Stranger beside you

*** Venom's narrative (voice-over) ***

We all hide something. What do you hide? A secret? A sin? Or, a demon like me?

"Wait for my sign"

Spencer says as she parks far from the house and gets out of the car to approach a cop in the crime scene. Looking into Alison's memories, Venom is able to put a name to the guy who's speaking now with the brunette.

"Toby"

The encounter looks awkward and maybe that's why it ends so fast. Alison couldn't care less about Spencer's personal life, but her inner demon seems to care, or, at least intrigued by. Venom wants to understand why he's sensing this distress aura around the dear detective. That's why, when Toby is out of the picture and the brunette gives the green light to approach and enter the house, the first thing which comes out of AD's mouth is:

"You look distressed, why?"

"I don't know what you're talking about…"

Spencer tries to ignore the big elephant in the room, but Venom has no intention to drop it.

"Hey!"

The brunette whines when AD, strongly holds her by the arm, forcing her to lock eyes. Spencer gulps hard, a cold chill runs over her skin as she stares at those blue eyes which reveal a deep darkness inside.

"Do not lie to me, detective. You promised to not lie, so, do not start now…"

Spencer gulps as she understands how much it means a lie to the blonde. In the past, everyone lied to her, even her dear mermaid. So, to say that Alison is done with lies is far to be a fact. If Spencer really wants to amend their friendship, she has to be honest, even if saying the truth is not in her DNA.

"I'm sorry, you're right, AD. I'm distressed"

AD let's go of Spencer's arm, but she asks again why. And, why does Venom care? Why is it so damn important to know what is happening in Spencer's mind? Well, we don't know the answer to that yet, but, we know that Spencer's distress is driven by the previous meeting with her Ex.

"Ugh, human and their emotions, so basic…"

The blonde rolls her eyes, AD looks annoyed by the fact that such a basic thing as meeting with an Ex, could cause so much distress in the detective. It's a cold and arrogant reaction from the blonde, which is not well appreciated by the brunette. Maybe that's why Spencer snaps back, shouting how basic Alison would be too, if she had to face Emily. She regrets immediately what she said, but AD doesn't look upset. How could it be? After all, who's in charge right now is not Alison, it's Venom, who has no issue to overshare info and even the inner demon agrees with her.

"Do not apologize, detective. You're right, Alison is so basic too when it's about her Ex, Emily. Maybe that's why she didn't dare to say a word the other night when she called her…"

"Oh, well… wait! You, what?! You called Emily?!"

"I didn't call her, Alison did…"

"You're Alison!"

"No, I'm not. I thought we already established that, detective"

Spencer rolls her eyes, she is starting to believe Alison suffers a DID. A Dissociative Identity Disorder, probably caused by the horrors she lived back then in this town. God knows not one of the squad left this stabby town with its sanity intact. And, dealing with Alison's double personality is something she might have to get used to. Nevertheless, that's not the point here, now, she needs to know what happened when Alison called Emily. Spencer gave her the phone number of the mermaid but, she never thought Alison would really call Emily and now that she knows she did it, well, she has to know more about it, and thankfully, contrary to Alison, Venom is an open book who shows no hesitation to spill the beans.

"There's nothing to say, really. Alison called this Emily, she answered the phone and that's all…"

"That's all? What do you mean?!"

"I mean, nothing happened. No words were exchanged, the brunette hung up before Alison could say a word…"

"Oh…"

"Emily's reaction was reasonable, I mean, Alison did nothing else besides, breathing heavily as she held the phone. Anyone would have hung up the phone too…"

Spencer doesn't know what to say, one part of herself feels relieved and the other part feels more conflicted because she should say something to comfort Alison, but, she has nothing besides sharing her own experience to deal with an Ex.

"It was very brave of you to call her and It's also understandable your reaction…"

"Alison's reaction?"

