Oh how beautiful the night sky is. How calm and mellow it is. The stars, oh so bright, as the darkness settled in the sky. How could this be when on a familiar island named Wawanakwa, was the presence of one of the most sadistic men. Chris Mclean.
Chris was hunched over in the staff tent, looking at a list. There were some words; some scribbled out, some erased, and some with a star next to them. He sighed as he looked at the growing pile of coffee cups, along with a pile of crumpled-up papers. He took all of both piles and threw them away before going back to his chair. "Man, sometimes I wish I didn't have to think of these challenges. It would be nice if for once the contestants could come up with these challenges huh?" He said this to seemingly no one and was just thinking out loud.
He sat there for a second before realizing something. It was the day that the season would be officially starting, and he didn't have a challenge ready. He immediately sat up and panicked. I mean who wouldn't? Suddenly he had an idea. He knew what the first challenge would be.
...
Chris now sat on the dock with his phone out, arguing with the person driving the -soon to be revealed- transportation vehicle. What they were arguing about you may ask? Chris wanted the driver to wake everyone up and drive them all to the island that second. Obviously that was a ridiculous demand but Chris didn't realize that. Though eventually the driver gave up and told Chris "I'll be there in ten.." Chris smirked after the call ended.
Chris got ready for the contestants and spread gel on his hair. He then put on some face cream before looking at himself in the mirror and smirking. He walked out and stood on the dock. He then realized that he was very tired. "Huh, guess I was too busy to realize it earlier." Chris quickly ran and grabbed a cup of coffee before going back to the dock. He then saw the vehicle and laughed. "Oh my god, that's perfect!" He wiped away tears before composing himself. The vehicle in question was..odd. It was a marshmallow shaped ship with the season name branded on the side of it along with the face of the one and only Chris Mclean.
Chris stifled a laugh before looking towards the camera. "As you can see, this is a very amazing vehicle. But besides that, it also contains our contestants which I am about to introduce." He raised his hands above him to show his excitement. "First up is, uhh.." He trailed off as he realized that the ship hadn't reached him yet. Actually, it was still a few feet away. It was coming..at a slow pace. Chris tapped his foot as he looked at his watch. "Any second now.."
Finally after what seemed like an eternity, the ship got close enough to where the contestants could get off and the ship could stop. First off the giant marshmallow was a girl with cream skin and some freckles. She had dark purple hair that was styled into a side ponytail on the right side and brown eyes. She wore a purple T-shirt with a pink vest on top of it. On that vest, she had pins of Mario, A coffee mug from The Office, and some pins of four leaf clovers and rabbit's foot. She also had on a green skirt and some white sneakers with what appeared to be dirt and mud stains on them. The girl smiled, revealing her braces with purple rubber bands woven in. It also revealed that she was chewing on a purple piece of gum, with the color starting to fade.
"FINALLY! Everyone, welcome July! I-I mean June.." June frowned upon hearing this and simply walked over to the left side of the dock away from Chris. "Sorry it's just..you remind me so much of my old flame from middle school. Her name was July. She's dead now..cancer.." Chris started to tear up at the memories, June looked over in confusion. This was VERY awkward. The camera then focused on Chris, who was now rubbing his neck. "Anyways, let's get ready for our next contestant which is.."
Next out of the marshmallow was a boy with ivory skin and a lean build. He had blue eyes along with long blue hair styled into a ponytail with a red scrunchie that was placed over his shoulder. He wore a red button-up dress shirt, black slacks, and matching dress shoes. "ADRIAN! Welcome to Total Drama dude." Adrian nodded at him before making his way to June. "Hey! I'm June!" He looked at June for a two or so beats before deciding to not say anything. June, again, frowned.
The next contestant to come out was a girl with flaming red hair which was slightly longer than a short pixie cut. She had green eyes and pale ivory skin that was dotted with freckles. If you looked closely, you could tell that she had a small scar on her upper left lip. She wore a white button up blouse with rolled up sleeves, a green and red plaid skirt that went no further than before her knees, black socks that went up to her knees, and red running shoes. She also had blue star stud earrings that were on each ear.
"Ginny! Our neighborhood ginger!" Ginny, who was now standing next to the two other contestants, waved while glaring at Chris. "Sheesh, anyways our next contestant, is coming out already!" Just as Chris said, there was indeed someone getting off of the ship already. Instead of following the pattern, another girl came out. She was very uhh pink. She had tanned skin, bright blue eyes, and blonde hair which was currently loose to show it's length, which was all the way to her middle back. She had on black mascara, peachy pink lip gloss, and some light eyeshadow which was a blue color.
As she got out of the giant marshmallow, you could get a better view of her outfit. She wore a pink top with a lighter shade of pink fur on the top. It also had "Time to go shopping!" inscribed in jewels. She also wore some white jeggings and silver high heels with glitter all over them. If you looked closely you could see that she had painted fuschia nails along with a blue diamond ring on her finger. As the girl moved her hair out of her face, you could see that she wore a ruby necklace along with everything else. "Ughh, why did the stupid driver have to wake us up like that..? And at this time too.." The pink loving girl rubbed her eyes as Chris began to introduce her. "Maya! Our local barbie!" Adrian raised his eyebrow. "You seem to be recycling some of the same introductions. Chris. Chris. CHRIS!" A loud thud could be heard from the other side of the dock. The camera switched to show Chris laying on the dock rubbing his head and scowling. "OKAY! Okay, I'll say something else next time." Breaking the chain of girls was another boy who was, like Maya, decked out in one color.
He was ghostly pale and didn't have a ton of muscle on him. He had short black hair that was a little scruffy and crimson red eyes. The boy wore a black shirt with a red stripe on the sleeve, black pants, and black loafers. He also had on a long sleeve white under shirt, well, under his shirt, but it was hardly visible. The most eye-catching thing about him though was that on the left side of his face, he had a burn scar that looked pretty serious. "Everyone, Archie is her- ouch, what happened to you?" Archie, said while walking to the rest of the contestants, "I don't want to talk about it." Nobody said anything as Archie stood with them. Awkward...
