How life is and the Return
Back with another one. This chapter will be just as simple as you think. It will briefly cover their school life and return to camp. If you can't tell, I am trying to closely follow the main plot, but putting some small twists.
I was originally going to do a legitimate chapter of Percy and Annabeth experiencing school life together and their struggles, along with meeting Tyson. But that idea was shut down because it honestly doesn't have much to do with the plot.
I also really appreciate all of you that review, it's like small motivations to write better. Plus, it's good feedback. Although I see your reviews and stuff, I will not respond. At least, in story. If you want, tell me to PM you and I can respond then. Or just PM me. I don't know.
Anyway, do you want me to make the story more OC? I'm honestly open to opinions. I can put in some more OC deviations to the plot. Let me know what you think!
Disclaimer: I do not own PJO
Percy was hot and bothered.
But not in that way.
Looking around, he could see streets lined with buildings, all looking like mini shopping centers. It was uncontrollably hot but humid, as if a layer of fog was dispersed everywhere and heated by the sun.
This made it very uncomfortable at all the wrong places.
Raising his hand to shield his eyes from the sun showed that it was translucent. After a quick gasp and look downward he realised his entire body was translucent. This meant only one thing.
Percy was dreaming.
While walking along the road, he deduced this could not be San Francisco or anywhere in California for that matter. Words materialised themselves in his head.
Orlando, Florida.
Ah, so he was having a lucid dream of Florida.
Nice.
Obviously he was sarcastic. What the Tartarus was he doing in Florida? All the shops seemed too bright and the sidewalk too hot. It was annoying. The reason soon became clear as a familiar figure ran up to him.
"Perce! Perce! What are you doing here?! Oh, your dream Percy." One of his best friends, Grover Underwood stood in front of the dreaming demigod. Percy just stared at him, wondering what was going on.
"Well, that doesn't matter. What does matter is that I got way in over my head and I need your help!" Grover violently shook when a massive roar was heard from behind and part of a huge lumbering figure was shown.
Looking down, Percy noticed what Grover was wearing. A pure white skin-tight dress that looked terrible on him. They covered his goat legs but looked impossible to run in. He also wore these pure white pumps that somehow fit on his goat hooves. His beanie too, was changed. Instead of the ususal red-orange beenie, it was a pure white veil covering not only his face, but small horns as well.
Percy finally spoke. "Grover, what the fuck is going on?!"
Another roar was heard. Grover looked over his shoulder, terrified. "No time to explain Perce. Just come help me! I'm trapped but know you can find me!" With that, he started trotting past Percy.
"Wait!"
Grover stopped and snapped his head back towards Percy. "What? I need to get going!"
Percy felt so confused. "First off, where did you go? And how do I find you?"
Grover gave a nervous laugh. "I went somewhere that satyr's don't return from. I'm looking for an ancient relic that I believe will help us find the great god Pan." Grover had this look in his eyes that made Percy softly smile.
Then his expression turned fearful as he looked behind Percy. "As for finding me, we're linked! Follow our inner redar!"
Not waiting for a response, Grover dashed away once more, pumps click-clacking on the cement.
Slowly, everything around Percy started fading, with Grover disappearing, followed by the buildings and the sidewalk. The last thing Percy saw was a huge figure reaching toward where the satyr had once stood.
Then Percy sat up in his bed.

School had been almost exactly as Percy had predicted it to be. On the first day he had been shunned. People had blue or pink dyed hair but he was made fun of for having natural white and black hair. Even with the San Francisco sun his skin refused to darken. The most had been a small tan. It all pissed him off.
The only reason Percy hadn't used the mist on the mortals was because of Annabeth. Something about following Chiron's rules. Whatever. Preventing him from accidentally blowing his lid and attacking the mortals seemed like a last resort to Percy.
Although it all made him mad, being there with Annabeth made it worthwhile. When he was around her, the comments of others didn't affect him. She just had this charm that made him not care about the others.
It became bad when he was alone. The sneers he received, the rude remarks, the shoves and laughs. They all got to him. One day - halfway through the school year - Percy had snapped when someone made a comment about his dead mother. Annabeth had magically appeared when he conjured his swords and calmed him down.
