After lunch, Desti and Luigi went to E. Gadd's lab to borrow his time machine. 'This is a remade version of the time machine, aka the TARDIS. It can also make you follow someone while being invisible with the time machine besides from time travelling. Also, if you see your past self inside the time machine, you won't be erased,' he said, 'However, people won't see you(of course) or hear you. Are you sure you want to use it?' '…Yes,' answered Luigi. 'Looks like I can't stop you two. You may go,' said . After a while, the duo were ready to set off. 'Good luck, guys,' said E. Gadd, as they disappeared with the time machine.
A few seconds later, they went back in time successfully. They saw Past Mario, talking to E. Gadd about the time machine.'You need to stay in here to prevent from being deleted from existence,' said Desti to Luigi. 'Hey there, Mayo!' She shouted to the plumber after she walked out of the time machine. Past Mario looked shocked, but still greeted her and hugged her. 'You're here! Do you know that Meggy really missed you?' He said happily. He turned to E. Gadd and said, 'I don't really need the machine anymore.'
Luigi was really happy to see his beloved brother again. 'Mario!' He shouted, but then he realised that he was in the time machine. He was a bit disappointed about that, of course. He really wanted to go out of the machine and meet Mario again, but he can't since staying in the time machine is the best way to keep him safe. 'If I accidentally met my past self in this lab, I will be erased. And Mario—no, not only him, everybody will be worried and sad because of me.' So he decided to stay and wait for the best time to meet his brother again, which was after he went back to the present.
'Let's head back to the castle,' suggested Desti. Past Mario agreed and they both left E. Gadd's lab. Suddenly, Past Luigi ran in the lab for some random reason again. 'Looks like I've made the right choice,' smiled Luigi, as he followed Mario and Desti.