"I-I hope I'm not interrupting anything.." Everyone turned their head to a girl who was nervously rocking on her feet. She had pale skin and a slender figure, bright green eyes, and light pink lipstick and some light blush. She also had wavy brown hair that was currently in a ponytail. The anxious girl wore a light purple blouse with some blue jeans and black flats. She also had purple barrettes in her hair. They were small, but if you looked closely you could tell she had silver earrings in the shape of spheres. "Amelia, our favorite journalist!" Amelia waved shyly before walking over next to Ginny. Next out of the odd ship was a male with a swimmers build who was writing in a leather journal.
He, like Maya, had tanned skin. He was taller than most of the other contestants besides Ginny. He had stormy gray eyes and blonde hair which was medium length and curly. It was also a bit messy. His outfit consisted of a plain white T-shirt under a blue jean jacket. He also wore blue ripped skinny jeans and a gray beanie that had tufts of his hair sticking out. Over his shoulder, he carried a gray duffle bag that had some small dirt stains. "Charlie! Welcome to Total Drama!" Charlie, hearing his name, put his journal in his duffle bag before slightly frowning. "Gee, thanks. I sure am looking forward to getting tortured for however long I'm here."
Chris heard laughter coming from somewhere off screen and looked around to see who it was, though it was blatantly obvious who it was. His eyes landed on Chef who was currently laughing, almost crying. "Whoo, I like that boy!" Chris raised his eyebrows before turning back to look at the camera. The next contestant was a female who was shorter than the other contestants. She was pasty white and had a lanky build along with hazel eyes that had a natural darkness around them. She had long curly black hair that looked to be a little unkempt. She wore a torn-up black shirt and a pair of baggy torn-up jeans. She also had on long black socks and brown work boots that had some dirt on the side of them. She also wore a pair of yellow rubber gloves that also had some dirt on them.
"Ingrid! Uhh nice to meet you?" Chris said this as if it were his first time hosting. In reality though, it was just because he was confused on why so many of the contestants wore dark colors. It just threw him off. Ingrid said nothing as she walked over to the other contestants, giving off a rather mysterious aura. Chris suddenly got some conversation in an earbud he was wearing. He then turned to face the contestants and proceeded to talk in an unnecessarily loud voice. "Alright campers, I just heard that we're going to be going to recess for a couple of minutes after this next contestant. Just so that everyone can get a chance to get up, do some stretches, maybe get a snack."
Right as he said that, another contestant came out of the ship. It was another male contestant. He appeared to be asian and had a pale complexion along with being scrawny. He had brown eyes and had short spiky black hair that looked like it had seen better days. He was dressed rather strange, only wearing a green lizard onesie that appeared to be a size too big. He also walked out of the ship reading a superhero comic that looked a little worn out. Like it had been read everyday for a couple of years. "Larry, everyone! Umm say..hi?" Chris almost started laughing as he saw what Larry was wearing. Maya on the other hand, couldn't contain herself and fell into a fit of laughter. "Oh, that is rich!" Larry heard this and glared at her while pouting.
Suddenly, a change in music could be heard. Not for the contestants. Though Chris knew it was time for a break. "Alright everyone! As you all probably know using context clues, it is time for recess. And as for the contestants that are with me right now, well they'll be getting to participate in a special mini challenge. It'll be short since we only have..-" Chris paused to do a head count of everyone so far. Eight. "-eight contestants here with me right now. So come back in ehh 30 minutes!"
The show went to recess and started to play advertisements.
Mini-Challenge #1 PT.1: Full Course Meal
Chris turned his attention to the contestants. "Now then, as you just heard me say, you all will indeed be participating in a mini-challenge. Now you might be asking yourself, what might this challenge be, or maybe even is there a reward for winning?"Everyone stared blankly at him which caused him to sigh with disappointment. "You guys were supposed to agree with me..okay never mind whatever. This first mini-challenge will be a simple obstacle course. Or should I say a FULL COURSE!" Chris chuckled at his own joke. Nobody laughed.
Chris glared at them all. "You guys are boring. This obstacle course will be filled with food, condiments, seasoning, you name it! So let me explain how this will work. You guys will be competing in a food themed obstacle course. This isn't any old obstacle course though, there will be a prize you are aiming to get. I will not reveal what it is or what it looks like, but trust me, it exists." The mention of a prize caused everyone to instantly perk up. "See? You all like prizes, so you're all going to need to do a good job if you REALLY want it."
Maya rolled her eyes as she heard this. She then proceeded to say in a sweet voice. "Come on Chris, just tell us how to win this already!" Most of the other contestants nodded their heads or murmured agreements. "Sheesh, okay! Calm yourselves! How you can win this challenge is by completing the full obstacle course. However, this isn't all brawn though. This full course will indeed have three courses. Obviously." Some people were visibly relieved at this, while others gulped in fear.
Chris stopped to think if there was anything else he needed to mention. "Oh yeah, the obstacle course will be located on the beach. Well, the really sandy part of the island. Okay, now I'm pretty sure that's all. Any questions?" Nobody said anything as they were all too focused on winning. "Okay, your first mini-challenge starts in 3..2..1..GO!" Everyone raced to the "beach" as fast as they could, with Ginny in the lead and Maya and Larry neck and neck at the end of the group. Larry was in the back because well it was a hot day and he was wearing his onesie so..yeah. (Note to self- Larry+Onesie=Warm Larry x Sun Heat=Very hot Larry) Maya though was behind as she refused to take off her heels "They're so pretty! I don't want to take them off right now!" which caused her to keep tripping as she was trying to run in them. Not very bright.
Once everyone was on the course, they all took a second to look at it. The first course, Appetizers, consisted of a row giant cornballs -that were held up by many metal poles- that you had to jump on to get to the next stage, a long container with various condiments and dipping sauces that you needed to swim through, and some rotating breadsticks that had some red things sticking out of them, though it was too far away to actually see. For the breadsticks, you needed to somehow get to the next course while they were turning and avoiding the red things.