People around them had been screaming about a gun, so the two of them assumed the Mist had covered for them. Before anything became out of hand, Annabeth snapped her fingers and made the mortals all forget it.
Percy and Annabeth had every class together as well as lunch and they even walked home together. The situation was a double-edged sword though. While Percy was happy that he had every class with his best friend via the Mist, she made sure he actually did his homework and not cheat with the Mist.
The work itself wasn't hard, it was the writing it down that was. Percy had been taught from a young age how to properly write, but it took a lot of concentration.
That was a problem because he was a demigod. Meaning he had ADHD. Dyslexia also played a small role in it, although it seemed to affect him on a much smaller scale then other demigods.
The first time the child of Athena had seen Percy's handwriting, she was astounded. She had believed it would be terrible, with barely legible characters and uneven spacings. She had been incorrect.
Annabeth had been amazed at how beautiful Percy's writing was, with all the loops and hooks. It seemed so elegant, but Percy's face when doing it was anything but elegant. His tongue poked out between his lips, eyebrows scrunched up and his eyes squinted. A look of pure concentration on his face. Annabeth had laughed one day when she realized he looked like he was taking a very hard and painful shit. It was honestly adorable.
Percy had even tried using his newfound powers to create a paper with all of the answers written down. Sadly, it seemed he needed to know everything about an object before he created it.
This was proven when Annabeth had run tests on him trying to figure out what his limit was. Biggest thing he could make so far -after looking intensively at objects- was a black mini-fridge. Items smaller could be made, as long as he knew what they would precisely look like.
Another test they ran on him was to make living this. Plants mainly but they also had tested out fire and other things - like bugs. The result soon became apparent.
Percy could not make living objects.
They had tried many times but his powers simply did not respond. Fire was strange though. Even though he could make his swords hot enough to melt celestial bronze, he could not produce flames from his hands. This also applied to the other elements.
Bottom line to this rant was he didn't want to write down the answers he already knew, but Annabeth was persistent. Eventually Percy had relented and now they did homework together daily.
After school, they would walk home together. Percy had ended up renting a house that was conveniently across the street of Annabeth's. They would usually go to Percy's house and do their homework before going to Annabeth's to eat.
Meeting Annabeth's family had been strange. Her father -Fredrick- was neutral about Percy, asking of his family and stuff. Helen -Annabeth's step-mother- seemed to hate Percy just as much as she did Annabeth. Apparently, she had a small inkling to what the two were and wanted them to have nothing to do with her children. Just like a mother bird protecting her eggs.
The best of the mortals were the twins. They completely adored Percy, hanging onto every word he said. Percy often abused this, having them go get him food when he was hanging out with Annabeth in her room.
It also helped that it seemed they loved Annabeth too. Said demigod huffed as if annoyed by the twins, but Percy could tell. If Annabeth's eyes could change colors based off of emotion, hers would be a dark pink, signifying her love for them.
The months had come and gone with the duo experiencing mortal school to the best of their ability. Sure, monsters had come here and there, but there was nothing a dagger and pure white blades couldn't dice up.
One person had been particularly bullying Percy throughout the entire school year. A fat short boy by the name of Matt Sloan. The unclaimed demigod was surprised that Percy himself was the one getting bullied and not the other way around.
One day, Percy realized that the boy looked like the 'Little TeaPot' from the song. Because he was short and stout, only he was human. When he mentioned this to Annabeth, she scowled at him but her lips turned up.
Percy knew she agreed with his line of thinking.
About two months before the school year was over, the duo befriended another boy. Although boy didn't really seem to fit the giant. Percy didn't think anyone could be near the height of Beckendorf but this kid sure was close.
The boy had introduced himself as Tyson, guessing his age to be 12. Tyson stood near six feet in height with brown hair and eyes. Both Percy and Annabeth noted that Tyson's face looked distorted but didn't think much of it.
Something the demigods found out was that Tyson was made fun of too. The three became fast friends. Although Tyson was strange and slightly dumb, he was also very kind-hearted and funny.
