As Naruto sat down to meditate in front of the waterfall, he was suddenly hit with a wave of anger and hatred that he didn't even know he had. He opened his eyes and was face to face with himself, but the difference was the other Naruto had red eyes and was basically oozing with hatred.
"I'm guessing you're my hatred?" Naruto asked
"I am. Why protect a village that treats us like outcasts? The stares, the mob beatings and even the torture. Why protect them? It would be so much easier to kill them." Evil Naruto said
"The leaf village is my home. I'll always protect it. I have people that care about me there." Naruto said
"LIES! THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU. THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR THEM!" Evil Naruto yelled
"You're wrong. Granny Tsunade and Ino care about me. Anko, Kurenai, Shizune and more care about me." Naruto said
"Then why did you grow up alone? Tsunade abandoned you, Kurenai and Anko left you on the streets and Ino only became interested in you after you defeated Gaara. None of them care about you! They don't care about us!" Evil Naruto said
"I see. So that's what you're after." Naruto said
"What do you mean?" Evil Naruto asked
"You want to be acknowledged. You're angry because of how I was treated growing up and you just want people to see you as a human and not the beast we contain." Naruto said
"It was always so hard and painful. I'm the only one who will ever understand you! You can't trust any of the villagers. You can't even trust Tsunade and Ino! They'll turn their backs on you the moment you drop your guard!" Evil Naruto said
"Maybe, but the villagers are important. However, I need to trust somebody first. I need to come to terms with who I am. I want to thank you for getting me this far in life. I guess my anger and hatred towards the villagers fueled my desire to become strong and become hokage. It pushed me to get as strong as I am now, but I think it's time I let go of my anger. Stop running from it and instead I need to accept it." Naruto said
"Why? After everything that village put us through. Why would you protect them?" Evil Naruto asked
"Because I learned from granny Tsunade and Ino. When Pervy-Sage and Asuma died, they didn't let themselves get pulled down by their deaths and they have pride in themselves. They didn't let their deaths stand in their way." Naruto said
"Do you think that I'm just something in your way?! What exactly was I to you?!" Evil Naruto asked
"I became strong because you existed. It's thanks to you that I got to where I am today. You just need to become me. You are me after all. Thank you for everything you've done, but it's alright now." Naruto said and then the evil Naruto started to disappear
Mindscape
"Hey, nine tails. No evil glare this time?" Naruto asked
"Naruto. What are you up to?" The nine tails asked
"So, what's going on with you?" Naruto asked
"Where's the real you? I don't sense him anymore." The nine tails asked
"I'm right here. Right in front of you. I'm not here to bicker. I'm here with a proposition." Naruto said
"What would that be?" The nine tails asked
"We work together. We've come to an agreement before when we fought Orochimaru and now I'm hoping to reach another agreement, but this time a bit more permanent." Naruto said
"Why would you want that? I'm a being filled with hatred." The nine tails said
"I think the hatred comes from you being misunderstood. Nobody knows anything about the tailed beasts so they quickly labeled you all as mindless beasts that were only good for destruction. I was labeled the same way in my village and I still am by most of the people that live there." Naruto said
"You are the first human to try and work together with me. I have been keeping a close eye on you during your training and I'm impressed. You had pretty much zero skills after your training trip with the pervert and in a few months of being back, you've nearly surpassed all of your teachers. I will agree to this deal as you have proven yourself worthy enough for my cooperation. However, you must separate me from my chakra." The nine tails said
"Sounds easy." Naruto said and unlocked the cage
"Easier said than done." The nine tails said
"So, what? Am I supposed to fight you now?" Naruto asked
"Since you brought it up. Yes, you do." The nine tails said
"Wait. If we're gonna be partners then we shouldn't fight!" Naruto said and ducked out of the way from a tail
"Then stand there and take a beating!" The nine tails said and Naruto decided to fight
Ice style: Ice dragon jutsu
Naruto's jutsu crashed into the nine tails and then started to wrap around it to keep it from moving. The nine tails broke out of it only to get hit in the face with a massive rasengan. Naruto then used the water dragon jutsu to soak the nine tails and then used the lightning ball jutsu to electrocute it. The nine tails grunted a bit, but then started to create a tailed beast bomb to counter Naruto's onslaught. Naruto made 2 shadow clones and had them create the biggest Rasenshuriken they could and had them clash it with the tailed beast bomb. Both Naruto and the nine tails were sent flying back from the explosion. Once the smoke cleared, the nine tails was standing perfectly fine with a grin on its face while Naruto had a few scrapes on him.
"I think that's enough. Now, you must separate my chakra from me. We won't have the full synchronization since you're separating my chakra, but once I regain my chakra we can try the full tailed beast transformation. You'll have to get used to the amount you are about to receive right now. The rest will come later as I just said." The nine tails said
"Alright." Naruto said
He grabbed onto one of the tails with his own chakra and started to pull. This was a battle of will power and Naruto had that in spades. However, the nine tails chakra started to gain control nearly taking over Naruto. He almost lost it until chains sprouted from his back and momentarily stopped the chakra from swallowing him completely.
Unknown place
Naruto started to grunt in pain and when he opened his eyes he was in a different area that he didn't know existed. He started to search for a way out, but then a soft feminine voice spoke up.
