AN: So, as you may have noticed if you read the previous rewrite, I have changed some of it but a fair chunk is still the same. However, after this chapter we will start on the original content.
Chapter 6
Beth strutted into the cooler like she owned the place, a huge smile on her face.
"Victory is mine, Victory is mine, Great day in the morning Mr Reid, Victory is mine."
"I'm not bringing you the finest bagels and muffins in all the land." Hector replied, "Sorry."
"He also can quote The West Wing, be still my beating heart." Bethany joked, placing a hand over her heart and the other at her forehead, like she was feeling faint.
"Sit yourself down Beth." Hector pointed at the desks in front of him.
She sat down at a desk near the front, placed her bag carefully on the floor and just sat there, grinning like a loon.
"Miss Boston and I had a bet on that you would be here before this period was out," Mr Reid said with a shake of his head, "Maths with Mr Lawson wasn't it."
Beth nodded, "Revision classes are so tedious, figured I'd come and brighten up your day with my sparkling presence."
"What did you do exactly?" Mr Reid asked, curious about how she'd come about being sent here.
"Asked Lawson what he thought of his ex, Mason, moving on, and with our dear exec head also." Bethany lamented.
"Wait, seriously. Miss Mason and Mr Tyler?!" Hector responded, he tended to get a lot of news from the Black Widows, who seemed to know everyone's dirty secrets.
"Oh yeah, I wasn't planning on spilling that just yet but needs must," She replied, "Truth be told, I totally ship it."
"Would be a shame then if you've just gone and spoiled it." Hector pointed out.
"Ah fuck, I didn't think of that."
"Language."
"Sorry," Beth apologised, she paused and studied him, "So, what is going on with you and a certain Miss Boston?"
"Nothing." Hector replied, he had learnt not to give anything away when it came to the Black Widows.
"Ah, but you want there to be," Bethany observed, "Anyone with a brain could see that you really like her."
Hector shook his head with amusement, "I think we'd better stop this conversation and you should get on with any work you have."
"Spoilsport." Beth joked.
She reached into her bag and pulled out her chemistry homework that had been set the previous day. She tended to get most of her homework done in the cooler, she found that she could focus better in there.
Not 5 minutes had gone by when Nikki Boston walked past. She glanced in and noticed that Beth was sat there and smirked. Luckily, she knew that Beth's crush on Mr Reid was harmless and the fact that he was the only one to have NEVER had to send her to the cooler was impressive. Beth was excelling in all her classes, despite the behavioural issues. Nikki had also noticed that Beth was a lot more subdued in any classes following after a P.E class.
Nikki opened the door to the cooler and perched herself on the wooden desk at the front.
"How long did it take her this time?" She asked Hector quietly.
"Half an hour." Beth piped up, "New record I think."
Nikki rolled her eyes, the girl had exceptional hearing.
"Do teachers always have bets on their students or am I a special case?"
"More like special needs." Melody said as she wandered into the cooler before explaining, "Food tech, accidentally poured salt into someone else's cake mix."
Beth snorted, "Bull."
"Yeah, Fry didn't believe me either, stuck up cow."
"Language!" Nikki exclaimed, she pointed to a desk far away from Beth, "Sit away from Bethany."
"Whatever, Beth won't misbehave, not with her eye candy here."
Beth just nodded, not even bothering to deny it.
"I should probably start behaving soon, in prep for next year. Don't need my uni applications being messed up." Beth mumbled, "Going to miss my hangout."
"You figured out what course you want to do?" Hector asked. He knew that deep down, Beth was a good kid, very smart and easily bored, hence the misbehaving.
"Forensics." Beth replied, "I like the look of Derby Uni."
"And Keele, Kingston, Northumbria and Lincoln." Melody added.
"Derby is winning though."
"Hey, did you know about Rachel and Max?" Hector asked Nikki.
"I've heard rumours," She pointed to Beth, "But it is just speculation."
"Not from those photographs, there isn't." Melody muttered from her desk.
"What photographs?" Nikki questioned.
"RAX with their tongues down each other's throats." Melody replied, she turned to face Bethany, "What did you do with that photo?"
"Stuck a copy onto their office door." Beth responded.
Melody burst out laughing, "Subtle."
Bethany just shrugged.
"What is RAX?" Nikki asked.
"Rachel, Max, RAX," Beth pointed out, like it was that simple, "Ship name."
Nikki just stared at her confusedly before shaking her head.
Beth smirked and looked up at Nikki, "So, you and Mr Reid, eh?"
"That again? I told you before that nothing is going on." Nikki rolled her eyes, the students really could get too invested in their teachers personal lives.
"Yet." Melody coughed.
"Right, get on with your school work, both of you." Nikki ordered and walked out of the cooler.
These girls were going to drive her insane one day.
