Chapter Six – All Eyes on Three
Sugarfish, Los Angeles, CA
The total number of cameras flashing in Beth Hardy's face had gone from one to a thousand in less than an hour. Pictures of Finn Balor sharing his sushi with her at Sugarfish had gone viral. For the first time Beth was seeing compliments about her looks, as-well as death threats from people accusing her of stealing Finn Balor away from them. The whole thing was super amusing to Stephanie McMahon's daughter, after all, she hardly knew Finn. The whole thing was a publicity stunt set up by Bayley to drum up interest in the Black Heart Diaries. Stephanie had convinced her daughter to make up an entry where she spoke about her crush on Seth Rollins. The intention was to embarrass Seth and Sasha and the whole thing made Beth very uncomfortable. Still, there was something about spending time with Finn Balor that put her totally at ease. He really was the nicest guy and she felt totally comfortable being on a fake date with him.
"These tweets are hilarious. My sisters are chiming in on some of the nasty ones, I've never seen Aurora tweet so much I her life!" Beth said and Finn snickered at Aurora Rose Helmsley's ardent use of the angry face emoji.
"I wouldn't wanna be on her bad side, I mean, not again. Aurora's crazier than my ex-girlfriend," Finn Balor said and Beth Hardy looked up from her phone at Finn.
"Becky's not crazy, she's the coolest person know," Beth Hardy said and Finn gave Beth a cool grin.
" You don't know her like I do, she's crazy. Your Ma is right to keep you away from her," Finn said.
"Wow, okay Balor you just lost all your cool points," Beth said backing at the comparison of Beth Hardy and her "Ma."
"Listen, I loved Becky. She was my whole world at one point and I felt like that too. Then she used me, ran off and became a Born Again Christian, how crazy is that?!" Finn Balor said.
"Becky's not the first woman to choose Jesus over a mortal man and she won't be the last. Are you seriously saying Becky should have chosen you over the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords?" Beth said.
Finn Balor shrugged indifferently, "I guess when Jesus calls everyone goegoes running eh?" Finn said.
"I thought Becky was cool before but she's even cooler now, do you know God gave her a Gift?" Beth said.
"I don't care about Becky, I care about you. Now can we please finish our date without bringing that crazy lass up again?" Finn said.
"But we're not on a date, this is a publicity stunt, a fake date and quite frankly, I think I could even go on a real date with a man who doesn't think Becky Lynch is cool," Beth said offended and Finn laughed at her fangirliness.
"You'll come around, soon you'll see Becky for the unhinged psycho that she really is," Finn Balor said.
"Will you stop?" Beth said.
"I'm sorry, why don't we go join the boys? I'm sure AJ and Kenny would love to hang out with a cool chick like you," Finn said and Beth chuckled.
"I'm not cool," Beth said.
"That's not what Twitter says, my fans think you're the coolest chick in the world, much cooler than the last chick I dated," Finn said but Beth was not amused. "Okay I'm sorry, I won't trash Becky anymore. Let's go see the boys,"
Beth pushed her chair back and stood to her feet, "Be nice Finn, just try and be as good as you look," Beth said earnestly.
"I will try but I'm not making any promises," Finn said and he extended his hand for Beth to take, which she did and as they left Sugarfish, the whole wrestling world was watching them. Finn and Beth were now the hottest couple in the wrestling business and Stephanie and Bayley could not have been happier about it.
Full Sail, Orlando, Florida
Meanwhile in Florida, Triple H was countering all the publicity Beth Hardy was getting with some publicity of his own. He had the production crew film interviews with the NXT roster, touting how epic the match between Becky Lynch and Johnny Gargano was going to be for the NXT World Heavyweight Championship. Everyone from Rhea Ripley to Tomasso Ciampa weighed in on the match, to the point where by the end of the day, everyone was talking about it. The last interview was with Becky Lynch herself and the interview was with Triple H.