Another thing the demigods found out was that Tyson had scars. Scars were littered all across his back and body. When the two had questioned him on it, Tyson shyly deflected the question. The two hadn't asked again.

The school year was coming to an end with only a week left. The mortal continued pestering Percy and Tyson, making snide comments and telling lies. You know the saying.
Tell a lie long enough and people will believe it to be true.
That happened to be the case here. Matt constantly tried his best to humiliate them which worked on some occasions. The entire school despised the two boys. Strangely enough though, they left Annabeth alone.
On this current day, the trio all had physical education together. Unfortunately they also had it with Matt. "P-Percy?"
Percy looked up at the boy. They were inside of the locker room getting dressed down for P.E. "Yeah big guy?"
"Can you cover me again as I change?"
Percy smiled while creating a blanket. The pull on his gut was big but manageable. "Of course."
Tyson showed a big toothy smile. The boy had been used to this, never once questioning how Percy always had the item he needed. As Tyson changed they heard a sneer.
"Well isn't this some shit. Trying to get a quick one off eh bitch boy?" Matt laughed like a pig while looking at Percy. Said demigod just sighed and ignored him. The mortal apparently didn't like that and decided to pick on the big guy instead.
"Hey shit face, what you doing under that blanket? Jerking off to the guys changing?" The human pig laughed and boy was it ugly. It was a mix of a chortle and wheeze. The people around them turned and scowled at Tyson before moving away. Percy was usually fine if they made fun of him but making fun of his friends?
Percy's head snapped to Matt, eyes blazing red. Although red it wasn't enough to trigger his flaw. Matt stumbled back before being rightened by someone from behind. That's when Percy noticed the three mountains surrounding Matt. Said mortal had a venomous smile come to his face.
"Hey bitch boy. Reason I came here was to introduce you to my new friends." Percy was now standing straight up fully dressed for P.E. Tyson too stood but was behind Percy. When the unclaimed demigod noticed that, he quickly willed the blanket to disappear.
His command was obeyed.
Percy looked at Matt and cocked an eyebrow. "Are those your suck buddies? Are you guys in the closet together, desperately trying to get out?" Matt's face went bright red with a mix of rage and embarrassment while his mouth opened and shut.
Then a look of pure evil took over his features, while his face cooled down to a normal skin color. "My friends are nicknamed Marrow Sucker, Skull Eater and Joe Bob." He gestured to each of them respectively. "They are here to help teach you a lesson bitch boy."
The three men had to be well over seven feet in height. Built like mountains too. Thick stumps for arms and legs while a huge neck thick as a log. The faces were the creepiest, with sinister smiles and pure black eyes.
Percy bared his teeth and hissed at Matt. The mortal laughed before taking his 'friends' into the gym.
Tyson pulled on Percy's sleeve grabbing his attention. The bicolored haired demigod turned around to face the brown haired boy. Percy was still slightly pissed and said with a rough voice, "Yes Tyson?"
Tyson looked so scared and slightly cowered. Looking Percy in the eyes, he said four words.
"Those three smell funny."
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Annabeth was by the door waiting for the two guys. She was wearing a pair of white athletic shorts with her Camp Half-Blood t-shirt. That made sense, because those things were perfect for physical activity. Her looks hadn't really changed just slightly longer hair and an inch or two taller than when they had first met.
Percy sighed when Annabeth whipped her head around, causing her hair to whiplash his face. "Ow."
The child of Athena smiled in response. "Oops." Then with a joking tone she said, "Took you guys long enough. What were you doing?"
Percy just gave her a look and the blond haired girl understood. I'll tell you later.
The three stood in a small circle talking about nothing in particular, just waiting for class to start. Suddenly the teacher walked in while shouting, "Alrighty everyone group up!"
While everyone was shuffling together, their teacher said, "Because school is ending in a week" -Cue cries of joy from the students- "I decided to give you children a treat!" With a smile that could only be described as sinister, he finished, "Dodgeball!"
Many of the boys yelled in excitement, while most of the girls groaned. The trio of friends were in the later category. It was only when Annabeth looked around did her eyes land on the guys surrounding Matt. Her stormy grey eyes widened when one of them drew an imaginary line across his neck while staring right at her, an evil smile on his face.
