Chapter 6-
she heard a squeak from her apartment door.
She immediately stood even though her thigh was bleeding heavily, she opened her bathroom door to see who came in but then she started hearing.
"pizza delivery"
"is anybody home?" it was House.
"Cameron I'm sorry we got in without permission, we were worried." Wilson said.
She closed the bathroom door and locked it. with her thigh still bleeding uncontrollably she knew she wouldn't make it any longer. the floor surrounding her had a little puddle of blood and her body was about to shut down.
She started hearing footsteps getting closer and closer, she heard the steps going toward her bedroom and she knew that the bathroom was the next stop. With the steps getting stronger to the sound with each step, she heard the handle turning and she knew they were behind that door. All she could do now is to make excuses.
"Cameron? Are you in there" Wilson spoke from the other side.
"yeah" she answered.
"why did you run? We're worried" he asked.
"you're worried, I'm just interested' House teased.
"I'm worried" he corrected.
"as you can see, I'm inside the bathroom, and what do you do in the bathroom you ask? Poop" she answered sarcastically.
"so, it's all about you needing to poop?" Wilson asked.
"yes" she was relieved he bought it.
"I don't believe you" house stated.
"why? Do toilets not meant for pooping anymore?" Cameron answered.
"they do, but you're not on the toilet." He claimed.
"I am" she now beginning to feel dizzy from the blood loss.
"no, you're not. Open the door" House dared her once again.
"I'm not go...going to ope...n the door!" speaking started to get hard for her.
"your voice is the same way as it were when you passed out, open the goddamn door!" he commanded.
"m.. My voice... i..is fi...ne" her eyelids became hard to keep open.
"it's either you're opening the door or I'm breaking in" he threatened.
"…" she stopped talking.
"Wilson, go grab the chair over there, we're going to break in" House ordered.
"I'm not going to do that" Wilson tried respecting her privacy.
"you're an idiot. Your friend is probably passed out in there who knows from what and you're refusing because you gave her your trust?" House spat.
"fine" he gave in.
After they made a hole in the door, they could see Cameron laying in a puddle of blood and that's when they started to be aggressive, they banged the door with the chair and House's cane and finally could get through the door. They rushed in with a shocked look on their faces.
"Cameron!" Wilson shouted.
"she has at least 2 units of blood loss"
House opened his phone and dialed 911 "I need an ambulance to 1107 Wedgewood Cir, 31-year-old female, at least two units bleed. Take her to PPTH".
While Wilson is putting pressure on her deep wounds, he is terrified. He didn't know she was that damaged.
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
Cameron started to regain consciousness and when she opened her eyes, she saw a hospital room, and she was in a hospital bed.
"good morning sunshine" House said from the couch in her room.
"what?" she was confused.
"you basically almost offed yourself."
"how?"
"you lost 2 units of blood." He paused "oh and you slitted an artery."
"but..." she tried.
"yeah, yeah yeah you're not cutting we all heard that argument before, but why do you keep on with this huh? You are here because you very clearly cutted yourself, since there was no one in that room and the last time I checked there is no god" he said insensitivity.
"what do you mean I slitted an artery?" Cameron still in shock.
"you took a blade and tried to make yourself a corpse" he said sarcastically.
"I didn't" she explained.
"then what were you doing? Playing doctor and patient?" he looked with narrow eyes at her.
"I didn't try to kill myself" she accounted.
Looking confused, he asked "then why did you do it?"
"I don't want to talk about it" she said.
"try" he had to know.
"please don't" her face facing the floor from discomfort.
"I want to help you" he said.
"you don't, you just want to solve your puzzle" she sighed.
Knowing she was right, he had to make her confess "I just want my employee to be ok" it almost sounded like he cared.
"I can't I'm sorry" she couldn't do it.
"but you know you can't go back to work right?" he asked.
She swallowed hard and asked "what?" she knew she won't be allowed to go to work if this habit was out, but she was still shocked.
"you obviously know that this behavior is going to make you stop working, so why are you surprised? There is still a piece of puzzle that I'm missing, aren't I?" he smirked.
"no there isn't" she knew that even if he knew about her self-harm, he couldn't know about her eating disorder, it would make her lose the little portion she has of control and privacy.
"based on that 'you found my secret porn' look I'm going to say it's bigger than I think" House said pleased.
"no. stop entertaining yourself and tell me what I'm supposed to do to start working again" she deflected.
"oh, no no no miss Cameron, I just found out there is so much more information I'm missing. You're going back to work once you're healed" he had a self-satisfied smirk.
"why?" she was confused.
"because... it's much harder to analyze and interrogate you when I can't see you 14 hours a day." He explained.