The next course, The Main Course, had its first obstacle be a giant fish which the contestants needed to actually GO THROUGH to get to the next obstacle, followed by a maze made of lasagna. This course was a bit short but all of them are pretty easy since they ARE mini-challenges after all. All of them should take a maximum 5 minutes, which gives enough time for recess.
Then finally the third course, Dessert, made itself known with it's first obstacle being to cross a bridge made out of smores, and the final obstacle, running across to the finish line while having ice cream fall from who knows where. Of course though, none of the food in the challenge was real though. It was all made of various types of foam, paint, clay, etc. Typical building stuff. Well except for one thing..
Ginny was the first to snap out of her daze and start the course with Adrian following shortly after. As she leaped onto the first cornball she could see how high she was. She wasn't necessarily scared of heights per say, but any reasonable person wouldn't want to die trying to jump on a giant cornball. She eventually made it through though and stopped for a minute to catch her breath. Adrian had been working on jumping on the last one. Everyone else had caught up to him within a minute or two.
At the next stage, Ginny was pretty confident she could do it pretty fast, considering how good of a swimmer she was. As she predicted she got through most of it pretty quickly. That was until she suddenly couldn't move. "W-what the-?" She looked around frantically and realized that what she thought was mayonnaise was actually glue. "Shit.." She then saw June heading towards her direction. "J-June! Over here!" June hearing her name, saw Ginny stuck. "Uhm, Ginny?" She started to doggy paddle towards her at a speed that really could be faster. "I'm stuck! Hurry up!" Finally, June reached Ginny and made sure to avoid the areas Ginny said were traps. She pulled and pulled until finally, Ginny came out and landed..in the ketchup.
She quickly stood up so as to not accidentally get any in her mouth and followed her own advice and stayed clear of the glue. June followed behind her also taking Ginny's advice. June briefly looked back to everyone else who were just about to reach the glue spots. Archie was surprisingly in the front of the group. Maya had finally decided to take off her heels but was holding them in her right hand and trying to keep up.
Archie was moving at a steady pace and didn't seem too excited to be on here. Larry was starting to rethink his choice of wearing his onesie. It had been covered in a brownish mess of sauces and condiments. Gross. To be fair though, no one would like getting their outfit covered in that. Amelia was starting to hate wearing flats. They were quickly covered in the same brownish mess that had contaminated Larry. Ingrid was somehow less upset than everyone else. Her boots covered her feet (unlike Amelia) and her gloves covered her hands. Though, since her outfit was torn-up she did suffer from the same fate as others.
June debated with herself on if she should tell them or not. Ultimately though, she decided to tell them. "Hey guys! Watch out for the glue or you're gonna get stuck there!" The group looked at June with wide eyes and some even smiled at her. The final stage of the first course. Breadsticks.
Ginny, who didn't see the red bits, ran onto it only to be blown back -midway of the breadstick- to the beginning. Dynamite. That's what it was. Typical. She lifted her head to see that a few people had gotten ahead of her. She then started to carefully walk on the sticks at a less than desirable speed. On the flip side of things though, Maya, who had just gotten to the breadstick stage after complaining for a good bit about her hair getting ruined, was unaware of the dynamite. You can probably guess what happened next.
"AHH! My HAIR! My FACE!" She quickly looked around to see if there was anything that she could use to clean her -now gray- outfit. She didn't. She angrily walked on the breadsticks while pouting. Most people, including Ginny, had already gotten to the Main Course of the challenge and decided to rest for a minute. This gave Maya and Larry (who was now palms down trying to catch his breath) some time to catch up.
Right as everyone was about to continue, Chris's voice could suddenly be heard. Probably from a speaker. "ATTENTION CAMPERS! DUE TO TIME REASONS THIS MINI-CHALLENGE WILL BE CUT IN HALF!THERE WILL BE NO WINNER YET" Everyone temporarily relaxed. They didn't have to worry about losing or not. But..they all wanted to get through the fish quickly.
Ginny hesitated before she took a step into the fish's mouth. The others just looked on, not wanting to step inside. Ginny wished she could walk out but she couldn't. It would be a little pathetic if she took a step and then just walked out. Though as she felt the tongue* of the fish through her running shoes, she seriously regretted taking the first step. The tongue felt all kinds of disgusting. Still, she kept on walking and eventually made it to the middle. She then realized that the whole inside of the fish..had been hollowed out. The thought made her slightly sad but more so even more disgusted. The other contestants, not wanting to look like..wimps..decided to join Ginny and walked inside the fish. Amelia regretted wearing flats as she felt the fish's slimy tongue on her foot. "Oh gosh, this is not good..at all.." Finally Ginny made it through the uhh..other side of the fish, though instead of celebrating she just stood there, most probably traumatized. Chris met them (Ginny) at the other end of the fish. "Wait, Chris, how did you get here? I mean you didn't even go through the fish." Chris simply smirked and pointed at a very tall ladder. Ginny went wide eyed. "So you mean..we could've just gone through..the ladder and not the fish?" Ginny was fuming and started turning a little red. She gave Chris a quick shove.
"HEY! WATCH IT! I DON'T WANT MY SHIRT TO HAVE ANY WRINKLES!" Ginny scowled as the others came through the fish, looking exactly like Ginny did. Chris thought nothing of it, shrugged, and simply went down the ladder.
RECESS OVER
MINI-CHALLENGE #1 PT.1: FULL COURSE MEAL
Back at the dock, the contestants sat, some even curled up in balls (Larry) while some sat with their head resting on their knees (Amelia). "Alright, our next contestant is Maxine!" A bright ginger girl came out of the marshmallow with a huge smile on her face. "Max, if you would. I prefer it more than Maxine." Max had slightly sun-kissed skin and an apple figure along with a large, round gut. She didn't seem to mind though, in fact, it seemed like she was more proud of it than anything. She has large doe eyes that are a deep blue. She had her ginger hair in an asymmetrical bob styled towards the right.