"Well, yeah! Yours, hers, whatever! What I'm trying to say is, it's hard to speak again with someone you loved, especially when there's so much angst between the two"

"Mhmm… it's that what happened to you when you met again with this Toby?"

Spencer frowns as Alison refers to Toby as if he was a complete stranger to her. Well, they weren't besties but, they did know each other, is what she thinks, but, to be really honest, Toby as well as Toby & Spencer's relationship and past, it's something new and foreign for Venom. Regardless of how much Alison might or not know about Toby and Spencer' story, Venom is intrigued to know more and the detective summarizes it, giving just the big lines. And, mostly the reason why she and Toby broke up.

"You had an abortion?"

Spencer nods, she has never spoken about this with someone else besides her therapist. So, how is that she's sharing this information with no other than AD? Alison has a big history of using this kind of information for her benefit, making profits of the secrets of others, it was Alison' speciality. And, Spencer might be insane for sharing these details with her, but she needs to vent, and, right now, the only one around here to hear her out is Alison. So...

"We were in college. We didn't plan for it, I wasn't ready for it, and I just…"

Looking through the window, Spencer realizes how it's starting to rain outside and it brings her back to that day when she made the call.

"It was raining too the day when I took the pregnancy test. We were in my dorm room. Toby was constantly asking me how long did it take to know the results..." (sad laughs) "The longest 3 minutes in my life"

Spencer deeply sighs as she recalls their conversation. The pros and cons, the constant disagreement on what to do next. Toby didn't want to make it harder for her, but he was ready to make a step that even now, Spencer doesn't feel ready to do it. And, seeing Toby again, it just brought back all of that. The distress, the grief. Spencer doesn't regret her decision, she wasn't ready to be a mom. But, even if she's at peace with her choice, the decision she made back then, it caused her so much pain, so much sorrow. It caused her everything, even Toby.

"He supported my decision but, I can still see it in his eyes, how I broke something inside him…"

Human emotions, so basic, so unnecessary and annoying. Venom never cared to deal with them till this moment, till the moment he decides to hug the brunette who's crying right now for the only life she has taken.

"I killed him! I killed my baby! I'm a monster!"

"You're not a monster, detective, believe me, I know about evil more than what you might think and you are definitely not a monster"

AD says nothing else, no sarcastic comment, no other word, just silence as Spencer cries in the arms of AD. And, a hug, a safe place to vent and cry is all what Spencer needed.

*** Spencer's narrative (voice-over) ***

In the game of mercy. When one kid cries out, the other listens and the pain stops. Don't you wish it was that easy? Life is not a game, we're not kids anymore. And, you can cry all you want, screaming mercy into the void because the pain will not stop. But if you're lucky, someone listens, really listens to your void, to your misery and somehow, this person might help you to endure the pain. Because, yeah, the pain will never stop, but, you can learn to live with it.

"Ok! Let's get back to work…"

Spencer says when there's no more tears to share. She feels better to do what they came to do. She leaves AD's arms as soon as she feels in good shape and somehow Venom misses the warmth of holding Spencer between its arms. Why? Why did the symbiote hugged her? Longing for human touch is not in his nature. So, from where came the hug? Venom doesn't know, and, to be honest, it doesn't want to know. Whatever that hug made it feel, Venom decided to push it down.

"Do you see something useful, AD?"

Spencer asks as she doesn't know where to start looking or what they are really looking for. But, what she ignores, it's that each smell is a narrow track towards the possible truth. Venom could share what he's sensing. But, why would he cooperate? Why would he help the detective to catch the culprit?

The blonde has a devious smirk on her lips and a gaze which gives the chills to Spencer. Something is different in AD. Something strange and Spencer opens her mouth, ready to ask, but no words come out, she chicken out. Why? Spencer shakes her head, she's being paranoid again or at least it's what she says to herself.

'There's nothing strange with Alison' Spencer says to herself in her mind, as she walks around the house, flipping things up to find something useful. And, while Spencer tries to shake off the feeling she has a stranger beside her, the blonde, on her side, she silently observes the detective.

