Somehow all that was said last night made her feel a lot lighter. She felt much better about everything now that Peter knew everything and she welcomed his support. After her bath, Peter took her to bed and they just slept together skin to skin and that was something that Carla would forever revel in as she loved feeling his skin against hers around other things as well. She woke up that morning excited as she was putting her little plan into action so Carla went downstairs and had some breakfast, she noticed Peter wasn't up so she rolled her eyes as the doorbell went off; she decided he deserved to have a lie in considering he was dealing with her moods all the time. She walked to the door and was greeted by Daniel and an excitable Bertie who she immediately scooped up into her arms.

"Are you sure he's up to this?" Daniel frets, Carla rolls her eyes as Bertie claps

"More than" she nods in confirmation "It's going to save you on a bunch of nursery fees"

"I guess so"

"And it'll give you a chance to do all your teachery degree stuff"

"That's true" he nods passing her the bag, he pushes the pushchair into the hallway for her "Well have fun"

"We will" she smirks glancing down at Bertie who was on her hip "Say goodbye to daddy"

"Ba-ba" Bertie gurgles waving his little hand, Carla laughs slightly as Daniel walks off, she closes the door and smiles

"Let's go and see Uncle Peter yeah?"

"What?" Peter grumbles from the stairs rubbing the area where his scar was, he yawns "Why is Bertie here?"

"I thought we could babysit" she suggests, he raises his eyebrows "Well you can babysit, I will assist"

"So this was your plan?"

"Yep" she nods, "You said you wanted to do something meaningful so here's your nephew"

"Isn't he meant to be at nursery?" Peter questions pouring himself a brew, Carla rolls her eyes and tilts her head to the side

"Well it would save Daniel on nursery fees if we were to have him a few days" she suggests, Peter nods in agreement "Unless you think it's a bad idea-"

"No not at all" he assures her going to sit down on the armchair and letting out a pain riddled sigh which she catches on to

"Are you in pain?" she questions adjusting Bertie on her hip "Peter?"

"Ok yes it hurts" he rubs his scar, she sighs knowing this was probably down to him moving her "And don't blame yourself"

"You shouldn't have moved me," she says in annoyance scared of harming his recovery "Where does it hurt?"

"My scar" he grits out she sighs walking over to the freezer and pulling out an icepack for him, she passes it to him "Thanks"

"Keep that on it I'll get you some pain killers," she says quietly kissing him on the top of the head, she kisses Bertie on the head as he rests his head on her shoulder "Here"

"That's better thanks love"

"What are we going to do with your Uncle Peter then Bertie?" she questions dramatically sitting down on the sofa and adjusting Bertie in her arms "Well that's our plans ruined isn't it?"

"What plans?" Peter questions feelings slightly upset that she had planned this whole day out

"Well I was thinking about taking him to the park after his morning nap" she shrugs "We don't have to though, he has plenty of toys in his bag. We'll see how you feel baby no pressure"

"Ok" he nods with a sad sigh "I might go back up to bed"

"Are you feeling that rough?" she questions with a sad shake of her head "We could nap now, altogether?"

"It's up to you, I'm just trying to get through the moment. Sorry for being short"

"It's fine baby, I understand completely as you're in pain," she says softly getting up with Bertie on her hip who was just dropping off to sleep again "Let's get you upstairs"

"Thanks," he says quietly padding up the stairs, she follows him as they get into bed, Bertie sandwiched in the middle who lies down "This could be us this time next year"

"Crazy to think that" Carla smiles watching Bertie drop off to sleep, she sighs "Are you sure you're ok baby?"

"It's just a sharp pain," he says quietly, she pouts her lips "It'll pass I'm sure of it"

"We make a deal though, no more lifting me ok?"

"Deal" he relents, she nods with a small smile "You weren't sick again today were you?"

"No that stuff you got from the pharmacy really helps" she flashes him a smile, he reaches over to brush the back of his fingers against her cheekbones "You can rest if you want, I don't mind having this little monkey all day"

"No it's fine, we can just have a joint lazy day" he smiles, she nods slowly lifting Bertie up and cradling him in her arms as he sleeps so she could shuffle over to Peter "He's a good kid isn't he?"