Her outfit consisted of a light blue collared shirt with short sleeves that was tied to show off her midriff, knee-length capris which were a nice cream color, and brown sandals. Very simple outfit but surprisingly fitting for her. She also wore an oval shaped silver necklace that looked like it had seen better days.
She energetically walked over, almost skipping, to Amelia who was looking at the ground. She seemed to be looking at something miniscule, like an ant. Their energies were polar opposites. The next contestant was a male with pale ivory skin and, like Adrian, taller than the other contestants though unlike Adrian, he was actually the same height as Ginny. He had some small scars spread throughout his body. He had brown eyes and dark brown hair that was short and in a crew cut. His outfit was a moss green T-shirt under a gray zip up hoodie, navy blue jeans that had some dirt along the bottom, and dark brown boots that also had some dirt.
He walked over to the rest of the contestants while saying, "This is a nice island you got here. Looks like the type of place where some cryptids might hang out." He looked around while placing himself next to Archie. "Harry, thanks for the compliment! I have no idea what cryptids are but if you say that then..sure?" Chris wasn't lying. He really didn't know what a cryptid was. Well aside from the most mainstream ones like Nessie, Yetis or Bigfoot. "Wait, you're telling me you don't know ANY cryptids?" Chris shook his head. Harry didn't say anything and like Chris, shook his head, though for different reasons.
"Uhm okay what about..let's see, okay why not my favorite, y'know the Michigan Dogman?" Chris shook his head, causing Harry to let out a sigh. "Okay what about Mothman? No? Okay what about Fresno Nightcrawlers? The ones that look like pants?" Chris was confused. "Sigh. Okay what about..Jersey Devils? Again? Ugh..okay final one, Indrid Cold A.K.A The Smiling Man?" Chris just sighed. "No, Harry I do not know any of these..cryptids. Now please, let me host my own show." Harry apologized before he retreated back next to Archie.
Chris looked slightly thrown off as he introduced the next contestant. "Everyone! Uhh, Melissa. Our inventor!" A girl who was uh VERY tall standing at a solid 6'9. She had pale white skin and had some light acne on her cheeks. She also had light green eyes and long lime green hair with purple tips. She had on a dark purple shirt with light purple word "Parasite" with regular Freddy Fazbear, Nightmare Bonnie, Phantom Chica, and Withered Foxy having purple eyes with Glitchtrap behind them; dark grey jacket with black pockets; blue jeans; blue boots with a red stripe. Very uhh fandomed out?
Melissa waved and proceeded to step out of the marshmallow. Well I guess it should be attempted. She ended up tripping and almost landing on her face. Her hands had to break her fall and were now slightly scraped. She looked at her palms for a solid five seconds before moving next to June. June waved at her and noticed her palms. "You okay there?" Melissa nodded. "I'm fine."
June nodded. She then took out something from the pocket of her vest. Some band-aids. June motioned towards her hands and then proceeded to gently put the purple band-aids on Melissa's palms. June smiled at her. Suddenly a small yelp was heard. Everyone turned to see that yet another person -this time a boy- had tripped. Chris smirked."Either someone needs to fix something or you're just really clumsy." Chris chuckled as the boy got up, embarrassed.
He, like many of the other contestants, was slightly pale and had a slight amount of muscle. He had soft purple eyes and curly ginger hair that stopped at his neck. He also had some orange freckles lightly scattered around his nose and cheeks. He wore a navy blue long sleeved shirt under a green hoodie that had "Fresh Bread" printed on it. He also had on baggy black sweatpants with white socks underneath a pair of red and blue shoes. As he started to walk over to the other contestants, the smell of fresh bread became more apparent and put some of the teens in a trance-like state.
"Xavier! Say, I thought you said you had a mouse..Cheese right?" Xavier nodded and pulled something out of his hair, causing some people to chuckle. "He's right here." It was a mouse. He appeared to be about 5 inches and had white fur, though it was dotted with some black spots making it look like he had holes in him. He also had a long pink tail, a small pink nose, and some white ears with blush pink insides. Very cute. Xavier pulled something else out of his pocket. A small chunk of bread. He pulled it apart though, making it even smaller, and fed it to Cheese, who squeaked happily in return. "Alright everyone, enough of this nonsense. Next up is Miriam. Our dancer."
Miriam got off the ship with a special fierceness to her walk. Miriam had moderate brown skin and had the build of a typical ballet dancer. She had dark brown eyes along with long wavy black hair that was in a high ponytail. She also wore some black mascara on her lashes that had some length to them. She wore a black bikini top under a blue jean jacket vest. She also wore a purple-pink almost magenta skirt with brown penny boots. One her right arm, she wore a gold bracelet with an emblem in the shape of a phoenix on it.
"Chris you really need to work on your introductions. They're a little bit..plain." Miriam smirked before walking over to Maya. Chris frowned. He had just been told to work on his introductions. Twice. He sighed. "Okay, next is JACOB! Our techie! Tell the robots to spare me?" Miriam raised her eyebrow along with Adrian. Out came a boy with pale skin and a slim build. He had brown eyes along with long hair that was also brown. His outfit. A long sleeved yellow shirt, ripped black pants, and black fingerless gloves. His shoes were black and pretty generic. He also had a black hat on his head. What type? I don't know.
Jacob simply said nothing and instead nodded his head at Chris. His silence piqued some people's interest. He walked over to the rest of the cast but he still distanced himself away from everyone. "Alright everyone, we have a couple more campers now but we're going to take a five minute break. No, this isn't a mini-challenge. It's just a snack break. If you will." Everyone perked up a little. They were all very hungry, besides Xavier who kept eating small pieces of bread from his pocket. "Alright everyone, you can all go to your own area and get some food, but you all have to stick together."
Everyone murmured agreements to those rules before heading off into the forest. Ginny, being the leader of the group, turned around to face everyone before saying, "Okay if you will, follow me, this is now a picnic." and walking deeper in the forest. No one fought this as they all just wanted to rest. They eventually came across a clearing with some berry bushes nearby. Melissa took off her jacket and laid it on the ground. Luckily it was a little oversized so it could fit more people. Maya though, thought that the dirt from the ground would stain her outfit. "I can't. I'll just stand up."
