Chapter 6: Moving In

It had been almost a week since the entrance exams. Izuku was waiting around wondering when his results would get in. He knew his quirk was powerful and useful, but at the same time, he was worried he didn't get enough points. He had been staring at a fish at the dinner table. Ochako was trying to get his attention. She had been invited to have dinner with the Midoriyas.

"Deku, Deku!" Ochako said.

Izuku snapped out of his transe to see Ochako and Inko staring at him.

"Dear, should I be concerned?" Inko asked, "You've been smiling at that fish for 5 minutes straight."

"Sorry, I just kinda spaced out for a minute," Izuku said, "Waiting for those results has made me antsy."

Inko smiled. "I know, its terrible to wait for the results," she said, "I felt the same way when I enrolled. I was scared my scores wouldn't cut it."

Izuku turned to Ochako and smiled. "You did really amazing with your new abilities too," he told her, "The way you focused the gravity around your body to make yourself fly was impressive!"

"Not as impressive as you making that lancer out of aura," Ochako said, "I had no idea you were capable of that."

After dinner, Izuku was busy lifting weights and meditating. Inko walked in.

"Izuku your test results are here!" Inko shouted, "They're here."

Izuku took the envelope from Inko. HE opened it up and it was revealed to be some kind of device that shows a hologram. All Might appeared on the screen.

"I am here! With your test results young Midoriya!" All Might said, "Hahaha! You're probably surprised by this aren't you. Well, I guess I should've told you about this, but I am one of the people who is teaching at U.A this year, so it looks like we'll be seeing each other for quite a while."

Izuku was no doubt surprised seeing him.

"Now onto business with your test results," All Might said, "You did a stellar job on the written portion. But the real meat on the bones is that of the physical portion of the exam. You had performed incredibly out there taking on dozens of robots. Earning yourself a total of 70 villain"

Izuku was happy. So far this was all good news to him. Meanwhile Ochako was watching the same letter that was given to her. She had also managed to pass both portions. Her training with Izuku, and with Gunhead had paid off.

"But there's more to it than just punching robots, but also saving the lives of other people!" All Might continued, "You three managed to pull off one incredible super move saving the lives of other contestants, putting them before yourself. This has earned you 50 rescue points! The judges were amazed by your selfless action putting yourself in danger to help others. Izuku Midoriya you have earned first place earning the most points out of everyone. Pack your bags boy, because U.A is now your hero academia!"

Izuku was surprised. Not only did he pass, but he also got first place and became freshmen representative. He rushed down to tell Inko and then he called Ochako to tell her the news.

"I passed!" Izuku said, "I got in!"

"Me too!" Ochako said, "You, me and Shoto are the top 3 students!"

Inko hugged her son out of joy.

"Oh my baby!" she said crying tears of joy, "This calls for a celebration. How about I make your favorite; Katsudon!"

Meanwhile, the kid known as Katsuki Bakugo was looking at his letter. While he made it into the school, he was still ticked off. Because he didn't get first place but someone else did. His goal was to be #1, and the fact that he didn't get first place in the entrance exams was an irritation to him.

"I'll get you for this," he said.

One Month Later…

Izuku had just finished up packing his belongings that he was taking to the U.A dorms. He was very excited about his first day at U.A, taking his first step as a hero. Ochako knocked on the door before coming in and had collected all her belongings. Izuku looked behind and got a good look at her.

'God she looks so good in that uniform' he thought to himself.

"Do you have everything?" Inko asked them, coming up to the room.

Izuku and Ochako nodded. Some people were coming to move all their stuff to the U.A dorms so they wouldn't have to worry about carrying it all the way. The two of them were walking to U.A campus together.

"Man I'm so pumped to go to U.A," Ochako told her best friend, "I wonder what kind of things they're gonna have us do!"

She turned to Izuku who was muttering to himself once again. Ochako giggled and patted his back.

"Deku there's nothing to be nervous about!" Ochako said in a cheery mood, "You finally reached your dream, well at least the first part of it. And if you're worrying about if your quirks are good enough, don't. You've amazed the audience with your techniques."

Izuku smiled at what she just said. "Thanks Ocha," he said, "You always know how to cheer me up."

The two of them continued walking to U.A talking about how excited they were. Ochako told Izuku about her old dream of being a pro. She wanted to make enough money to give her parents an easier life. But now she's planning to do that for Gunhead, to repay him for taking her in after she lost her parents in that accident. Izuku believed that was sweet of her and agreed to support her in it. They finally reached U.A.

They noticed some students walking to specific classes while looking for Class 1-A. One kid in particular noticed Ochako and was eying her body rather creepily. It was a midget with purple balls on his head.

"OOOOHOHOHOHOOOO!" he said, "Come to papa you bombshell of a woman!"

He jumped at Ochako with his hands reached out. Ocako screamed and closed her eyes. The purple haired boy was inches away from coping a feel of Ochako's body, but it never came. She only heard the sound of something crashing. Izuku saved her from being grabbed by the pervy boy. OFA was flowing through his arm as a small output

"Come near my friend like that again and what comes next will be much worse," Izuku warned.

The two of them finally reached Class 1-A. Shoto was by them.

"Well, what do you know," he said, "We're all in the same homeroom."

"So exciting!" Ochako said, "I wonder what class will be like."

As soon as they opened the door, they noticed 17 other students around them. One of them had earphone jacks as ears while another student's skin was completely pink. They saw the blue-haired boy arguing with Bakugou.

