"Be happy for this moment, this moment is your life." - Marcus Aurelius
His eyes cracked open as gentle sun rays tattered through the window blinds, the ceiling above was unfamiliar, he quickly adjusted to the light as sleep left his body.
Orange eyes scanned around, recollection seeping back as the reptilian teen took in his surroundings. He's in the dorms, sleeping in his own quarters. Admittedly barebones. Still, it held all the necessary items. Izuku was still getting used to waking up in a bed that actually fit his full body without his feet drooping off slightly, he was still rather fatigued considering he usually woke up at the crack of dawn.
The orange eyed teen was shocked from his analysis as an odd sound jetted out and a vibration rumbled, he leisurely reached for the source of the vibration.
The mobile device gifted to him by Setsuna was by no means fancy, but it was a new experience for the teen and worked well enough. She shoved it into his hands and quickly ran off yelling goodbyes after their heavy handed conversation a few days prior.
It took him a while to figure out how to use the device properly, but it was quite intuitive and simple. He quickly realized how each symbol represented an app that performs a certain function, usually denoted by the name under the icon. The most he used the device for was texting, he'd received plenty of texts off and on from Setsuna after he figured out how to access the messenger app.
The teen powered on the device, he was greeted by a wallpaper, a picture of Setsuna smiling and giving the peace sign in her usual green dress. He returned the smile before tapping on the notification.

The orange eyed reptile was smiling, he liked texting with Setsuna. It was a weird experience being able to talk with her fully, but he enjoyed it immensely. Even if his texting ability was atrocious.
His smile grew wider as Setsuna posted a picture of herself jogging through the park they'd always gone to, he was happy to see that she kept training in his absence, she was wearing her typical sports bra and jogging pants. The caption read "Try to keep your eyes on my face for 15 seconds :P"
He raised a brow at the sentence, orange eyes glazed over her body specifically her face. It was only 15 seconds right? Eyes glued to the image, he realized there had never really been a time where he could just stop and look at a still image of Setsuna. She was always in motion, even in the picture she was in motion but like trapping lightning in a bottle, this was an image he could saviour. He could study every contour of her face privately with an image that would never change, it was an odd prospect to the teen.
Izuku followed the contours of her jaw, eyes tracing the path of stray drops of sweat dripping from her chin as she grinned up at the camera. He forgot the caption after a mere 7 seconds.
His gaze lowered to her neck, her luscious green hair slightly flowing over her shoulders. His gaze never really dipped lower than this, not a gaze this intense at least.
Eyes lowering more, his breath quickened and he began sweating as he started intently, the two objects of attention provoked an odd feeling in his stomach. He quickly lowered his eyes to her abdomen after a few seconds, her well defined abdominal muscles coupled with her well toned but still thin arms gave her an immensely attractive appearance to the reptilian teen.
He quickly shook his head, one of the few times his brain clouded with unsavoury images.
S: … 7:30 AM
S: Did I break you :P. 7:33 AM
You: yes 7:35 AM
S: :D 7:35 AM
They texted back and forth for the next hour or so, Izuku not used to laying still for this long itched to go outside and explore the campus further. However he remembered Setsuna's recommendation to rest, also, he did in fact enjoy texting quite a bit. But he couldn't eliminate the urge.
His musing was interrupted as soft whispers filtered through his enhanced hearing, his head shot up as he bolted to his feet. Still in underwear, he listened to the sound of footsteps. His hearing allowed him to hear through the sound proof walls, at least to an extent.
"...Your rooms…"
It was Aizawa, he was talking to someone, or a few someones.
The reptilian teen quickly put on a pair of sweatpants opting to remain shirtless before he turned the knob, the boy softly creaked his door open. He immediately caught sight of 3 figures walking around the corner of the hallway, quickly, the teen slipped out of his room before softly closing the door behind him.
Izuku shifted his head out as he looked around the corner, he spotted a teen with red white dual colored hair, the bicolor haired boy was nearly as tall as he was and bore a burn scar on the left side of his face. The other figure was a decently tall female, only a few inches shorter than the reptilian teen himself was. Sporting raven black hair wrapped up in a ponytail, she held a prim and proper aura. The other teen seemed melancholic if anything, disinterested.
He decided to make his presence known, the orange eyed teen exited from behind the corner onto the left wing of the 1A dorm and slowly strode towards the group. Aizawa was droning on as he approached. Surprisingly, he did not alert either teen, their backs facing him.
"One last thing…" The man's disinterested eyes shifted to the taller teen a few meters behind the two newcomers, his eyes slightly lit up in recollection before dying back down to his usual deadpan.
"He's here to help you move in." The man pointed at the teen, the red and white haired boy jumped back instantly as he finally registered the reptilian teen's presence, he was obviously battle trained. His hands were held up defensively, a grimace on his scarred face.
Izuku raised a single brow at the shorter boy, odd. The raven haired female was a whole lot slower when it came to reacting to his presence, her head slowly turned.
The reptilian teen watched as her face slowly transformed from calm to horror, an indignant blush spreading across her face as she covers her eyes half heartedly, "What an absurd state of dress!" Her angered eyes bore into his own as he stood stoically, his brows furrowing slightly. "What's a ruffian like you doing here?" She questioned vitriolically.
"Relax, he's a student like you. And he's gonna help you move in, right, Midoriya?" The bicolored teen quickly calmed his intense visage before regaining his disinterested face. The female huffed indignantly as she tried to keep her eyes off him, the way she spoke reminded him of that one boy from the entrance exams.
"You said the recommended students moved in first, I don't recall seeing him at the recommendation exams. Also I thought only 2 recommended students were allowed per class." The bicolored teen gestured to the taller teen, his deep voice conveyed a calm coldness.
"He's a special case student, but he got in through normal means unlike you two." The scruffy man took a drink from a juice pouch without elaborating further.
"Name: Midoriya Izuku. Quirk type: transformation. Quirk name: Kaiju. He'll be helping you move in since he got to move in early himself and his quirk is suited to heavy lifting. Midoriya, this is Todoroki Shoto and Yaoyorozu Momo, the recommended students of Class 1A. Get along." He introduced the two dryly with a small idle gesture.
Izuku nodded at the introduction, he might as well help them. It's not like he had much to do around here anyways, he'd mainly been resting for the past few days. His initial burst of energy after he awoke wore off quickly after all was said and done, he needed to get moving again either way, his muscles were roaring to see some action and he would not just lie around all day texting.
"Kaiju huh…" The heterochromic teen's mutter was not lost on his sensitive ears.
"He can't speak, so don't worry about giving unprompted requests." He held a hand up to his temple, "And Midoriya, put on a shirt. This is not your bachelor pad, got it?" The teen nodded, he'd gotten quite used to wearing shirts. Thankfully most of his clothes from his previous dwelling were delivered to his new residency.
After he quickly put on a plain black T-shirt, the orange eyed teen made his way to the front of the dorms. Two trucks lined next to each other were filled with various boxes, the first one had very little boxes compared to the second one, it however had multiple parts to a huge bed frame.
The two recommended students were chatting before he made his way out, Aizawa seemingly disappeared back to the main building.
They both stopped their chatting (as one sided as it was) as he reached them, the bicolored teen gave a thoughtful expression for a moment before speaking.
"You can help her first seeing as she has less overall items than I do, she just has a large bed frame and a few smaller items in boxes." The bicolored teen put a finger to his chin, sporting the same deadpan look as usual.
"Not sure how you'll be able to fit it through the doors honestly, but after you do you can come help me carry these boxes up to my room. After that I'll handle it myself." He looked the reptile in the eyes, "Sound good?" He nodded. "Yaoyorozu?" Agreement.
"Alright then, Midoriya." Yaoyorozu even though she spoke calm and collected, she held a slight blush on her face.
She shook her head before gesturing for him to come up the ramp, "My bed frame is unique to me and a gift from my parents, it has quite a few parts and may be hard to carry so I will assist you as much I can." The taller teen began walking up the ramp as she shut her eyes haughtily, "I'd typically have a servant do this for me however it's becoming of a hero to get your hands dirty is it not?" She smiled softly, not realizing the teen had just walked past her.
She opened her eyes to see the slightly shocked look of the bicolored teen from below, she heard a small creaking sound from behind, confused, she glanced at the commotion before her eyes widened like saucers.
The boy was carrying the entire lower part of her bed frame with one hand, steadily and without effort. The orange eyed teen gestured her to the move aside as he held the bed frame like it weighed nothing at all. He quickly strolled down the ramp while delicately preserving the wooden bed frame, in no time he made it through the H.A door and disappeared from sight.
"And to think, he's a transformation quirk user. He is likely more powerful..." The eloquent female didn't expect him to be that strong when Aizawa said his quirk was suited to lifting, the bedframe part he carried easily weighed 300-400 pounds by itself. He lifted it easily with one arm.
"He's strong, good." She glanced at the other teen and scoffed, "Is power all boys care about when they want to become heroes?"
"It's all the villains are going to care about." The boy rebuked coldly.
"Hm, touche."
With the help of the reptilian teen, the two recommended students had their rooms completed rather quickly. The reptilian teen heard about their powers in passing conversations, bits and pieces. He felt an odd need to jot all this down, maybe in a notebook or something. Izuku wouldn't be able to keep all the bits and pieces of his observations jumbled inside his brain, he needed an outlet. The orange eyed teen's writing was horrendous, but he was quite the capable drawer if he said so himself, not that he had many chances. Most were just doodles he'd make to pass the time, he'd never shown anyone before.
After finishing up with the boxes, he retreated back into his own room. Admittedly it looked rather generic compared to the other two rooms, but he wasn't about to complain. It served its purpose.
Izuku quickly shuffled through drawers on his provided desk, he found a pen, a few dozen pencils, a permanent marker, and a notebook. Perfect.
He wrote "Power Journal" on the front of the notebook in permanent marker, he quickly opened to the first page and began his work.