Harry then volunteered to look for food. Ingrid also decided to join him and they went off somewhere to the left. This left some awkward silence between everyone else. June had to pee all of a sudden. "Uhh guys, I'll be right back. I need to take care of a..issue" No one really paid attention to her so June just left before realizing, she didn't know where the bathroom was. She frantically looked around for anything she could use and saw a bucket. She quickly ran over to it and proceeded to relieve herself. "Ah, much better..wait. OUCH!" June jumped up from the bucket and saw that the bucket was filled with live fish. June groaned as she remembered what she had to experience earlier. She pulled her skirt up and walked to the nearest bush, not ready to face the awkwardness yet. She saw a bush dotted with bright red berries. Her stomach grumbled as she walked over to the bush and kneeled down.
She looked around to see if anyone was watching before taking a handful of them and shoving them in her mouth. They tasted a bit bitter. She felt her mouth burning a little but ignored that. She suddenly had a huge headache and felt nauseous. Oh no.. They were poisonous berries. The urge to hurl grew bigger until.."BLEGHHHHHH"
Back at the clearing, everyone heard June hurling and decided to send Melissa to help. She walked over to June and almost tripped over a tree root. "June? You okay? I uh heard you throwing up over here.." June looked at her with a frown on her face. "Right..dumb question." June got up and started walking back to the group before saying, "It's alright. It's not your fault." Melissa nodded before following her.
Back with Harry and Ingrid, Ingrid was the one who actually seemed to be looking for food. Harry was just talking about cryptids and how cool it would be if he found one. Ingrid tried to tune him out and instead rested her eyes on a flower. It was actually a rose bush. Very pretty. The roses were a nice hot pink color and had huge petals. There was a small bee in the center of the flower. The thorns on the flower were ever so sharp and the roses appeared to be leaning towards her a little. Slowly. Ingrid noticed this and smiled.
Harry stopped talking when he noticed how strange Ingrid was acting. He walked over behind her and stared. Harry noticed how the plants were ever so slightly moving towards her. Ingrid seemed like she was in a trance like state. "Uhh Ingrid?" He poked her shoulder. That seemed to snap her out of..whatever she was doing. "Would you like some tea? I can make you a rather splendid herbal tea later." Harry didn't know how to respond. She was acting like she didn't remember what just happened. "Ehh, sure I guess."
...
After a couple minutes eating, the contestants decided to go back to Chris to speed the process up. Melissa's jacket was now covered with a little dirt and grass. She would have to wash it later. "Ah! There you guys are! Now our next contestant is Estelle!" A girl with tan skin and a short stature walked out of the marshmallow. She had emerald green eyes and dyed magenta hair. She also had some small scars on her arms and legs. Her hair was messily put up in a ponytail and had bangs covering the left side of her face. Her outfit was very nature-esque being a long forest green blouse that had an even longer back, a brown corset with some moss green stitching, purple leggings, and brown boots that went up to her knees. To top it off, she also wore a long purple scarf that hid some of her face.
"Hey." A deadpan voice came out of Estelle's mouth as she simply said that one word. She then decided to stand next to Miriam. "Estelle." "Miriam." Estelle let the silence stay there for a couple of seconds before eventually saying, "I feel like I've heard that name before. Like, someone calling me Miriam..oh well what do I know" Miriam nodded unsure of what to say. "Calvin! Nice to meet you buddy! Hey c'mere for a sec?"
A boy with black skin and a thin physique came out of the marshmallow ship. He had black eyes and short shaved black hair. His outfit included a gray turtleneck sweater underneath a dark brown trench coat with some dark brown trousers and finally black penny loafers. "Agent Mclean, pleasure to meet you." Calvin walked over to Chris to be met with Chris whispering something in his ear. After a couple of seconds, Calvin nodded and walked over to the other teens nonchalantly. He then took some black sunglasses from his trench coat pocket and placed them over his eyes.
"Alright, let's start speedrunning this! Next up is Jianne!" A girl with fair skin and an inverted triangle figure stepped out. She had black eyes and jet black hair with the tips dyed a darker shade of blue. Her hair was loose and went down to her mid-back. She also wore dark lipstick and eyeliner. For her outfit, she wore a white mock neck shirt with "Be Yourself" printed galaxy-style. On top of that, she wears a black leather jacket. She also wears a black short skirt with a chained belt, fishnet tights, and black combat boots. On her neck, she also wore a silver moon necklace. Jianne waved with a neutral expression on her face. Her eyes then landed on Amelia. She walked over next to her. "H..hey..I'm Amelia." Jianne nodded.
"AHEM, I SAID, lets SPEEDRUN this! JACE!" A boy with warm ivory skin and freckles was pushed outside. He was scrawny and had green eyes. "I didn't think it was so early, I mean it's still dark!" His eyes looked up at the starry sky. He had black hair with some strands in the front red, and it was styled into a medium sized comb over. His outfit was comfortable, a black T-shirt under a bulky black hoodie, some light gray sweatpants, and a pair of gray running shoes. He curiously looked over everyone, making some people a little uncomfortable with the attention. He muttered a quick Hey before walking over to Amelia. She seemed to be popular with the shy ones. "XENA!"
A scrawny pale girl with blue eyes and white blonde hair in a high ponytail (tied with a gray elastic) came out of the ship with a complex look on her face. Complex being because you couldn't tell what she was thinking. Her outfit. A steel blue sweater vest over a gray long sleeve shirt. A pleated steel blue and gray skirt, and gray sandals. Xena looked at everyone with a look that well..looked like she was studying them. "Hello Chris. My name is Xena Stein, but you may all refer to me as Xena." Maya let out a quiet laugh. She sounded like a textbook. Xena quickly looked over to Maya with a stern look on her face. She pursed her lips for a second before saying, "I would much prefer it if you would not do that. Laughing at me I mean. It's a bit..rude." She then proceeded to walk over next to Jacob. They both said nothing to each other as Xena looked over at him. Weirdos..