"Yeah, well with Daniel and Sinead as his parents it's not hard to be that angelic is it? Whereas our one will probably a devil"

"Yeah especially if it's as annoying as you" Peter nudges her in the side, she gasps and glares at him before punching him in the arm "Oi!"

"Serves you right" she rolls her eyes before lifting Bertie up, Peter takes him "I've got him in case you drop him"

"I won't drop him" Peter rolls his eyes letting Bertie sleep across his chest, he kisses his nephew on the head

"You're making me feel broody" she groans wiping her eyes "God I want this so much"

"And we will have it" he confirms, she takes his hand and squeezes it "This time next year we'll be having cosy Sunday mornings cuddling our little one and holding them close, watching them grow, it'll be perfect and it will happen"

"I hope so" she whispers looking at Bertie as she rests her head on Peter's shoulder "Is your scar ok?"

"Yeah it's feeling a bit better now" he nods with a small smile as they watch Bertie sleep "Did Daniel bring him food?"

"Yeah, there's stuff in his bag" Carla confirms with a small smile, she just watches as Bertie sleeps peacefully on Peter's body "I was thinking if you feel up to it, I know yesterday I said I wanted a lazy day and I was a bit unsure with taking him out considering everything with my sickness but I was wondering if you wanted to go for a walk down by the canal and feed the ducks with him?"

"Yeah alright" he nods with a smile, Carla grins at him "I'd like to do that but don't you need to work"

"How about I get some invoices done now then we can go out later?"

"Sounds perfect"

Peter and Bertie napped together whilst Carla worked from the bedroom with her laptop on her lap. She had a tub of ice cream with her that she was eating between every invoice she completed and every other little task she did. Bertie eventually woke before Peter so Carla picked him up and scrunched her nose up realising he needed changing so she padded downstairs to pick up Berties changing bag and then went upstairs again into the ensuite to change him. Peter woke hearing complaints from the bathroom so he got up and quietly made his way over to the bathroom door and leaned against it watching Carla change her nephew who was squealing animatedly.

"Stay still" Carla scolds Bertie who just giggles at her "Why are babies so goddamn fidgety?"

"Here," Peter says, Carla visibly jumps as Peter bends down on the floor and helps Carla change Bertie who just attempts to crawl away

"You see!" she exclaims, Peter hums slightly before rummaging through Berties changing bag and pulling out a toy

"Right you lay him down I will distract him," Peter says, Carla nods slowly rolling her eyes and grabbing Bertie and forcing him to lie down, Peter distracts Bertie with a toy whilst Carla changes him as fast as she could

"There" she breathes out, Peter laughs slightly "God how will we cope?"

"We're not used to it sweetheart, we will get used to it and find easier ways of dealing with it," he says quietly getting up whilst Carla lifts Bertie onto her hip "We should get him some lunch"

"Yeah poor mite is probably starving"

"Let's go downstairs Bertie" Peter coos as they both head downstairs "Ah we don't have a highchair"

"We'll use the kitchen counter, I'll hold him and you feed him," Carla says, Peter grins and nods grabbing Bertie's stuff from his bag "Then we can go and feed the duckies"

"Oh Daniel put the reins in if he wants to walk"

"Reins?" Carla splutters, Peter laughs slightly pulling them out along with a jar of baby food "That looks disgusting"

"Well he doesn't think that" Peter rolls his eyes going to prepare the food whilst Carla dealt with a grumpy Bertie who was pointing towards the food

"I know you're hungry Bertie, I know" Carla whispers rolling her eyes as Peter grabs Bertie's spoon and begins to feed him "If you even think about getting this all over me kid you will have hell to pay"

"I don't think you understand how messy babies are when they get to this stage love" he chuckles, she bites her lip "But no doubt ours will be an angel"

"Really? A mixture between a psychotic mother and a father riddled with an addiction problem is the definition of angelic?"