The reptilian teen knew instantly what he wanted to do first, the most obvious choice to him.
Setsuna.
He quickly pictured his mate, his love, Setsuna in his mind. His hands merely followed what his brain projected onto the paper, it was almost magical to him how natural it felt to draw and illustrate somebody else especially someone like her. However it wasn't without its flaws, he had to revise his sketch several times before being satisfied.
The clock ticked by as he worked on his notebook, the sky slowly growing dimmer through the blinds as the teen got lost in his drawing.
It'd been a few hours since he first started his drawing, by the time he'd finished his near final sketch of Setsuna it was already nearly 4 PM. It was the longest he'd ever spent on a single drawing, he wanted to make it perfect.
The orange eyed teen held his stomach as it rumbled, he observed his handy work with a satisfied expression.
The sketch was Setsuna wearing her usual casual green outfit she wore most often, slightly bent over with a hand on her back. She had a small smile adorned on her face, Izuku rumbled happily.
His admiration for his own work ceased as he heard a timid knock on his door, he exited from his sitting position and quickly made his way to the doorknob.
The sight of the raven haired girl greeted the green haired teen as he opened his door, she looked slightly nervous at the sight of his taller than average build in the doorway.
"Ah, greetings Midoriya." She noticed his dress, "Glad to see you haven't discarded your shirt." She awkwardly tried to break the ice as she stood in front of his doorway, the orange eyed teen remained stoic. His inward confusion at her sudden visit not evident to the untrained eye.
"My apologies, I haven't been around too many mute person's before so excuse my awkwardness. Furthermore, I'd like to apologize for my previous behaviour earlier today." The reptilian teen raised a brow.
"It was callous of me to label you as a ruffian after only just meeting you, I admit my anxieties have been getting the better of me considering this will be my first time attending a public school. However, that did not justify my previous behaviour." Izuku digested her verbose language, he was a very thoughtful person which led him to seemingly space out during conversations. To the untrained eye this made him appear unresponsive externally, inwardly was a different story.
Truthfully he didn't mind being labeled as a ruffian, he was very rough outwardly and there was a certain perception that he was saddled with. Plus he could tell she was nervous, she'd been fidgeting almost imperceptibly the entire day. His inability to convey his thoughts to people cultivated his immensely perceptible nature, he had to be capable of picking up these signs. His mind was also just analytical by default, he'd often notice irrelevant or background info that simply filtered through his mind passively. Sometimes to his advantage in a fight.
She continued, "Well, I have prepared a meal for the 3 of us, you are surely free to join me and Todoroki if you'd like. It is true we will be comrades for the next 3 years no?" The teen nodded, his eyes slightly lighting up at the prospect of food.
His silence still put the raven haired girl on edge, but she gave a small smile. "Think of it as an extension of my apology, Midoriya."
His lips slowly curled into a small smile, a level of expression she'd barely seen from the boy beforehand. Yaoyorozu was shocked, not expecting his sudden display of emotion. The nuclear-incarnate clapped her on the shoulder as a way of thanks as he walked by, strolling over to the elevator.
The raven haired girl was perplexed, not only had the orange eyed teen shocked her by showing a modicum of emotion. But he touched her shoulder casually, like the orange eyed teen was a friend of her family and not a complete stranger. She wasn't used to casual contact like that.
She quickly snapped out of it, reminding herself that this wasn't the immense estate she was used to where every whim was granted and she never had to leave her comfort zone.
The raven haired teen snapped her head towards the elevator as it opened up, the reptilian teen looking at her with an amused visage as he gestured for her to follow.
She mentally slapped herself, she was being ridiculous. The raven haired girl quickly made her way to the elevator after snapping herself out of her daze.
They stood silently in the elevator, "I must request you don't tell Todoroki about my momentary freeze." The reptile's throat rumbled as if chuckling, he pointed to his mouth.
"Oh yes, dear I am making a fool out of myself today aren't I. After all those drills on first impressions as well, what would father say." She seemed distressed.
The reptilian teen shrugged.
The orange eyed teen quickly sat down at one of the many tables in the lowest floor, Todoroki across from him in the opposite chair. The bicolored teen looked non surplused, or perhaps he was just quiet like Izuku was.
"You two just wait one moment, I'll fetch our provisions." The raven haired girl moved in a quick gait, leaving the two boys on their own as she entered the kitchen area.
The bicolored teen looked disinterested in his surroundings, aloof. The reptilian teen tried to get a read on him but it was difficult, his neutral visage was well practiced.
The heterochromic teen could sense the orange eyes on him, the other teen across the table held a steady gaze as he observed him. The bicolored teen got slightly agitated as the pressure on him didn't let up.
Todoroki hardened his gaze as he made eye contact with the reptilian teen, Izuku didn't flinch. The scarred teen's posture changed from aloof to rugged and straight, his hands curled into fists from underneath the table.
The eye contact continued for a few more moments, the reptilian teen remaining steady and observational as the other boy furrowed his brow further. Their staring contest was cut short as the onyx eyed female returned with a tray carrying three bowls, an accomplished smile on her face.
"Tsk." The bicolored teen looked off in the other direction, his posture slightly shrinking. The orange eyed teen let his eyes off the boy and turned to their chef for today.
"Um, is everything quite alright?" She questioned, Izuku nodded.
"Don't worry about it." The scarred teen muttered out, the eloquently spoken girl frowned at his slightly on edge tone.
Izuku didn't know what was wrong with the other boy, he didn't have the ability to question him directly at his odd (in Izuku's opinion) behaviour. He simply observed him, the greenette couldn't tell what the offense was.
"Right… Well anyways, I have returned with our meal." She placed one bowl in front of the orange eyed teen who began to analyze the steaming food. "One of the many things I enjoyed as a small girl happened to be helping our chefs around the kitchen, they taught me many things." Her voice droned on in the background.
It wasn't like anything he'd seen before, some sort of cut deep fried meat on top of fluffy yellow eggs, both sprinkled with a myriad of vegetable scraps. Sticky white rice sat at the bottom of the bowl, his mouth watered as the aroma reached his nostrils. The reptilian teen was dying to dig into it, but he remembered the constant lesson of manners he'd faced under the Tokage household.
"Typically I'd prepare something more delectable but truthfully, it's rather exciting to make commoner food like this." She giggled as she took her seat next to Todoroki.
"Itadakimasu." The scarred teen muttered before picking up the fried meat, Izuku made a small rumbling sound in agreement as he followed suit with his own chopsticks.
Stuffing the fried meat in his mouth, the orange eyed teen was instantly assaulted by an overload of taste.
He hummed softly as the delicacy broke apart in his mouth. This display of emotion was not lost on the two recommended students.
"Midoriya… Have you never had a pork cutlet bowl before?" Yaoyorozu questioned, the boy in question shook his head smiling as he did so. His aura brightened visibly at the mere taste of his meal, Yaoyorozu smiled at the greenettes expressiveness.
"You're very welcome then."
The very next day, Izuku was busy continuing his page on Setsuna. The sketch was now fully colored and detailed to perfection, it was as good as it was gonna get. And so the teen started writing his actual notes on her, on her power from the limited use he's seen of it.
He felt mostly rejuvenated from his restful state, but he wanted to finish his page on Setsuna before anything else. The orange eyed teen rather enjoyed writing about the various things he knew about a quirk, a person, and their weaknesses.
The teen felt rather accomplished after yesterday, seeming to be on good terms with at least one of the recommended students. The other was another story, but then again Todoroki didn't seem to enjoy company much to start with. After the meal he went back to his own room without a word and without thanks, the boy was aloof that was for sure. He held a subtle arrogance about him, but that was then.
Izuku was interrupted from his notes by a large crash, it likely was another student. So far today several newcomers made it into the dorms, he'd been rudely awakened to the fact when a floating pair of clothes opened his door suddenly before quickly slamming it after not only noticing she was in the wrong section of the building but that Izuku had been shirtless at the time, her female voice could be heard screaming apologies as the footsteps became quieter and quieter.
Back to the present, Izuku quickly made his way to the doorknob and opened his door. This time with a shirt on, he'd learned his lesson from before.
Looking around the corner, he saw a large bodied boy keeled over a few feet away. A large animal cage was on it's side, opened, and books were sprawled across the ground.
Izuku quickly came over to the keeled over teen as he rubbed his head from the fwll, said teen looked red in the face, whether it be for embarrassment or exertion. The large bodied boy quickly regained his bearings before looking right up at the reptilian teen, right into his blazing orange eyes. The other large boy turned pale, his odd angular head losing color as he practically cowered in Izuku's presence.
The reptilian teen noticed white in the corner of his eye, a small animal leapt from the sprawled out cage and sniffed the air around itself. It was immensely tiny and white as snow, the fluffy delicate creature could fit in a single of his hands. What was this thing? A bunny or rabbit, something like that.
A single clawed finger reached out towards the animal, the giant form of the orange eyed teen looming over the small bunny like a predator before his prey as the teen behind him looked on in horror, sputtering as he tried to reorient himself.
The claw stopped a few inches away from the animal, it looked around curiously for a moment before hopping right up to said claw and smelling it.
The orange eyed teen looked on with a smile as the small creature got attuned to his scent, the angular headed teen had a face of shock as he witnessed what was happening.
Izuku softly scooped up the bunny in his large hand before slowly placing it back in it's cage, locking it again and setting it up right as he did so.
He brought the cage back to its owner, careful not to shake it too much.
The boy shook slightly and looked at the orange eyed teen in a daze as he set the cage down next to him, almost like he was trying to comprehend what was happening.
Izuku gestured to the books spewed about the floor, the oddly shaped teen quickly shook his head and got to collecting all the books that had fallen out of his bag.
After he returned all the books to his container, Izuku returned the cage to him. He gave a small thumbs up before walking away towards the elevator, the oddly shaped boy watched on in bemusement as the elevator door slowly slid shut.
"Did that really just happen…" he whispered softly into the cage, confused.