"Where are you going, Naruto? I figured you'd want to meet us." The voice said
"Now now, Kushina. I'm sure he's more than happy to see us." A male voice said and Naruto turned around
"Mom? Dad?" Naruto asked and Kushina nodded
"That's right. Now, can't your mother get a hug?" Kushina asked and Naruto immediately gave her a hug
"I can't believe it's you. How are you here?" Naruto asked
"When I sealed the nine tails inside of you, I sealed some of our chakra inside of you to help you with the nine tails. Originally I was supposed to show up if you lost control and sprouted the eighth tail, but apparently that's not going to happen." Minato said
"Look at my baby boy. You're all grown up now. You look exactly like Minato." Kushina said
"Well, he was my idol for so long." Naruto said
"Well, I still wish you had my red hair." Kushina said
"Ino said the same thing." Naruto mumbled, but Kushina heard him
"Ino? Who's that?" Kushina asked
"My girlfriend." Naruto said and Kushina screamed
"How long have you been together?!" Kushina asked with stars in her eyes
"Almost 4 years." Naruto said
"I hope you kept her away from Jiraiya-Sensei." Minato said and Naruto grew sad
"Dad, Pervy-Sage is dead." Naruto said
"I know. I was able to see bits and pieces of your life from inside the seal." Minato said
"The Perv is dead? Who killed him?" Kushina asked
"The leader of the akatsuki. He has the rinnegan and goes by Pain." Naruto said
"The rinnegan? I thought that was just a myth." Kushina said
"Naruto, he's not the leader of the akatsuki." Minato said
"Of course he is and now he's coming after me himself." Naruto said
"No. He's not. On the night of the nine tails attack, I fought the person who is the leader of the akatsuki. He wore a mask with a single eye hole on it. He was responsible for the nine tails attack. He claims to be Madara Uchiha and if I had to guess, he's the strongest member of the akatsuki." Minato said
"A man in a mask? There's no way he's the leader. Pain has the rinnegan. There's no way this guy is stronger than Pain." Naruto said
"You've met him?" Minato asked
"Yeah. The nine tails told me he's not the real Madara Uchiha and I was able to get a blood sample from him. Granny Tsunade is going through all of the blood work to see if she can find a match for his identity." Naruto said
"The nine tails talks to you? He didn't speak to me." Kushina said
"What do you mean?" Naruto asked
"You're not the first nine tails jinchuriki." Kushina said
"I'm not? Who else was the nine tails jinchuriki?" Naruto asked
"I was also the nine tails jinchuriki. Before me, it was Mito Uzumaki." Kushina said
"Why were you the nine tails jinchuriki?" Naruto asked
"I was brought here to become the nine tails jinchuriki when Mito Uzumaki was going to die." Kushina said
"Brought here? Where were you brought from?" Naruto asked
"I was originally living on whirlpool island. You see, only an Uzumaki can hold the nine tails due to our unique form of chakra. That's why I was brought to Konoha." Kushina said
"How was your life then as a jinchuriki?" Naruto asked
"Nobody other than Minato, the elders and the hokage knew. It was kept a secret for my own protection. You need to know that the nine tails has always been in Konoha for hundreds of years, but it was kept a secret." Kushina said
"Yeah. It was kept a secret until I became the jinchuriki." Naruto said
"What do you mean?" Kushina asked
"The third hokage told the entire village about me being the jinchuriki then placed a law saying nobody was allowed to speak about it or harm me." Naruto said
"What the hell was he thinking?! This is your fault, Minato and you know it!" Kushina said
"Me? How is it my fault?" Minato asked
"You just had to seal the nine tails inside of Naruto! I could've taken the nine tails to the grave with me!" Kushina said
"Kushina, in your condition at the time the nine tails would've escaped again and you know that." Minato said and Kushina huffed
"I hate it when you're right. So, Naruto. How was it growing up with the entire village knowing you're the jinchuriki?" Kushina asked
"Not good." Naruto said
"What do you mean?" Minato asked
"Well, I was living on the streets after the orphanage kicked me out when I was young. I was beaten and tortured by ninja and civilians. The beatings happened so much that the seal weakened so many times and I actually used the nine tails chakra to kill a few civilians and shinobi. I didn't know what it was at the time, but I still did it and I remember it." Naruto said
"What did Hiruzen do?" Minato asked
"Nothing. He knew about the beatings, but I was the one who always got in trouble for defending myself. I don't hate him or anything, but after I stole the forbidden scroll I told him he failed me." Naruto said
"Why did you steal the forbidden scroll?" Minato asked
"Because I couldn't do the clone jutsu and a teacher told me that if I learned a jutsu from the scroll then he'd pass me. Ironically that's the night I found out the nine tails was sealed inside of me." Naruto said
"Of course you can't do the clone jutsu! An Uzumaki will never be able to do that jutsu! Our chakra is too dense for it and we're allowed to substitute it with a different type of clone!" Kushina said and her hair split into nine sections
"Is it bad that I'm scared?" Naruto whispered to Minato
"No." Minato whispered
"Mom, how did you and dad meet?" Naruto asked and Kushina calmed down
"We met in the ninja academy. It was the first day after I moved to Konoha. We were still little kids when we met and I yelled my name while stating that I was going to become Konoha's first female hokage." Kushina said
"That's when I stood up and announced that I wanted to be hokage as well. A hokage that's respected by everyone." Minato said
"My first impression of Minato was that he wasn't very manly or dependable, so I didn't take him seriously and believe that he could actually become hokage." Kushina said
"Why not? He's like really powerful." Naruto said
"Well, I was really soft spoken and I'd look away everytime Kushina would look at me." Minato said
"Back then I was too young and ignorant to recognize the truth. I guess it was pretty snobby to declare that I was going to become hokage after I just moved from another village. After that, all the boys in class began to tease me. Except for Minato who was silent. They gave me a mean nickname as well." Kushina said and Minato snickered
"They called her tomato because of her red hair and round face." Minato said
"They would constantly tease me about how I would never become hokage and that they hated tomatoes." Kushina said
"I bet dad stepped in and stopped those bullies, right?" Naruto asked
"Well, not exactly." Minato said and rubbed the back of his neck
"Oh no! You're completely wrong about that. Tomato, I grudgingly accepted being called that. It was embarrassing, but I had to admit that it was very accurate. Minato would only sit there and watch as they teased me. Suddenly I had enough and started to beat up everyone that would tease me." Kushina said with a smile on her face
"That's how she got her nickname, The Red Hot-Blooded Habanero. I always smiled when she would beat up her bullies because I knew she was strong and they deserved it. However, whenever she caught me looking, she would yell at me and I'd turn away from her." Minato said
"Wimp." Naruto mumbled
"Yes. I did think your father was a wimp as well. That all changed the day he saved me. I was kidnapped by Kumo Shinobi who wanted me for my unique ability that could suppress a tailed beast. I left a trail of my hair hoping somebody would come and save me. Since I was an outsider as they would call me, I didn't hold out much hope that anybody would come and save me. We'd almost reached the border and I thought I was done for. I wasn't really paying attention since I'd given up hope and the next thing I knew, Minato was standing there and the Kumo shinobi were defeated." Kushina said
"How'd you know she was in danger?" Naruto asked
"We had just become genin and I wanted to know if she'd come celebrate with me later. I went to her house and the place was destroyed. I searched everywhere for her and almost gave up when I couldn't sense her chakra in the village. I went to the forest and saw a trail of red hair that I knew belonged to her, so I followed it. It took me a few hours, but I finally caught up to them and used my stealth to my advantage. I took out the Kumo shinobi one by one until they were all defeated." Minato said
"When I saw him in front of me asking if I was okay, I was happy and nearly fainted until he caught me. There he was, the least manly person I knew standing in front of me after taking out the Kumo shinobi. He carried me all the way back to the leaf village and that's when I noticed my hair in his hand. He told me my hair was beautiful and that he noticed it right away. I asked him why he was always ignoring me and he told me...actually, Minato. Do you remember what you told me?" Kushina asked
"I told you it's because I knew you could take care of yourself and that you were strong in both body and spirit. I told her that as long as she's living in Konoha and she's a Konoha shinobi that she's not an outsider." Minato said
"That was the day I fell in love with your father. From that moment on, Minato was a great ninja in my eyes. I realized he could make my dreams come true. He changed me. The red hair that I used to hate and gave me so much trouble brought me love. It became the red thread of fate. Since then, I've liked my hair and the most important thing is that I fell in love." Kushina said and they started to fade
"Looks like our time is up. Naruto, are you sure you can trust the nine tails?" Minato asked
"Yes. If I didn't trust him then I wouldn't have listened to anything he's told me." Naruto said
"Alright. I'm trusting you know what you're doing, so I'll give you something." Minato said and did some quick hand signs before touching Naruto's seal
"What did you do?" Naruto asked
"I gave you the other half of the nine tails. I had to split it up in order to seal it away. If you're going up against the akatsuki, then you'll need all of the nine tails chakra and not just half of it." Minato said
"What if somebody tries to extract it from him?" Kushina asked
"I'll place another seal on me that prevents the nine tails from getting extracted." Naruto said and then both of them gave him a hug
"I wish we had more time together. This is the first time I've held you since you were born." Kushina said and started to cry
"Don't worry, Kushina. Naruto will be just fine. I can sense an enormous amount of power from him and that's without the nine tails. How old are you now, Naruto?" Minato asked
"16." Naruto said
"You're still a baby and you already have to face the world head on. Make sure you take care of yourself. Eat healthy and get plenty of sleep. I don't want you to meet us any sooner than what you have to. Make sure this Ino you told us about is treating you right. Give me lots of grandbabies." Kushina said
"We love you Naruto and don't forget that. I'm once again entrusting the village's safety to you." Minato said and then they disappeared for good
"I love you too, mom and dad." Naruto said and wiped away tears he didn't even notice were there
Mindscape
Naruto returned to his mind where he was holding off the influence from the nine tails chakra and with new found strength, he managed to separate the nine tails chakra and absorbed it into himself.