"Someone's got their sarcasm back haven't they Bertie?" Peter questions with a cheeky grin, Bertie just gurgles

"Oh leave off" Carla drones watching Bertie stuff his hands into the bowl of baby food "No! Why did you leave it within arms reach!"

"Just grab a baby wipe" he rolls his eyes as Carla picks up the pack of baby wipes to wipe Bertie's food covered hands

"Don't leave it there next time" she groans as Peter pushes the spoon into Bertie's mouth but he doesn't open it "He's full"

"No he's not" Peter scoffs pushing the spoon again into Bertie's mouth but Bertie just whacks it and the baby food goes all over Peter

"Oh my god" Carla gasps trying to suppress her laughter, Bertie giggles in response "I shouldn't laugh"

"It's not funny!" Peter exclaims before taking his top off, Carla licks her lips suggestively causing him to roll his eyes "The baby's around"

"Doesn't stop me thinking" she admires his body and hums watching him head over to the stairs, he bites her lip and grabs some more baby wipes to wipe Berties face "All clean sweetheart"

"Ma!" Bertie squeals as Carla lifts him onto her hip, she heads over to the patio door and opens it before placing Bertie down on the floor, he walks onto the grass

"Hey" Peter whispers putting an arm around her shoulders, she rests her head on his shoulder "Are you ok?"

"Will we cope with having one of our own?" she questions, he sighs knowing she was a little bit stressed out with Bertie

"Of course we will" he assures her wrapping his arms around her body from behind and resting them on her tummy "It's a learning process baby, we learn as we go"

"Do you think the baby will be happy here though?" she questions looking at Bertie who was sitting on the grass and grinning up at them

"I think they will be ecstatic" he whispers kissing her on the back of the head "It'll be fine, I know it will"

"I'm going to go and put something a bit more substantial on as I feel a little bloated"

"Yeah you seem it as well" he rubs her tummy for her, he kisses her again on the back of the head "It means the baby's growing"

"Yeah" she nods placing her hand over his before turning around in his arms "I love you"

"I love you too" he whispers pecking her on the lips, she hugs him before heading into the house, Peter goes to sit on the lawn with Bertie to entertain him whilst Carla got ready for the afternoon...

They took the walk to the canal picking up a bag of duck food from the kiosk before taking the longish walk down the canal. Carla was pushing Bertie who was squealing at all the ducks, Peter was actively watching her interact with Bertie seeing if he could say the animals such as ducks, people walking dogs and she kept pointing to each one and saying 'dog' in an attempt to get Bertie to repeat them. Peter was in charge of the duck feed but if he was honest he was just enjoying Carla interacting with Bertie as it gave him a sense of what their future could be like. She paused walking at this piece of greenery where the land sloped down into the water of the canal, probably there for dogs if they wanted to swim in the water.

"Here?" he questions, Carla nods with a cheeky grin lifting Bertie onto her hip "I'll attach those reins"

"Cheers" she adjusts Bertie in her arms so Peter could put the reins on him, she places him down on the ground causing him to pull Carla towards the water "Bertie, look!"

"Here mate," Peter says passing him a handful of duck feed, Bertie frowns examining the food "Look"

"Peter will show you" Carla bends down and holds Bertie back noticing he was very interested in the water, she watches Peter grab some duck feed and chuck it into the water for the awaiting ducks

"There, you try," Peter says as Bertie giggles at him before attempting to throw the feed into the water "Good lad"

"Yay good job Bertie!" Carla says holding his body so he didnt run off into the water, Peter offers Bertie the bag of suck feed and he throws more into the water "Look there a swan" she points beaming down at her nephew

"'wan!" Bertie grins, Carla chuckles slightly at his mumblings, she kisses him on the top of the head "Duck!"