"But he was big and scary little one, you didn't feel the urge to run away?" The squeaky voice sounded out in his lonesome.
He rubbed the back of his head, "Right hehe…"
It was almost time, today was the day the rest of the class 1A students would be moving in. Classes officially started tomorrow, this would be his first time in memory attending a school. The teen felt like the prospect should terrify him, but Setsuna surely could help guide him along. If not any of the other students.
As soon as the elevator door opened, the reptilian teen was eye to eye with a masked boy his exact height and with a similar build. He had multiple appendages connected to his arm and dull gray hair, eyes lit up in small surprise.
"Ah, hello." His deep and calm voice greeted Izuku, holding his hand out cordially; the gray haired teen had a cool demeanour about him.
Izuku took his hand and shared a strong handshake, the two teens stood tall and confident.
"My name is Mezo Shoji, a pleasure to meet you. You have quite the strong handshake my acquaintance, what's your name?" The green haired teen shook his head and pointed to his mouth.
"You can't speak? My apologies." The Multi-armed boy apologized for any offense, Izuku waved it off, no big deal.
"Anyways, I must find my room. If you'll excuse me." Izuku nodded and walked out of the elevator, hearing the door slide behind him.
The reptilian teen quickly walked through the hall towards the main room, preparing to greet his mate after a weeks long wait.
He scanned the room to see a multitude of students talking, Yaoyorozu included. Todoroki was nowhere to be found though.
"It's you!" He was jolted from his observation as a familiar voice entered his hearing, the orange eyed teen quickly turned to look at the source of the voice.
"I see you've been accepted then, fantastic to know my realization was correct. I presume you're Midoriya Izuku then? Congratulations on the number one spot, you were quite the force to be reckoned with on that battlefield from what I observed." A flurry of words shot out of the newcomers mouth as the reptilian teen squinted.
His eyes lit up in recognition, it was the blue haired bespectacled boy from the entrance exams. His newfound friendly tone of voice didn't suit any image he portrayed himself as before much to the reptile's confusion.
"Ahh yes, I have not yet introduced myself. My name is Iida Tenya, and first and foremost I must apologize." He bowed at a 90 angle to accentuate that point.
"You see," He clenched his fist after becoming upright again, "I misjudged you and your companion back then, I saw exactly what you did and thought to myself 'If it were a real scenario, I'd surely have helped' only to realize the farce at the last second. Truly you two were superior candidates for the hero course since you both needlessly risked your spots and realized the hidden segment of the exam, all I can ask of you now is forgiveness for my rash judgments!" His hands jetted to his side as he commenced another fully 90 bow.
Izuku stood there with his head tilted, the oddness of the boy in front of him causing him to awkwardly smile.
Izuku shook his head, he had to go see if she was here.
He clapped the boy's shoulders twice before walking towards the exit, his casual gait leaving small footfalls as the bespectacled teen stood, shaking.
The blue haired teen raised his enclosed hand and made an ugly face, "Forgiven so easily! Truly he has the heart of a true hero!"
"Hey man… You alright?"
The cool near spring air flowed against his light gray skin, the sun was still high in the sky. The nuclear-incarnate always found comfort in the sun, it's unmistakable warmth did more than physically warm people. It warmed their hearts too.
Orange eyes scanned across the immense campus, they noticed students of all shapes and sizes hanging around and going inside their respective dorms, more and more first years arrived, the subtle background noise of conversations filtered through his hearing.
Izuku couldn't spot Setsuna anywhere, it seems she hasn't arrived just yet. The teen sighed before walking towards the wide dirt trail, if she wasn't here yet he might as well get his blood pumping while he waited. The trail looped around the campus, over a 3 mile distance. He was free to run and jump and do whatever he pleased with the full ability of his power, the green haired teen smirked.
He shot off, dust trailing behind him as his heart pumped.
A snarling teen watched as Izuku created a dust cloud from his movements. Orange electricity crackling on his arms while his eyes trembled with rage.
"Dorms 1A huh..." She sighed in frustration, she had a little while before she reached the dorm area as she was directed. The campus was even larger than she remembered it being, several dozen kilometers of land all owned by a single institution.
"Actually… since quirks are allowed on campus here." She grinned, the lack of a quirk monitoring wristband sunk in. She'd never have to wear it again, she was free.
Setsuna recalled how it felt to use her power during the entrance exams, the exhilaration, the freedom. While her activation before was fueled by adrenaline and instinct, she had to coerce her power out.
After splitting apart slowly and floating in place for a second, she quickly flew up high enough to see the entire campus from a bird eyes view. After some effort, she formed her head while keeping high up in the air, giving her full vision.
"The issue with splitting my body fully is that my vision becomes fractured, meaning my eyesight isn't the greatest when I do it like that…" She mused as the disembodied mass followed her disembodied head closely. She couldn't move her head independently of the split pieces yet, said pieces would simply follow her wherever she went. It was a trade off, the more she split her body the less air drag and resistance there would be, but simultaneously there would be less precision and control.
"There it is, just gotta fly over there. You're pretty high up Setsuna, so don't fall..." Her disembodied head nodded, the wind glided through her hair as she floated at a steady pace towards the buildings in the distance. Before her quirk was activated off instinct and adrenaline, she needed to call upon it purposely and tactfully now…
"Ah screw it!" The green eyed teen smirked before telekinetically launching herself towards the dorm building throwing caution to the wind as her mouth split into a toothy grin once more, wind slammed against her face blowing her hair back, green eyes watered. Everytime she coerced her quirk out, it became easier and easier to call upon it.
Individual body parts began almost coalescing together, replicating her body structure while still being disconnected. It was everything like she remembered, the sense of freedom, the adrenaline of flight, the exuberation of power. It all came flooding back.
As she closed in on the dorms, Setsuna noticed a crowd of students surrounding two lone figures. Her eyes widened in recognition, and then anger when she landed suddenly and silently.
"Are they going to fight…?"
"It's only the first day..."
"Hmm, not a very good idea, ribbit."
"What's with those bandages?"
The two figures at the center of the crowd were amidst a staredown, both their eyes narrowed as tensions rose.
"It's not fucking possible..." The orange eyed teen looked on as he grit his teeth, he remembered the figure in front of him. The red eyed teen from before the entrance exams, he had those same bandages on his face from before and wore a dark tank top. The crowd of 1A students circled the two as their staredown continued, the chatter filtered through as background noise for both teens.
"It's just not fucking possible!" The red eyed teen grabbed his shirt and did his best to hoist him up to no success, the height difference showed.
"How are you here? I saw it all with my own eyes goddamnit! I saw everything fall to fucking ruin in an instant! How the hell did you survive!" The red eyed teen began shaking the reptile in a fury, his shadowed face betraying no emotion as he barely budged, enraging the angry blond furthur. How did things become so backwards? As children this boy before him would shake like a leaf at the mere sight of his anger directed at him, yet nothing…
It was infuriating.
Izuku was at a loss, why did the teen before him look so familiar? He recalled familiarity in him before the exams but that was suppressed by his anger then, who was he?
"Tell me how! Fucking TELL ME YOU SURVIVED YOU DAMN DEKU!"
Orange eyes widen.
"I'm so sorry Izuku!"
"You're amazing Kacchan!"
"You're useless."
"With a smile!"
"I'm sorry."
"He always wins!"
"You'd best give it up."
...
"Deku."
"GET YOUR DAMN HANDS OFF HIM!"
The orange eyed teen was shocked from his relapse, a predatory roar sounded out, afterwards he watched as a small fist crashed straight into the aggressor's jaw with immense ferocity, a crack being heard as if lightning struck. Izuku watched in slow motion as the other boy's head snapped to the side, blood spewing from his mouth as he was sent sprawling across the grass.
The crowd gasped at the newcomer, Setsuna stood with her arm outstretched and trembling in anger. A venomous sneer on her face, her green eyes roared with intensity.
The red eyed teen seethed from his position on the floor, his eyes burning with anger as he spat out blood. The crowd around them gasped collectively, a handful of students frowned at the growing tensions.
"Just couldn't stay away huh sparky?" Setsuna snarled, standing protectively in front of the green haired boy who'd collapsed to his knees in a trance.
He snarled in return as he got up, "You hiding behind your girlfriend again, Deku! What happened to being top spot?" Red eyes burned hotly as the ashen blond realized the reptile wasn't hearing him.
"You just knocked you on your ass bud, if I can do that imagine what he could do." She flashed a toothy smirk, "Got something to say to that?"
"You caught me off guard, I'll give you that." Orange lighting coiled around his arm as a combination of smirk and sneer appeared on his visage. "But it won't work a second time."
Kacchan...
Before she could reply with a witty remark, a message filtered through her brain. Setsuna looked back to the kneeling teen with a bemused expression, "Kacchan?" At the sound of the name, the aggressive teen's visage shattered before regaining a small frown.
"So he does remember then, how else would you know that damned bastardized name, yet he won't speak a fucking word." Tsk.
Suddenly a red haired decently built teen emerged from the surrounding crowd apprehensively, he stood between the two parties with a shaky smile and stance.
"Alright alright, break it up guys it's only our first day here after all, we all want to be heroes right?" Nervous laughter followed as the newcomer attempted to break the tension, but the orange eyed teen was somewhere else.
Izuku remembered, he remembered his intense admiration for the teen in front of the pair, he remembered things changing as the reptilian teen didn't show signs of a quirk, he remembered his old moniker, old name. He remembered the feeling of uselessness, inferiority. It all came flooding back, he needed to think.
More importantly, he found a link to his past. This was trouble.
The orange eyed teen stood up after a moment of tense silence, his form towering over the green haired female who stood at his defense. He put a hand on her shoulder, Setsuna began to relax but still stood at the ready to jump in and defend him. His heart warmed at the thought but he couldn't stay here, he needed time.
Grabbing her hand, the reptilian teen drug her away with little resistance, the crowd parted as the pair made their way towards the dorms. The angry blond roared, attempting to lunge at them, he was stopped in his tracks by well built arms.
