It was morning again. Rey enjoyed being able to sleep with Ben in the same bed. She never woke up in the middle of the night anymore. She padded to the kitchen for breakfast and saw Rose cooking something already. Ben was behind her quietly instructing her on what to do.
"It turns out you aren't the only one who needs cooking lessons," he said without looking at her. "Just a dash of salt, there you go."
"I told him I knew how to cook."
"He didn't listen." Rey laughed.
They sat down to eat. The food was good, Ben definitely did know how to cook. It was rich fare that she wasn't used to having. She emptied her plate but her palate was rather overwhelmed, so she opted for water rather than any of the juices in the fridge to was down her meal.
Ben leaned back. "You need more than just cooking lessons," Ben told Rey, "you need to train". He turned to Rose, "as do you."
"I've had training with the resistance." Rose crossed her arms.
"Doesn't mean you can't use more. There are certain ways a stormtrooper is taught to act that I'm pretty sure the resistance doesn't know. I do, I've spent years training with them." Ben also crossed his arms. "I know both of you know how to hold your own. I've seen it. I've even been at the receiving end of it at times." He absentmindedly stroked the scar on his face. "I just want to make sure that if anything happens you two are safe. I brought you into this viper's nest and I'd rather you didn't get bit or rather be immune to poison."
"Alright," Rey ceded. "Where do we start?"
"By finding out where you are." He walked to a communications panel. "LN-287 come to my training room immediately."
"LN-287?"
"I've trained with her often. I trust her to give you a run for your money. Also, you need an opponent you haven't fought." Ben smiled in anticipation. He would enjoy watching this. It would also be nice to see Lain again. For whatever reason he missed the stormtrooper.
Five minutes later LN-287 walked into the training area of Ben's quarters. All three saw the hesitation when the stormtrooper noticed Rose and Rey. LN squared her shoulders than face Ben. "Supreme Leader, what can I do for you?"
"One, it seems you haven't gotten the memo, but I no longer go by supreme leader. I am simply Proctor."
"My apologies Proctor."
Ben rolled his eyes. "Enough with the formalities Lain, you know me too well for that."
"Of course, Kye." There was a smile in Lain's voice.
"Kye?" Rey questioned.
"When you start beating the living hell out of one another on a regular basis nicknames become a thing." Ben shrugged. "We became friends after Snoke's death, once I no longer had his presence leering over me." There was affection in Ben's eyes as he looked at the stormtrooper.
"How much do you trust her?" Rose asked. She didn't want to be suspicious of a person Ben obviously cared for but on this ship, she had no other choice.
"As much as I trust either of you."
"I'll take your word for it."
"Lain take of your helmet and let them see you."
She pulled of her helmet to reveal an umber skin tone and light grey eyes.
"I'm Rey," she held out her to Lain, "I'm Kye's," she smiled at the nickname, "lover."
"Finally, he mooned over you for so long," Lain stated.
"I'm Rose."
"It's nice to meet both of you." She looked to Ben. "I take it they are here to help with the plan?" Ben nodded. "Good. Also, I have information for you when you get the chance. It's nothing big, well it might be, we're not sure just yet."
"Tell me," he indicated that she should sit on one of the benches. When she sat, he joined her.
"Well first, from the information we got from on our contact on the bridge, Hux transferred the officer that suggested to use the weapon as you know. What we found out recently is that shortly after the transfer the officer went down with the ship as it exploded. We got our hands on the crew manifest of that ship and noticed it was full of people, officers, stormtroopers and others who were particularly blood thirsty and violent. These people had also been at some point in time in the view of Hux. We're not sure what it means yet. Second, it wasn't a group of stormtroopers who sabotaged the weapon, it was someone with command level access." She paused chewing on her next piece of information. "From the security feeds you allowed us to access it seems to be that it was Hux, but I hesitate to truly think it was him. What would he have to gain by such a move?"
"When I spoke to him yesterday, he said that he didn't like needless death. This weapon is the epitome of needless death." Rose smiled. "I have an idea to test him, and we will need you to do it." She looked and Lain.