Annabeth quickly turned and asked Percy, "Who are those guys?"
Said demigod turned to look where Annabeth was pointing before shrugging his shoulders. "Don't know. They just showed up today and seem to be friends with Matt." Percy looked up into Annabeth's eyes before saying, "The only real thing I know about them is that Tyson told me they smelled funny."
Tyson shook his head up and down slowly, an uneasy expression on his face. "Bad people. They don't like us."
Annabeth's brian was whirring at incredible speeds. Who could they be? First thought was monsters, which was the most likely answer. She looked at Percy. The last monster attack had been nearly a month ago. The pace of the monster attacks had been slowly increasing.
It had been two months at first, then less than two months, then less and less. Annabeth looked back at the group surrounding Matt. Those three had to be monsters. Who had names like Skull Eater, Marrow Sucker and Joe Bob anyway? While the last one was slightly normal, it was still unusual.
To top it all off, their features and body were way too strange to be human. Annabeth frantically whispered her thoughts to Percy and her theories were proving more and more certain when he agreed with her. They decided to watch and see what the monsters would do.
"Big Percy?"
Percy looked down at Tyson with a soft smile, just as the dodgeball game was about to begin. Of course, Matt and his 'buddies' were on the team opposite of the trio of friends. "Yes Tyson?"
Tyson's eyes became huge as the whistle signifying the start of the game blew. "Something bad is about to happen."
Both demigods -Annabeth had been eavesdropping- eyes widened at this, before becoming even bigger when a teammate of theirs was hit with a ball that sent him flying toward the wall at the back of the gym.
The kid hit the wall hard enough to cause cracks to appear.
A quick glance to the other side showed Matt behind a wall of three muscular men, all with mad grins on their faces while holding dodgeballs.
The demigods quickly looked at each other before saying in synchronization, "Monsters."
Suddenly the monsters seemed to shift. To Annabeth and Percy it seemed like a fog had been raised. Now the monsters had to be eight feet in height -possibly more- while their body's bulged even bigger. They also had tattoos covering all areas of their bodies and pointed yellow teeth. The dodgeballs they were carrying shifted too, becoming black and flaming.
Those looked more like cannonballs then dodgeballs.
The two demigods watched as one of them -Marrow Sucker- cocked his arm back to throw and released. The ball flew straight for them, too fast to dodge. Within a split-second Percy shoved Annabeth out of the way before turning to do the same to Tyson.
Although now it seemed like a fog had lifted from him too. Now he seemed to have one big brown eye. Percy's thoughts went at hyper speed, nearly summoning his swords to run Tyson through.
Before Percy could push Tyson out of the way the boy got in front of Percy and caught the cannonball. Annabeth's eyes widened while Percy's jaw dropped.
"Nobody hurts Big Percy." With that amazing sentence, Tyson threw the ball straight back at the monsters the three all diving out of the way.
Annabeth quickly appeared next to the two, her mind already creating a plan. "We will ignore Tyson being a cyclops for now. Usually I would have a fit but I like you Tyson." Said cyclops had an adorable grin on his face that made the daughter of Athena smile softly. Annabeth faced Percy.
"These are Laistrygonian giants." Percy just gave her a confused look. Although Annabeth had been teaching him all about Greek mythology throughout the school year she had never mentioned these monsters. The blonde haired girl gave a frustrated sigh. "There's no other definition then that." She pointed to the giants that were now slowly getting up.
"They're big, super strong, throw stuff and like killing." Both Tyson and Percy were nodding their heads understanding. "You just kill them like normal monsters but be careful. Best would be with a bow and arrows." As Annabeth said this she looked at Percy.
He understood. Suddenly a pure white bow appeared in his right hand. Annabeth nodded, satisfied while Tyson just looked amazed. "Alright Percy, you will attack from a distance. Tyson you will be going with me. We will go invisible and sneak up to them and maybe get them from behind."
"Percy?" Said demigod looked at Annabeth. "We will be walking along the side of the gym. Please don't shoot us." The unclaimed demigod just laughed.
"I'll do my best Annabeth."