"Come on man let it go, arentcha trying to be a hero? This isn't very manly at all." The red haired teen held back the snarling boy barely as he grimaced, "Let go of me you spiky bastard! I'll kill you!" Orange lightning crackled around his right as he directed it straight towards the spiky haired boy behind him, the furious arc of power coiling around his arm.
Orange crackling energy lit up his face as his visage morphed into shock and fear at the abrupt quirk usage, the hand got closer and closer…
Nothing.
"Good grief…" A tall figure spoke as he split the crowd apart, his hair floating as eyes burned red giving him a rather intimidating appearance.
The hand trembled as it slowly retreated from the still in shock teen, his eyes trembling as if he'd nearly been killed and was in a state of shock. Aizawa walked towards the two boys with a displeased frown on his face. The angry blond snarled, pushing the other boy away from him.
"It's not even been a few hours, and you've already managed to get into trouble?" The man massaged his temple.
"Bakugo Katsuki; five school suspensions, all based on assault on other students, three quirk usage arrests across your childhood. You've been in and out of the foster system for and I quote "Volatile behaviour", any of this ring a bell? You're lucky our school policy has become more lax in recent years." He listed offense after offense as the now named Katsuki shut his eyes and shook rigidly as the red haired teen backed off, he couldn't deny anything. "You're quick to use your quirk, I wonder why that is…" the allusion wasn't lost.
"So, What makes you think this is acceptable behaviour?" The man continued, Katsuki looked down to see trembling hands.
"Why you of all people were accepted into this establishment only Nezu knows, but if I expel you or not right here and now? That's up to me, and if you had no potential I'd have expelled you on the spot. Objectively, you have a modicum of potential. However..." His quirk ceased as his hair and eyes returned to normal.
"Don't let it happen again, the next time you pull a stunt like this I'll have you expelled and sent packing back to whatever foster home you came from without so much as blinking, all it takes is a word for me to revoke your status as a student." The absolute tone of voice he used left no room for argument.
Aizawa turned to the rest of the students, "Now, the rest of you, finish moving in and do it quickly. You all have a long day tomorrow, you'll need all the rest you can get." Aizawa left, the still shaking teen was standing alone while the crowd dispersed back into the dorms.
"So intense… Was he our homeroom teacher? Never seen him before." Idle chatter could be heard as the 1A students filtered back inside. "He sure had a handle on that trouble maker, seriously how did he even get in?"
"He did get 2nd place, ribbit."
Katsuki couldn't process it all, after he saw he'd been beaten in the practical by a decent amount, he barely realized who exactly it was who beat him. The name Midoriya Izuku, it sent memories flowing back of simpler days. His old friend he thought was quirkless since he didn't show any signs of power, clearly he was wrong since he slammed his score and pummeled it into the fucking dirt. He assumed like everyone else he'd simply been eradicated by… by the beast.
Katsuki clenched his fists as the last of the crowd returned to the dorms, one red haired teen stayed to linger for a few seconds with a concerned look, before he too made his way back inside.
"Damnit… damnit damnit damnit! Why can't I act normal for one fucking second!" He punched himself in the face and sent himself sprawling onto the grass for a second time, drawing more blood as he lay on the ground, only the quiet of soft wind to keep him company.
He glared at the clouds as he lay in the soft grass, face calming, the boy was in his lonesome. Looking to his hand, he realized he could've very easily hurt somebody and ruined his chances from the start. The single raised hand began shaking as it closed and reigned back to his side. He let anger control his actions, again.
Still… Something wasn't right.
Izuku quickly slammed the door shut behind him while Setsuna sat on his bed with a concerned expression on her face, the tall teen quickly sat down on the swivel chair before propping up his head with his clawed hands, he massaged his temple as he stared holes in the wooden desk.
"Goji… Izuku?" No response.
"Izuku?" She got up and made her way over, bending over to grab his hand in her own, the reptilian teen held out a single finger.
Wait
"Izuku… You have to tell me what that was, It's clearly affecting you and sparky definitely recognised you from somewhere." No response, she frowned.
"Izuku, I'm being seri-" He roughly grabbed her shoulders in a flash of speed, he held up a single shaky finger to signal her that she needed to wait, with bright orange eyes burning in slight frustration, he sat back down and resumed his silent musing. She gulped, he'd never been that rough outside of spars. Something shook him, bad.
She backed off a bit, "Sorry for being pushy, I know whatever that jerk said made you shake up like this. But Y'know I'm here for you, you can tell me anything." She gave him a sweet smile as orange eyes met green, the reptilian teen let out a sigh of relief as tension seeped out from his muscles.
Trepidation, he'd suddenly regained a new handful of memories and wasn't sure how to process it. Wasn't sure how she'd process it, it shattered his usual casual ease with how he carried himself most of the time.
She would have none of that.
"Don't be afraid of sharing your emotions, I love it when you tell me how you feel." She cooed sweetly, taking on a different approach.
The reptilian nods, sighing, he takes Setsuna's hands in his own. The more they touch the easier it is to convey through their mental link, a technique only used a handful of times.
A blond boy with an explosion quirk, preschool, arrogance, change. The flowing image of a long past childhood seeped through the mental bond as a flood of memories coalesced in her mind.
In a mere instant, Setsuna was jolted with memories and feelings of the blond teen from before. She began to digest the information, her eyes widening in shock, anger, and then worry.
"Wait…" She sat down on the bed again. "You knew him, that's why you called him Kacchan earlier. Of course you knew him, he wouldn't call you Deku if you didn't… And you're the furthest thing from useless, I hope you know that." He nodded, joining her on his bed to lay down next to her. "He didn't seem to know, I think the fact that you're his old friend he thought got killed blinded him..." she trailed off realizing it wasn't improving the mood, Izuku just remembered a part of his past as a small child. The sudden influx would've done anyone down like this.
"Hey, It's gonna be alright ok?" She massaged his hand as she sat next to him. "We'll figure it out, that jerk can't get away with getting on you like that either way."
He nodded, staring at the ceiling deep in thought.
Setsuna pursed her lips, she couldn't stand watching him become expressionless like this. Like he was trapped in his own bubble of self loathing and couldn't come out, outwards appearance betraying nothing about the immensity of his struggles.
She quickly scanned around the room, looking for something, anything, to break the tension. Her eyes quickly settled on an opened notebook, the drawing inside immediately attracting her attention.
She sat up and took hold of the notebook, her eyes widened a tad before giggling. Setsuna deciphered the page, she swore her figure was exaggerated but she did notice in the mirror sometimes that her hips and thighs got wider and more toned since she began training.
Laying next to Izuku, she held the notebook open and cleared her throat. "I can't believe you think I look like that, it's super flattering in all honesty." Izuku was shocked from his trance as he realized Setsuna was looking through his recently started notebook.
She batted his hand away as she held the now shut notebook close to her chest, the reptilian teen pouted. "Y'know, before I always felt like I was too skinny and frail. I was never well endowed, never really had meat on my bones if you get what I'm saying…" She trailed off.
"Momma always told me that I'd catch up one day, but I like to think the time we spent training really helped me out. Dontcha think?" Izuku nodded, but he'd always found her beautiful. Her increased muscle mass and definition only bolstered his view, not to say the natural female maturation process didn't have a part in that.
"I love it, but you never told me you could draw." She turned to lay on her side, "I wonder what else you've been hiding from me~." She spoke in a sultry voice, Izuku rolled his eyes. He knew what was coming.
"I guess I'll just have to tickle it out of you then!" He groaned as she shot up and pinned him down.
She began assaulting every nook and cranny of his body, to no success.
Setsuna...
"No, there has to be ONE spot I'm missing, no one is one hundred percent immune." She was determined to find it, the orange eyed teen groaned from his position laying down, he was at her mercy.
"Ok! ok, you're not ticklish." She was flat on her back in a quick reversal, Izuku lorded over her body with an unamused face as she tried to squirm away from his grasp. She'd spent over 5 minutes just trying to get a reaction out of him in any way possible, as a result she was now red in the face.
Her chest heaved up and down from her position entrapped by his arms, his gaze shifted, Izuku noticed the odd look in her eyes. Although it wasn't quite odd anymore, he knew the meaning behind it. The reptilian teen finally noticed what she was wearing, a black crop top showed off her practically sculpted abs and thin waistline. Setsuna's chest rose up and down as his eyes trailed down her body, toned thighs and wide hips accentuated by the tight shorts she wore, he wondered if it was intentional. Izuku felt something rise within him as she squirmed and hotly tried for breath under his grip.
The orange eyed teen shook his head before sighing, his face morphing into a small smile, orange eyes meeting green. The state of his companion left butterflies in his stomach, orange light came tattering from the window blinds and lit up her face with a soft glow. Izuku's face was shadowed in darkness, only his fiery orange eyes penetrating it, like two suns.
She pursed her lip, "Just gonna stare at me all day or- mmph!" Izuku quickly leaned down to capture her mouth with his own, shutting down any conversation while Setsuna eased into it. Shutting her eyes, a roughly textured hand takes her own softer delicate one and holds it gently to the side.
Unheard and unknown desire finally surfaced in the orange eyed teen, urges surged into him as he saw her body lay beneath. Before it had all been derived from care and love, now from an intense desire.
Slightly clawed hands massaged the delicate palm of his lover as their mouths moved against each other with the energy of repressed desire, she tugged gently at his sleeve while the reptilian teen hovered over her.
Releasing a soft moan as their embrace deepened, the green haired girl brought herself upwards in a quick motion. Now straddling the reptilian teen, they broke apart for one moment to catch their breath. Setsuna's mouth hung open, her heavy pants highlighting columns of sharpened teeth. Cheeks burned red as she held onto Izuku, using his body to support hers.
"Are you quite alright? Jirou?" The girl in question was beet red from head to toe.
