Note: It's really boring so far. I mean, the pandemic still hasn't cleared up, and we still have to wear masks in public. Anyway, let's just ignore reality and continue on with the story. Before doing so, I want to say something to two reviewers.

Now then, welcome to chapter six!

Chapter 6: Training Day

A few days after the Mighty Loonatics fought Dark Angel, headlines came out about how the team was taking the place of the original Loonatics. The news said that some were happy that new heroes were on Acmetropolis, while others were outraged. To the protestors of the new team, they could not replace the Loonatics they know and love. As for the new recruits themselves, they were just relaxing at HQ. There were no threats that day, so they were in the clear. That was until they heard a loud noise.

BANG!

Frightened by the loudness, the Mighty Loonatics stopped what they were doing and went to see where it was coming from. To their surprise, Duck was destroying training drones left and right.

"I see that the new recruits have come to see this action hero during his workout!" Duck said, his arrogance shining through his voice.

"We just came to see where the noise was coming from, dumbass." John snorted at the waterfowl.

"There's no need to talk down to him, John." Diane said.

"Whatever." The stag said as he crossed his arms.

"Are you going to train here all day?" Jack asked.

"Well, where else could we do training day?" Duck asked.

"I know a place where we could train." Simon said. "I'll take you guys to it."

As soon as Duck finished up with his training, he followed the Mighty Loonatics to a small building. Inside the building was a grizzly bear who was in front of several people. The people in question were his students, given how he was talking to him. The Mighty Loonatics entered the building, with the bear and his students looking at them.

"Hi everyone." Simon greeted.

"You haven't changed a bit, have you?" The bear looked at him.

"Not much, Mr. Toriyama." The greyhound stated.

"I see you have brought some friends." Mr. Toriyama said. "Allow me to introduce myself. I am Kenji Toriyama, the owner of this gym, but you can call me either Kenji or Mr. Toriyama."

"We'll just call you Kenji." Duck stated. "As for me, I'm Danger Duck!"

"Yes, I've heard of you." Kenji said as he rolled his eyes.

"Jack Nova." Jack introduced himself.

"Diane McAllister." Diane bowed towards Kenji.

"Lori Clark." Lori introduced herself.

"John Feliciano." John crossed his arms, facing away from the others.

"Klara Nova," Klara stated, "I'm Jack's younger sister."

"And I'm Duck's older sister, Teagan Duck." Teagan bowed.

"Nice to meet you all." Kenji said. "But, my question is this: why are you all here?"

"We'd like to do some training here today." Diane said.

"Why is that?" The bear asked.

"Because it might be fun." Jack answered.

"Also, we can't always use our powers in a fight." Lori said.

"Very well then," the teacher said, "let's begin your training."

Throughout the day, the Mighty Loonatics trained in the gym. They started out by using weight-lifting machines, which they found out their limits on. The new recruits then moved on to pounding on punching bags. However, John was the only one who wasn't punching on one of the bags. In fact, he was standing by the wall, looking down with silent anger.

"Should we go talk to him?" Jack asked.

"I think that we should just leave him alone, guys." Simon said as he moved on to punching the bag he was at.

While the team pounded on their punching bags, Kenji walked up to Teagan.

"You know," he spoke, "I actually pounded on that bag the first time I came here. Of course, that was when I was seven, long before I became a teacher here."

"Interesting." Teagan said.

"Would you like to go get a drink sometime?" The bear asked.

"Thanks for the offer, but I'm not interested." The duck said as she continued punching the bag she was at.

"Why not?" The larger male asked.

"I'm just not attracted to men, that's why." The smaller female stated. "I've also been surrounded by tough people during my line of work, so it's turned me off of getting in a relationship."

"Oh, I see. I'm sorry for bothering you."

"No, you're fine. If you want my advice, here it is: find someone who will reciprocate your feelings."

Back to the others, Duck, Jack, and Simon had stopped training with their punching bags.

"I forgot to mention," Simon said, "Kenji is the kind of guy who tries to get with one of his female pupils."

"Too bad my sister's not his type." Duck stated.

"Yet she's not interested in guys." Jack noted.

"And I'm okay with it." The waterfowl said. "After all, Tech and Rev are a couple."

"They are?" Lori joined the conversation.

"Yeah, those two have been getting intimate for quite some time." The mallard stated.

"Can you tell us about it?" Simon asked.

"I'd like to, but we have to leave here. Besides, it's getting late." The avian stated.

Meanwhile, on planet Blanc, Tech and Rev were laying in bed with each other.

"Well, the week is almost up." Tech said as he looked at the calendar.

"So-that-means-that-Duck-has-to-come-back-here-when-the-weekend-arrives?" Rev surmised.

"Yeah, and Zadavia's going to have us decide on who watches after the new recruits next." The coyote added.

"Can-I-go-next?" The roadrunner asked.

"Actually, I was going to go next."

"Can-I-go-with-you-Tech? I-mean-I-want-to-hang-out-with-the-new-recruits-too. I-might-even-teach-them-some-new-stuff."

"We'll have to talk to Zadavia about it."

"Let's-do-it-tomorrow-I'm-so-tired."

Tech lie back down on the bed with Rev resting his head on his shoulder. The two then fell asleep, with the roadrunner kissing the coyote on the cheek.

Note: Yeah, I'm a proud Tech x Rev shipper. I just can't help but show them as an adorable couple. So yeah, this chapter was pretty basic, but there will be more action in the future.
