling and it's about a body. Trust me. If Peyton calls, he'll call your phone and make sure you hear about it," Hawkes answered. As they were waiting for the physiotherapist, Mac was nowhere to be found but Hawkes got a call. "I'll be right back. So if she wants to start ask her to wait one minute," he promised. She nodded and as he walked out he answered it not even looking. "This is Dr Sheldon Hawkes."

"Hawkes it's just me. I got a call from Flack. We all were planning something for the Easter weekend for Rayne. Lindsay and Danny are heading over to the place they took a vacation for the first time when Shane ruined it. So the rest of us were thinking of doing something for Rayne. Could you distract her for a while longer? Lindsay wanted to be a part of it so we're planning it for tonight. Can you manage to get her through it all on your own?"

"Yeah I do her physiotherapy at home anyways. Just come back soon and be a part of her life for this," he answered looking at Rayne through a window. "You want to fill me in on what the plan is for her? After all, it's not like she can be a kid and do an egg hunt."

"No, but we all bought her something," Mac admitted. Hawkes had to chuckle at that and then looked at Rayne. "Don't worry. Flack is a part of the stalling committee so you can go do whatever you need to do," he answered.

"Would I have time to make her an Easter basket of my own?"

"Whatever you need. Flack will stall her." Hawkes smiled as he looked at Rayne and then smiled as she was walking. "How is she doing at the appointment?" He chuckled and that made Mac chuckle back in response. "I'm sure she's going to be a little more tense around her."

"She and I talk a lot when she's not dealing with women. It seems she just wants a reason to fight. So I remind her that you are a reason. I don't bring up Peyton as I don't want her to think that Peyton's coming back while we don't honestly know."

"I'm hoping she does. I want Rayne and Peyton to be a part of a family. They both seemed to be close and I want that relationship for them. When Peyton comes back we'll all have to do something together. Now as for the basket, Flack is already outside. He'll take her around for a bit. So you go get what you need to get," he informed. When Hawkes saw Flack waiting for him, he smiled and took the car that was left for him, while Flack walked into the physiotherapists office.

"Where's Doctor Hawkes?" The Physiotherapist was confused and Flack chuckled. "I don't find that funny officer."

"Mac needed Hawkes. So he sent me to pick her up," he informed as they were finishing. "Is there anything he should be aware of?"

"She doesn't need to do her exercises tonight. I heard from Doctor Hawkes about the steps she took before she came here. She's barely standing as it is right now," she informed as Flack held the chair. He watched as she fell into the chair and closed her eyes.

When Flack saw she was sleeping, he chuckled grabbing a blanket from the back and wrapping her body in it. "Not fully sleep. Where's dad?"

"He's working. So we're going to go for a nice little drive. He said he wanted to meet somewhere when he was done and he estimated he'd be done in about an hour," he explained. She looked at him and he chuckled at her. "Did the woman really send you for a ringer?"

"10 sets on that stupid beam," she muttered and Flack chuckled at her as he kept driving through the city. "I'm hungry," she muttered and Flack heard his phone ring so he opened it and saw it was Mac which meant Hawkes was probably back.

"Hey," he greeted.

"How's she doing? We're still setting up and we need to stall for time."

"Can she eat something? Or is where we're meeting going to have food?" Mac knew he had to pick his words carefully with the fact that Rayne was in the car. But it was clear Rayne had complained of being hungry which he could get. He glanced to see the others arriving with stuff to eat.

"We're going to be eating. If she wants her frozen hot chocolate from her favorite coffee shop though she can get it," he informed. Flack made a small sound and Mac sounded concerned. "I'm worried she'll feel embarrassed about this."

"She's a kid. There's things that it won't be easy on her," he explained as he looked over to see her asleep. "I'll pick up her drink on the way in. She's fast asleep right now. 10 sets of laps on the beam thing," he informed making Mac chuckle. "She's tired Mac."

"She will be. Anyways, if she asks about Peyton when she wakes up, tell her that she's called and she's landed safely."

"She has called?" Flack knew that would get Rayne's nerves settled a bit. He made a small sound and Flack chuckled. "Sorry but you know if she wakes up she's going to ask the very same question I just did to you. So I didn't want to tell a lie."

"Yes she has. She landed an hour ago. Asked how Rayne was and I told her the plan. She'll be calling while we're all having a small gathering," he assured. Flack chuckled and Mac then made a small sound. "Take a longer way around. Jo's bringing Ellie down and needs some time to go get her."

"Already planning on it," he assured. When he hung up he looked over at Rayne's sleeping form and smiled softly at her. "Oh little Rain Drop," he whispered. He knew he had to have the right to call her the name and he'd see if he could when she woke. "You have no idea how loved you are. You have such a big family ready to risk life and limb for you," he mused softly.

When she woke up, he smiled handing her the drink since he had shook her for that exact reason. "Yes," she whispered excited and took it taking a sip. "Thanks." He chuckled and began driving again and making his way to the park. "We meeting up with dad finally?"