"Yep! Just dandy!" she yelped as she retracted her earlobe jacks from the wall silently, her eyes a ghastly white.
"How's that…" She said between breaths, "for taking your mind off things?" A low rumbling noise sounded out as his chest vibrated against hers, Izuku leaned back for a moment, he sighed heavily as tension rolled off his muscles and weight lifted from his shoulders.
His body began trembling, his eyes moisturizing to a slight degree. She was finally here, Izuku didn't realize how much he missed her until he had her again. Texting didn't suffice.
Suddenly embracing her in a hug, Izuku wrapped his arms tightly around her neck. His large arms smothering the girl as her eyes widened in surprise, she slowly wrapped her own arms around him and returned the embrace. Her soft small smile and glistening eyes sparkling, facial features become shadowed as she snuggled fully into the embrace basking in his natural warmth. The scent of ocean water accompanied him, she sighed softly into his arm while he held her. The lull of his heartbeat casting her into a calm daze.
Love...
Her eyes widened to the smallest degree before a smile curled onto her lips, "I know…"
Knock knock, the noise was heard by the two teens as they looked to the door. Setsuna quickly untangled herself from the other green haired teen before making her way towards the sound, "I'll get it, just sit back and relax for a sec."
Setsuna put her ears to the door, she heard quiet bickering on the other side. Two male voices.
"You sure this is the right room? Plus they might be… Busy?"
"Yes I am sure, the quiet one; Koda gave me the directions. And I assure you, if they wish to be left alone they simply won't answe-"
Setsuna slowly opened the door, interrupting any conversation at the other side, the two males standing still as the door creaked open.
The taller one was the first to recover, although the mask he wore covered any facial expressions. "Ah hello, I'm Mezo Shoji. You must be the girl who defended... Midoriya I believe his name was?"
The other teen jumped into the fray after a momentary silence as well, "And I'm Kirishima Ejiro! Super manly how you stood up to that guy from before, you have some mean power!"
She was still mentally exhausted from before, but she made a friendly smile at the two all the same. "Hey, what's up guys. I'm Tokage Setsuna but since we're all going to be knowing each other for a while just call me Setsuna, k?" Her toothy smile lit up her face with a charming visage.
The red haired teen clenched his fist, "That's so manly..." He muttered.
"Greetings then, Setsuna. Have you finished moving in yet?" The gray haired teen spoke calmly, not knowing the bombshell he just dropped.
Her visage cracked into a million pieces as his question echoed repeatedly. The toothy smile she wore morphed into horror as she realized, she forgot to move in her items. And it was already getting darker outside.
"Judging by your expression, you haven't." A strained chuckle.
"Yeah… I totally forgot about the moving truck when I saw that bully Bakugo messing with Izuku here, damn." She cursed as the red haired teen suddenly shifted his expression to a more somber one.
"What's the deal between them?" Ejiro questioned, his frown evident.
She shrugged, "Childhood friends, the rest is personal. Something happened between the two, let's leave it at that." He nodded.
"I know he's a bully type for sure, but behind all that anger I saw suffering in his eyes." The girl raised a brow at that statement, "I won't pry but something makes me want to help him out, it can't be healthy to hold in all that rage." Setsuna imperceptibly narrowed her eyes before relenting, "Do what you want, as far as I can tell my Izuku here holds no grudges at all."
"Anyways." The large bodied teen spoke up, "The reason we came here was because there is a gathering in the main hall, the pink girl Ashido Mina asked us to get you two."
"Izuku could go hang with you guys, but me? I got to put away my stuff, it's a lot of stuff Y'know." She sighed, she likely wouldn't be done until the night crept in fully.
"Hehe, don't worry about that!" The red haired teen spoke up, his energy was infectious. "Us and a few other guys have been helping out with the moving in and all, we can handle your stuff no prob!" Setsuna's eyes widened as her mouth opened in shock, it finally set in.
This was a new start, many of her peers were meeting her without any preconceived notion. Most were from different parts of the country, some weren't even affected by the incident. Some held little hate in their hearts, some.
Her shocked visage morphed into a small smile, the two boys looked on confused. "Thanks, you guys are awesome." The pure honesty of her voice caused the grey haired teen to look away and the shorter boy to chuckle and rub the back of his head.
This was a start, for new friends and new beginnings.
It took a little coercion, but Izuku eventually agreed to come down from his room. They stood side by side as the elevator opened up, Setsuna was giddy at the prospect of meeting all these new people. Izuku was more reserved but felt a similar excitement, he'd never really been a part of a large social group before but Setsuna always told him to be open to new things.
"Hey look who it is, how are you two doin?" A bubbly voice sounded out as they approached the main room.
A pink skinned female at their front, a large grin appearing across her face, fluffy pink hair bouncing while she practically vibrated with energy. She had horns and a pure black sclera, a very unique look.
Setsuna returned her grin with her own toothy version of it, her sharp teeth not phasing the other girl in the slightest. "Hey there, Ashido Mina right? Nice to meetcha." Ashido was only an inch or two shorter than Setsuna, Izuku slightly shuddered as he met someone with similar if not greater energy than Setsuna herself had.
"Yep that's me!" Her energy radiated off like a supernova onto the pair, Izuku couldn't help but find her endearing.
Black eyes became more concentrated suddenly, her voice growing quieter as they stood in the hall. Izuku could feel her eyes on him, empathy.
"Is he feeling alright? I know what it's like to deal with bullies, we all saw him collapse on the floor." A complete stranger was worried for him? Izuku's heart warmed, he appreciated it.
"Him? Oh yeah, don't worry about it, he's as tough as they come. I'd be more worried about Bakugo if I was you, to be perfectly honest." She shrugged.
"Speaking of that." Her cheery disposition returned as she took Setsuna's hands in her own.
"Girl you were so cool with that sucker punch! Of course I would've cheered for you but I was afraid of that psycho coming after me in my sleep." She giggled.
"I knew we had to be friends right then and there when I saw you come to his defense and lay down a whoopin like nobody's business."
"Sure!" Their eyes closed as they smiled at each other. "My name's Tokage Setsuna but you can call me Setsuna, by the way I really love your hair, it kinda reminds me of him when he lets it grow out a little." She giggled pointing to the orange eyed teen, Izuku frowned as the pink girl followed suit in tune with Setsuna.
"Alright Setsuna it is! In that case you can call me Mina kay? And I love how you two match, green and green. Super cute." Was it normal for females to compliment each other unprompted.
The pink skinned girl suddenly looked at the taller teen, "What's your name by the way? I remember the blond guy Bakugo, he called you Deku or something?" Setsuna frowned.
"Ignore Bakugo, his actual name is Midoriya Izuku, cute right? I sometimes call him Goji, a Nickname I made up for him a while ago." Izuku looked perplexed, just now noticing that she called him Goji less often than before.
Mina looked around before leaning in close, the casual sound of chatter down the hall could be heard, "So… You two dating then?" She almost whispered imperceptibly.
"Yep! Well sort of, it sounds a little vain but I think dating is underselling it." Izuku stiffened as she latched around his waist tightly, he wasn't quite sure how he felt about affection in front of other people like this.
"He loves me with all his heart, right babe?" The pet name spawned a wobbly smile on his not so privy face. Still, he nodded and inwardly groaned. He knew she was trying to make him uncomfortable, it was cool when they were anonymous, but in front of people they'd know for the next three years and more it was slightly different.
"Oh my gosh, you guys are adorable." It was a statement. "I totally pegged Midoriya for a hardass or silent badass type, but he's actually really shy huh?" Was he shy? Reserved more than most sure but shy?
"He really is a silent badass, he's a mute after all, but he can kick serious ass. I still speak for him, mostly" Setsuna released her grip on his waist.
"Aww that's cool, you're like a translator then?" They chatted for what seemed like forever but was only a few minutes, how did females converse so easily? The reptilian teen pondered to himself. "Well anyways, you guys should come hang out with us. Everyone is super cool, except for Bakugo and maybe that Tokoyami guy."
"Sure, been wanting to see if this one girl was here anyways. Alright, lead the way."
"Right!"
"Hey everyone! Look who's here!"
Dozens of eyes on them, Izuku gulped. He immediately noticed the many sections of students in their own groups, some watching television, some listening to music, some eating, some participating in idle chatter.
Several of the other students got up to greet them, leaving their own respective corners of the main room.
His eyes glazed around the room to the many fellow residents but one caught his eyes, Izuku was frozen still by the glare of another green haired girl. Her blank expression not giving leeway for her intense eyes, the outside world grayed and sound muted as her intense gaze penetrated his. A combination of fear and anger in her eyes, why?
His face was a stone wall, his slight imperceptible frown stood in contrast against the outside world and conversation. Some of the conversation directed at him, he didn't even notice the slow moving hand drifting towards him.
Izuku was shocked from his trance as a male figure placed a hand on his shoulder. "You alright man? You looked kinda lost there." A tall boy with an odd smile spoke to him, he had an odd growth from his elbows and seemed friendly.
"Don't worry bout him, he spaces out sometimes." Orange eyes faded back into focus as he shook his head.
The now aware Izuku watched as Setsuna raised her voice so everyone could hear her, she looked completely confident at the center of the room as the attention shifted onto her.
"Listen up you guys! Izuku here can't speak so if you got anything specific to ask him just try to ask me instead, I'll speak for him as much as I can! Thank you!"
Izuku smiled, she became the center of attention in the room almost as easily as she made his heart flutter, she really helped him a lot didn't she. His admiration ceased as his eyes shot back to the girl from before, she was chatting idly with a questioning finger against her mouth.
Odd, he frowned.
"Hey Midoriya, come hang with us!" An orange haired teen with a single black lightning bolt jetting into a pattern on his head gestured for him to come over, the other teens behind him following suit.
"Even if you can't talk, doesn't mean we should exclude you. Come on over, we all cool." Izuku smiled, was it really that simple? He sat down on the couch they were lounging on, the television blaring in the background.