Why is the inner demon intrigued by the detective? Venom doesn't get why Spencer awakes this curiosity in him. But, he had sensed it for a while, each time they get to work with Spencer, while Alison is in charge of the body, he's there too, watching, listening. Venom is always there, even if most of the time he acts like a dormant volcano who only erupts when it's time to eat. He's always there without being able to say or do something. So, this is his perfect opportunity to fulfil his curiosity about the detective. And, maybe by doing it, this longing of closeness would disappear.

"Stop staring at me…"

"Huh? Why, detective?"

"Because, it's creepy"

Venom laughs, just like Alison, Spencer amuses him so much. Why? Maybe deep down, he wants to know if the dear detective can match up to him. After all, Spencer's job is to hunt bad guys, just like Venom. So yeah, the dear demon is intrigued to test Spencer's skills. Venom is only interested in Spencer, it's to see if she can catch bad guys as fast as him.

"AD, are you really just planning to watch me doing all the work, or do you plan to do something at all?!"

"I'm doing something: watching you work"

AD smirks and Spencer groans as she's not in the mood for dealing with AD' sassy attitude. The blonde has no intention to move a finger. Spencer doesn't get what Alison is trying to prove here, acting so mysterious and not willing to collaborate. But, what this detective ignores, it's that Alison is not here, not right now. Venom is in charge and he wants to find out why Spencer intrigues him so much. Is Spencer as basic as the rest of her species? He wonders and Venom wants to know what's so special about Spencer to catch his attention. And, the young Hastings doesn't disappoint when she starts to arm the case.

"There was a woman, here…"

'Not bad, detective' Venom thinks as AD smiles. It took Spencer a long time, but she finally found what Venom sensed the moment they stepped inside the house. Venom has a super sense of smell, he immediately detected the sweet fragrance of a woman in the air. But, how did Spencer figure out what her human senses can't feel? Well, Spencer explains how the hardwood shows marks of heels and looking closely at the carpet of the living room, she finds an earring which might belong to the real culprit. Spencer feels so proud of her discovery till she realizes that she's not the 1st one on finding out that a woman might be the clue to solve this murder.

"Well done, detective! I'm impressed, it took you more than an hour to figure out what I already knew, but still, it's impressive"

"Well, yeah, wait! Huh? What do you mean with you 'knew'?"

"Well, I noticed the essence of a woman the second we walked in, through that door"

"And, why have you said nothing till now, AD?!"

"Well, where is the fun in that? I'm intrigued to see how you work, why would I make it easier for you?"

Spencer rolls her eyes, she really has not the patience for dealing with a teasing Alison today. But, let's say that AD will do more than teasing her because after all, two minds think better than one.

"So, Kenneth was found here, in the middle of his living room. Stabbed, Am I right, detective?"

Spencer nods and she gasps in shock when she sees how AD grabs her from the shoulders and pushes her down, to take the position of Kenneth, lying down on the floor.

"What the hell are you doing?!"

"C'mon detective, we need to rebuild the scene, what better way to understand the mind of the culprit?"

The blonde makes a valid point, so Spencer decides to cooperate and stay still while AD simulates to stab her like the culprit.

"1… 2… 3… how many stabs did he get?"

"Why is that relevant?"

Spencer doesn't understand why the blonde is asking such technical details. AD has no forensic skills, but Venom knows more about killers than what Alison & Spencer could think. And, that's why, the dear evil says as he moves the arm like if he was stabbing the detective.

"Well, I'm not an expert, but I believe 3 or 4 stabs should do the trick, especially if they are directly to the chest"

Recalling what Toby said and what she got from the file of the case she saw in the Police station. Spencer says...