"Well done!" Carla gasps as Bertie giggles again chucking more duck feed into the water, Peter helps him "Give me some"

"Are you sure? I wouldn't want it to get under your nails" he teases, she rolls her eyes picking up a handful of duck feed and chucking it in the water "I'm shocked Bertie, she actually wanted to ruin her manicure for you mate"

"Uncle Peter will be getting a slap in a minute if he doesn't pipe down"

"I might have to tell Daniel you've been inflicting violence around his son"

"You're so annoying" she drones, he laughs slightly "But I love you for it"

"Hmm I love you too" he smirks, she just rolls her eyes and stands up "Looks like we've finished this bag mate. Why don't we go to the park then we can push you on the swings?"

"Oh, that sounds good!" Carla beams taking hold of the reins "You can push the buggy"

"I see how it is"

"It's not that baby I just don't want him tugging on your arm and it hurting your scar even more than it hurts," she says with a small smile, he leans in to peck her on the lips "Let's go, Bertie"

"It's an insight isn't it?" Peter says taking in the surroundings around him as they begin the walk to the play park

"Yeah a good one" she nods as Bertie pulls on the reins "Hey slow down little man"

"He's really good with his walking" Peter smirks, Carla laughs slightly and nods "You see Bertie's a prime example isn't he?"

"Of what?"

"Well Sinead, she had a C-section at the week of viability didnt she and look at Bertie, he's strong, healthy and he's doing well. I think that's a good thing to take away from this isn't if the worse happens and our little one is born before full-term"

"Yeah I guess you're right, I just want to take all the suitable measures to make sure they stay nestled up in my womb for the longest they can"

"And you will and if that involves bed rest, giving you massages and me doing things around the house I will be your man"

"Yeah" she nods with a small smile "I know you will do your bit, this is completely different from last time isn't it?"

"Yeah it is and I will continue to do all I can for you both"

"I don't doubt you for a second," she says pushing the gate to the park open and taking Bertie over to the swing, she lifts him up and places him in it "Are you ready little monkey?"

"Yes!" Bertie beams up at her, Carla smirks and begins to push him, Peter watches from the bench where he was sitting at knowing that whatever happened with this pregnancy Carla would be the best mother ever...

They took Bertie back to Daniel and this allowed Carla and Peter to spend some more time together. They did enjoy having Bertie with them for the day though and Carla even suggested on the way home that Peter took some of the strain off Daniel and have Bertie at least a couple of times a week and it left Peter thoughtful for the future of his recovery. Carla said for him to think about it and consider it after his recovery period was over and Peter agreed with her on the terms of him thinking about it. They had dinner and watched another box set together before heading up to bed for the night as they were both very tired with the day's events, he watched Carla scrub her makeup off with a face wipe in the mirror that was in their bedroom before she climbed into bed after brushing her teeth.

"Come here," he says pulling her onto his body and kissing her "Today was good wasnt it?"

"Yeah it was" she rests her head on his chest, he rubs her back for her as she hums "It's made me feel a bit more relaxed as well"

"Relaxed how?"

"Well being around Bertie has got rid of some of those doubts I think and I can really see this working"

"Yeah and so you should" Peter whispers, she laughs slightly "He was great today and I think you're right after my recovery I'll help Daniel out a bit and have him a couple of days a week"

"Hmm, you'd be really helping him out" Carla whispers closing her eyes and poking him on the cheek "How's your scar?"

"It's less painful now, I must have overdone it as you said"

"So you're admitting I'm right?"

"Ok yes but don't get used to that because it will become such an ego boost the gushing will be unstoppable"

"You love it really" she smirks kissing him, she deepens the kiss and Peter turns his body around and returns the kiss with even more passion she moans into it "Where's this going?"

"I think you know where this is going"

"Are you sure you're up to it?"