"What did you do? I have all of my chakra again." The nine tails said
"Let's just say my dad gave me one last birthday gift." Naruto said
"The fourth hokage. Now that you have my chakra, you need to learn how to control it. However, that must wait since the green toad is still waiting for you to finish." The nine tails said
"Oh yeah! I totally forgot about him! I'll see you later!" Naruto said
"There's one last thing we need to do." The nine tails said
"What's that?" Naruto asked and the nine tails held out his fist to Naruto
"My name is Kurama." The nine tails said
"Naruto Uzumaki-Namikaze." Naruto said and bumped fists together
"Now go. I must gather my chakra again to regain what you have seperated from me." Kurama said and when Naruto left his mindscape, the cage never closed on Kurama who just laid down
Real world
"Naruto-boy, are you alright?" Fukasaku asked
"Yes." Naruto said
"What happened?" Fukasaku asked
"I met my parents and came to an understanding with the nine tails. We've decided to work together from now on." Naruto said
"I see. Now that you have successfully defeated the anger and hatred in your heart, it is time for me to teach you sage mode." Fukasaku said and Naruto nodded
"I'm ready when you are." Naruto said
"Follow me." Fukasaku said
"Where are we?" Naruto asked
"This is where we will begin your sage mode training. First of all, I must explain to you that what I'm about to teach you is not ninjutsu, but Sage jutsu and there's a big difference between them." Fukasaku said
"What's the difference?" Naruto asked
"Sage jutsu involves making use of outside energy whereas ninjutsu uses internal energy." Fukasaku said
"So, I have to gather energy from around me instead of from inside of me." Naruto said
"Precisely. As you know, the way you perform ninjutsu is by manipulating chakra that is created from mixing mental and physical energy together. Now with Sage jutsu, it involves taking all of that internally generated chakra and adding to it with nature energy from the outside resulting in an even powerful chakra and that leads to all of you ninjutsu, genjutsu and even taijutsu getting a really serious power boost." Fukasaku said
"I get it now. Since I already have two chakras inside of me both spiritual and physical, I need to add in the third chakra, but maintain balance between the three of them, right?" Naruto asked
"That is correct. Now, to become able to absorb nature energy, one must gain the ability to sense it around you to draw it to you and to pull it inside of yourself. In addition, by learning how to become one with nature, you also gain full control over nature energy entering and leaving your body. Practically speaking, what this means in terms of your training is you don't move. You already have that part down, now it is time for you to learn how to gather nature energy. This training won't be over quickly. This is some pretty high level stuff that you're doing." Fukasaku said
"So what should I do first?" Naruto asked
"This waterfall behind me is the secret toad oil of Mt. Myoboku that I told you about earlier. Come here and hold out your hand. I'll apply a small amount of it on you so you can get the feel of what nature energy feels like." Fukasaku said and Naruto walked over to him
"So this is like a shortcut then?" Naruto asked
"Precisely. Now, wherever you run this oil onto your body, nature energy will be able to enter through that spot and then gradually as you learn to feel it, you will gain the ability to sense nature energy. In time you won't need to use the oil at all to sense natural energy. However, there is a risk. If you cannot control natural energy as you use it, then you will start to transform into a toad." Fukasaku said and Naruto looked at his reflection
"I see." Naruto said
"Naruto, with us bonding and essentially becoming one, gathering natural energy should come a lot easier to you. Add in that you've now felt what it is like due to that oil, you should be able to gather nature energy, but you'll have to learn how to balance it out." Kurama said
"The nine tails said since we were now in sync and since you used the oil on me, that I should be able to gather natural energy easily. The only problem I'll have is learning how to balance it." Naruto said
"It's possible that you may have been balancing small amounts of nature chakra throughout your entire life since you've had the nine tails inside of you all this time." Fukasaku said
"How so?" Naruto asked
"There are some people who believe that the tailed beasts are made of natural energy. As such, being the nine tails host with the seal acting like a needle "dripping" its chakra into your system, you may have been balancing natural energy for your whole life." Fukasaku said
"He's right. Tailed beasts replenish their chakra by gathering natural energy and converting it into their own chakra. The seal leaks my chakra into your system and you've been balancing it ever since you were born. This should come easy to you, but even if you finish quickly, you still have your personal training to do." Kurama said
"He said tailed beasts recover their chakra by converting natural energy into their own chakra. He doesn't think this should take me long, but I still have my own training I need to get done." Naruto said
"Then let's get started." Fukasaku said
The sage training for Naruto began and it wasn't hard for him to be able to see the natural energy. He was close to mastering sage mode after a few days, but he couldn't properly balance the natural energy, so Fukasaku had to hit him with his special staff that he quickly learned hurt a lot. The hardest part other than the balancing of natural energy was when Naruto had to meditate on a board while it was on top of a pointy rock. It took him two weeks to finally get it down.
Currently he was still balancing while gathering natural energy. Fukasaku could see and feel the natural energy going into Naruto and knew he was going to master it now. After a few seconds a large amount of natural energy went into Naruto and he managed to keep it well balanced. His appearance changed around his eye. He has yellow irides and toad-like pupils, with orange pigmentation around his eyes. A bird landed on his shoulder and caused him to lose his balance on the board sending him crashing to the ground, but he realized it didn't hurt that much.
"That actually didn't really hurt." Naruto said and Fukasaku landed in front of him
"Exactly. That's because of sage mode. Your body has become activated in a whole new way. Now that you've mastered sage mode and nature energy, we have come to one final step." Fukasaku said
"We're not done yet?" Naruto asked
"No. It's a type of sparing that sages perform using sage jutsu chakra. Now, I will pick up where Jiraiya-boy left off and teach you how to properly use frog kumite. When using frog kumite, the natural energy you've gathered to create senjutsu chakra will surround you in an aura of that same natural energy. This aura will act as an extension of your body and cannot be seen by anyone other than those who have trained in senjutsu. By utilising the aura, you will be able to extend the range and force of your physical attacks. Strikes that seemingly or would normally miss will actually make contact with the target. Only users of Sage Mode can see or sense this aura's extension. Nothing else, not even the Rinnegan can see it. It's how Jiraiya-boy was able to fend himself off against Pain." Fukasaku said
"So this is a spar using only what Pervy-Sage started to teach me?" Naruto asked
"Precisely." Fukasaku said
Naruto and Fukasaku both into the same stance and after a brief stare off, they jumped into action. It was clear from the start that Naruto was new at the taijutsu style, but he slowly got the hang of it and managed to knock Fukasaku down a few times. They spared like this for the next two weeks from sunrise to sunset. Naruto also trained on his own and made great progress. His Rasenshuriken was finally complete and he could now throw it. He worked on incorporating sage chakra into his jutsus and he made them more destructive than what they were originally were. Currently he was in the middle of eating lunch with Fukasaku after a long day of training.