"Uhh yeah anyways, still speedrunning this, next up is.." Chris quickly pulled out a fat stack of papers and looked through them before speaking. "Oh yeah, PETER!" Peter, a boy with a lightly tanned muscular body, came out of the ship with a smirk on his face. He had brown eyes and matching brown hair that was messy and reached midway down his neck. He wore a black tank top that showed off his muscles, navy blue shorts that went down to his knees, and gray combat boots. He also wore a gray sweatband with a white streak in the middle. He had a somewhat standoffish vibe to him and he didn't say anything. He appeared to be in the process of gathering something in his mind.
"HUNTER! COME OUT COME OUT WHEREVER YOU ARE!" Chris's yelling startled most of the contestant's. Though when Hunter came out in the midst of his screaming, he didn't seem fazed by it. In fact, he just stood there stone faced. He had peach skin and light freckles dotting his cheeks. He had a slim build and pale blue eyes that contrasted with his tough exterior. He had messy dyed silver hair that was of medium length and had bangs that fell in his face just enough so that they didn't cover his eyes. He wore a lavender cardigan over a white button down shirt, some gray jeans, and some black sneakers. Around his wrist, there was a pink rope bracelet that fitted snugly on him. He also had on some lavender earbuds that were probably playing some music.
Hunter had his head hung as he came out, not bothering to take off his earbuds. "Okay no offense Hunter, but could you please move faster? I'm TRYING to host a show here!" He paused, waiting for Hunter to find a place to stand. When he did (next to Archie), Chris continued."Alright our final girl, LAURIE!" A short girl walked out of the marshmallow, which had been getting ready to head off again, seeing how little contestants were left.
Laurie was -as already said- very short, standing at only 5'2. She had fair skin, though it was covered by lots of scars and bruises all over her (it seemed they were attempted to hide). She was slim and rather petite but she also had some nice lean muscles. Her eyes were dark brown and were outlined by some light mascara and eyeliner. Her hair was dirty blonde and was straight and styled into a fishtail braid with some loose pieces framing her face.
Her outfit was a long sleeved shirt that was pink in color, a black knee length skirt that was pleated, some white leggings, and some pink ballet flats. Around her neck, was a silver necklace with a matching silver dog tag on it. It had the Japanese character for love "ai" printed on. Laurie also had small silver stud earrings.
Laurie waved at everyone and had a warm smile on her face. "Hey guys! I hope we can be friends." Some people raised their eyebrow at her while some returned the smile. "Sigh, anyways, our final contestant, GRAYSON!" A boy with tanned skin and a slightly muscular build came out. He looked a little bored. Rightfully so, he had been in there for hours. He had brown eyes and black hair that was spiked, almost mohawk like. He had on a short sleeved black T-shirt with the Hurley logo on it, Some blue skinny jeans, and some black sneakers. He, like Hunter, was also listening to music. Based on his appearance, it was probably some kind of rock music. He smirked as he began to speak. "What's up Total Drama, names Grayson, but you can call me Gray." He walked over next to Hunter still jamming out.
"ALRIGHT, let me make sure everyone is here." Chris did a quick head count before concluding that everyone was, in fact, here and present. Finally. "Alright newbies, if you'll follow me, I will show you around the island and explain some changes. After that, I will assign teams, give you some time to get your stuff ready, and have our first challenge." Everyone simply nodded too tired to say anything, even Max.
...
The fist stop they made was the confessional. Like the ship it was rather strange. It was also a giant marshmallow. You could barely see the entrance. "Now, I know you would all like to make a quick confessional right now, but I still need to show you the rest of the island. Feel free to check it out after though." Some contestants like Maya, Adrian, and Amelia groaned, while others didn't mind. After the confessional, they headed to the cabins. They were rebuilt and cleaned. When they went inside they saw that the rooms looked pretty much the same as always except for the random color every object or two. The left cabin was a light purple while the right cabin was a brownish-gray.
Everyone assumed they were the team colors for this season. After that, they checked out where the elimination ceremony would be held. It was in a separate building. It's exterior was rather minimalistic, white walls, green hedges with some colorful flowers dotted on them, and a stone pathway. The inside though was the exact opposite. It had a red carpet leading to a white door with a gold handle, some rope on the sides of the carpet, and some paintings of the previous casts throughout Total Drama. There was also a separate painting for each winner. In the room following it, there was a television (it appeared to be a bit dated) in front of a moss green sofa. It was rather large though.
"Since this season's theme is sorta ''blast from the past'' I figured that it would be cool if the elimination ceremony had a retro style to it. I will be going into more detail about this later though, so hold your questions until then." After exiting the building, it was time for their first challenge.
...
Everyone met in front of the cabins. Before they began their challenge they had to be assigned teams. "This season's teams will be the Mad Marshmallows and the Dysfunctional Drama Machines!" This caused some chatter in the group. "For the Mad Marshmallows we have: Ingrid, Laurie, Ginny, Max, Amelia, Estelle, Harry, Xavier, Larry, Jace, Archie, and Hunter." Some people started to complain about having certain members on their team. "SHHH! Alright, for the Dysfunctional Drama Machines, we have Maya, Melissa, June, Jianne, Miriam, Xena, Jacob, Charlie, Adrian, Calvin, Grayson, and Peter." As Chris said this, the logos for the teams showed up on screen. The Mad Marshmallows was a lavender circle with a marshmallow that had a raging fire on top of it. The marshmallow had a mad face on the front of it as well. The Dysfunctional Drama Machines was a beige circle with a Drama Machine that had multiple pieces of duct tape on it. The head of the Drama Machine was hanging on by a thread (wire) and was tilted slightly to the left.
"Now, I know I said that we would get started with our challenge right now, but I haven't introduced you to our lovely interns yet. First up, Virgin-I mean Virgil.." A boy with white skin and a thin build walked out of a..bush? He appeared to be Italian-Chinese and had black eyes. He had messy black hair that covered a little bit of his eyes. He wears a black beanie, a black hoodie with a red long sleeved shirt with turtleneck under it, he also wears grey jeans and sandals with socks. Very dark. "Hey." He sighed before walking back into the bush before another intern came out, this time a girl.