"Baby seeing you saunter around with Bertie makes you so attractive and makes me love you even more to the point I don't think it's possible for me to love you as much as I do so yes, I'm up for it"

"Hmm good" she kisses him throwing her arms around his neck "Tell me if your scar hurts then we'll stop"

"You'll be the first to know don't worry" he smirks pecking her on the lips repetitively, she just looks into his eyes as he kisses her again "You're going to be the best mummy to our little one"

"We'll see" she shrugs kissing him back "But there's already something I know from experience and thats you will be the best daddy"

"We'll be fine, I know we will"

"Anyway enough of all this soppy stuff, show me some action baby"

The next day Carla woke up and she felt rough again, so much for her getting over this sickness. She decided she would just sit out in the garden with a blanket in the morning sun. Peter woke and found that his wife wasn't there, he checked the bathroom but nothing before heading downstairs and seeing that she wasn't there, he looked outside and saw her lounging out on one of the sunlounger's, he sighed and went out to check on her. He saw she was fast asleep so he went back inside not wanting to disturb her, instead, he made her a smoothie so she could keep her energy up.

"Hey," he says softly as she opens her eyes and rubs them tiredly, "Here"

"Thanks," she says quietly drinking some of the smoothie "I don't feel well again"

"It might just be a blip" Peter suggests, Carla sighs and nods before closing her eyes and pulling the blanket with her "Do you want me to get anything?"

"No" she shakes her head, he rubs her back gently and kisses her on the back of the head "I feel vile, the thought of eating makes me want to heave"

"Oh love," he says quietly as she shifts over slightly allowing him to lie with her on the sunlounger, she takes his hand and places it on her tummy allowing him to rub it gently "Mummy needs belly rubs"

"Don't" she whines before giggling "That makes it more real"

"Well it is real" he laughs slightly kissing her on the back of the head, she smiles to herself "So what are we going to do with you then?"

"I'm happy here right now"

"Were you sick?" he questions gently knowing she had a tendency to bite his head off

"No but I feel like I could be any minute now" she gasps before leaning over the sunlounger, Peter pulls her hair back as she was sick "Not the patio!"

"It's ok don't stress," he says quietly, she just cries and he rolls his eyes at her dramatics "Carla, baby, it's fine I promise you"

"But the patio" she cries into his chest, he rolls his eyes and gets up to grab the hose, he turns it on and goes to clean up the patio "It's the end of the world"

"No, it's not," he says trying not to laugh as he finishes cleaning the patio up "You see its as good as new"

"Oh" she wipes her eyes "Sorry"

"It's an ok sweetheart" he gets back on the sunlounger with her and rubs her tummy again "You don't need to apologise. This little one has a lot to answer for don't they?"

"Soon we'll see them for the first time," she says quietly, he kisses her on the back of the head "I didn't get any sleep last night"

"I could tell you were tossing and turning"

"Pregnancy makes me sleep so lightly, I had that before but I put it down to being worried about you but maybe it was just a pregnancy thing"

"We'll figure out ways to help your symptoms"

"I hope so because I am so tired but I just can't sleep and when I sleep it doesn't feel like I'm sleeping even though I feel energised I don't know anymore"

"Is there anything I can do?"

"No it's fine, it's just one of those things"

"Maybe we should try some white noise with you?" he suggests, she sighs and nods before groaning and curling up in a ball further "Sick?"

"Yeah" she nods as Peter jumps up to grab a bucket and place it down beside her so he didnt have to deal with her crying about ruining the patio "Thanks"

"No problem," he says quietly lying beside her once more "It was good having Bertie yesterday wasn't it?"

"Yeah perfect, I love that baby so much, he's easy-going"

"Ours might be"

"Emphasis on the might. Peter they're going to be crazy with our genes mixing, that kid is going to be a nightmare"

"If its a girl it'll be a diva like you"

"I'm not a diva" she scoffs linking her fingers through his as his hand rests on her tummy

"Yeah I'm sure everyone would agree with that statement baby" he chuckles, she pouts her lips and laughs slightly "And if its a boy, they will probably be hyper"

"You're playing football with them"

"Oi this is joint parenting, don't think you're getting out of it that easy" he pokes her in the back of the head causing her to giggle "And if its a little girl you can take her shopping, she'll be the best-dressed kid in town with your fashion sense"

"Gosh do you reckon I'll come across as pretentious to people?" she frets, Peter sighs knowing she would probably want the baby to have the best clothes boy or girl

"Carla people won't care, they'll be more interested in the baby" he assures her, she lets out a sigh "You don't need to worry about what people say, I'll be there to defend the decisions we both make, I won't let the haters bring you down"

"I do worry though about what people think of me when they see me walking around with a child"

"How do you think they will see you then?"