"Naruto-boy. You're able to manipulate sage jutsu chakra and have mastered the basics of frog kumite in the sage arts. Now, I have one final thing I must tell you." Fukasaku said
"What would that be?" Naruto asked
"This is about the risks of using sage mode. Once you grasp the risks that are involved with it, then you can exploit sage mode to its fullest extent. As you've already figured out, you can't use sage mode for long periods of time. 5 minutes is the most you can use it for. Also, to gather the amount of nature energy needed for sage mode, you must stay completely still and that makes it useless when you're already in the heat of battle." Fukasaku said
"I'm sure you have a solution to this already. I mean you wouldn't teach something like this if you didn't have a way to eliminate the risks." Naruto said
"Right again my boy. All that you and I would have to do is merge our bodies together, then it'll be fine." Fukasaku said
"Absolutely not. I refuse to share any kind of space with that toad." Kurama said
"What's your problem?" Naruto thought
"I hate toads." Kurama said
"Sorry, Geezer-Sage. The nine tails won't allow you to merge with me. He hates toads." Naruto said
"If we cannot merge our bodies together, then you will not be able to use sage mode to its fullest extent." Fukasaku said
"I have an idea." Naruto said
"What would that be?" Fukasaku asked
"My shadow clones. I can leave some around during a fight and have them gather nature energy. Once my sage mode ends, I can release a shadow clone and instantly enter sage mode from the nature chakra they gathered." Naruto said
"That can work. However, we need to know the exact amount of shadow clones you can maintain while fighting as they gather nature energy." Fukasaku said
"Then let's have a spar. I'll create some shadow clones to start collecting nature energy as we fight and I'll increase the number of shadow clones after every spar. I'll increase them until I've reached my limit." Naruto said
Fukasaku nodded and after Naruto created a shadow clone, they began the spar. Naruto kept on surprising Fukasaku each time they fought because he would just get better each time. They spared for over an hour and discovered Naruto had a limit of 6 shadow clones he could use to gather nature energy while he's fighting. As they were sparring, they were unaware that Konoha was under attack by the akatsuki, so they just started to relax.
"Lord Fukasaku! Bad news!" A pink tadpole said
"What's wrong?" Fukasaku asked
"Big brother Kosuke our messenger has been killed." The tadpole said
"What happened?" Fukasaku asked
"I don't know, but his name disappeared from the register." The tadpole said
"This doesn't feel right. Has something happened to the leaf village?" Fukasaku asked
"I'll go get ready." Naruto said
"I left a special gift in your belongings for completing your sage training." Fukasaku said and Naruto nodded before vanishing
"Lord Fukasaku, what are we going to do?" The tadpole asked
"Ma has left to gather food for dinner and she's near the leaf village. She can summon us to the village so we can defend it. There's no doubt in my mind that it's the akatsuki." Fukasaku said
Konoha
Destruction and chaos was all Konoha knew at this moment. Pain has come looking for Naruto and easily walked into the village then destroyed it. Wounded and deceased were everywhere you looked and you could hear the cries of everyone who survived the attack. Among the dead were ninja and civilians alike, but two names that stood out amongst the crowd was Kakashi Hatake and Shizune.
Kakashi challenged one of the six paths of pain, but was defeated in the end. Shizune had her soul ripped out after refusing to give up Naruto's location even though she didn't know anything. This left Ino crying over her dead body. Tsunade was using her chakra and Katsuyu summons to keep people alive and then, a huge wave of something invisible destroyed the entire village. Once the smoke and dust cleared, Konoha was nothing, but a crater.
As Sakura uncovered herself from the rubble she was trapped under, she saw the destruction of the village and started to cry. There was only one person that had any chance of stopping pain and that caused her to yell out Naruto's name. Coincidentally, that's when Shima's summoning jutsu activated and a huge cloud of smoke appeared in the middle of the crater.
Once the smoke cleared, all you could see was 3 large toads in different colors and sizes. However, I'd you looked closely you could see Naruto as well. He was standing on top of Gamakichi who was standing on top of Gamabunta who was flanked by Gamahiro and Gamaken. Everything was topped off with Fukasaku standing on top of Naruto's head and each one of them had a battle look on their faces.
"Where are we?" Naruto asked
"Where's the enemy we were supposed to face?" Gamabunta asked and Shima appeared on top of Gamakichi
"What's going on, Ma? Why didn't you summon us to the leaf village like we asked?" Fukasaku asked
"This is the hidden leaf village." Shima said
"What happened to it?" Gamakichi asked
"It's obvious who did this. PAIN, I KNOW YOU'RE THERE. GET YOUR ASS OUT HERE SO I CAN KILL YOU." Naruto yelled and then Tsunade landed next to him as Pain arrived
"All six of them have arrived together." Fukasaku said
"I am the fifth hokage. How dare you trample on the jewel my grandfather created? I won't forgive you. I'll settle this now as hokage." Tsunade said
"It appears you understand a little about..." Deva path was cut was off when a fist landed square on his jaw and sent him flying away
"Shut the hell up. You destroyed my home and now it's time for you to die. Gamakichi, take granny Tsunade away from here and get her healed up. Make sure nobody and I mean nobody interferes." Naruto said
"Wait. Take a Katsuyu slug. She can assist you in battle." Tsunade said and gave him a toad
"Come on, Lady Tsunade." Gamakichi said as he grabbed Tsunade and jumped away
As soon as Gamakichi jumped away, the fight started. The Animal path summoned a rhino that charged towards Naruto only to be stopped when Naruto grabbed it by its horn and threw it away like it was nothing. Animal path summoned two more summoning creatures, but Shima and Fukasaku stopped them with a genjutsu. Naruto created two shadow clones and had them defeat the summoning creatures with a giant rasengan.
As Naruto charged in to attack the actual bodies of Pain, Gamabunta, Gamahiro and Gamaken sprang into action to take out the summoning creatures. As Naruto was rushing in to fight, the Pretha path came towards him and the Katsuyu slug informed him that it absorbs ninjutsu, so Naruto used his taijutsu to defeat him. Naruto threw a fake and when he went for his actual attack, he was surprised that Pretha path dodged his attack. Katsuyu informed him that all of the eyes of the paths were connected, so a blind spot attack would work. He switched to his frog kumite taijutsu and easily won.
"Naruto, even though you have defeated the Pretha path, he can come back to life. The one all the way in the back is able to summon something that can fix the body. I'd you want to make things easier for you, then you should take out the Pain keeping its distance." Katsuyu said
"I'm on it." Naruto said
Naruto created a giant Rasenshuriken and threw it at the remaining paths. Like he predicted, each of them jumped away, but his true target was the Nakara path. Once the Rasenshuriken was close enough, but just out of striking distance, Naruto made it expand and it destroyed the Nakara path by ripping it to pieces.
