NINJAGO HIGHSCHOOL: CHAPTER SIX: LLOYD'S AFTERNOON

Lloyd went straight to his room when he went into his house. His dad was in his office, and his mom was in her room, so he didn't have to greet anyone. There wasn't much he could DO besides text his friends or watch TV. He took out the permission slip for the gamer club, and was thinking about how he would bring it up to his parents. Was he supposed to say "Hey mom, dad, I want to join a gamer club."? That sounded weird to him. Beyond that though, Lloyd hasn't PLAYED a game in a long time. He just got bored of it, and uses his Xbox to play DVDS and Netflix. Maybe Cole would be a good person to learn gaming from...nah. Kai hangs out with Lloyd so much, he didn't want to bother him with something like game training. Jay was with Nya a lot too, and wouldn't be the best for learning how to play games. Lloyd was scared that Cole might of been his only choice, but then remembered Zane. Zane was a nindroid, he'd be the perfect coach for gaming! Lloyd texted Zane about it. He said sure, he could help him out with it tomorrow, and to come to his place after school. "Great." Lloyd said to himself. Now he just needs the permission slip signed.

Time passed, and it was dinner. Lloyd and Misako sat there, eating chicken alfredo, while Garmadon was in his office, eating. "You couldn't ask him to eat with us?" Lloyd complained. "He's-" Lloyd cut Misako off. "Busy, I know that. Not everything has to be work though." Misako rolled her eyes. "With how much he's payed to be principal, I'm sure you can understand why he's working so much: To keep his job." Lloyd sighed and kept eating his food. "Oh yeah mom, I wanted to join this gamer club." He got the permission slip and slid it over. "Just needs a parent signature." Misako looked it over. "Hmm...Lloyd do you even play games?" "Well...not really. But it seems nice, so why not?" Misako handed back the slip. "We'll talk to your dad about it." Lloyd groaned. "Ughhh why does HE need to be involved? Only one parent has to sign it!" "I know Lloyd, but it isn't that simple, I need your dad's input." Lloyd groaned again. "Fine, let's finish eating, then talk to dad." Misako nodded, and they went back to eating their food.

Misako and Lloyd were waiting outside the office door. They've been outside it for a minute or two, scared to interrupt Garmadon. He likes to be super focused, and can't stand interruptions. Misako grabbed the handle. "I'll go in, just wait for a bit." Lloyd nodded and stepped back. Misako walked into the office and tapped Garmadon's shoulders. "What is it?" He asked, slight irritation in his voice. "Well dear, Lloyd wants to join this club for school. I thought I'd talk to you about it first." Garmadon turned his head to Misako, and looked at the paper. "Gamer club...absolutely not." He turned back to his computer and papers. Misako was caught by surprise. "Well what's the problem?" Garmadon sighed. "I've seen the punks that run it, and I do NOT need Lloyd falling into that crowd." Lloyd was getting super annoyed now. Why does his dad only get involved with his life when he's trying to do something fun? "Dear, Lloyd isn't going to 'be a punk', he's just going to play some video games, make more friends, you know?" "Misako, I am not letting him join them. His current friends are good enough, minus that Cole kid, and I don't need him obsessing over those vidoe games!" Misako sighed and walked out. There was no use in arguing with Garmadon, he doesn't relent easy. Misako closed the door and shrugged at Lloyd. "Sorry, your dad's foot is down." Lloyd sighed. "Thanks for the help anyway." He then went to the stairs, to his room. Misako looked at the door, then Lloyd, then the paper, that Lloyd forgot to ask for.

It was around the time Lloyd went to sleep, and got into his bed. No gamer club...whatever, did he really want to join them? Harumi may be disappointed, and U.V would probably mock him for the rest of the school year. Lloyd sighed again and turned off his lamp. While trying to sleep, he heard something slide under his door. He got up, and found two pieces of paper. One was the permission slip...which was signed by Misako. "How the?" Lloyd asked himself, confused. He thought his dad said no, and his mom couldn't do anything about it. He took a look at the second paper, which was written by his mom. "Signed it anyway, I know you want to do something else with your time, and I won't deprive you of some friends and fun. I'll talk to your dad, he won't do anything crazy, I promise. Just don't bother him for a bit." Lloyd smiled a little, the last part wasn't gonna be hard, he barely interreacted with his dad anyway. He went to his backpack, and put the permission slip into it. After that he went to bed and slept. He wasn't going to get much good sleep, but he'd be a little happy.