"I'll say this Hunter, at least Johnny Gargano has the balls to face me next week on NXT. It takes a real man to go one-on-one with the Man and let's be honest Hunter, there's very few men who can handle the Man. If Johnny Gargano wants to step up, I have no problem knocking him down," Becky said.
"That's a wrap," the prodcution director said and Shawn came over to Hunter and Becky.
"Guys that was great. This match is going to be all anyone is talking about, even I'm looking forward to it and I know what the outcome is!" Shawn said and Hunter shook Becky's hand.
"See, I told you. You got nothing to worry about, my wife will never get one up over on me. The Black Hearts can do whatever they want, as long as you listen to us, you'll be fine," Hunter assured Becky.
"Thanks Boss, I'm gonna say thanks to everyone and then I'm off to New York to see Bianca and Bliss," Becky said and Shawn and Hunter watched her leave.
"I'm glad she's calmed down," Shawn said and Hunter nodded.
"Yeah, I thought she was going to go off on Steph over this thing with Beth and Finn," Hunter said.
"She still might go off, I just hope Bliss and Bianca can keep her calm for the rest of the week," Hunter said. "If there's one thing my ex-wife knows how to it, it's how to destroy her competition,"
"Steph's going to have a hard time destroying Becky with Seth and the God girls watching her back," Shawn said and Hunter nodded and they left to check on the rest of the NXT roster before wrapping things up for the day.
Miguel's, Midtown, New York City, NY
Charlotte Flair was hanging out with Bianca and Alexa while the Street Profits were talking to HayMac about their impending wedding day. Bianca and Alexa would much rather have been talking to HayMac but Charlotte was in such a sour mood, they just had to address the tall blond elephant in the room and find out what was bothering her.
"So, how are things going with AJ Styles?" Alexa asked Charlotte and the Queen shrugged.
"Okay I guess," she said and Bianca shook her head unimpressed.
"That means they're not going well at all; you're clearly bored with AJ Styles. Your eyes aren't dancing, your face isn't sparkling. You guys aren't having a good time together are you?" Bianca asked Charlotte and she sighed.
"I don't want to talk about this, let's talk about our match at Wrestlemania instead," Charlotte Flair said trying to change the subject.
"What is there to talk about? I'm a whoop your butt, 1-2-3. That's all there is to that Wrestlemania story," Bianca replied confidently.
"We should talk about this Charlotte, why aren't you clicking, what's going on?" Alexa Bliss turning the topic back to AJ Styles.
"Okay well if you insist on talking about it," Charlotte said flicking her hair out of her face. "Things were going well initially, then Finn Balor and Kenny Omega started hanging out with AJ and his mood really started to change,"
Bianca and Bliss exchanged glances, "How do you mean, what changed?" Bianca asked Charlotte as the Street Profits and HayMac came back into Miguel's to join them.
"He just got moodier. AJ's such an easy-going guy and he's so affectionate towards me usually. But over the last few weeks, he's been having all these conversations with his Bullett Club friends. I think they're up to something but I'm so out of the loop since Steph got fired. If something is going on, I have no idea what it is, all I know is that going out with AJ isn't as fun as it used to be," Charlotte Flair said and she looked directly at Bianca, "I'm starting to miss your husband,"
Bianca scowled, "That is not funny Charlotte," she said severely and Alexa changed the topic again.
"We might know what's going on with AJ, why don't you leave it to us and let us fix this? Don't give up on him yet Charlotte, this might just be a temporary bump in the road. Don't jump off the AJ Styles bandwagon yet, okay?" Alexa said and Charlotte shook her head.
"Lex, I'm already off and I'm starting to look for better ways to occupy my time," Charlotte said with a cheeky smile.
"As long as you don't look in my husband's direction that's fine but I think you should give us a chance to fix things with AJ Styles before you go exploring your options Charlotte," Bianca Belair said and Charlotte twirled her hair.
"Bianca, you are so predictable. You guys got one week to fix this thing with AJ, if you can't fix him, I'm breaking up with him," Charlotte said.