A heavy sigh, a figure stood up and began walking away. "I must take my leave." A dark teen with an avian-like head structure spoke as he retreated from the group, Izuku frowned.
The lankey teen from before put a hand on the short boy's shoulder, "Hey you leaving already? The night's barely begu-."
Batting the hand away, the dark teen frowned. His eyes jetted to the reptilian teen for a split second before turning back to the lanky teen, "Don't impede me, fool." Sero backed off, slightly put off by the insult as his grin strained.
The rest of the group became silent, the tension rising as he looked on in a silent anger. The dark teen returned to his gait with a grunt, his form disappearing down the hallway.
"Wonder what set em off… anyways as I was saying about hypertrophy..." An extremely well built teen with filled out lips trailed off into the background as Izuku kept his eyes glued to the hallway, was his presence turning these people away? He frowned.
"Hey Midoriya..." The full lipped teen spoke to him before frowning, "Wait, we haven't introduced ourselves yet."
"Oh yeah, awkward…"
"I'm Sato Rikidio." The full lipped teen flexed his largely sized bicep with a smirk.
"Kaminari Denki, at your service." The exaggerated teen crossed his arms and held his head high with closed eyes.
"Hanta Sero, I'm the funny one." A toothy grin cracked on his visage before being interrupted by a punch to the shoulder.
"Hey, I'm Ojiro Mashirao." The teen was average looking, but had a second appendage. "I notice you have a tail too huh?" He smiled.
Izuku nodded, he wondered what Todoroki was up to. He wasn't here with the rest of the guys, maybe he truly was a loner.
"Now that that's over with, I got a question for ya Midoriya…" The contours of Sato's face had a sharp edge to it, his eyes becoming intense as the air got heavier.
"What's your max bench and squat."
The dead serious tone of the question… Izuku tilted his head and warbled confusedly. "Huh, what is it?" Izuku knew what a squat meant, but not in the context the well built teen used.
"Oh yeah, I can get you a notebook." He misunderstood.
"I think he doesn't even know what you mean, Sato." The other tailed teen spoke with a small sweat drop.
"No way, look at him." They did, his muscular arms were out in the open. "He's shredded." He was wearing a black T-shirt that clung against his frame, he still had a lost expression.
It took a few moments of silence before the buff teen came to the realization, this teen before him had never touched a dumbbell barbell or squat rack in his life.
"No way in hell he's that big without touching a bench..." He slowly sat back down and sunk into the couch, his hands trembling. "No way…"
The full lipped teen looked like he was about to have a mental breakdown as he pulled at his hair and muttered obscenities. The other teens slapped him on the back while laughing, Izuku attempted to stifle laughter to no avail even if he didn't quite get the punch line. The full lipped teen cracked a grin after a moment, his exaggerated shock quickly falling away as he slid over, putting an arm around the reptile's shoulder.
He shot his left hand forward, "I can see it now, if you're this shredded already then just imagine how you could look if you learned to pump properly, UA for sure has a gym."
"You see I like to describe the pump like the second greatest feeling one could achieve, only short of activating your quirk…" The buff teen trailed off into the background yet again.
The energy of their group was infectious. He was glad he didn't seclude himself in his room, socialization was amazing. Male camaraderie was a greater thing than he could ever imagine. It'd only been a few hours but already, these guys accepted him like it was nothing.
Was this what it felt like to belong?
When Setsuna began mingling with the other girls, she quickly realized how mentally exhausting it was to answer question after question about her "Totally badass and tall boyfriend."
"So, how did you meet him?" The group of girls, plus one extravagant blond sat at the other side of the main room. All their attention was on the green eyed female as they awaited for her answer with bated breath.
"Well, it's sorta personal but when I first met him, he was actually homeless." Yaoyorozu gasped softly at the revelation, frowning as she remembered her first meeting with the boy
"Midoriya was homeless? Oh dear how terrible…" Her eyebrows furrowed, she wasn't well versed on the concept. "Did he suffer much?"
"Nah, he's a survivor. He was raised off the mainland so he was kind of lost when I first met him, an islander in the city is bound to be confused y'know." She was about to continue, "When I first saw him-"
A slam shocked her from the retelling, all eyes shifted to a petite figure with a shadowed face, her hands against the table.
The purple haired girl looked frustrated, "Are we really just going to talk about her boyfriend all night? There are hundreds of more interesting topics, right?" She suddenly looked red in the face and looked away, embarrassed by her outburst.
"What's your problem?" Setsuna raised a brow and smiled slyly, wondering if she was embarrassed about the topic.
She began sweating and her face burned, Jirou remembered what she heard. "It's just too gossipy for me ok..." She quickly rebuked, trying to hide her actual reason as she touched her earjacks.
The pink haired girl spoke up as well with slightly less reservation, "If you don't like the topic then go talk somewhere else or something, don't hafta get upset about it."
Jirou opened her mouth before closing it, eyes drifting downwards slowly as her face became syadowed. Mina quickly realized her mistake, Yaoyorozu gave the horned girl a small frown before attempting to comfort the shorter female. The purple haired girl batted her hand away and left, Setsuna frowned and sighed at her retreating form.
She did not miss this part.
"Darn it! I didn't actually want to make her upset!" The pink skinned girl shoved her face into a cushion and groaned.
"She does have a point though, ribbit. Midoriya may have an interesting backstory but you two did derail the conversation we were having before." A short girl with frog-like attributes spoke her mind.
Setsuna was about to speak in her defense before she caught something from the corner of her eye, her eyes widened in horror at the sight of Kirishima struggling with a triple stack of boxes with "dinosaur" written in bold letters on the side, she knew exactly what was inside those specific boxes.
Jumping to her feet she quickly hopped over to the struggling teen, "Hey hey careful! Some of those antique pieces are fragile!" She frantically darted around the teen while he struggled to balance the three boxes.
"What… The hell is in this." His face burned red as he exerted himself. "Dinosaur figures of course, what else?" She stated obviously as the red haired boy gasped for breath, "Either I'm slacking at the gym, or this is really heavy!"
The masked teen came from behind and took the 3 boxes in his right hands with an almost casual ease. Shoji stared down towards the shorter boy with an amused expression. "I thought you said you had it." His masked face hid it but Setsuna could tell he had a small smirk on his face.
Kirishima pouted, "Hey man not all of us have three times the normal amount of arms, cut me some slack." The multi-armed male chuckled softly.
Setsuna let out the breath she was holding as the two teens carried what was likely her last box of personal items, she should've had Izuku help in all honesty.
"Hey, Yaoyorozu right?" Kaminari slid next to her as she walked towards the female dorms in order to find her newfound friend. Turning around, the raven haired female turned at the unexpected voice.
"Oh, what is it? Kaminari I believe? Do you require assistance?" He laughed softly at her mothering tone.
"Sort of, I heard you could create stuff with your quirk. Pretty sweet I'd say, you think you could help me and the other guys out with something? Shouldn't be a problem for a recommended student like you." His dazzling smile along with the praise made the raven haired girl blush slightly, "Well I don't see why not, we are all friends here now after all. What do you desire?" Kaminari led her back towards the main room.
The purple haired girl stood behind a wall in the hallway and sighed softly, "Oh Yaoyorozu, you have a lot to learn." She began to hug her knees as she sat down against the wall. "Stupid flirts."
"Alright!" The group of boys were getting pumped up.
The raven haired female returned with a tall table with soft pads and handlebars, she set it down in the center of the room.
"You all plan on competing against one another in an arm wrestling match of all things?" Yaoyorozu questioned the group with a slight look of disgust, they all nodded excitedly.
Izuku and the group of boys played rock paper scissors to decide who'd go first, the last two standing were him and the average looking teen much to his surprise. The other tailed boy looked quite nervous as he realized who he was going against but resolved either way, "I don't think I can win this but I'll give it my all!" Nice fire in his eyes, Izuku felt excited.
The two tailed teens squared up on opposite sides of the table and grabbed onto the handle bars, their arms extended and they locked into position. The reptilian teens' large hand dwarfing Ojiro's, the tailed boy gulped but remained steadfast.
"Alright, on a count of 3." Sato held their hands together preemptively as he counted down.
"1." His grip tightened.
"2." His eyes sharpened.
"3!"
...
The orange eyed teen looked confused at the lack of pressure, Ojiro using all his might couldn't even manage to move his larger hand a single centimeter. His forehead bulged with veins as he tried his hardest, the other boys were hollering as they surrounded the table, "Holy shit… he won't even budge..."
The blond teen let up his attempt and fell on his behind In a large crash, heavy breathing could be heard as cheers sounded out.
"Damn… I couldn't even budge you huh." The tailed teen looked slightly embarrassed, Izuku frowned before giving a comforting hand on Ojiro's shoulder as he helped the boy back onto his feet.
"Thanks."
Truly the ability for people to connect easily was not exclusive to females, the reptilian teen quickly realized. The abrupt and exaggerated personalities of his fellow guys quickly tore down any walls he had, Izuku quickly became totally at ease around the other boys as they went back and forth on the table, the group of girls coming over to cheer on as well.
Well bar one.
"Alright!" All heads turn to Setsuna as she makes her way towards the center of the room.
"My turn!" Izuku saw she had a fire in her eyes, she wanted to try her hand.
Kaminari had an uneasy smile on his face, "Are you sure?" His chuckles were interrupted by an elbow to the shoulder, Sato had a frown on his face.
"While it is true females are definitely weaker than average in terms of musculature compared to men; they can be deceptively built, and I don't think you're in the place to be laughing, little man." The taller boy clapped the electric teen's shoulder and laughed while everyone else joined in. "Hey I'm a lover not a fighter!" They all laughed harder.
"Do you plan to love the villains to death then, ribbit." A vein bulged on his forehead. "That's different!" A few cheers could be heard from the girls.
"Lets go Sato! Standing up for us girls huh?" The large teen waved his hands in front of his face as he blushed, stating he was only saying the facts.
