Jubal had said her name like a question because he wasn't sure that he was really seeing her or if he was imaging things because of how tired he was. Maggie raised an eyebrow looking at Jubal.

"You forgotten what I look like already?" She teased playfully "I wasn't expecting to be greeted by you pointing your gun at me".

It took Jubal a second to process that she was actually standing in front of him, he put his gun back in it's holster and moved across their bedroom floor faster than Maggie had ever seen him move. Before she even had time to brace herself Jubal had her wrapped up in his arms which caused a groan of pain to escape from Maggie's lips. Jubal went to pull back but Maggie stopped him.

"The pain is worth it" she whispered as she hugged him back so tight ignoring the pain that was yelling at her from her ribs.

Jubal had so many questions, the main one being why the hell was she in so much pain that hugging him was hurting her. But right now he was just so glad to have her in his arms that he was trying to focus on that. He placed small kisses to her neck, up to her ear as he whispered,

"I've missed you so much baby."

Maggie ran her cheek along Jubal's gently as she found her way to his lips, kissing him slowly to begin with, letting out a soft sigh at the feel of his lips against hers for the first time in two weeks. She happily let Jubal deepen the kiss but she eventually had to pull back when she had the burning feeling in her lungs at their need for air. She lay her forehead against his cupping his face with her hands.

"You have no idea how much I have missed you babe." She placed small kisses to his lips before moving her forehead to his collarbone as she let out another groan of pain. "Ugh… this is trying to ruin my first time seeing you in two weeks."

Hearing her groan out again in pain had him really worried about her, he kissed her head running his fingers through her hair. "Come on lets get you laying down on the bed and you can tell me what's going on baby."

"The image of you laying me down on our bed again did not look like this in my head" She smirked playfully as she kissed his cheek pulling her head back to look at him.

"So you've been thinking about me then huh?" Jubal whispered smirking playfully as he placed small kisses to Maggie's lips.

"Every second. I really have missed you so much." Maggie was resting her forehead against Jubal's her eyes closed as she was caressing his cheeks with her thumbs "Babe..can you do me a favour?."

"Anything baby, what is it." He was running his hands along her arms slowly unsure as to where her pain was actually coming from and he didn't want to be adding to her pain right now.

"Can you grab me something from our freezer for my ribs." Maggie felt Jubal pull back when she mentioned her ribs, she ran her thumb along his cheek bone and smiled softly "I promise that I will tell you everything when you come back up."

"I'll be right back baby" Jubal kissed Maggie softly as he stepped back and almost ran down their stairs, he quickly checked that he locked their door, he grabbed frozen peas from their freezer wrapping a towel around them, grabbed pain killers and a bottle of water and came back up to their room.

When Jubal came back in to the room Maggie was laying in their bed with the covers around her waist and he only noticed now that she was wearing one of his t-shirts. Maggie smiled seeing him looking at his t-shirt on her.

"I took a shower as soon as I got here and there was only one thing I wanted to put on."

Jubal came walking over to her side of the bed and he sat the towel with the frozen peas inside on the bedside table and held out the painkillers in the palm of his hand "Take these before we take a look at your ribs." When Maggie took the painkillers from his hand he opened the bottle of water handing it to her and sat it back on the beside table. He moved his hands to the bottom of the t-shirt she was wearing.

"Can I took a look?."

Maggie nodded her head gently, she was laying flat on her back with her head raised by the pillow, she closed her eyes biting her lip as she felt Jubal lift her t-shirt and she heard his breath catching when he saw the bruising on her ribs.

"What the fuck happened you?" Jubal took his eyes off the bruising looking at her face before back at the bruising and he so gently let his fingertips brush along the bruising barely touching her skin.

Maggie opened her eyes when she heard Jubal swear, she reached her hand out caressing his cheek when she saw the worry so evident in his eyes. "It looks worse than it is babe, nothing is broken, they are just badly bruised."

"You sure nothing is broken?" His fingers were still so gently brushing along her skin being careful not to hurt her.

"I got them checked out, I promise nothing is broken." Maggie was actually relaxing under his touch, she smiled remembering that he really could be so gentle with her. His touch on her ribs right now reminding her of that.

"You shouldn't have let me hug you when your ribs are this badly bruised baby." Jubal took his eyes from her bruising focusing on her face, the worry was still clear on his face. As was the anger in his eyes at whoever had done this to her.

"I meant it when I said it was worth the pain. Nothing was making me stop that hug honey, absolutely nothing." Maggie ran her fingers through his hair slowly "Come lay with me and I will tell you what happened."