"But if you break up with him, you won't have a date for HayMac's wedding," Alexa Bliss said.
"So? You're not seeing anyone, we can go together," Charlotte said to Alexa and Bianca chuckled.
"Nah, I think Lexi can do better," she said and Charlotte blew Bianca's comment off as HayMac returned with the Street Profits.
"You need a date for the wedding Bliss? Look no further than right here," Angelo Dawkins said confidently.
Bianca nodded with approval, "I like that idea, see, I told you Alexa, you can do better than Charlotte Flair," Bianca said.
"Make all the jokes you want Bianca, you better fix AJ Styles before I break the little guy's heart into tiny Phenomenal pieces," Charlotte said and she left to go to the ladies room and the Street Profits and HayMac wondered what she was talking about.
"What's wrong with the Pheonmenal Couple?" Hayworth Helmsley asked Bliss and Bianca.
"Things aren't going so well right now but we know why that is and of course, it is Bayley and Stephanie related," Bianca said as Montez kissed her on the lips gently. "Stephanie and Bayley are on a mission to get back at us and the DX family for getting her fired from the WWE and AJ's been sucked into their web of wickedness with Finn Balor and Kenny Omega,"
"But AJ's one of the nicest guys in the world," MacKenzie said. "I was really hoping he would come to the wedding,"
"He still might be able to come but if he's been sucked into this vortex of venom along with Beth Hardy, the last week before you two get married is going to have us working around the clock to make sure he gets out of that thing alive, along with Beth Hardy," Bianca said.
"Finn Balor's worked with Stephanie before, if we get him, we get them all," Bliss said.
The Street Profits exchanged glances with Bliss and Bianca, "We know the Bullett Club pretty well, why don't we try to help you guys with this?" Montez said.
"Because the last thing Seth would want is for you guys to get involved in God's business," Bianca replied.
"If we can clear it with Seth, will you guys let us help?" Dawkins asked Bianca.
"Yes," Bliss and Bianca said in unison and the Street Profits called Seth Rollins immediately and asked him if they could help with the Bullet Club problem.
"This could be fun, with Montez and Angelo on board, maybe this won't be the most depressing pre-wedding week of all time," Bliss said and Bianca nodded.
"I love working with my husband and I know he'd do anything for Charlotte Flair, well, almost anything," Bianca said and she laughed along with Alexa and Charlotte Flair came back to the table wondering what was so funny.
"Hello?" Charlotte said answering her cell-phone. It was Stephanie McMahon.
"Hey Char, I need your help. Are you still in New York with Bliss and Bianca?" Stephanie asked Charlotte.
"Yeah, we're at Miguel's, why?" Charlotte said.
"Becky's on her way to join her little friends, when she gets there, I need you to announce that my daughter Beth Hardy and Finn Balor will be going to the HayMac wedding in Clearwater, Florida next week," Stephanie said and Charlotte gulped.
"Sure thing Steph," Charlotte said and Stephanie hung up leaving the Queen with a cruel smile on her face. Nothing gave her more joy then messing with Becky Lynch, she didn't even see the correlation between the state of her relationship with AJ Styles and the task Stephanie had just given her to do. When Charlotte re-joined the table, Bianca gave her a knowing look.
"Are you sure you wanna make the Man mad Charlotte?" Bianca asked the Queen. "God told me what Stephanie just asked you to do, if you want to have a long and happy life, I suggest you pick a side because you can't have it both ways. You're either with us, or you're against us. The choice is yours,"
Charlotte looked at Bianca unimpressed, "I do what I want Bianca, nobody tells me what to do," Charlotte replied, "Not even God,"
"Okay," Bianca said soberly, "Don't say I didn't warn you,"
Charlotte ignored the stern warning from Seth's Treasurer of Secrets and waited for the Man to arrive in the very city she kicked Charlotte Flair out of. When it came to choosing between the Man and Stephanie McMahon, Charlotte Flair was not yet ready to drop her allegiance to the Black Heart Family, even if Bianca's words were all the help she was going to get.