"I see. So you've become a sage and mastered the same jutsu as Jiraiya sensei." Deva path said
"You have no right to call him sensei. You killed him and claimed it was for peace and he was one of the most peaceful people around. This crusade that you're on won't lead to peace. It'll just lead to another war." Naruto said
"Peace cannot be achieved without pain. War causes pain and I shall create a new world from the ashes of war." Deva path said
"Then it's time for you to die. Once I defeat the fake bodies of yours, I'm coming for the real body, Nagato." Naruto said
"I am Pain." Deva path said
Ice style: frozen tundra
This is a jutsu Naruto created while he was training on Mt. Myoboku and it's self explanatory. It turned the entire area around them into a frozen wasteland and now Naruto had the advantage. Naruto held up one hand sign and then a black dragon made of ice sped towards Deva path, but he held his hand out and completely destroyed the jutsu. Naruto quickly used the water dragon jutsu and combined it with the electromagnetic murder, causing serious damage to the Animal path and then he was blasted away by an invisible force.
Naruto stood up and quickly jumped out of the way from a rocket that was headed straight towards him. Naruto dodged the rocket at the last second and then used the lightning ball jutsu on Ashura path, but like last time this jutsu was also destroyed by an invisible force. Naruto's sage mode ran out, so he quickly released a shadow clone on Mt. Myoboku and was down to 4 clones since he used one right before he came to Konoha.
"What's going on? Why aren't any of my attacks hitting?" Naruto asked
"One of the paths has the ability to control gravity. However, there seems to be a certain amount of time in between his ability usage." Katsuyu said
Naruto nodded and decided to test out the recovery time for Deva paths ability. Naruto used his kunai shadow clone jutsu on Deva path and like he expected, all of the kunai were blown away. He instantly started to count in his head how long the jutsu has before it could be used again and then attacked the Deva path with taijutsu. Naruto had the clear advantage and nearly finished the Deva path, but he was blown away by an invisible force.
"Five seconds." Naruto thought and smirked
"He's expecting you to take that one out first. Throw him off and take out the Human path first." Kurama said
Naruto nodded and ran straight at the Deva path who prepared to blow him away, but as soon as he activated his ability, Naruto vanished and the human path was destroyed by a giant rasengan. Three down and three to go. Naruto took out Nakara path, Pretha path and human path in 10 minutes. He went through hand signs and this jutsu took a lot of chakra, so he activated his Fuyugan to automatically triple the amount of chakra needed.
Ice style: nine tailed fox
Naruto created a gigantic ice replica of Kurama and stood on top of its head. Inside the seal, Kurama gave his nod of approval at his first time seeing the jutsu. Naruto went through more hand signs and used his blizzard jutsu, but the gigantic nine tails breathed out a large amount of snow from its mouth and nothing could be seen.
"That's quite the jutsu, Naruto. Why would you create a blizzard?" Kurama asked
"All of the remaining paths still have linked eyesight. If they can't see me coming, then I can take out two of them before this jutsu stops working." Naruto thought
"Why aren't you using my chakra?" Kurama asked
"Because I don't know what would happen to my shadow clones on Mt. Myoboku. Plus, I haven't been able to combine your chakra with sage mode." Naruto thought
"Hurry up. I can sense that your vixen is growing worried." Kurama said
"Of course she is." Naruto thought and then answered sage mode again
Onlookers
"Hinata, what's going on down there?" Sakura asked
"It's amazing. Naruto took out three of the enemy so far and it's only been 10 minutes." Hinata said
"He's that strong now?" Sakura asked
"Even the best jonin we have all struggled against just one of them." A different Hyuga said
"There's no need to worry. Naruto's got this." Gamakichi said
"Hi Kichi." Ino said, as she landed next to them
"Hey there, pretty lady. Listen, I know you're all worried, but if you want Naruto to win this quickly, you all need to stay put and don't interfere." Gamakichi said
"Sorry, but that's just not going to happen." Sakura said
"You don't understand. Naruto can't fight seriously if he has to worry about somebody dying next to him. It's why he sent Lady Tsunade back over here." Gamakichi said and then they saw the gigantic ice fox
"What the hell is that?!" Sakura asked
"I don't know. When we're training he's never used that before." Gamakichi said
"It's obviously a gigantic nine tailed fox." Ino said
"I can't see anything now." Hinata said
"What? Why not?" Sakura asked
"Naruto created a blizzard and it has so much chakra spread around it that I can't tell where anybody is. It's like I'm looking into a sea of chakra." Hinata said
Battlefield
Naruto was slowly walking through the blizzard and thanks to his sage mode, he could easily track where the remaining paths were. He knew he didn't have long before the jutsu ended so he was being quick about it. He had his lighting slicer ready around his hand and once he found one of the paths, he cut upward through the body and listened as it hit the ground. He blew away some of the blizzard and it was the animal path that he defeated.
"Four down. Two to go." Naruto thought
Almighty push
Naruto heard Deva path trying to get rid of the blizzard since he must've felt the connection to one of his paths go away. Naruto smirked again as he was able to keep the blizzard going for a little bit longer. He located the Ashura path who was firing missiles everywhere into the blizzard and Naruto just stood there and watched. He decided to use his new vanishing rasengan and hoped it wouldn't fail him. He got a better angle on the Ashura path and threw his rasengan at it. He watched as the rasengan vanished into thin air and then the Ashura path exploded.
"And then there was one." Naruto said, as his sage mode and jutsu stopped
"You're an annoying little pest, nine tails." Deva path said
"Of course you'd say that. You've never faced somebody stronger than you. Your biggest advantage was blind siding people with your abilities, but you made one fatal mistake." Naruto said
"Oh? What would that be?" Deva path asked
"You waited to come and capture me after you killed Jiraiya. You should have come for me right after, but you didn't. I was already close to his level and he managed to take out 3 of your paths. I've surpassed him in the amount of time you foolishly decided to sit and wait." Naruto said
"You may have taken out some of the paths, but they can be replaced. I am a god and this world shall know pain." Deva path said
"This world has already known pain long before either of us existed. Your twisted ways of peace will only lead to this world's destruction." Naruto said
"I am the world's savior. I was put on earth to usher in a new era peace and peace is only achieved through chaos." Deva path said
"What about all of the innocent lives you've taken? Does any of that matter to you?" Naruto asked
"A small price to pay for a world of peace. Their sacrifices will not be for nothing." Deva path said
"You're basically in your way to committing a mass genocide." Naruto said
"What you call a genocide, I call this nothing other than a cleansing of the world." Deva path said
Universal pull
Before Naruto could react, he was going towards the Deva path with no way of stopping. Deva path stabbed Naruto with some black rods before pinning him down to the ground.
