A/N: New chapter and a new (temporary?) title after all this time.

Anyways, time for more sad.

Tears had come and gone multiple time through out the day. The news of his brother still had him shaken up. And he couldn't help but wonder why no one mentioned it before the photo album. Did they just assumed he remember? Or did they not know how to bring it up? It was a rough subject after all.

Shizuo wiped his face and closed the photo album. It had been resting on his lap, open to a page with his brother seen smiling with his cat. He had remembered the feline. What was it's name again? It was a long and strange name for a cat. Maru for short, wasn't it? He was curious what happened it. Did he still have it at the time of the accident that killed him? He'd have to remember to ask them later.

A soft knock on the door brought him out of his thoughts. "Shizuo?" came Celty's voice. "I brought you something to drink." She sat next to him and handed him some tea. "It's hot." Shizuo nodded as he took it from her and drank from it. Afterwards he sat it on the ground in front of him and she continued. "How are you feeling? Do you want to talk about it?"

Shizuo sighed. "Kasuka had so much to live for. If one of us had to die, it should have been me."

"Don't say that, Shizuo."

"Why'd he have to die?" He sobbed, curling his knees into his chest and bowing his head, which he held onto with his nails digging into the back of. "Wasn't I there for him? Couldn't I have done anything? Why did I survive when he couldn't!?"

"Shizuo..." she replied softly, unsure what to say to ease his survivor's guilt. Celty scooted closer and put her arm around, holding him. "I know, it's not fair for him to die so young, but that doesn't mean your life isn't worth living. People love and care about you just as much as you do him. So many people. Shinra. Me. Kyohei. Izaya. His sisters."

Shizuo sniffed and wiped his eyes. "Sorry..."

Celty leaned her head into his shoulder, comfortingly. "We're your friends, Shizuo. We'll be here for you as long as you need, alright?"

He let out a big sigh then looked at her. "Thanks. And, sorry. Again."

She shook her head. "You don't need to feel sorry for anything. I understand. It's a lot to go through. Going through a huge loss is hard enough even when you only have to do it once."

He nodded and looked down and was quiet for a moment. Then he spoke up. "Should I talk to him?"

"Him?"

"Izaya."

"Of course. But, are you ready? Shinra told me what happened between you two when you woke up."

"Yeah. Besides Kasuka, Izaya's going to be the toughest to get around. The sooner I start the better, right?" Especially if they were really as close as the others claimed. What would friendship with him be like anyways? Shinra And Celty have been mostly the same as he could remember him. But if he was anything like the bastard from his dream then he wanted nothing to do with him. Guess he'll find out soon.

"True, though you shouldn't force yourself either. But if you sure, I'll have Shinra call him and ask him to come over. Maybe for tomorrow. Sound good?"

"Yeah."
