An Ultimate Betrayal-Ch 6
It was early the next morning when Derek walked through Penelopes apartment door, he toed off his shoes and made his way quietly toward the beaded curtain that led to her bedroom.
He smiled as he stripped down to his underwear and slid in bed behind her, he leaned in and inhaled her scent. He sighed happily and whispered, "oh how I've missed you sweetness, it seems like forever since I've held you in my arms".
Derek kissed the side of her neck and said, "I love you baby girl, I always have and I always will", he then cuddled closer to her and wrapped his arms around her and closed his eyes and soon joined her in sleep.
The next morning when he woke up he was alone, since they had gotten home so late or early depending on how you looked at it, Hotch told them they could come in later and he sent Penelope a text letting her know.
She however got a call and had to go in early to help B team with searches for the case they were working. She kissed him gently on the lips and whispered, "I love you handsome" before heading out to work.
After waking up several hours to an empty bed Derek grabbed his cell phone to see if things were safe for him to go back home. He loved staying with Penelope but he needed to go back home, how knows maybe he can convince her to move in with him.
As his call ended he smiled because he had been given the all clear to move back in, so the next call he made was to his mom. They talked for several minutes, she was happy that his house was safe again but sad because that meant that he would be leaving his baby girl all alone.
Derek smiled and said, "don't worry momma I'm gonna talk to baby girl today and see if she wants to move in with me for a while, it's not safe for her to be all alone" and his mom agreed totally with is observation.
A few minutes later he was walking out of the coffee shop that him and the rest of the team always used when he bumped into somebody, literally. It was a good thing that the lids were on the two coffees in his hand or both him and the woman he bumped into would have been scalded.
He looked up at her and said, "are you alright, I didn't burn you did I"?, she grinned up at him and said, "no, I'm fine, thank you for asking". Derek started to walk away but said, "good I'm glad you're not hurt".
She touched him on the arm and said, "my name is Shelby", Derek said, "Derek, my name is Derek", the beautiful woman smiled as they stood there talking. Derek said, "I'm glad that you're alright Shelby but I'm late for work".
As he started walking away she smiled and leaned in and kissed him on the cheek and said, "thank you for worrying about me". Derek said, "worrying about you I wasn't wor" and she silenced him with a kiss.
What he didn't know was that Peter and Zach were taking picture after picture of their interlude, they were going to continue with the next part of their plan to separate Derek and Penelope, permanently.
Penelope was just getting the results back on her searches when her cell beeped letting her know that she had a message. She opened the message and saw the heading, "DO YOU STILL THINK YOU CAN TRUST HIM", following the message was several pictures of Derek with a beautiful woman.
In a couple of pictures they were just smiling and talking and in one she was kissing him on the cheek. The picture that really bothered her was the last one, the one where Derek and said woman were kissing.
She felt her heart breaking, how could he, is he cheating on her, doesn't he love her anymore"?, she was pulled from her thoughts by a knock on the door. She said, "come in" and the door opened to reveal Derek standing there with two cups of coffee in his hands.
He walked over and handed her a cup of coffee and said, "here you go sweetness, sorry that I missed you this morning". Penelope took the coffee and said, "thank you for this" as she took a sip.
Derek could tell that something was bothering her but knew that now wasn't the time to ask so he said, "I'll go and let you get back to work, can we talk later"?, she said, "yeah sure" and watched as he leaned down and kissed her on the top of the head before walking out of her office.
As she heard the door shut she finally allowed the tears to slid down her cheeks