"He got stabbed over dozens of times. He literally bled to Death"

AD simulates stabbing Spencer's chest, over and over, letting her hand hang over the heart, imaging what it would feel to really kill a human like that. Spencer gulps hard, wondering what devious thoughts the blonde is having in her mind.

"AD…?"

"So, I stab you, 1… 2… 3 times… the last one directly to the heart. You stop breathing, you stop moving. And, I keep stabbing you… why? You're dead already, but, I keep going, why?"

"Because you want to do something more than just kill me…"

Spencer stands up, a clic finally happens in her brain and she sees where AD wanted to go with this.

"If the culprit stabbed your father so many times, killing wasn't the goal. He wanted to infringe on him, he wanted to see Kenneth suffering. And, if an agonizing Death was what the culprit desired, then, he probably was driven by its own emotions. Driven by rage or… Love?"

"Feelings, so easy people get controlled by them, it's so basic"

"Well, you might think it's basic, AD, but, I believe it's human. And, I have seen it in other cases. Emotions can really cloud your judgment and push you to your limits to do the unthinkable, like killing someone"

"And, you still wonder why Alison doesn't want to feel a thing?"

Spencer rolls her eyes, she will not argue with AD about this topic for now. Because she strongly believes that shutting off the emotions is not the solution. But, they have plenty of time to discuss that, for now, all that matters is that they might have a lead to solve this case.

"So, was it love or rage, detective, the motive of the culprit?"

"I don't know… Both?"

Venom has no experience with feelings, but for what he has sensed from Alison, Love is a bitch and it can lead to a dark path very fast. The stabbing is very frequent in the affairs of revenge and love. So, maybe, they have found the motive, but, while they might have found the 'WHY', they are still missing the 'WHOM'. They need to find the owner of the earring. And, because they are working against time, AD decides to help when AD describes the aroma of this woman.

"How the hell can you describe her perfume? Do you smell her?!"

"I've a really good sense of smell. For instance, you smell bitterly bad today. And, I don't think it's for the distress of meeting your Ex or the crying. You didn't shower, isn't?"

Spencer blushes and looks away, she didn't have the time this morning, it's what she says and AD laughs, amused by her answer.

"Anyway, besides your bitter smell. I peek at the scent of another woman. The scent of a woman is unique. No one smells the same and Alison has had sex with enough women to confirm my theory. None of her sexual encounters has ever smelled the same"

"With how many women have you slept?"

"Me, none. Alison, well, I already lost the count. Why? Do you want the exact number? I can do the maths if you like, detective"

Spencer blushes and looks away, the last thing she needs, it's to know how active is Alison' sexual life. A deeper look into Alison' sex life is not a topic she wants to dig in, so, Spencer shakes her head, she has no intention to know Alison's number.

"You know what, it doesn't matter. I don't want to know, AD. Let's just focus on finding this lady. Do you think you could follow the smell?"

"I'm not a dog!"

"And yet, I see something of Hooch in you"

The blonde pouts, being compared with an animal is not something Venom likes, but, it's true that like any dog, he's more than capable of following a smell. In terms of aromas, AD is right, none is the same. And, sadly for Spencer, the scent AD describes and follows, it leads them to a house she knows too well, because she grew up there.

"Mom, what did you do…?"

*** Spencer's narrative (voice-over) ***

Everyone hides something. Why? Well, that's a very good question. But, are we brave enough to ask why? Are we prepared to reveal the truth? You never know, till you stand in front of the door which might open your eyes to something more.

"Who is it? I'm coming. One second"

Spencer takes a deep breath, she's very conflicted as she waits for her mother to open the door. She could just get in, but somehow, she preferred to knock and get some extra minutes to put her act together before facing her mom for a crime she might have committed. Veronica Hastings smiles when she sees Spencer at the door, it was an unexpected visit, but the old woman wastes no time to hug her daughter with nothing more than love.

"Oh, Spencer! What a surprise! I'm so happy to see you!"

"Yeah, well, don't be…"

"Huh? What do you mean, honey?"