Interrupting the commotion, Setsuna pulled off her black crop top in a single motion. Leaving her only in a sports bra, the room was silent as she squared up at the table, "Well? Who's up first?" Her cocky smile armed with her state of dress... The butterflies in his stomach were a common problem these days for Izuku.
Cheers sounded out from behind her as the group girls whistled, increasing the build up for the upcoming match. Setsuna challenged any of the boys with her toothy grin, bar Izuku.
Yaoyorozu looked away, "Oh dear… they really are a couple." She muttered, Mina shook her head and giggled at the pampered female's reaction.
"Alright alright I'll go, gotta own up to it heh." The electrified teen squared up on the other side of the table, their outstretched hands got into position. The orange haired teen had a slight blush on his face, "Huh, you're the first girl I got to hold my hand at this school."
Setsuna snorted, "If that's enough to fry your brain I can only imagine what would happen if a girl actually kissed you." The other teen spluttered for a second before frowning.
The purple haired teen giggled from the background with her earjacks plugged into the wall, "That boy is all hot air." She snorted.
A blue haired teen had finally finished organizing his countless books and studious items before making his way back into the main room, it had been long and arduous but he had finally accomplished it.
His eyes shadowed as he watched the commotion, the rough housing, the loudness, the energetic yelling and conversation.
Red eyes filled with indignation for a second before calming, "No Tenya you must leave it, I have already learned my lesson. They are simply… Having fun, yes. Fun." He took a large breath, he began his journey into the storm.
"You all have certainly been busy hm?" Izuku recognized that voice, he shifted his sight to the bespectacled teen as he came up next to him with a strained but real smile.
"Greetings yet again Midoriya, how have you found this establishment so far." The chorus of conversation filtered out, the struggling forms of the two teens at the table in the background.
He flipped a thumb up and smiled, he really liked it here. "Hm, I agree. Truly representing this great exemplary institution, I can't help but be inspired by the quality of our housing." Izuku sweatdropped, some of the vocabulary went over his head.
SLAM
His head jerked back towards the two arm-wrestling teens, Setsuna had the same cocky grin on her red face, a sweat droplet or two flowing. Her opponent was far worse for wear, he was loosely hanging off the table attempting to get a reign on his breath.
"Woot woot! You go girl!" The horned female cheered out, Setsuna raised a peace sign as the utterly defeated boy slowly slid off the table and onto the floor.
"Alright! Who's next?"
The boys pushed Sero over, he had a slightly nervous expression.
"Hey, you guys doing arm wrestling?" The cheery voice shot through the room.
"Let me join in!" Kirishima made his way over with a grin on his face.
"You two finished with my stuff already?" Setsuna questioned as he positioned himself on the other side of the table.
"Yep! All done, you just have to organize it yourself. Shoji went to his room, said he was tired. Can't blame him, he admittedly did most of the heavy lifting." Their hands clasped together as they prepared to start, Setsuna inwardly built herself up. Kirishima was not only decently muscular but he had a huge leverage advantage as well, if she was being honest she probably couldn't win this.
"Good luck." Large hands covered theirs as the countdown began, Setsuna psyched herself up mentally while she had a staredown with the redhead.
"3!"
His hand crashed down before stopping at the last second, Kirishima had a shocked look on his face as his grin disappeared, "W-wow, you're stronger than I thought!" Setsuna grimaced as he pulled it back, she couldn't stop his advance. She may have caught him off guard initially but she was quickly losing ground.
She grit her pointed teeth as Kirishima got her closer and closer to the pad. Hovering, hands shook as Setsuna resisted and almost impossibly began slowly raising her hand back up.
Green eyes flew to the other boy, she grit in anger as she noticed one simple detail.
He wasn't giving it his all.
"Don't... Look... Down… On me." She snarled, if he was giving it his all she'd have lost already. It pissed her off, it was times like these where she lost her typical reasoning skills in an animalistic daze.
Sweating decently enough, he wore an uneasy smile. "You're getting really into it huh?" Setsuna didn't reply, saving all her energy as arms trembled from exertion.
"Psszzzzzz"
Suddenly and without warning speakers blared up all around them, the buzzing stopping everyone in their tracks as it reverberated throughout the room. Setsuna and Kirishima separated at the table quickly, were they in trouble?
"Before we reach curfew…" The monotone voice yawned mid sentence before continuing, "I'll set some ground rules for the dorms. One, don't do anything stupid. Two, don't do anything illegal, three you're all in charge of your nutrition. Limit your eating, you do not have an unlimited budget for food." The teens barely had time to digest what the speakers were saying, the voice clearly wanted to get it over with quickly.
"Finally, lights off at 10 on weekdays and 12 on weekends and breaks. Remember that because I won't repeat it."
"Now go to sleep, you all have a big day tomorrow and I do not accept tardiness or lack of energy as an excuse. Goodnight."
They all stood in silence, the clock ticking as they collectively thought the same thing.
"Lights out."
A collective groan sounded out.
The class 1A students quickly made their way back to their respective rooms, a few muttering curses under their breaths as their fun ended prematurely.
Setsuna quickly prepared for bed after organizing her stuff exactly where she wanted it, the various dinosaur memorabilia and figures sticking out from the rest. A giant sculpture of a raptor stood at the corner of her room in all its glory, all in all Setsuna was content if not a little blue balled from earlier.
Although she managed to defeat Kaminari and Sero, she knew it was pushing her luck to try Kirishima. The boy was by no means super muscular but had a relative muscle tone and obviously had the biological advantage, males simply had higher inherent strength generally. The disparity has been mostly offsetted by quirks, but the fact still remained.
Regardless, she was exhausted now.
Laying in her bed with nothing on but her undergarments, the cool unused blanket chilled against her skin as she shifted in her bed. The cool blanket left her shivering, the windows being open not helping.
Wishing for warmth, she imagined Izuku laying next to her… An idea popped in her head, a mischievous smile grew.
No parent supervision, no rules against it, the thrill…
She sat up and threw off her covers, she quickly threw on an oversized shirt in her drawer before donning a toothy grin on her face.
She unlocked her door.
Bakugo sat in the dark of his room, deep in thought.
"I know something fishy is going on at this school…" he knew that they were hiding something, the blue beam from the exams was not strong enough to be the beam that wiped out his city else they'd all be dead, he'd never forget the sight of that armageddon. But still, it was an odd coincidence and one he would not forget…
His mind went back to the orange eyed teen, Deku. Of all the people to survive unscathed from the catastrophe it was the weak, quirkless, useless sniveling pathetic Deku, it was almost incomprehensible that he could amount to anything much less someone who'd beaten him in the practical. The traumatic event must have scared him so badly into activating a latent quirk gene, not the first time something like that happened. He couldn't even recognize the bastard, the image of the tall reptilian teen and the small sniveling little boy did NOT match in his mind.
Katsuki quickly tore off his used bandages, the dim blue glow of his keloid scar filtering through as layer after layer fell away and onto the floor. He slowly and methodically applied an active burn fix gel to his face and rubbed it across the contours of his face causing him to hiss and groan.
He'd endure all of it, the constant pain, the isolation, the dislike. None of it mattered, he just needed to reach his goal. The one thing he could always fall back on, his net.
"Fuck… I got it in my mouth."
Izuku was glad to finally rest in his bed again, he'd quickly torn open his windows to let the cool air in as sleeping normally would just lead to constant sweat. His abnormally high body temp, a result of his oddly nuclear natured circulatory system, kept him from becoming cold. A blanket was more of a comfort, he didn't need it to be warm and often it made sleeping too warm, he opted to leave his windows open.
The orange eyed teen was still coming off the dopamine rush, today was great in so many ways. Things were really looking up, before today he hadn't really considered other teens his age much, but that all changed after he actually met a few and experienced first hand what it meant to have friends… If he could call them that.
Izuku closed his eyes, mind drifting to the future of this class as he attempted to sleep. Today was only the beginning of his journey towards his own personal growth, he was real. A real person, not a monster.
Sometimes he still relapsed into the tragedies of the past, faceless figures falling away into blue flame as they screamed out to him.
He would not dwell, he couldn't.
Sleep took Izuku.
She slipped out from her door and quietly made her way to the other hall, tip toeing softly she finally made it to her destination. Izuku's room.
Her smile shattered as she heard the ding of an elevator, Setsuna quickly looked to the source of the noise as the door slid open revealing two figures shadowed by light.
"I'm so sorry Mr. Aizawa sir, I made the commute with my bike and I didn't realize how long it was gonna take me. Am I in trouble?" It was Uraraka.
"No, we are aware of your financial situation. But don't let it become habit, be glad you chose school provided items and essentials." The short female let out a sigh of relief before suddenly yawning.
"That's good sir, I should go to sleep now then right?" She was strolling right besides him.
"Yes and-" Red eyes shot to her position in front of Izuku's door, his hair levitating as he did so.
"Hm, nothing." He rubbed his eyes, this was now his 38th consecutive hour awake.
Plastered against the door, Setsuna stood in a small sweat after she'd almost gotten caught red handed. Breathing a sigh of relief, she mentally added slipping in through small areas as an aspect of her quirk.
"She made it in huh..?" Setsuna cheered silently, she had a gut feeling and of course it was right. Setsuna would talk to her tomorrow, for now she needed the warmth.
Sliding off the oversized shirt, chilling winds bombarded her bare body as she embraced herself and shuddered. Psyching herself up, she nodded resolutely as her teeth clattered.
Slowly, his eyes fluttered open. The shifting of covers and the new scent of fragrant shampoo filled his senses and alerted him to a presence.
Soft breasts squished against his chest after the covers around his body were shifted to let in the form snaked in darkness, his breath hitching as the no doubt feminine body pressed against him. When he fully adjusted to the darkness and opened his eyes to a decent degree, his sight filled with the image of a small smile and red cheeks, green eyed looked up towards him lovingly.