"Tell me, has this tamed you a little, nine tails?" Deva path said
"You know, if I were the actual nine tails you'd be dead now, right? I bet you expect me to lay here and listen to your evil tirade about why you're doing this and how your childhood was growing up. I'll be honest, if you were fighting the old me from 3 years ago, I'd probably let you sit here and talk to me, but this is the new and approved Naruto. To be blunt, I simply don't give a shit about why you're doing this." Naruto said
"That's good. It makes capturing you much more easier." Deva path said
"This is the thing. You honestly think I don't feel you trying to drain my chakra? I'm an Uzumaki that has the nine tails sealed inside of me. It would take forever to drain me of my chakra. Now, I'd love to stay and chat, but it's time for me to break out of this." Naruto said and Deva path had to jump out of the way from somebody crashing down on him
"N-Naruto." Hinata said
"Great. The last thing I wanted was for Hinata to jump in. No offense, but she's not the fighting type. You ready, Kurama?" Naruto thought
"Remember, you can only use the version one so far. Do not push it." Kurama said
"I know." Naruto thought
All of a sudden, Naruto is surrounded by a bright orange chakra cloak and easily breaks out of the hold Deva path had on him. Before Deva path could react, Naruto kicked him away and then looked at Hinata.
"I thought I told Gamakichi to let everyone know not to interfere." Naruto said
"H-He did, but y-you were in trouble and I needed to save you." Hinata said
"I appreciate the help, but I had it under control. Now, can you please go back to where everyone else is?" Naruto asked
"O-Okay." Hinata said and quickly ran away as Deva path landed in front of him
"Ready for your final stand?" Naruto asked
"You shall experience the full might of my pain." Deva path said
Naruto just vanished and all the Deva path saw was an orange streak before he caught a fist to the gut. Naruto created two chakra arms that formed from his back and bashed Deva path into the ground. Naruto was blasted away from an almighty push and then saw Deva path running away from him. Naruto gave chase and slammed a rasengan into the back of the Deva path who underestimated Naruto's newfound speed. The Deva path then used his gravity manipulation to hit Naruto with a giant slab of earth that sent him flying away. Naruto gave chase again after he recovered from his dazed state, but when he caught up to Deva path, Naruto saw him toss a small black orb into the sky.
"What the hell is that?" Naruto asked
Planetary devastation
All of a sudden, Naruto was lifted off of the ground and sucked into a giant sphere made of nothing except the earth around him. He was trapped, but the Deva path kept adding more and more chakra to make the attack stronger in order to hold Naruto long enough to transport him.
"Looks like we'll have to use the full synchronization." Naruto thought
"We've barely been able to do it once during your training. Are you sure this is the way you want to get out of here?" Kurama asked
"It's the only way." Naruto thought
After concentrating long enough, Naruto and Kurama became fully in sync and then started the full synchronization. Outside of the giant sphere seemed normal, until a golden tail broke through the jutsu. After the first tail came out 8 more followed and then Kurama broke through the attack and then launched a tailed beast bomb at Deva path who countered with an almighty push. The force was so great that Deva path was still sent flying back and before he could get up, Naruto fell out of the air and slammed a wind style: rasengan into his stomach.
"Well, that's over with." Naruto said and started to remove the chakra rods from Deva path
"Are you sure it's done?" Katsuyu asked as she came from underneath his shirt
"I forgot you were in there, Katsuyu. To answer your question, yes this is the last of the paths, but there's still one more person I need to find to actually end this." Naruto said and entered sage mode then stabbed himself in the hand
"Found him." Naruto said
"Shall I call for a squad of reinforcements?" Katsuyu asked
"No. I need to go alone." Naruto said
Forest
"You were different during this fight. You were a lot more brutal than I expected." Kurama said
"I know. I never fight like that, but seeing what he did to my home and the Mount of people he killed, it just made me snap." Naruto thought
"You should work on that. You still have the Uzumaki temper and it clearly can still get the best of you. So, what are you going to do once you confront this Nagato person?" Kurama asked
"Honestly, I should kill him, but I don't think that's the right way to go about things." Naruto thought
"That's good. Killing him would not be wise. There is one more path known as the outer path." Kurama said
"So I have to defeat one more path before this is over?" Naruto thought
"No. The outer path has the ability to use the rinne-rebirth jutsu." Kurama said
"What does that do?" Naruto thought
"Long story short, this Nagato person has the power to bring everyone back to life that he's killed in the leaf village." Kurama said
"So, I basically have to listen to another sob story and convince him to use the rinne-rebirth jutsu." Naruto thought
"If you want your friends and everyone that was killed during the assault back to life, then yes." Kurama said and Naruto sighed
"Fine. Now that I've defeated the paths, I feel wrong for some reason." Naruto thought
"Most likely because you saw yourself in him during the fight. It is true that the strongest shinobi can tell what the other is thinking when they fight, but you were blinded by your emotions and ignored anything that would have told you why he's doing what he's doing. You have company." Kurama said
"I know." Naruto thought
"NARUTO." A voice yelled as Inoichi, Shikaku and Ko Hyuga landed in front of him
"What's up?" Naruto asked
"The fact that you're here by yourself, does that mean you finally defeated the sixth pain?" Inoichi asked
"It doesn't really matter who won or who lost." Naruto said
"What happened?" Shikaku asked
"I don't know. It's hard to explain." Naruto said
"I don't understand. What do you mean by that?" Inoichi asked
"I don't think it's really important. I'm on my way to see the real pain right now. Please, don't try to follow me. I need to do this alone." Naruto said
"Have you figured out where the real Pain can be found?" Ko asked
"Yeah. When I was still in sage mode, I reversed tracked him through one of the black rods from one of the path's bodies." Naruto said
"Why is it so important to go alone? What's going on, Naruto?" Inoichi asked
"There's something I need to checkout. I need to talk to him. The real Pain. I was so blinded by emotion during our fight that I didn't try to understand why he's doing what he's doing. Just let me go alone." Naruto said
"You know once Ino finds out she's going to kill you, right?" Inoichi asked
"Yeah. I guess we'll have to see what she does when I return to the village." Naruto said
"Go on ahead. I think you've earned the right since you were the one who defeated Pain." Inoichi said
"Thanks." Naruto said and ran off
"Him and Ino, huh? How'd that happen?" Shikaku asked
"I have no idea." Inoichi said
"I'm surprised you approve of it." Shikaku said
"He makes her happy and she's become a better person because of him. That's all I want for her." Inoichi said
Naruto
As he was running through the trees, Naruto stopped and released his last shadow clone he had on Mt. Myoboku to enter sage mode. This made it easier to track Nagato and he sensed another person was with him as well. He made it to a large tree and to his surprise, it was made from paper. He peeled the tree open and entered to see a man in some kind of machine with rods sticking out of his back. A woman with violet hair and amber eyes ran in front of him to protect him, but she was called off.