"This is Tess! You don't know her, but I do, so let's continue. Jeremy! You're up!" Tess raised her eyebrow before walking back into the bush. Continuing the pattern, another boy came out. He was slightly tanned and had a thin build. He had purple eyes and black hair that was styled so that his bangs covered his right eye. His outfit was very simple, being a red hoodie, black jeans, and red trainers. He also had some black headphones around his neck. "Hey, nice to meet you." And with that, he also walked back into the bush.
A girl came out after him. She had a pale apricot complexion and was very thin. She had long and red messy hair that appeared to have a snowfall of dandruff on it. Her green eyes were currently directed to a Gameguy as she quickly mashed the buttons on it, deeply focused on her game. The gamer wore a white T-shirt underneath a large red hoodie. She also wore blue jeans, and red sneakers. "Flaky! Quite a fitting name if you ask me.." Chris whispered the last part to himself and covered his mouth with his hand. She quickly raised her hand before walking back to the bush. "Sheesh Chris? Why are there so many edgy people here?" Chris heard Peter mutter this to no one in particular.
"Alright, our last contestant, CHAD!" A boy with dark brown skin came out from the bush with a stride. He had an athletic, muscular build. He had hazel eyes and black hair that was trimmed into a buzzcut. His outfit consisted of a yellow polo shirt with navy blue slacks and a pair of red Chelsea boots. He wore a navy blue bow tie on top of that. Classy. Attractive. Perfect. That was Chad. Suddenly, Chris let out a sigh. "GUYS! WHY AREN'T YOU WEARING YOUR INTERN OUTFITS!"
"Well, no offense Chris, but you wanted us to wear marshmallow suits. Not the best things to wear." Tess quietly, almost whispered, said this. No one said anything as Chris took a couple of deep breaths via Tess's requests. "Okay, you know what..fine. I GUESS it's okay if you all..wear regular clothes." All the interns smiled (with the exception of Virgil.)

CONFESSIONAL-VIRGIL (INTERN)
"I wouldn't have worn the outfit anyways." Virgil shrugged. Chris's head suddenly popped through with a glare. "Sigh. Oh right. Can't use the confessional yet."
*static*
Chris glared at Virgil. "Anyways..I have one more thing to introduce." Chris took out three statues. "This season will include three idols, so far.." Everyone said nothing, but were intrigued. "They are called Perk-Idols..yeah I'm still working on the name. SHUT UP!" Everyone flinched as Chris shouted. Larry almost started crying. Chris suddenly smiled. Talk about confusion. "The first one-" Chris pulled out a golden star."-is just your standard immunity idol. You already know how it works, if you want you can pull it out to save yourself, yada yada." Amelia hesitated for a couple of seconds before raising her hand. "Uhm, Chris? Are they just going to be scattered around the island or-" Maya rolled her eyes before smoothly pretending she was looking at the clouds.
Chris put his hands on his hips. "Alright campers! Shut your mouths or I'll turn this car a-I MEAN!" Ginny started laughing causing the others to react the same way. Chris scowled and turned red. From anger or embarrassment, I don't know. He then suddenly took out another idol. It appeared to be shaped like a comedy/tragedy mask. In the background, Jeremy could be seen with a small smile on his face. Nice.
The sudden movement and sight of a second idol caused the chatter to stop. A smirk grew on Chris's face. "As you can see, there is another idol. This one allows you to vote for someone else. So say for example, Laurie found this idol. Let's also say that ehh Grayson wanted to vote for her. Laurie could pull this out at the elimination ceremony and change his vote to..Ingrid. That's how it would work." The people mentioned in this example all looked at each other. "The final one, for now, is this!" Chris swiftly pulled out an idol in the shape of two arrows; one red and one blue. "This lets you swap ONE member from each team. So one from the Marshmallows and one from the Drama Machines." Some people raised their eyebrows, interested.
Chris then raised his arms and projected his voice. "Alright, it is time for your first challenge! For real this time, trust me. But before I begin I just want to say, you are now allowed to use the confessionals." Most people perked up at this. It had been hours since Chris had started introducing contestants. Yet somehow it was still dark out. Weird. Archie and Ingrid stayed stone faced. Same with some other contestants. "Well uhh here's the thing, we kind of don't have a challenge ready." Everyone groaned. Larry simply glared while Harry (rhyming) just went along with it. "SO! If you're smart you can probably guess what your first challenge will be. THINK OF A CHALLENGE!" Maya started playing with her hair, bored out of her mind. "So how exactly does this work Chris? This seems kinda difficult for a first challenge." Maya chirped while now putting on some more lip gloss.
"How nice of you to ask Maya, how this challenge will work is pretty basic. I like to think it's pretty simple and easy. Your first challenge is to come up with a challenge for the next episode. You'll have to come up with a creative idea, a design, and the rest is up to you! Like I said, easy. You will have until morning to work on this. So about..5 hours." Most people nodded. Melissa had already started coming up with ideas in her head. She started jiggling her leg a bit, desperate to start. She ended up almost falling. Some of the more artistic ones were also anxious to start. "By the way, I WILL be using both of your challenges in the future so make sure to make it good." Chris ran his fingers through his hair before smirking.
"Your first challenge will begin in 3!..2!..1...GO!" Everyone first got their teams together before running off to find a place to discuss. Chris stayed where he was for a little before looking to make sure no one was there. He then walked into the staff room and put his head down, knocking on the wood floors they had put in. Finally, a hollow sound was heard and he pulled on a strip of wood. It opened up to reveal..absolutely nothing. It was still dark out and the inside was pitch black. Chris quickly crawled in before closing it again.