"I don't know...different, weaker. I've already been worn down since I last had a baby I just don't know how I would deal with people viewing me as a mother knowing that reputation I already have"

"The way I look at it baby is that as soon as that baby is placed in your arms you will feel so much love Carla for that child that you probably won't care about what people think of you"

"What if I get ill?"

"We've been through this sweetheart" he sighs knowing she was starting to get very insecure all of a sudden again but he would be there to reassure her "I will help you ok? I'll make sure you and the baby are safe and well then we'll get you the help you need"

"Peter?"

"Yeah?"

"If I do get ill-"

"You don't know if you will-"

"Please listen" she sighs turning around to look at him in the eyes "I just want to tell you what I want"

"Ok" he sighs knowing she would want to be in control of her own treatment this time if she could considering last time it happened so out of the blue

"I want to be here and be on some sort of care plan or something I don't want to be in a unit again if I don't have to but if it's safer for me to do that then I want to be in one close to home not far away so I can see my family and friends and see the baby"

"I can do that" Peter smiles, she nods with a small smile "I'll remember that and if it does happen then I will try and implement that for you"

"Thank you," she says quietly leaning up to kiss him, she hums before looking apologetic "I probably taste like vomit"

"Yeah you did" he nods grimacing slightly, she laughs and rests her head on his chest "Are you feeling a little better?"

"Yeah I am, sorry for not drinking the smoothie I just really don't want to be sick right now" she whispers, he massages her scalp gently

"It's alright I understand but we do need to get some food down you," he says in an attempt to compromise "Anything you want I will go and get for you as a compromise this time"

"Hmm" she hums slightly thinking about it for a bit "I wouldn't mind a kebab again"

"Well the kebab shop doesn't open yet"

"Later then," she says quietly, he laughs slightly at the idea of what she wanted for breakfast "Peter?"

"Yeah?"

"What did you predict?"

"Alien"

"Not funny" she pokes him on the nose, he laughs into the top of her head

"You really think I'm going to tell you?"

"No" she shakes her head "It was worth a try though"

"Yeah well stop trying" he laughs, she pouts her lips "I'll tell you what would be worth a try"

"What?"

"You trying to get some decent sleep," he says into her head, she sighs and nods knowing he was right "Let's get you back up to bed and I will do your invoices for you again"

"Thank you" she smiles letting him lead her into the house and up the stairs into the bedroom, she gets into bed and so does Peter "Stay with me until I'm asleep"

"Of course," he says quietly holding her close knowing that helped her to sleep better as she felt safe "You go to sleep and then I'll go and get your kebab later"

"Thanks" she kisses his hand as she snuggles into his body and the pillows beneath her head, he watches as she drifts off into a peaceful sleep, well as peaceful as it could get...

Before Carla woke Peter went out to get her kebab and then returned to wake her with it. She immediately perked up and greedily devoured the thing so much so that Peter thought she would be sick and not because of pregnancy sickness but because of the speed she ate the thing. He then witnessed her being in a food coma for the rest of the day lounging out on the sofa sleeping even more because she had stuffed the kebab into her body at a speed that wasn't really deemed as acceptable. She woke and raided the cupboards looking for something else to eat, Carla bit her lip and pulled out a saucepan and some pasta before cooking it.

"You seriously can't be hungry?" he questions from the dining room table, she shrugs and bites her lip watching her pasta "Don't burn it"

"I wouldn't do that"

"I wouldn't be so sure" he rolls his eyes before laughing, she picks up a piece of pasta and chucks it at him "Oi!"