"Konan, stay out of this." The man said
"But, Nagato." Konan said
"It's alright." Nagato said and Konan stepped aside
"You look nothing like I expected you to, Nagato." Naruto said
"So the peacemaker comes stumbling in at last. Tell me, do you hate me now? I'm the object of your vendetta. Do you wish to exact revenge on me?" Nagato asked
"Killing Nagato achieving vengeance isn't going to change a single thing or change the world. You will only get personal satisfaction." Konan said
"At first I was coming to kill you, but on my way here I realized if I did that then I'd be no better than you. I want to know what made you the way you are. Why did you become Pain?" Naruto asked
"Very well. Two moments define my greatest pain. The first was the death of my parents. The hidden rain village had been caught up in the great nations war and became a battlefield. Leaf ninja broke into our house and killed us because they thought we were the enemy. My parents died all because of the shinobi war that your village started. I have never forgotten the searing pain of that moment. I've endured it till this very day. That pain transformed into hate, but it also brought my powers into bloom. After that I met Konan and a boy named Yahiko after Konan found me nearly starving to death." Nagato said
"Sounds similar to how I met Anko and Kurenai." Naruto thought
"They were war orphans like I was, but they were strong and I was fighting desperately to stay alive. With nowhere else to turn, I joined them. We had to steal food just to survive. There was no system for helping orphans at that time. Even under those severe circumstances, Yahiko never gave up hope. Yahiko was always the optimistic one. One day we heard fighting above our hideout and we decided to see who it was. It was Jiraiya-sensei and his two teammates against Hanzo the salamander. Jiraiya-sensei taught us for three years until we were able to defeat one of his shadow clones and then he felt that we were ready to be on our own again." Nagato said
"I guess Pervy-Sage has a thing for three year training trips." Naruto thought
"The three of us formed the Akatsuki, with Yahiko as our leader and we began advocating an end to the war. Our message proved popular and we gathered many followers. During the third shinobi war, we were approached by a man in a mask who called himself Madara Uchiha. He offered to help us in our pursuits and show me how to unlock the full potential of my rinnegan. Yahiko refused the offer, suspecting the masked man only meant to use us. Throughout our quest for peace, our ranks swelled and became known throughout Amegakure so much so that Hanzo the Salamander, the village's leader, began to feel that we threatened his rule. He approached us, offering to work together with them to help negotiate with the other warring villages." Nagato said
"I feel as if a gigantic plot twist is about to happen in the story and I won't like it." Naruto thought
"The next day, at a meeting to finalise the arrangement, Yahiko and I were ambushed by Hanzo and his men with support from Konoha's Danzo Shimura. Using Konan as a hostage, Hanzo threatened to kill her if I did not kill Yahiko. Unwilling to let me have that on his conscience, Yahiko impaled himself onto my kunai, using his dying breath to state his faith that I would change the world. That is the day that Pain was born." Nagato said
"I should've known something like this would happen. You should've sent word to the leaf village about Danzo interfering in another village's affairs. I can't believe Danzo has played a huge part in turning you into this. Actually, I can believe it. Danzo is a war hawk and doesn't believe in peace through non-bloodshed. I understand you now, but even though I understand you, that doesn't change how I feel. There's no way that I can forgive you. I still hate you." Naruto said
"Then you want to settle things with me." Nagato said
"I do, but Pervy-Sage believed in me. He wanted me to continue his quest for peace and for those reasons, I chose to believe in him and to follow what he taught me. So that's it. That's why I'm not going to kill you guys." Naruto said
"After everything that happened, you still believe in Jiraiya-sensei's teachings? Very well then. You've given your answer and you expect us to wait until you somehow magically transform this world to a peaceful place. No! Never! How can I believe in Jiraiya's words after all of this? There will never be such a thing known as true peace. Not as long as we're forced to live in this accursed world. Peace is impossible!" Nagato said
"Well, then I'm gonna break that curse one day. If it's truly such a thing as peace in this world, then somehow I'll find it. I'll never stop looking." Naruto said and then Nagato froze
"Nagato, what's the matter?" Konan asked
"Those words." Nagato said
"That's right. All of those words are taken right out of this book. The very first novel that Pervy-Sage ever wrote. He was seriously trying to change the world with his message and then the back of it he wrote about a student who helped provide him with inspiration. It was you, Nagato. The name of the hero in this book is Naruto. My name is a precious heirloom handed down to me by Pervy-Sage. There's no way I'm gonna give up and dishonor his gift. I will become hokage and I will bring peace to the hidden rain. I'm asking you to believe in me." Naruto said and the Nagato thought back to his moments with Jiraiya even the moments before he killed him
"Why should I? Do you really think you'll never stray from that path no matter how much pain falls onto you? Do you think you will always believe in yourself? Can you guarantee it? How can you possibly have that much faith that life won't change you?" Nagato asked
"Because I felt pain too. You're not the only one. I grew up alone with nobody to talk to. I was vilified and hated in my village, just because I'm the nine tails jinchuriki. I didn't meet my first genuine precious people until I nearly died of starvation one day. A few years later, somebody I thought I could consider a best friend betrayed the leaf village and nearly killed me. Fast forward a few years later and then one of your members killed somebody important to me named Asuma Sarutobi. Then you killed Pervy-Sage. The reason I won't let life affect me is because I've created strong bonds with people who keep me grounded and aren't afraid to go upside my head if I get too big for my britches. There's no telling what kind of pain I may face down the road, but if I stop believing just because things get difficult, If the hero in this book were to change who he is, then it would become a whole different story. It would be a completely different story than what Pervy-Sage left behind and it wouldn't be about Naruto. I can't write any books like he can, so any sequels will have to come from the life I live. No matter how much pain my path may bring, I'll keep moving forward because that's who Naruto is." Naruto said
"If the hero ever changes, it'll be a different story. We are sibling students sharing the same sensei. We ought to be able to understand each other. You really are a curious fellow. You remind me of myself when I was much younger. Yet you are stronger both physically and mentally. I wasn't able to continue believing in Jiraiya's ideas. Nor was I able to keep believing in myself, but you give me a vision of a future that shows a different path from the one I've walked. I think I shall believe in you after all, Naruto Uzumaki. I'll use the Gedo art of rinne-rebirth." Nagato said
"Nagato, you can't!" Konan said
"It's alright, Konan. All I'm going to do is make a new choice even though I've given up hope." Nagato said
"So Kurama was right. There is one last path and you were the final path." Naruto said
"That's right. Konan, when I am done, I want you to destroy my eyes. If Naruto is going to lead this world to an era of peace, then Madara must not get his hands on my eyes." Nagato said
"I can't, Nagato. Shouldn't we find better use of them?" Konan asked
"No. This is the only way. I'm asking you this as a friend. Will you destroy my eyes for me or not?" Nagato asked
"I-I'll do it." Konan said
"Thank you." Nagato said
Gedo art: Rinne-rebirth
Nagato summoned the King of Hell back in Konoha and released the souls of the deceased from its mouth. The souls are then returned to their rejuvenated bodies and everyone started to wake up. Once the jutsu was complete, Nagato's hair turned completely white and he was gasping for air. After a few more words were spoken and Nagato entrusted his dreams to Naruto, Nagato finally died.
Konan destroyed his eyes like he asked her to and Naruto offered Konan a place to live in Konoha, but she respectfully declined stating that she would stay in Amegakure to change it. Naruto gave her a tri-pronged kunai for emergencies and in return she gave him a paper bouquet of flowers. After traveling through the forest and making a memorial for Jiraiya, Naruto returned to the village and was welcomed back to cheers from everyone in the village.
Out of the crowd came Sakura who wanted to punch him, but just gave him a hug and called him an idiot. Ino, however, was not as gentle as Sakura. She marched right up to him and gave him a nice hard slap on the face, but followed it up with a passionate kiss that confused everyone and broke Hinata's heart. Naruto broke the kiss with Ino and smiled at her.