Spencer's presence in town was unexpected, but it was more unexpected to find out the motives of why she was here, looking for her mom.

"Did you kill him, mom?"

"What?! Spencer, what are you talking about?"

Going directly to the point is not how she was planning to start the conversation, but, the doubt is killing her, she needs to know, she needs to know if her mother killed Kenneth and the whole idea of believing Veronica could do such a thing, it brings so much pain to the two of them that it's hard to watch.

"Mom, please, do not look at me like that! Just tell me! Did you kill Keneth?!"

The pain in Veronica's eyes will forever haunt Spencer but there's no way to walk out of this. She needs to find the real culprit, even if that means to put her own mother behind bars. But, the truth is….

"I didn't kill him, Spencer! How can you think I could kill him?"

"You were in his house, what was I supposed to think?"

"What? Non, I…"

Spencer shows her the earring she found and Veronica gulps hard when she realizes there's no reason to lie about her presence in the house. But contrary to what Spencer might think, she was in that house because…

"You were having an affair with Alison's Dad?!"

"It wasn't an affair, Spencer. You make it sound like something forbidden. Let me remind you, I divorced your father a year ago and Kennet was a widow. So, we weren't doing anything wrong, or dirty. Well, sometimes it was dirty but…"

"Gross, gross, gross! Please stop talking. I really do not need and want to hear any detail about whatever you and Kennet did in the middle of his living room"

There's an awkward moment because of all the things Spencer was getting ready to hear, sex, was never one of them. No one is ready to talk about sex with their parents. Neverthless, Spencer needs to know more about it.

"Did you love him?"

"It wasn't love, Spencer, we just…" (Deep sighs) "We were just trying to fill a void in our lives"

Spencer nods, she gets what Veronica is trying to say. Personally, she has been filling her void with work. Avoiding any real connection with anyone since Toby and the abortion, it's not healthy, but, right now, it's all she can manage. Maybe, one day, she will be able to move forwards and long for happiness, but, that day is not today. Today, all she can manage is to solve this case to exonerate Jason from a crime he didn't commit, so she resumes her interrogation.

"I've no intentions to hear about your sex life, mom. It's your private life and I've no say on it. But, Kenneth is dead and you probably were the last person to see him alive. So, tell me, what happened last night?"

"Well, I… actually, I wasn't the last person to see him last night"

"Are you talking about Jason? Jason arrived at the house or…?"

"No, I didn't see Jason. I know he was in town because Kenneth was looking forward to meeting with him. Kenneth mentioned something about retiring, making amends and restoring their relationship. Anyway, last night, I was already on my backyard when I saw a car parking in front of the house"

"What car? Could you recognize it?"

Of course she could recognize the car, after all, she has seen that car plenty of times because the car belongs to…

"Liam Thomson"

The man screams, afraid of watching a ghost in his house, but it wasn't a ghost or an apparition. It was real, Kenneth's daughter was here, inside his house, waiting for him in the living room. And, you might wonder why AD is here alone, without the detective. Well, let's say that waiting for the detective to arm their case in the police station and get the cops' support, it's not Venom's thing. He doesn't like to wait to get what he wants. And, Spencer might believe she can get Tanner to investigate their lead, but AD knows better than to trust in a broken judicial system. That's why, AD is here, to deal with it, in its way.

"It can't be… you… you're…"

"Dead? Well, what I can say, hell is empty and all the evils, we're here in Earth"

The devious smirk of the blonde makes the man pale. As the right-hand man of Kenneth, he knows about Alison, about Jason and everything linked to the DiLaurentis family, aside the fact that the blonde was still alive.

"You have no right to get into my house just like that! I'll call the cops!"

"Oh, please do. And, when you do it, please tell them too that the real killer of Kenneth is here, too"

"What? Are you insinuating that you killed Kenneth?"