Hux's boots clicked on the hard floor as he walked down the hallway. He had just delivered the necessary orders to the stormtroopers and officers in charge of the weapon. He was lost in his mind, thinking about Rose and how she looked on the bridge yesterday morning that he didn't noticed the noise coming from around the corner.
"Well maybe you shouldn't do that then." It was Rose's voice that said that then he preceded to hear a smack. He walked quickly around the corner and spotted Kylo balling up his fist to hit a stormtrooper who seemed to be without their armor. The girl Rey was there as well, watching with a maniacal look in her eyes. Rose was bringing back her hand to hit the stormtrooper again. He rushed in and grabbed her wrist before she could make contact.
He pushed her against the wall. "Enough," he told her. He stared at her and felt his breath quicken at her nearness. He couldn't seem to look away from her. He wanted to kiss her, wanted to feel his lips on hers. He was moments away from leaning in when he heard the stormtrooper make a noise of pain. He pulled away from Rose and straightened his uniform. He looked at Kylo. "I expected better of you, Proctor. This act smells of Snoke." Kylo looked down in shame. Hux squatted down in front of the bruised stormtrooper. "Let's get you to the med bay." He held out a hand and helped her up. He turned back to Kylo. "Even before your foray into the rebellion you were too checked out to realize that this type of act isn't the First Order anymore." Hux sneered and led Lain away.
As he walked away, Hux was suddenly afraid. He didn't know how Kylo would react to comment. There had been a change in the First Order. Once Kylo spent more time in his quarters than stalking about the ship, the crew seemed to relax and with the strategic disposal of certain antagonistic people the ship almost seemed peaceful. Kylo was now actually taking an interest in what went on in the ship and Hux was concerned the peace that had been achieved would be washed away. But he told himself, Kylo did seem different. He hoped that that was a good thing. Hux did know that Kylo had the ability to make or break the First Order. He didn't know if he could trust Kylo not to break it.

Rose was having trouble catching her breath. Her wrist was tingling from where Hux grabbed it. He had been so very near. She flexed her hands. She had wanted to touch him. She wanted to run her finger through his hair, pull him close and kiss him gently. She felt like he needed some gentleness in his life. Like in the First Order seemed harsh, especially growing up with Snoke as your parental figure.
She was silent as they walked back to Ben's rooms to await Lain once she was fixed up from their administrations. Rose did feel bad that her plan was to have Hux witness them beating up Lain. She didn't want to hurt the stormtrooper, but she wanted to force Hux's hand. She wanted to see how he would react to such outward violence. He didn't disappoint. He even scolded Ben which was definitely a sight to see. He didn't get chastised often and Rose thought Ben needed more of that. He was too high and mighty sometimes. As Rose thought about it so was Hux. It must come with the territory of being Snoke's protégé. Rose was very glad that monster was dead.

Hux was in a state as he walked back to his office. He locked his door so that only he or he guessed Kylo could walk in. He used the highest security code when he wanted privacy. Kylo was the only other one who knew that code. Kylo had never used it to break his privacy and Hux didn't think he ever would. That was one line they never crossed with each other. If that code was enacted they stayed away from each other. It was the best that they could do.
He paced around his office. He had a boner again. It popped up after he touched Rose and though about kissing her. It hadn't gone away in the fifteen minutes it took him to make sure LN was secure in the med bay and walk to his office. He couldn't risk slipping off the ship two nights in a row. He didn't want people to get suspicious especially now that Kylo was back again. He flopped down in his chair behind his desk. He unbuttoned his pants to let his hard on spring free. He disliked taking care of himself in his office in the middle of the day but if he didn't, he wouldn't be able to concentrate on anything else for the rest of the day.
He grabbed his shaft and started stroking softly. Images of Rose came to his mind. He didn't push them away for once. He let himself imagine her ridding him and seeing the extasy on her face. That simple image took him almost to his climax. He startled back into the present when he heard his door open. He turned to find Rose standing there looking very intently at him.

Lain joined them about ten minutes later. The med droids had patched her up relatively quickly. Most of her injuries had been superficial.
She smiled as she walked in and took off her helmet. "He made sure I was taken care of before he left. He also wanted me to tell him if anything like that ever happened again because he would take of it, even if it was our Proctor." She winked at Ben.
"It worked," Ben said softly.
"Don't act so surprised." Rose stuck her tongue out at him.
"We need to push this." Rey put forth. "We need to see where his newfound compassion end, if it does. We need to make sure he knows we know and that we are okay with it."
"I need to go to him." Rose rubbed her hands anxiously. She didn't know if she could control herself the next time she was in close contact with him and she didn't know if she wanted to. "Where is he now? Can you find out?"
"Yes," Ben quickly sat at his desk and started searching through his security system. "He's in his office. Interesting."
"What?"
"He's enacted a high-level security code. Only I know it besides him."
"Do you know why?" Rey asked.
"He wants privacy. That's the code we both used when we needed to be left alone. Neither of us broke it." Ben switched on the video feed that showed Hux's office. "I don't think you need to concern yourself with breaking his privacy, Rose. I'll give you the code. Go seduce our general."
Rose nodded, received the code and left.