"Hey." Setsuna whispered to him, her warm breath cascading against his skin. Izuku's heart thumped rapidly at her close presence, his BPM increasing.
He wanted to sit up but Setsuna quickly pulled him back down and began whispering to him, most of it he couldn't fully comprehend in his sleep full daze. He relented and fell on his back and relaxed his dorsal plates, opening the cover fully as he relaxed once more.
No words were spoken, Izuku agreed to share the bed quite quickly, why wouldn't they as mates share a bed? Setsuna snuggled into his warm body and tore him from his groggy musing while her arms snaked across his body, getting as close as possible as the cool air between them became warm. She pecked him on the lips and smiled at him from her position on his chest, his pupils large as she caressed his skin gently. Orange eyes drooped at her soothing touch, relaxing as sleep retook it's hold.
"You're so warm…" she whispered sweet nothings to him, embracing him as she spoke softly and tickled his face with her breath. The sound of her voice lulling him back to sleep as he settled, warbling happily as he wrapped his left arm around Setsuna and hugged her tightly to his form.
"Goodnight..." And with that…
He drifted back to sleep, surely safe in the arms of his speaker, his love Setsuna.
Wow… many word
EndlessChains: Hope this chapter met your standards with their preliminary first day at UA. I tried to convey that when Izuku gets too into his fight craze he quickly loses his sense of judgment in a fight and relies on instincts and on the go planning, this will be brought up later for sure. Anyways, Thanks for the review.
fishlord17: Holy shit, had a wide as hell smile as I read this entire thing. Fucking thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed me using Tetsutetsu as the first little antagonist of this story (he lives in Saitama like Setsuna so I thought it was an ample opprotunity to introduce how the incident could effect the world while giving a justification for the fight.) And this definitely aint the last you've seen of him. And yeah I'm a big fan of silent characters in general and prefer the show don't tell method of storytelling. I don't do inner monologuing either, glad that hit off so well from what I'm getting.
Surprised you enjoyed the romance aspect so much, I honestly didn't know if it was a good plan at first but then I realized exactly what I could do with that idea. I really dislike polyamorous or whatever it's called, and I enjoy Setsuna as a character from what little we've seen of her. Part of that is due to the one story Emerald Island I recall? Great story btw it's part of the inspiration I have for writing this to start with. Their relationship is key, I'll just say that. If you enjoyed what I've put out so far, trust me, we just getting started. Thanks for the review, stay awesome.
Ranger McAleer: Ahhh I see what you mean then, truthfully size isn't the end all be all of monster strength in Godzilla. For example Ghidorah usually towers over Godzilla but he still kicks his ass in the end anyways. I have as a matter of fact seen the movies and like you I didn't care for them much. Godzilla earth isn't even the most powerful incarnation either. Still tho, seriously thanks for the review. Honestly I thought 100 follows was a lot for me tbh, I'm a newbie on the writing game and came from nowhere. Anyways, the more you guys review this shit the more I can come up with new ideas or improve my ideas, keep em coming and thanks.
losteverything: Don't worry, I have already written 2-3 chapters ahead by the time you see this. I just write a lot, as you can tell. I have no plans on quitting on this story and I already have the basic plot and ending in mind.
Fishlord17 (Again): Right on the money, Izuku is likely at his strongest the most powerful character (that we know of) in the my hero world, I wasn't kidding in the first chapter when I said his atomic breath shook Japan, but his power is tempered by multiple things. His own lack of control and reign on his animalistic instincts, the societal pressure he has on him from his attack, and a little something else I haven't quite delved into yet.
I'm glad you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing it, I want their bond to feel like at the same time a budding teenage relationship but also something far greater. Stay tuned because their romantic plotline is heavily centric in my story and not just for purely romantic reasons either. Anyways, thanks for the review and godbless.
Universe67: sure thing man, thanks for the review. Every single one makes me want to do 10 pushups.
Not a bad idea actually… ok how about this for every review for this chapter I'll do 10 pushups in a day. Deal? Wouldn't be too far away from my usual regimen based on how many I do every day and how many reviews I usually get. Give me the challenge!
Jharrell819: I'm not confused by that part, I watched the anime trilogy several times (unfortunately). I just don't really like Godzilla Earth, much prefer the typical faster and more emotive Godzilla. Ironically enough the latest version of Legendary Zilla is 164k tons, about 64k more than Godzilla earth himself is.
Iron-slayer-dragon: I think she's awesome, as I said in an earlier chapter I find her much more interesting than the 1A female students. Power and character wise, she has a top tier quirk (in my eyes) and the intelligence to use it, I've tried my best to flesh out her character (we don't know how she changed from a few months before UA into what we see in the joint battle training) And I really want her to have a realistic progression from the side character during the sports festival to the confident and powerful we see during the joint training arc. Thanks for the review man.
Vince Fangway: the best? Honestly I hate to toot my own horn but tbh, that's to be expected. Never read a good Godzilla/Mha crossover tbh (and if one exists please send it to me), the only one I've seen that even constantly updates was… very odd. Anyways, thanks a lot for the review. I always enjoy reading them after I get home from work, admittedly my school work takes priority but I take the time to read every review for sure. Glad their relationship is believable, but I'll slowly shift to the story being more plot based as time goes on (we are getting there).
EndlessChains: Ah hello again, always look forward to your reviews. I'd hope it's endearing, you see I write the two not like your typical romance where people dance around each other, firstly Setsuna is just that type of person to be straightforwardm, secondly Izuku is mute, has survived on a remote island for most his life (I will build on this swear) and his understanding of romance comes solely from his instincts and what he's observed from Setsuna's parents. This coupled with their unique bond, etc. Oh yeah, the incident will always be heavily plot relevant, it's ground zero for almost everything in this story so far. I've actually researched heavily into the characters locations (pre UA) such as Setsuna living in Saitama and how close they are to the incident, etc. While I've also considered a few other factors as I write this story, I've gone heavily into it sometimes I wonder if it's really needed. Stay tuned, the first school day of UA is up next! Thanks for the review.
Onto the rant (skip if you want it's long)
Longest chapter yet, dayum. Next chapter will be faster paced, I can guarantee that. As we smooth into more canon events next chapter, I'll try to increase the pace while at the same time not skimming over canon. Tell me, am I making these too long? I can easily write for ages without moving onto the next plot point, I actually wasn't very satisfied with the ending to the hangout but I needed to move on somehow.
Btw I don't know if you guys can tell or not but I've typed all this out on my phone, and I don't know how beta readers work so I don't have one. Blame any inconsistencies on that because if I could possibly go over every single page multiple times and revamp any mistakes I would. But that's too time consuming and I need to work on the next chapter. Still, revise revise revise.
There will be no sex scenes in this story, just saying that now. While there will likely be sexual content or allusion (I'm not going to pussyfoot around the very real concept), I consider the actual act to be sacred and don't enjoy reading about it much. It doesn't add much to any story I find, especially explicit ones which go on in graphic detail for the sake of it. Just a disclaimer, the M rating is going to be because of the violence I have planned and sometimes due to intimacy, but if there is anything sexual It won't be vain or erotic. I'd like to take it at a slant where it's natural.
Here's a little psychology lesson for ya; it actually amazes me how well Horokoshi detailed growing teenagers and their respective lack of maternal and paternal figures. The biggest case of this being Izuku and Shoto, both who lack the opposite parent in canon.
In canon Izuku is let's be honest a push over until a long while into the story. Not only thanks to his background as a quirkless, but also thanks to his lack of a proper father figure. The closest thing he had to one was the fictionalized All Might in his mind, the one he watched on the TV and on the computer. He is overly emotional, can't stand up for himself, has little constructive life skills, is physically weak. Whereas Shoto is emotionally stunted instead, at least initially. He is essentially the opposite of Izuku in more ways than one, born with arguably the most powerful quirk in class 1A (not counting one for all), son of the number 2 hero, strong physically and mentally, etc. But he can't express himself as easily. Point is... I just found it interesting. None of it is particularly relevant to this story's overall plot… maybe… I just thought it was a cool detail I don't see pointed out often.
Anyways… ignore that…
I enjoy writing slice of life scenes a lot if I'm honest, most of it is for establishing characters and relationships without outright telling the reader through expository text, personally I find it hard to resist skipping through expository text walls that take up too much time. But that's just me. Anyways, tell me if I spend too much time on that, I want to get to the real shit too. A forewarning though, Setsuna and Izuku's relationship will always have a focus in this story, not just for purely romantic reasons either. Trust me. I actually feel like I put too many romance scenes in this but I find them easy to write and people seem to enjoy them? I enjoy romance especially between martial couples, it's a beautiful thing to me and in my experience. Anyways, next chapter will be mainly action based, so stay tuned.
When it comes to character interaction, I take a rather methodical approach to it. I like to illustrate a bunch of the interactions with a lot of detail based on my own interactions with people and the interactions I've observed. Hope y'all enjoy how I handle that. And let it be known I consider most of class 1A untapped potential (especially Sato and Ojiro) character and power wise, so even if this is an Izuku/Setsuna focused story I won't neglect characters.
I hate stories that just needlessly bash Bakugo, dude has a twisted sense of heroism sure but the potential for growth is huge. Especially since his role in my story is incredibly connected to the plot if you couldn't tell, he will be prominent that's for sure. might be spoilers but, I'm thinking about making him the tertiary protagonist actually (shocking I know)
Also yeah, no Mineta. But funnily enough I don't hate the dude, he's got a retarded design and is a little too overdone with his character gimick, but his actual power is good enough. Plus the dynamic that he is actually really smart is interesting, regardless I had to make a spot for Setsuna and it was either him or the invisible girl (who for some reason people like a lot more than Mineta, despite the fact she does basically nothing in the entire show and is rather generic and useless.) And either way they'd be background characters.
On the topic, now that Setsuna is in class 1A, who will take her place in class 1B as a recommended student?
Anyways, If you actually read this far, congrats. Tell me what you think, later nerds.