"I'm back." Naruto said
"I know. Everyone's back alive thanks to you." Ino said
"No. It was Nagato who brought everyone back to life." Naruto said and looked at Shikaku who nodded at him after speaking to an anbu
"So, what's next? Got anytime for your girlfriend?" Ino asked
"Not right now. I have something to deal with." Naruto said

We are unable to send the village forward as it currently stands. Besides, she is the one who allowed the leaf village to be destroyed." Koharu said
"I was really hoping that Jiraiya would be able to take the mantle as hokage, but sadly he is no longer with us. So, who else is there then?" The fire daimyo asked
"In that case I..."
"I nominate Kakashi Hatake." Shikaku said interrupting Danzo

"Yes. He's my father." Naruto said
"Anbu! Escort him out of here! This is a private meeting!" Danzo said and when the anbu appeared Naruto quickly took them out
"What's the matter, Danzo? Scared that I'll air out your dirty laundry?" Naruto asked
"What is going on?" A council member asked
"Young Naruto, what are you doing here? As Danzo said this is a private meeting that he requested." The daimyo said
"I'm sure it is. This village was destroyed not even a few hours ago and yet you're already here. That isn't suspicious to you? How would Danzo know to request a private meeting about the village being destroyed if it was still standing? In fact it was him who is responsible for the leaf village being destroyed. Tsunade was trying to keep everyone alive while he hid in the shadows." Naruto said
"Do you have evidence to back up this claim?" A council member asked
"Yes." Naruto said
"You may proceed." The fire daimyo said
"Before Pain attacked, I was sent away to start training with the toads on Mt. Myoboku to become a sage. Before I left, I left behind a messenger toad to reverse summon me or send a message if Pain showed up. Tsunade knew I was the only person capable of defeating him and she agreed to my plan. She did send a message for me to be brought back as soon as the assault started, but that never happened because somebody killed the toad I left behind." Naruto said and the glass orb revealed Danzo killing Kosuke before he count deliver the message
"That's not all. Danzo is responsible for turning the akatsuki into what it is today. After I defeated the six paths of pain, I spoke to the actual body and his name was Nagato. Nagato was a war orphan from the hidden rain village during the second shinobi war. During the third shinobi war, Nagato along with his friends Konan and Yahiko were about to agree to peace talks with Hanzo the salamander until Danzo showed up and convinced Hanzo to betray them and kill the akatsuki. They took Konan hostage and forced Yahiko and Nagato to kill each other and that was the day Pain was created. This all falls back into you, Danzo. I also know you had something to do with the death of Shisui Uchiha and you played a part in the Uchiha Massacre." Naruto said
"Danzo, do you have anything to back up these claims?" The fire daimyo asked and Danzo was gone
"He must've snuck out while we were watching the orb." Shikaku said
"Be that as it may, I have made my decision on who the sixth hokage shall be. I would be honored if this man shall accept my offer. So, Naruto Uzumaki-Namikaze, do you accept the title as sixth hokage?" The fire daimyo asked and Shikaku nodded at Naruto who was looking at him
"I accept." Naruto said
"Excellent. For the first order of business we need help with repairs for the village." The fire daimyo said
"Have a genin team along with one jonin go to the land of waves and ask for a man named Tazuna. He's a carpenter and is responsible for overseeing the construction of the great Naruto bridge. Tell him what happened and that I sent the request. He'll be here in a few days with his most skilled workers. Also, send word to princess Koyuki in the spring. She's an ally of ours and she can send aid quickly due to their advancement in technology. All genin and chunin will help clear out the rubble and put together makeshift homes. Recall everyone back to the village that is out on a mission. Have an anbu find Yamato when he returns and have him use his gift to make a few homes for the elderly and disabled. All anbu along with some jonin will be keeping watch until the village security is set. Nobody is to step foot in this village without proper reason or clearance." Naruto said
"I think I've made the right decision." The fire daimyo said and dismissed the meeting
"Lord hokage, we would like to be the first to welcome you as hokage." Koharu said
"Thank you. Now, I know you two are old, but I can really use your help assigning jonin and chunin to help genin teams with the clean up." Naruto said
"It shall be done." Homura said and then they left
"Already taking charge, huh?" Shikaku asked and Naruto chuckled
"Somebody has to. Which reminds me. Tell your son that if I catch him slacking off I'll order his mother to nag him for 2 weeks straight." Naruto said and Shikaku laughed
"That is wrong, but I'll let him know. Do you want me to tell him you're the hokage?" Shikaku asked
"It doesn't matter. Everyone was going to find out sooner or later. Tell the anbu what I said. I don't trust all of them, so I'll have some shadow clones patrolling as well and whoever shows any lack of emotion will be sent to T&I with Anko and Ibiki." Naruto said
"You got it, lord hokage." Shikaku said and vanished
"I'll never get used to that." Naruto said and vanished
Tent
"What's that? Your hokage is comatose?" A Kumo kunoichi named Samui asked
"Yes, but I'm her aid. I can simply accept the letter on her behalf." Shizune said and she was unaware that Naruto was walking up to the tent
"Hey! Who the hell are you?! This is a private meeting with the hokage!" They heard from outside the tent and Samui groaned
"Karui, shut up." Samui said and then Naruto walked into the tent flanked by two anbu that he didn't want
"Naruto, what's going on? Why are the anbu here?" Shizune asked

"Yes." Samui said
"Then he's fine. The Raikage should send a squad of his best anbu to a specific location in river country. If Sasuke is a part of the akatsuki now, then they'll need a long time to unseal the eight tails since they are only down to maybe three members. However, the Raikage should also look for his brother as well. Even if Sasuke unlocked a certain power I hope he doesn't have, he still would be no match against killer B since he's fully synced with his tailed beast." Naruto said
"That is better than what I was expecting. The Raikage will be disappointed for not being able to kill Sasuke, but at least you gave him something." Samui said
"Tell the Raikage if he does fight Sasuke that he can beat him within an inch of his life and send him back in a stasis scroll. The only reason I'm keeping him alive is because the council would bitch if Sasuke was killed." Naruto said and Shizune giggled
"Thank you." Samui said and Naruto quickly wrote down a list of Sasuke's skills, potential skills as well as the location of the akatsuki base where they do the unsealing ritual

"You have my thanks. Also, in a few days time there will be a Kage summit called by the Raikage himself in iron country. Each Kage is permitted to bring two body guards with them. Will you accept the invitation?" Samui asked
"I'll be there." Naruto said and Samui bowed then left
"So, you're the hokage, huh?" Shizune asked and gave Naruto a hug
"Yeah. How's she doing?" Naruto asked
"She's doing good. Those medical seals you created work wonders. She shouldn't be out too much longer." Shizune said
"That's good. To be honest I don't want the title of hokage if it isn't her handing me the hat. Anyway I need to have Danzo placed in the bingo book as an S-ranked criminal with a kill on sight order." Naruto said
"Why?" Shizune asked
"Because of the stuff he's done." Naruto said and then explained the events to Shizune from the meeting