"I'm glad I'm such a big part of your interest but you won't find anything." She said hiding her shaky hands from his sight.
"so, what is it? Why did you do it? Dysfunctional family, abused by boyfriend or is it because you can't stop loving me" he mocked.
"and why would I do that?" Cameron asked, she managed to confuse him. "do what?" he dry swallowed a Vicodin.
"help you found that piece of puzzle you lost behind the couch, that wouldn't be fair right? Since you consider yourself john Cena" she scoffed.
"well played, but be careful, Wilson is now a few feet away, and oh boy he is tied up in knots about last night" he took his cane and limped out of the room.
She had a few seconds before Wilson got into the room and will start acting like a mama bear. She hated that they knew, especially House. He is like a 98-year-old grandma with a grandson coming out as gay. He doesn't understand. He should, he has his own addiction. And he's smart enough to know that what she had is an addiction. He should know that it's hard for her. he should be supportive, not judgmental.
She had exactly 46 seconds to think before he came in.
"hey" he said with his 'you have cancer' look.
"hi" she greeted him back.
"how are you feeling" he asked like he didn't know the answer.
"I'm fine thank you" she responded.
"I'm sorry if it's awkward to talk about what happened but we can talk about it if you want to" he said in a soothing voice.
"I don't" she replied.
"then you can just listen, you are hurting, and it's ok, everyone struggles from time to time. Self-harm isn't the answer" he said.
"for me it is" she argued.
"you're having a rough time, I know you're in pain but don't self-destruct, it's not the answer" he tried to reassure but made the opposite impression.
She was starting to get angry, what does he know; she thought. He doesn't understand how it's like. Sure, his brother is schizophrenic too but at least he didn't have his mom yell that she loathed him. He didn't have his uncle rape him twice. He doesn't even understand how it feels to loathe yourself. It's a constant reminder that you're a failure, that you're dumb, stupid, selfish, worthless, pathetic and a piece of the vomit that homeless guy down the street puked last Saturday.
After a few seconds of silence she spoke, but it was shouting and crying this time. "how do you know? It's not from time to time! Maybe for you, for me its decades upon decades! You have no right to tell me what a good choice is. I know what I'm doing, I am aware of the risks. Just..." she suddenly stops. Her eyes started to blink rapidly, and she started seizing.
The ER was so worried about her leg that it missed the dangerously low glucose. it was so low she started seizing.
"I need 9.2mg of diazepam in here stat!" Wilson shouted to the nurse's station.
House heard Wilson's scream and was confused so he went to check what was going on.
"what did you do with her?" House asked Wilson.
"nothing, she was just really upset and then her eyes started to roll and blink really fast, and she started to seize" he replied.
Wilson continued "help me get her on the side so she won't inhale" he commanded house.
"why would she seize?" House silently asked himself.
"stop questioning and start helping for once!" Wilson yelled.
"okay, okay" House helped him turn her to the side.
"she's inhaling, suction." Wilson said.
After a minute, her seizure stopped, and she regained consciousness.
"why are you two in here?" Cameron asked still disoriented from the seizure.
"you had a grand mal seizure" Wilson informed her.
"why did you?" house asked her.
"how am I supposed to know" she was confused by his questions.
"the weird thing is, it took the drugs to take an effect only after a minute, which Is odd since it takes diazepam between 15 to 30 seconds to work" House mentioned.
"House she just had a grand mal seizure. She must be exhausted, leave her alone" Wilson empathize.
"but you know it's weird, she came in for a massive bleed and a slitted artery, why would she seize?" House said intrigued.
"she has a history of hypoglycemia, maybe she didn't eat... she ran a few miles. The body uses glucose for energy, if she didn't have enough glucose already, which can lead to severe hypoglycemia. and if it got under 40mg then it would explain the seizure" Wilson explained.
"good diagnosis, get her to eat something or pump her with glucose" House said and left the oncologist to supervise his employee.
"oh Cameron Cameron" Wilson signed to himself.
Meanwhile House is trying to somehow come up with the rest of what the hell is going with Cameron. So many question marks, too much thinking. Why can't I solve this case? It's supposed to be easy. I know her for so long but still can't figure out what is going on with her. he thought. But even if someone has such big intellect like House, Cameron is covering her whole identity and what is going on with her for years. Her mystery can't be solved.
Thank you for reading this far! I hope you enjoyed this chapter, if you liked it, you can always review, if you didn't, you can always review what you didn't like and what I can improve.
This chapter took me longer write since I'm practicing math and learning medicine, and I am sorry for the wait.
Love you all! 3
