CHAPTER 5

Naruto was waiting impatiently for his name to be read out from the list of new teams he hoped he would be together, with two people he called his brothers.

"… Team 5 Menma Uzumaki, Makoto Uchiha and…" after a little bit of silence to get some anticipation Iruka called out the next member of team "Naruto Uzumaki will be under leadership of Mamoru Sarutobi" Iruka continued calling out names of the other teams but 3 boys were to happy to listen.

"YES!" both Naruto and Makoto being two loudest boys in the class and being together in team was really predictable "Naruto, Makoto QUIET the class didn't end"

*later this day*

30 years old man with black hair and brown eyes looked at his young chargers 'so here we have hyperactive Uchiha, blond prankster container, lastly red head that just tries to not look as exited as the other two are'

"before we start anything, I would like to start with telling about yourself" he pause for a sec and continued "I'll start, I am Mamoru Sarutobi I like going to spa to relax, I train rather often, my objective is to train young genin to become excellent shinobi"

"so let's start with the blond" Memoru concluded his monologue.

"I'm Naruto Uzumaki I really like Ramen, I love my family and friends and will do anything to protect them and my dream is to become A Hokage! Oh and I like to prank people" Mamoru just looked at him knowing that part all of the village was being careful to not become a target for his pranks, he looked forward to the Menma.

"I'm Menma Uzumaki I really like barbecued beef, same as my brother here I love my family and friends, and will do anything to protect them, my dream is to become renowned kenjutsu master" 'hmm interesting seems I will need to see how good he is with his style'

"and last but not least the hyperactive black haired boy" he didn't even have to look at him

"I am Makoto Uchiha/Uzumaki" black haired man just thought 'right he was adopted by Aiko after a lot of asking her for that by him' "I like to eat sushi, I want to protect my family and friends no matter the cost, and I want to rebuild the branch as its own clan"

"alright as it's all done and we know each other somewhat, I want all of you to show up in training field number 5 tomorrow on 8 am we will see if you guys deserve the genin title show up at 8AM"

*next day 8AM*

the 3 boys were wearing their ninja attire, and waiting in the field for their Sensei, they came here at 7AM to plan out what to do.

Mamoru just slowly entered the field and scanned the surroundings.

The field was covered in sand and some trees around the field, with small creek running through the field.

"So everyone is here I see, before we start the test I have to say this once" he had the full attention of his young pupils "if you don't pass this test you will be send back to Academy, and there is no buts about that" he looked at their faces to just see unwavering determination in their eyes.

"hah, I see that won't scare you so let's get over the rules of how to pass this test" he just showed small scroll before continuing "YOU guys have to get this scroll, but the one that has the scroll on him will go back to Academy, you have till 10 AM" he paused for a second to let the information to seep in "you can use whatever means necessary to get the scroll"

"BEGIN!" all of them jumped away from each other

Naruto was the first one to act conjuring 3 shadow clones and ordering them to charge the jounin, while the real one regrouped with the other two.

Mamoru didn't really attack the boys or try to defeat the clones he was simply testing out blonds ability 'hmm seems like he can use kage bunshin rather well' he thought while batting one of the clones towards other clone that was charging at him 'and his taijutsu isn't that bad too' with 3 quick jabs he dispelled all 3 clones.

The very moment he dealt with the clones jounin had to jump away from the electrified stream of water coming straight at him 'good tactic but It doesn't really help you with getting the scroll' then the barrage of kunai infused with fuuton began, while Menma kept up the pressure of the water Makoto started his own charge with his weapon brandished and infused with raiton this time.

Makoto's eyes were bright red and always looking around him but being focused on Mamoru, while Mamoru tried many times to hit him with normal taijutsu, he was being denied by onslaught of the distance attacks, one kunai was particularly close to his face but he quickly redirected it towards Makoto forcing him to jump away from him, then he saw the smirk on his face, Makoto had in his hand the scroll.

"Makoto throw it towards me!" the red hairs request was fulfilled "now let's finish it before the time is up" Mamoru couldn't believe that they were able to get the scroll in an hour 'well let's see how far can I push them before they break' "well let's turn it up a notch boys" saying that he slowly took out his two Sai's and was slowly rotating it "don't understand me wrongly I'm not braking rules nobody said I couldn't try and recover the scroll" he abruptly stopped the circular motion of his 2 blades.