Annabeth just smiled before putting on her Yankees cap and turning invisible. Tyson was about to start panicking when he became invisible too. Percy sighed and stood up while looking to where the giants were standing.
The three still had those menacing smiles on their faces, looking like they wanted to eat Percy for lunch. While flipping his white and black hair out of his eyes Percy sighed again before raising his bow. As he pulled back the string, a white arrow magically appeared.
Summoning his bow had been originally difficult. Unlike his swords, he didn't just think of it and it would appear. For the bow he had to imagine every detail and only then it could be summoned. Not created but summoned. He also had a limited amount of arrows. He could use up to three at a time, before his concentration broke and poof. No more bow.
When Percy released an arrow, it took a little bit of time before he could shoot another. This being because of the draw weight. At camp the bows had little to no draw back weight. This bow on the other hand, had at least a hundred pound draw back weight. That was another reason why he could only use three arrows at a time.
When Percy had first been practicing with his bow -which he had named Black Mamba- it took him tons of practice to even be able to draw it back. Finally when he did and released an arrow, he found out why the drawback was so heavy.
When the arrow was released, it turned black and flew at crazy speeds even for a bow. The other thing was that the arrow was a force to be reckoned with.
It had torn clear through two side by side buildings before stopping at a third. The hole it had made was about 6 inches in length and width.
As for the arrows themselves. He could technically shoot as many as he wanted, within a given time of course. Meaning, if his previous arrows he shot disappeared -like his conjured swords would when he dropped them- then he could shoot that same arrow again. It just took a lot of concentration. Percy also liked the whistling noise it made as it flew.
Back to the present, Percy dove out of the way of three cannonballs which all somehow missed him. Percy stood before conjuring his bow - feeling the strong tug on his gut - pulling back and releasing an arrow that caused one of the giant's heads to explode.
This caused Percy's malicious side to cackle in joy while his face gave a crazed smile. Any real sort of battle always made Percy's flaw come to life in one form or another.
One of the Lastrygonian giants -Percy's eyes recognised as Skull Eater- threw a cannonball right at Percy. The unclaimed demigods eyes flashed red with crazed joy before cocking an arrow and releasing it.
The arrow went straight through the flying ball cutting it in half. Suddenly Annabeth and Tyson appeared behind the two giants. Annabeth stabbed with her dagger while Tyson just bashed the other with his fists. Eventually both had followed their compatriot as they turned to golden dust.
By now all of the mortals had fled and sirens could be heard. Percy's bow fell from his hands before disappearing. The unclaimed demigod hunched over, falling to his knees and gasped for breath. Even that much had been hard for him.
Annabeth gave him no respite as she ran over and pulled him and Tyson outside of the gym via the side door. Somehow she managed to get all of their clothes from the locker rooms but Percy wasn't complaining.
"We need to get to camp and fast." Percy just nodded while Tyson tilted his head sideways in confusion.
Percy patted the oaf's back. "I'll explain later buddy." Tyson's face immediately became happy.
As the trio ran, police, fire trucks and ambulances flew past them. Over the roar of noise, Percy managed to say to Annabeth, "So how are we going to get to camp? Especially with a cyclops?"
Instead of responding to him, Annabeth stopped before a road and pulled out a drachma before saying out loud in ancient Greek, "Stop, Chariot of Damnation." Percy just stared at her in confusion as she flicked the drachma forward onto the road. The unclaimed demigod was about to ask what Annabeth was doing when the coin sank into the ground and a grey taxi cab rose from the ground.
Percy and Tyson squeaked in surprise while Annabeth just talked to the people in front.
"No cyclops. We will not take their kind." Tyson looked like he wanted to cry. After arguing for a while, Annabeth promised to the people in front to pay extra for taking Tyson. The drivers also made her pay more for summoning them all the way to California, because they usually only did trips in the New York area.
"Get in boys." Percy and Tyson followed Anabeth's orders.
The trip in the taxi was one Percy was sure he would never forget. The people in front were called the Gray Sisters, having met many famous heroes and gave Percy four random numbers. 30, 31, 75, 12. After an hour speeding across the country they made it to Camp Half-Blood.