"You deserved that"

"I'm sorry baby but you can't even put a pizza in the oven properly"

"I can cook pasta"

"Sure" he looks at the pasta that was boiling over the rim of the saucepan "And that's what you get for putting it on high"

"Shut up" she snipes draining the pasta and putting it in a bowl, she grates cheese all over it before putting it in the microwave to melt it a bit before taking it out and eating it "Look I can cook pasta"

"Give us some then," he says convinced she was just pretending to like it, he grabs a fork and picks up a piece and chews it for longer than intended "Overcooked"

"It's fine" she chews her pasta overdramatically

"Do you want me to cook some?"

"No..."

"Carla I don't mind"

"Ugh fine" she sighs in response placing her bowl on the counter "I will never be able to cook will I?"

"You just need practice," he says quietly, she huffs and sits at her laptop and examining the invoices "Are they ok?"

"Perfect" she smiles at him examining and analysing the invoices "I'll process these then I can stop receiving hate emails from Sarah"

"Yeah, well as long as it helps keep her off your back then I will happily continue to do them for ya baby"

"Hmm I should pay you my wage" she rolls her eyes before groaning at her emails "Like this here, why can't she have a meeting with flamin' Lucas why do I have to do it?"

"Because you have more experience than her"

"Yes well she needs to learn if she's going to be Nick's right-hand woman or whatever and to be honest I don't want to be babysitting her ready to swoop in and rectify the mistakes she makes, I have enough babying to think about in the next few months"

"Maybe if you help her she might be less hostile towards you"

"Yeah and pigs might fly" Carla drones watching Peter place the pasta down in front of her "Thanks baby"

"I don't mind you going to meetings with Lucas"

"I don't want to that's the thing" she sighs "As much as it started off nice reminiscing about my time in Devon he turned too obsessed with me and there's only one man who can be obsessed with me and that's you baby"

"Oh thank you love I will cherish that forever"

"So you should" she laughs slightly going to sit on the sofa with him "How's your scar today?"

"Much better thank you" he pecks her on the side of the head "Are you enjoying that?"

"Very much"

"I don't understand how you can eat so much"

"Me neither I guess the baby wants it and I will quite happily give it to the baby if it helps them"

"You see and that's what makes you a good mum already"

"We'll see, baby, we'll see"

"We will indeed"

As the day went on Carla napped through the entire afternoon causing Peter to laugh. Eventually, he started on dinner and then they sat down and ate it feeding each other causing them both to giggle every time they missed the fork entering each other's mouths. They watched a movie to change things up from their boxset then went up to bed because Carla was tired as usual. He held her in bed and he noticed she was kind of anxious so he sang to her knowing that she probably was thinking a lot about things to do with the pregnancy. He realised how hard this would be for her and the way he would have to keep her mind occupied all the time to stop these doubts from entering her head.

"Why on earth are you singing that?" she questions incredulously opening her eyes, he blushes thinking she fell asleep

"What?"

"You're so funny"

"I thought you listened to the charts"

"Peter" she giggles "When have you listened to the charts?"

"In the cab office with Steve and Tim"

"Right" she rolls her eyes "You could at least sing something I know"

"Lana Del Rey?"

"No that'll make me sad"

"Why?"

"Because memories of us and I don't want to be all soppy and emotional"

"Is there anything you want me to sing to you?"

"Depends if I want my ears to bleed"

"I won't bother then" he laughs slightly bending down to kiss her on the head "Are you ok?"

"Yeah, it's just I need to keep my mind occupied"

"I get that and I could tell," he says quietly kissing her again on the head "We should try and sleep, baby"

"We should but I could think of something better we could do"

"Carla" he rolls his eyes "You're exhausted to I'm saying no"

"Fine" she grins "Last night satisfied me enough-"

"And so it should have" he pokes her on the head "You did fall asleep on me"

"Yeah well you exhausted me, I need my rest"

"All the more reason to sleep" he turns over to turn the light off, she turns over onto her other side causing Carla to drape his arm over her middle and place his hand on her tummy "Goodnight baby"

"Night Peter, I love you"

"Love you too" he whispers kissing her one last time on the head before they drift off into a peaceful slumber holding each other close...