"Oh, no! Jason and me, we didn't kill him and do you know why? Because we couldn't care less about Kenneth! It's sad, yes, but, it's the truth! There was no real indication of love at all in our family"

"What you're saying, it's true. Mr DiLaurentis lacked love coming from his family and…"

"And, you did your best trying to fill that void. Am I right?"

"I was like a son to him!"

"Mhmm… are you sure? Because if that's true, then, why did he ask Jason to come home?"

The blonde shows a piece of paper she found in his home. It was a copy of an email of Kenneth, asking Jason to return home to take his rightful place as his only heir. Liam doesn't look shocked to read this again, he looks upset, angry even as he crumples the paper.

"All your hard work, all your love and devotion towards Kenneth, all for nothing as the prodigal son was supposed to return and sit on the throne"

"I dedicated my life to him! To his company! It's me the one who should get it all!"

"As his right-hand man, you saw yourself as the only heir to inherit and control the entire company since neither of his kids was around" (mocking laughs) "I cannot imagine your big disappointment when you realized that Kenneth never saw you as a son or an heir to his legacy"

"I loved him as the father I never had, and, I…"

"You were just a stranger beside him…"

The young man gets angry, his obsession to believe he was more than an employee to Kenneth was so tangible than the cruel truth made him mad.

"You loved him as a family, as a father and how did he pay you? For all your love? With nothing more than…"

"Indifference! I asked him to put me in charge of everything, to trust me with his legacy and what did he do? He laughed at my request, telling me I was no one! No one!"

"And, being treated as an outsider, a stranger, it hurt you hard, so hard that you killed him"

"I… I… I just wanted him to love me. To notice me and appreciate me but, I was just a stranger beside him, so, I snapped, I didn't plan for it and then, I was just there, stabbing him, just like he stabbed me with his disdain"

He killed Kenneth, he didn't plan for it, it just happened when the rage hit him, when the pain and anger became too much. And, just like that night, his rage is high right now, but, contrary to Kenneth, AD is harder to kill.

"I'm not going to jail for this! I'm gonna kill you too!"

"You shouldn't be afraid of jail, you should be afraid of me"

The mad man leaps on the blonde with all the intentions to kill her too. But, to Liam's bad luck, he has chosen the wrong girl to mess up with.

"Oh, this is gonna be fun"

It's all what AD says before screams of pain is all what you could hear on the block. Moments later, Spencer arrives at the house with the cops when some neighbors call about the screams in the house. The brunette takes her weapon as well as Toby and Tanner, ready to face a mad man, but, before they could get into the house, Liam gets out, throwing himself to them, falling into their arms as he's more than ready to confess his sin.

"I killed him! I killed Kenneth! Please! Arrest me! Take me with you before she eats me alive!"

"She...who…?"

"She's the devil! The devil!"

Neither Tanner, Toby or the rest of the cops, they have an idea of what he's talking about, but, Spencer has a pretty good idea of who might have scared this man to the Death.

"Damn it, AD. What the hell did you do to him?"

It's what Spencer asks as soon as she's alone, once again with the blonde.

"Well, yes, that is a very good question, but that's not the question you really want to ask"

Spencer stays in silence as she has so many questions right now, but…

"Are you brave enough to ask me what you want to know about me? That's the real question, detective"

They stare at each other and right now, the blonde looks like a mystery for Spencer. A mystery, she's not sure to want to solve. Shaking her head, the brunette says nothing more as they get ready for what comes next.

*** Alison's narrative (voice-over) ***

Believing in something, it's very hard, especially in this cynical world. But, it's the traditions that become helpful when someone dies. In any religion, there are protocols to deal with the lost, to know how to say goodbye. And, you never appreciate their existence till the day you use them to grieve.

"We are here today…"

The priest starts talking. Like the day before, it's raining, but the rain doesn't stop the ceremony in the graveyard. Jason is there to say the eulogy. He's free of charges, he's here to say his last good-bye to his father and Spencer is at his side as moral support as she softly puts her hand on Jason's back. She's physically there with him, but her eyes, her thoughts, they are on the blonde who's looking at the funeral from far.

