That next morning, Stripes bounded out of bed excited about today, that sheand her mom were moving nearer to the forest grabbing her adventure pack after putting on herfavourite red shirt, going doenstairs two paws at a time instead of slidingdown the banister, knowing ifsheandBert ever hada house, there would haveto bea slide instead ofstairs smirking, makimg Beth chuckle seeing her little kit excited, instead ofworried getting in thejeep, after packingboxes.
"Ready to go, to our new home, did you tell a certain somebody, what was happening?" she asked Stripes.
"I was keeping ita surprise, you know, plus you told me last minute, so I didn't get a chance." Stripes replied while listening to theradio, imagining all the fun sheandBert couldhave along with the others, so was hoping thatBert wasn't worrying because she had not shown up, knowing sometimes coming to thehouse.
They then reached the new house by mid-afternoon, so Stripes was helping her mom unpacking, so was going to findBert stunned seeing him there along with Melissa and Ralph with a welcome wagon impressed that it was her and Eth moving into the house nuzzling their noses which they thought cute, knowing things would go well, for them making Melissa andRalph agree.
"It was last-minute, and was scared, until my mom explained." she told him.
"That's good, as I would miss yoh, if that happened." Bert told her.
They were hanging out together, but Stripes was excited about living closer to the forest, giving them ideas, like sleeping over which Stripes liked the soundof, makimg Bert agree, hopimg that Cyril would not wreck things, guessing Beth knew about him, makimg Stripes get it hopimg that Cyril wouldn't wreck the fun makimg Bert understand, assuring her that wouldn't happen, and she could help them when that happened.
"Stripes sweetie, I need your help unpacking!" Stripes heard Beth call.
"I shouldget goimg, I'll see you later, okay?" she said winking.
She found her way back to the new house seeimg her om there, unloading boxes from the jeep and moving-trailer, helping her bringing them inside and helpimg her includimg finding her new room, unpackimg her stuff, putting glow-in the dark stars on the wall near her bed, which helped her fall asleep sometimes putting fresh batteries in her walkie-talkie hopimg Bert wasokay, hearing him on the walkie-talkie makimg her giggle, her furry cheeks goingpink, just asher mom walked in.
"The room looks good sweetie, plus I have to go to thde store to get supplies, alright?" Beth said naking her nod.
"You think they'll like it, the welcome basket I mean?" Bert asked Melissa and Ralph, as they were makimg a welcome basket for Stripes as she and Beth were their new neighbours knowing how cute Berg and Stripes were together, guessing that was why the male kit was anxious about this, seeing him helping despite being a little clumsy knowing Stripes foundthat cute.
"Relax she's going to love it, like sheloves you." Ralph assuredhim.
After they were done, he was taking the welcome-basket to Beth and Stripes's house, leaving it on the porch, duckimg into an nearby bush hearing a jeep pulling in, peekimg out, seeing it was Beth's relieved, as the other forest rangers except her knew abouthim and the others or could talk to tnem, seeing her grinning picking up the basket, going inside, makimg Stripes impressed seeimg it was from Bert and his friends.
"I think somebody's outside, I can smell him!" Stripes said smirkimg.
She saw Bert hiding in a bush near the porch, wo what he was doimg there, helping him up, understanding, hugging him makimg him chuckle unaware Beth was watching smiling, hearing her walkie-talkie going off, hearing that she was needed at the ranger station, jumping into the jeep, taking off makimg Stripes worry.
"You don't think Cyril did something?" she asked.
"I don't think so, probably somebody needs her help." Bert assured her.