"You, get your feet off that desk right now!" he said, "You're defacing the seats of heroes that came before us!"

"I see you're a real stick in the mud," Bakugou said, "I'll have fun tearing your ass."

The blue haired boy then looked at Izuku and suddenly recognized him.

"Its you," he said as he walked over to them, "I must apologize for my harsh actions the other day, "You must've realized there was more to the exam than any of us knew. For that you are beyond me."

"I find that hard to believe," Izuku said.

The boy put out his hand.

"My name is Tenya Iida, and I hope to get along with you for the next three years," Iida said.

"I'm Izuku Midoriya, and this is my best friend Ochako Uraraka," Izuku said shaking his hand.

"Ahh, the girlfriend he went to protect," Iida said.

That made the two of them blush madly.

"Nononononono its not like that," they said in unison.

Bakugo got a look at Izuku and scoffed. "So he's the one obstacle in my way."

"If you're just here to make friends, you're in the wrong place," a deadpanned voice said, breaking the mood.

Izuku flinched at that voice.

'Please don't tell me who I think that is…..'

He turned around to see a man in a yellow sleeping bag.

"What is that…." Ochako asked.

"Welcome to U.A's hero course," he said as he got up, "The name's Shota Aizawa, and I'm your homeroom teacher for the next three years."

Everyone was either confused or freaked out.

"Our first order of business, everyone take one of these and meet me outside," he said.

Izuku and company were in for a big surprise.

Class 1-A was outside listening to what Aizawa had planned for them.

"A quirk apprehension test?" Izuku asked.

"But… aren't we gonna miss orientation and the counselor meetings and all that jazz?" Ochako asked.

"If you're on the road to becoming a hero, then there's no time for such frilly nececities," Aizawa answered, "You all understand the school's reputation for freedom on campus, but that freedom goes for teachers as well."

"He has a point," Shoto said.

Aizawa turned to Izuku and called him up.

"Midoriya, you got the highest score in the entrance exam," he said, "How far can you throw a ball without your quirk?"

"Pretty far," Izuku said, "All that physical workout stuff actually helped build my muscle strength."

"Well try doing so with your quirk this time around," Aizawa said, "And don't hold back."

Izuku went to the spot with a softball in hand. He had a bit of a plan in his mind. He was gonna focus aura, and OFA into one part of his body. He channeled aura into his hands and got ready to throw. He threw the softball over 800 feet. Needless to say the crowd, with the exception of Ochako and Shoto were amazed at what he could do.

"As you see, we'll be having these tests to see what your quirks are made of and what you can do," Aizawa said, "To see whether you belong in U.A or not. Whoever comes in last place will be judged hopeless and be kicked out effective immediately."

The students gulped at Aizawa's threat. Izuku however was determined to impress.

The first trial was the 50 meter dash. Izuku got first place and was tied with Iida. His quirk was engine. It allowed him to move at fast speeds. Ochako made her clothes weightless to get the best time. There was another kid who had a naval laser from his bellybutton. The next test was grip strength. Izuku was neck to neck with a guy that had multiple arms/tentacles. For some of the tests, Shoto was using ice, and for others, he used fire.

"If I may ask, why do you always use ice with your left hand and fire on your right?" asked someone.

Shoto turned around to see that ponytailed girl looking at him.

"Oh, its part of my quirk, and also the reason why my hair is dyed 2 colors," Shoto explained, "I dyed my right side red so it signalizes me to use fire, and my left side white because vice versa."

"I see," the ponytailed girl said, "Well its a very useful quirk."

"Thank you," Shoto said.

"Yaoyorozu, you're up next," Aizawa said.

Izuku went behind Shoto and smirked. "You talked to a girl," he said.

Izuku was met with a punch in the face. It was from Katsuki Bakugou, who's quirk involved explosions.

"So you're the piece of shit who stole first place from me," he said, "I'm gonna enjoy tearing you to shreds!"

He prepared an explosion and was about to let loose. However, his explosions were diminished and he found himself wrapped in tape.

"What the hell….."

"I erased your quirk," Aizawa said, "You need to step down before you cause an unnecessary ruckus."

That one word gave Izuku a hint about who that man really was. It was Eraserhead. He had the ability to erase someone's quirk temporarily.

"Now then Midoriya, please continue."

Izuku had a new technique he had been working on and this was the best moment to use it. He channeled OFA and Aura into his arm he was throwing with. The minute he threw the ball, he released that energy and sent the ball flying high and far. He looked to Aizawa and could've sworn he had a smirk on his face.

"This kid," he said.

Throughout the tests there was another student who didn't have anything flashy at all. However he managed to get some good scores.

Izuku smirked knowing he impressed the crowd. Later on everyone was lined up and waiting for the results. Aizawa pressed a button and it showed everyone and where they were. Izuku was ranked second only to Todoroki, but was ahead of Ochako. The last person on the list was Toru Hagakure. She was whimpering because she thought her chances of being a hero were over.

Aizawa pushed the button again.

"By the way, the whole expulsion thing was just a lie," Aizawa admitted.

Everyone was shocked.

"That was just a rational deception to get you all pushing yourself to the best of your abilities," Aizawa said with a smirk.

Everyone was even more shocked at that statement. Except for the ponytailed girl.

"I'm surprised nobody else knew about that," she said, "Of course it was just a lie."