Jubal lifted the towel with the frozen peas inside and he gently laid them on her ribs biting his lip when she winced in pain at the initial contact. Maggie moved her hand to hold the towel in place and then pulled back the bed covers so that Jubal could climb in beside her. He quickly stripped down to his boxers and climbed in to the bed beside her. Maggie could see that he was afraid to move closer to her in case he hurt her, so she moved closer to him and smiled when she felt his arm wrapping around her kissing her head. She lay her head on his shoulder, turning her head to face him so that her forehead was resting lightly against his chin.

"What happened baby?" Jubal was running his fingers through Maggie's hair slowly, he smiled when he felt her forehead against his chin, it felt so good to be able to hold her again even if he had to be careful of her ribs.

"One of the girls thought that since I was new that she could try to make a break for it. She's only fifteen Jubal" Maggie closed her eyes swallowing hard. "Drake got his men to beat on her and then make her and the other girls watch while his right hand guy went a few rounds on my ribs."

"Where the fuck was Nestor?" Jubal held Maggie a little tighter still being careful not to hurt her, but he could hear the emotion in her voice when she talked about the girls.

"He couldn't stop it babe, it would have been too suspicious. I have to earn their trust, that goes for the girls as well as Drake and his men. If Nestor tried to stop that then it would have compromised the position he's in".

Jubal knew that Maggie was right but that didn't mean that he still wasn't angry that Nestor stood by and just watched this happen to Maggie. "That's why you haven't been able to contact me the last two weeks?".

Maggie moved her free hand to Jubal's chin and was letting her fingers brush along his goatee, it always helped her relax "I have wanted to make contact with you so many times but it was too dangerous. They have been watching every move that I make, I haven't spent a single night at that apartment, they've had me staying in the house with the girls. The phone they gave me is being tracked, I checked the sim like Ian showed me before I left. I knew then that I couldn't contact you from it."

"Remind me to thank Ian tomorrow when I go in to work for showing you that" Jubal kissed Maggie's head "Not that I'm complaining but how come you are here right now baby? Aren't you worried they are still following?."

Maggie shook her head gently "They told me that I had tonight to myself to heal, they think I'm at my apartment with Nestor. He's there but I had to come and see you, I couldn't go another day without seeing you, talking to you wasn't going to be enough. I promise I haven't put you in any danger babe."

"Oh baby I don't care if I'm in danger, not if it means I get to hold you, I just don't want them thinking that they have another reason to give you another beating." Jubal held on to Maggie placing kisses to her head, her forehead, the tip of her nose and he smiled when she lifted her head to meet his kiss as he kissed her with so much love and passion, he wasn't sure who let out the sigh first him or Maggie but it was obvious they had both missed holding each other.

Jubal broke the kiss being careful that Maggie got enough oxygen in to her lungs with how bad the bruising was around her ribs, even if they weren't broke he knew they were causing discomfort with breathing. He gently brushed the hair from Maggie's face as he lay watching her.

"How long do we have baby?" He asked in an almost whisper afraid of the answer.

"I told Nestor I would be back in the apartment tomorrow by lunch time, so you have me over night if you want babe." Maggie lifted her free hand to Jubal's cheek, she couldn't get enough of him, seeing him and touching him.

"Of course I want you to stay. This is not how I thought my day would be ending, so trust me I'm not going anywhere." Just as he said that Jubal's phone alerted him to a message, he checked it seeing that it was his sister, but he set the phone down without replying.

"You have to go to work?" Maggie wasn't sure if they had a case or not but when he put the phone down without replying she thought it was something he didn't want to see.

"No it's Jen. She's doing her nightly check in"

"Babe, let her know why you aren't replying, she will ring if you don't answer." Maggie ran her hand down to his chin letting her thumb run along his lips.

"I'd rather just lay here with you and forget that everything else exists or matters for right now."

Maggie smiled at how sweet Jubal was being, she leaned in kissing his lips "I'm right here, texting your sister won't make me disappear. Here look…"

Maggie lifted Jubal's phone opening the message from Jenny and she replied, 'Hey Jen, it's Mags. I am kidnapping your brother for the next ten hours. He will ring when I let him go.'

Jubal laughed as he was reading the message "Really baby? I think Jen will know that you wouldn't have to kidnap me."

Maggie laughed softly closing her eyes when it hurt her ribs, when she opened her eyes again Jubal had hit the send button on the message. He took his phone from her hand and set it on the bedside table again and he wrapped his arms around her again.

"How's the pain baby?" He kissed her head as his hands gently ran through her hair and along her back being careful not to hurt her ribs.

"The pain killers have kicked in, the frozen peas has numbed them, but you are what is helping me the most. Best pain killer ever." Maggie smiled as she kissed Jubal softly, when they broke apart they lay with their foreheads pressed together, just like they would when enjoying getting some time alone.