'You should take control, Alison' It's what Venom says to Alison as he gives back the control of her body. She hesitates on taking it, but, deep down, she wants to feel this, she wants to really be here to say goodbye. Kenneth was far to be the perfect father, but even then, he was her father and as his sarcophagus descended six feet underground, all what Alison could think about was the few happy memories she had with him. So lost in memoryland that she misses to notice when Spencer is back at her side.

"It was a nice funeral"

"No one showed up…"

Alison says as she sees that just Jason and Veronica Hastings came to the funeral.

"Maybe, in such short notice no one could come…"

"You don't need to sugar it for me, Spencer. No one came because no one cared…"

"AD…"

"It's okay. This is better than fake tears…"

Recalling her own funeral, the blonde feels so much anger when she recalls seeing all the squad, crying at her funeral. Their sorrow felt fake and maybe that's why right now, Spencer strongly holds her hand and says.

"My tears back then and now, they are not fake. They are real, because I care. I care for Jason and I care for you too, even if you find that really hard to believe. People care about you…"

Looking at each other into the eyes, Alison deeply sighs as she might be able to believe her. She wants, God knows she wants to believe that she has someone who really cares for her, but she can't allow herself to feel a thing. After all, that was the deal with Venom.

Turning her look back to where Jason is, standing in front of the grave where the wooden box is now laying 6 feet underground. Alison doesn't feel the need to stay here any longer. And, that's why she starts to walk back to their car as she speaks what is in her mind.

"You're right, Spencer. I don't believe you. But, maybe one day, you might be able to change my mind…"

"Is that your way to tell me you want me to stay around…?"

Alison smirks when she replies

"This is me, telling you that you're not as awful a partner as you're like a friend…"

Spencer smirks, 'partner', somehow, she feels okay with being no more than that for now.

"So, we're a team now?"

Alison rolls her eyes, already regretting Venom's desire to keep catching bad guys with the detective. Spencer & her, solving crimes, it's not how Alison wanted her life to go, but one thing is sure. Venom wants to stay around the brunette and somehow, Alison sees no harm in giving him what he wants.

The idea of catching bad guys, it brings a sparkle in AD's eyes and Spencer shakes her head, already imagining what she has in mind.

"If you believe I'll let you do whatever you want. You're completely wrong!"

"I'm not gonna ask your permission!"

"Look, I don't know what you did to Liam, but, if we're doing this, if we're gonna be partners. Then, we will have rules"

"You're not fun, you know?"

Spencer doesn't reply, but she chuckles as they get in the car. The engine is turned on just as well as Spencer's doubts about this future partnership. Alison has never been a good team player, so she has no idea how this will work for them. In another thought, the idea of always having AD around, could allow her to keep an eye on her, so, maybe this 'partnership' will not be such a bad idea at all.

Maybe partners can be the beginning to repair their friendship. Maybe their partnership will help them to repair their broken souls as they catch bad guys. Whatever will be the outcome of this new deal between the two of them, Spencer is gonna give it a try. And, Alison's inner demon couldn't be more eager to go back to the big apple and get back to business. But, before starting a new chapter, Alison gives to the cemetery and this stabby town, one last look before leaving.

"Goodbye Rosewood…"

Alison says goodbye, and the two of them are ready to leave this town. They fail to notice that in the cemetery, there's someone else who just arrived. A brunette who's getting out of her car with a bouquet of flowers to show her respect to Mr DiLaurentis and Jason. A brunette who didn't see Spencer, but who noticed the passenger of the car Spencer was driving. The brunette saw her, the blonde who keeps hunting her thoughts.

"Alison…?"

It was too fast when the car drove by, but the brunette has no doubt. It was Alison, the one who was in that car.