While they anticipated the charge they didn't except him to be so quick, in split second all of them were flying in 3 different directions Menma saw that he didn't have the scroll, while their sensei had it in his hip.

"come let's see how good brats like you really are!" 'this should rile them up slightly'

while they didn't have a chance against a jounin they wouldn't give up even if it meant broken bones. Naruto creating many more clones and ordered them to attack from distance,

Menma pulled out his katana and got into his stance while looking at Makoto who did the same, their attack began with clones keeping the barrage of kunai's and boys charging towards the enemy. Mamoru couldn't help but smile at thought of teaching those guys.

*hour later*

all three young genin were panting on the grass, looking fully defeated.

"firstly you boys have done amazingly and should be proud of yourselves"

the first one to retort was Naruto "But we lost we have to go back to Academy!"

"hah, firstly you almost bested A jounin while being genin together, secondly you passed the test! Congratulations" Mamoru just smiled at their confused faces "their are two reasons for your pass, firstly your teamwork was excellent, secondly you had the scroll for a while"

he waited for a second before all three genin started to shout because of their triumph, while jounin just shook his head slightly.

"from tomorrow we will start doing the missions, I want you to show up before the Hokage tower at 8 AM DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR?!" he waited for a second before they uniformly retorted standard YES SIR

later that night

Hiruzen was sitting at his desk looking at Mamoru asking him about his opinion about the 3 boys, he invited Asuma, Kurenai, Kakashi to listen to their reports too

"let's start with team 5" Hokage knew this topic was rather hard cause of Kakashi but he saw this as best possible arrangement of teams "I would like to hear about how well do you think they will perform and about anything that might be problem in the future"

"Yes Hokage-Sama, firstly I think that all 3 of them are ready to become part of the shinobi force, while they are about medium to high level genins they still lack experience in real life

their teamwork is astounding lastly I don't see any problem arising in the future if things will go as they are now"

"good now let's go for the next one in line, Team 7 Kakashi I want your report" while it would seem like normal order from the leader to most everyone in the room felt slight killer intent leak out of Hiruzen.

Kakashi just casually stepped to the front "I think that the team I got assigned I good they lack teamwork which is to be expected when you see someone you don't even know in the slightest I can easily correct that with time" everyone noticed the slight irritation in Kakashi's voice "every single member of the team gives something useful from themselves,

Sai being most experienced, Sasuke is the prodigy of a current year and lastly Sakura is simply really good with theoretical side"

"I hope that what you said is correct and there won't be any problems in the future." Hokage pause for a second before continuing "kurenai, what about team 8?"

Kurenai being the newest jounin had to calm her nerves before she gave her report

"while my team as Hokage knows is specialized in searching for targets, but they seem to show potential in other fields for example Kiba who sees Naruto as his rival and partner in training his fighting abilities, hinata is really shy and has self-confidence problems but I think I can deal with it after sometime and shino is just quiet. Ah I would like to ask for cooperation training with team 5 once in a while."

"hmm, interesting so let's finish it with team 10 report, Asuma" Hiruzen just looked at his son

Asuma just stepped forward puffing out some smoke "while their team lacks some kind of better teamwork mostly because of incompatible personalities of two genins I think they will be able to put that aside and work together, additionally I would like to ask for the same thing that Kurenai asked but with her and Mamoru's team."

few days later

"why are we doing these missions!" blond boy was shouting for about 30 minutes while they were still painting the fence, they painted this fence 3 times this week "I hate these missions"

"Naruto it's better, then babysitting those children" at even thoguht of this all 3 boys shuddered "or capturing Tora, I still have scars from the last attempt" while Menma was right it was still tiresome to do these CHORES.

"Sensei when are we gonna do some harder mission?" this time it was Makoto that asked.

"if you guys will finish painting this fence in 10 minutes then maybe we'll try to get you some mission" the jounin himself was getting tired of these missionsand could understand their irritation cause he himself felt that.