"Yes," he promised and he then looked at her. "Have you called Mac that around him?" She shook her head and he looked at her confused. "Why haven't you? You seem so carefree about it away from him, but around him you're nervous?"

"I had one set of foster parents for about a month. I called him dad, because he didn't tell me what to call him, and two days later I'm returned. I asked Ryan Ducatti for the reasons and he said it was because I called him that. It's an internal fear."

"Well I promise he doesn't care. He'd probably secretly rather it," he assured looking at her before parking and as they got out, he smiled as she covered her mouth. "We all wanted to do something together for Easter so we're doing something with Lindsay and Danny since they're going away for the weekend. But the rest of us? We'll be having an Easter dinner as well," he promised.

"Wow," she breathed in shock. As Flack helped her over, Hawkes arrived as well. "You're evil," she warned him and Hawkes snickered. He had made Easter baskets for Rayne and Lucy as they both were old enough to have one each. As Mac watched her slowly lower herself he couldn't believe it. "We worked on that today," she explained looking at his shocked face.

Rayne was about to be asked something by Lindsay when Lucy walked over and looked at Rayne. "Lucy," Lindsay began cautiously. Rayne carefully stood and Mac quickly rushed over to hold her steady. "You really don't have to."

"I can't run after you but I can walk over," she assured. Mac looked at her and she looked at him. "I'm not going to get better if I don't try," she answered. Mac looked at Hawkes who nodded and walked over to Rayne and she had a grip on trees following Lucy.

"You're taking some big steps," Hawkes answered calmly looking at her.

"You said it yourself Hawkes. For every precious thing, there's a painful price. Lucy wants to do something with me, and I don't want to keep saying no. So a little pain is the price," she responded smiling. He chuckled at her and then looked ahead.

"You are making some good strides. I'm also glad to see you're taking what I said to heart." She nodded and as she took another step she covered her mouth and fell down which made Hawkes catch her. "I got you," he soothed as Mac was running over with Danny. "She just fell. I think she's pushed it too far."

"Danny go get her chair," Mac answered. "We'll get you back over to the area we're at and then you can just sit," he answered. As Danny returned, he helped her up and into her chair. Lucy ran over and looked at Rayne nervously. "She's okay."

"I'm fine Lucy. I just did a little too much," she chuckled. Lucy looked to Mac and watched as he wheeled her back. Stella had just arrived as Mac helped lower her as he knew if she put pressure on it again she'd just go down.

"What did I miss?" She looked at the two of them who merely rolled their eyes. "It's not often that I see you two just sitting down."

"Somebody tried to walk over to spend time with Lucy. She overdid it," Hawkes answered as he saw Flack hand Rayne her drink. "When did that come into play?"

"Since after my appointment, while he was stalling for time." Hawkes rolled his eyes and then heard Rayne's phone and she grabbed it as she laid back for once. "Hello?" Everyone waited as they knew who was calling her phone. "How was it? No. Okay that's asking for a miracle," were just a few of the items that slipped from her mouth and everyone knew what the miracle would have been. She was talking to Peyton about Mac and him taking it easy. "When do you think you'll be coming back?" Everyone bit their lips knowing that question was going to come out. Peyton and Rayne had really gotten along when they spent time together so of course Rayne was desperate.

After a few more minutes the call ended but Rayne didn't even get two seconds to relax before it rang again. "You're popular," Hawkes teased and she stuck her tongue out. As she answered it she laid back and covered her eyes. "What could possibly-?"

"How?" Everyone watched Rayne bolt up and her eyes were frantically scanning the park. "Lay a hand on her, and I personally promise you. You will wish you were in the hellhole you belonged in," she snapped forcing herself up and biting her lip. Mac and the others put a hand on their guns knowing she was on the phone with Ryan Ducatti.

"Won't need to," he answered calmly grabbing her from behind and Mac was about to rush him before a gun was against Rayne's head. "I should have known. You'd have your own little protection party," he began. He then pressed the gun to her cheek. "One move on me, and her head is blown off."

"Guys, go find Lucy and protect her. I'm okay," she answered and Lindsay ran with Hawkes to go find Lucy since Ellie and Jo hadn't arrived yet. "What do you want with me Ryan? I never implicated you on anything. I lied for you," she snapped scared. Mac knew what she was referring to. It was all about the orphanage story. She never openly confessed about the illegal nature.

"Well, sadly," he began before he glanced to see many guns at him. "How did you-?"

"You forget Mr Ducatti. Rayne Drop is a protected person with the New York Police Department. You don't think we had plans for something to go south?" Rayne looked to Flack shocked and he chuckled at her. "We knew putting you in the public eye was okay, but we had to have plans in place. So we're ready."

"Well then. I give her a challenge. Find the one who killed her friends," he answered before shoving her down and as he went to aim his gun, Mac and Flack both shot their guns hitting him in the leg. As Hawkes and Danny returned, they helped Rayne up and she was shaking looking at Rayne.

"We'll find him," Rayne warned Ryan. "Meanwhile, you'll be booked. Good luck getting out for a long time," she answered softly.
