Killing Ghosts
Ayanami's plan to lure the other ghosts to a location far away from the districts and to a deserted city worked all too well as he used a Kor disguised as an acolyte to present the fake eye to the church and gave them a tip to that deserted city to find him.
"There's nothing here. This can't be the right place." Teito complained while looking around the buildings.
"We didn't see anything from our side either." Castor added.
Hakuren shouted, pointing at the Kor. "It's him, it's a Kor and it lied to us!"
Before Castor could question the Kor, he clenched his fist and suddenly Kuroyuri fired Warsfeil at the group, killing the Kor.
"I'm hit! Taking cover!" Castor cried.
"Get inside Castor! We'll cover your butt!" Frau shouted.
Ayanami smirked. "Let the slaughter commence."
Kuroyuri snarled. "No way in hell I'm missing this! The purple bishop will pay for killing Haruse!"
Ayanami turned to Eve. "I'm giving you the honor of spearheading the operation. Go now, with my full faith behind you."
Eve's determined green eyes looked at Ayanami. "Yes sir!"
Labrador saw Eve charging at him and tried to call out. "You can still change your mind!" Eve grabbed him by the collar and threw him to Kuroyuri.
"He's all yours, Kuroyuri." Eve said to them.
"Yes! You made me one happy Black Hawk!" They turned malicious and sadistic eyes towards the scared Labrador. "Now for you...I'm going to torture you...slowly...and painfully...and when this is over Profe... you will wish for Lord Verloren to absorb what's left of your pitiful, miserable life!" Kuroyuri summoned Warsfeil and unleashed them on Labrador.
The man's screams of horror and pain are heard by Teito and Hakuren.
"Labrador's down!" Hakuren cried as he had seen the brutal death of his superior at Kuroyuri's hands.
"Don't back down!" Frau shouted.
"Eve, you're going to die here!" Teito snarled, firing Zaiphons at Eve who dodged them expertly.
Eve saw Hakuren fighting Hyuuga and ran to them. Before he could register her presence, Hakuren's nose was smashed due to being smacked with his own Basculus and is used as a human shield.
Teito, who was near him, became enraged at Eve who used Hakuren as a human shield. He tried to fire Zaiphon at Eve but ended up hitting Hakuren instead causing Eve to let go of him as he is dead.
"No! Hakuren!" Teito cried. "You're dead Eve!" Turning eyes of hate towards the woman with green eyes.
"Keep fighting!" Frau shouted.
That was not happening as Eve made a palm strike on his throat and turned him around in a choke hold position. Let Ayanami deal with him she mused.
Eve saw Katsuragi and Frau fighting and Frau used his scythe to impale Katsuragi but the latter stabbed Frau in the chest with the sword. Both died from these actions.
"Over here, Eve!" Ayanami called out. "Our little Ghost just entered here." Ayanami called out tauntingly. "Come out and face us instead of throwing your comrades away like puppets."
They finally found Castor, injured and a puppet next to him. Eve walked to pick it up but barely managed to block Castor's knife aimed at her. The two shrugged for a while but Eve managed to overpower Castor and plunge it deep into his chest, killing him.
"That puppet master should have been put down a long time ago." Ayanami commented. "I should let you know that I have plenty of soldiers in my rise to power. Few meet my expectations, even fewer still surpass them. Your performance has been nothing short of exemplary and I am happy to be here aiding you in putting these damnable ghosts down."
He looked down at the dead Castor and absorbed Fest as he had done Zehel, Landkarte, Vertrag and Profe. "To think after all this time, they still believe that I'm Verloren. As if Verloren could do all this change alone, how simple-minded of them."
He looked at Eve as he continued. "The Church will be just as surprised as the military, even if we did made the best choice for all of Barsburg." He gently pat Eve in the cheek. "For my Warsfeil and my Kors, their eyes are blinded but now opened."
"Come. We still have work to do." Ayanami ordered with Eve behind him.
The Black Hawks left the sight and Hyuuga carried the unconscious Teito with them.

A slap woke Teito up as he viewed his surroundings. It looked to be of interrogation cell.
He saw Ayanami before him but before he could speak, Ayanami held out a hand. "Before you ask, I'll simply say that you are here in my interrogation chamber though there isn't need for any since I have all that I need. The Eye of Mikhail as well as the Pandora's Box is in my possession."
"Eve...she was at the church by your orders didn't she?!" Teito demanded prompting a smirk from Ayanami.
"Indeed. A loyal subordinate of mine: someone who you could have been but didn't when you defected." Ayanami said with fondness before becoming serious. "I bring you an ultimatum: agree to be the vessel of the Eye of Mikhail and serve me and this empire faithfully or I will bring Mikage Celestine here, tear his mind from his body and make him my slave before your very eyes."
Ayanami decided to twist the figurative knife further. "I should let you know that your friend and allies from the church are not coming from you. Your friend is dead by your hand, I absorbed the three Ghosts and killed them with my Black Hawks." He took a measure of delight seeing Teito's face look to be of horror and pain.
Teito thought for a while, digesting all what Ayanami said to him. He was truly trapped with no way out. He looked at Ayanami with eyes filled with hate.
"I accept." Teito said with gritted teeth.
Ayanami's smirk didn't leave him.