Quick! Think of a challenge! PT.1- Dysfunctional Drama Machines
With the Dysfunctional Drama Machines, it was..hard. They had found a spot next to a river, surrounded by the forest. The problem was the team though. Melissa couldn't decide what idea to go with; A physical challenge or a mental challenge. More of the scrawnier ones were going with the mental ones knowing Chris would make them actually participate in the challenge they came up with. "I mean I have tons of ideas for a physical challenge but I can't choose that because I'm literally the epitome of klutzy but if I do.." Yeahh..Anyways, that wasn't the only problem they were having.
Calvin had tried to take on the leadership role, Peter didn't like this. "Fellow agents! We need to make a plan! You don't want to have to eliminate someone do you?" Peter frowned. "And why should we have to listen to you, Agent?" Peter said the last part with obvious sarcasm, though Calvin either didn't pick it up or just ignored him. "Uhm so, what should we do?" June mumbled while rapidly chewing her gum. "We could do a mix of both. A physical challenge with some smarts needed." A flat voice spoke out from behind the group. Xena. Her eyes darted from person to person, studying them without a doubt. Maya showed Xena a friendly smile. "I think that's a nice idea." Everyone else agreed.

CONFESSIONAL-MAYA (DYSFUNCTIONAL DRAMA MACHINES)
Maya was seen in the marshmallow filing her nails. She had a bored expression on her face as she set her filer down. "It's really not an amazing idea. I mean it's good and all..but I'm pretty sure anyone could have come up with that." Maya shrugged before smirking. "Though I do have to say, I need to keep this charade up for as long as I can. It'll help secure my place in the finale." She tossed her hair before waving her fingers.

Quick! Think of a challenge! PT.1- Mad Marshmallows
On the other side of the coin, the Marshmallows had already chosen what type of challenge it would be. Well, the Marshmallows except for Estelle. No one knew where she was. They chose a mental challenge. They just needed to figure out the actual challenge. "Well, I think it could be interesting to see a challenge about baking!" Xavier smiled and fed Cheese some more bread, this time it had some dark red jelly on it. It probably came from the bushes, I mean there's no other place he would get it from...anyways. Max, who had appeared to get her regular energetic self back, grinned widely. "I like baking! Well, it's more of 'I like eating what people bake' but I could give it a go! Switch places for once."
A gentle swishing could be heard from above. Estelle then jumped out of the tree, doing a flip during the process. "Sorry to burst your bubble, but I thought you guys had decided on doing a mental challenge." She was right, they had decided on that. "Oh..right. Well I guess we should scrap that idea." Xavier turned red from embarrassment before moving to the back of the group. Estelle blinked. Harry, who was currently looking for something in a bush, had finally noticed his team struggling. "Oh! I just thought of something. What if our challenge was to look for clues that will help us solve a mystery. It could also be us using those to help us find a creature." Harry smiled as he continued to beat around the bush. Literally. Laurie grinned. "That's a great idea! I say we choose that as our challenge."
Everyone else agreed on that. Jace, who had been writing something in a notebook, looked up and nodded. Ingrid herself even let out a verbal agreement. It was a pretty good idea.

CONFESSIONAL-Xavier (Mad Marshmallows)
Xavier was seen patting the inside of the marshmallow repeatedly. It appeared he was looking for something, or rather someone. He then turned to the camera with a slightly confused expression on his face. "Where's Cheese?"
*static*
Now they just had to plan out the challenge. "Wait, what should our creature be?" Laurie realized a new problem and was quick to say it aloud. Everyone silently thought this over in their head. "M..maybe we just come up with a new one and we could make it robotic or something..maybe?" Jace mumbled this, probably expecting everyone to turn down that idea. Instead though, he was met with words of enthusiasm and smiles. He turned red from all the attention and looked at his feet. "I think that's a great idea! Maybe the creature could be part something and part another thing?" Harry was practically talking at the light. "Maybe one part of it could be a bunny?" Xavier suggested this with a twinge of sadness in his voice. Cheese was still missing and no one knew where he was. The four people he asked didn't know where he was.
Hunter raised his eyebrow before eventually saying, "On the contrary, maybe the other part of it could be part eagle." Archie nodded and set down a small piece of paper that had a short set of words on it. "That seems like an interesting combination I guess. Where would we even get the materials to build it though?" Larry nodded at this while scratching his head. Laurie again spoke up, "Didn't Chris say that we didn't have to actually make the challenge? He just said we had to come up with a good concept or something right?" Max nodded and grinned. "I guess we'll have to just give it our best shot then huh?" Everyone looked at each other warily.
Quick! Think of a challenge! PT.1- Dysfunctional Drama Machines
Back again with the Drama Machines, they had appeared to be working on their concept. "So, let's go over this again. We will be doing a space themed obstacle course that will have space themed facts you need to answer to get to the next stage. Sounds good?" Jianne didn't wait for anyone to respond though and continued on. "To make this harder, the contestants will be on a time limit before their oxygen runs out. Obviously not actual oxygen." Jacob, after silently sitting on a tree stump, finally spoke up. "What if we added meteors that would be thrown at you. I could figure out some technology to help Chris make it." Everyone seemed to agree on this. Now they just needed to figure out how to make it come to life for when Chris used it.
Chef was washing some dishes in the kitchen while whistling. He then heard some footsteps coming behind him. He turned around to see..Chris. "What're you doing here Chris? Aren't you supposed to be with the contestants?" Chris grabbed some instant coffee powder and turned on the coffee maker. "Nah, they're going to be making a challenge themselves. You want coffee?" Chris began to brew the coffee, letting the scent fill the craft service room. Chef nodded before continuing the conversation. "Don't you think it's about time to end the episode? Well, the first part at least." Chris checked his watch, it had been three hours since they started filming, the contestants had 2 and a half hours left.
"You're right Chef. It is that time." Chris turned to look at the camera. "Well you heard it here folks! This is the end of the first episode! Will the Drama Machines settle some brewing conflict? Will one of our interns quit their job here? Who will have the best challenge? Who knows? If you want to find out though, stay tuned for the next part! Of TOTAL! DRAMA! REVENGE OF WAWANAKWA!"