The Sisters ended up taking most of Annabeth's drachmas and all of Percy's. Big trip and taking a cyclops cost a lot apparently.
After they paid, the trio turned around to see two bronze bulls inside of Camp's borders fighting some demigods.
Percy and Annabeth immediately rush toward Clarisse and some Ares kids who were getting their asses handed to them, Tyson trailing behind them. Clarisse had both of the Colchis Bulls charging at her. Before Annabeth could say anything about a plan, Percy summoned his bow the tug in his gut slightly more painful than before.
He stopped running while holding his breath and stared at his target. Percy pulled back the string, arrow magically appearing and slowly released his breath, arrow turning black and whistling as it flew.
To those that were watching it seemed like a very fast black object flew through the air and completely ripped one of the bulls legs off.
The effect was immediate. With its leg cut off the bull on the left tripped and fell to the ground, face and horns digging a trench. While Percy continued to stand there Annabeth rushed to go help Clarisse with the other bull. Tyson on the other hand, ran forward while saying in an extremely high pitched voice
"Stick!"
Tyson quickly picked up the bronze leg that Percy had shot off before repeatedly bashing it into the Colchis Bull. Percy just stared, very surprised. Finally the thing stopped twitching and Tyson stopped hitting it. The cyclops turned and flashed Percy a toothy grin while Percy gave him a double thumbs up, bow now gone.
Turning, they could see that Clarisse had basically taken down the other bull herself with Annabeth only helping slightly. Percy then jogged over to the two.
"Prissy I can see you've come back." With a small sneer in her voice, she gestured to Tyson and said, "And you've made an...acquaintance that can match your looks too."
Percy was not dealing with this bull shit today. "Clarisse later. First of all, " Percy turned and patted the shy cyclops on the shoulder, which took a good amount of effort. "This is Tyson. He's a good guy." Annabeth showed Clarisse that she agreed with that statement with a nod of her head, although slightly shaking while doing so.
Clarisse's condescending look slowly fell from her face. She raised one of her hands to her face while letting out a drawn out and tired sigh. "Sorry for being like that." The daughter of Ares gave a shaky closed-lip smile to the trio. "It's been a stressful month."
Annabeth - not one to not ask questions - quickly lived up to her name as a daughter of Athena. She spoke so fast that it made Tyson and Percy's heads swim. Clarisse, though, seemed to understand every word and was responding just as fast. The girls' hands were flying as they spoke, while Annabeth's face slowly started becoming more and more pale.
As they talked Percy took his time to look around. Some campers were hauling the destroyed celestial bulls to the Hephaestus cabin. Turning a little to the right showed the hulking form of the head councilor for Cabin 9.
Even from this distance Percy could see the mad glint in Beckendorf's eyes while he rubbed his hands together. Beck looked like he had just been given the birthday present he'd always dreamed of.
Suddenly the African-American looked up and caught Percy's eyes before quickly jogging over, his black hair slightly swaying from the non-existent wind. "Percy my man! Is that you?"
Percy gave a huge smile. Beck had always been awesome to Percy, although scary and overly strange at times. The unclaimed demigod liked the brute's presence. They reached out and clasped hands before going in for the bro hug. "Beckendorf! So good to see you!"
Said demigod's smile just got impossibly bigger, before turning to an uncomfortable Tyson. "Aah, I see you've brought someone with you."
Percy quickly introduced the two and was happy to note that Tyson and Beckendorf seemed to be hitting it off. They were talking about making things. Percy heard Tyson repeatedly talking about how he "Wanted to make a big stick." The two demigods laughed in good nature at this.
Then the child of Hepheastus said in a serious voice, "Have you heard of what's been going on around here?" A quick shake of his head no answered the question. Beck looked down before giving one short but frustrated sigh.
"Here's the basic rundown." He turned and pointed at the big pine tree behind Percy on top of the hill. "You know of the boundary right?" This time Percy shook his head yes. Tyson just stayed silent throughout this, opting to learn what he could while listening.
"It keeps the monsters out so we're safe." Beck's face turned darker than his skin already was. "The boundary is failing. Notice how the tree is slightly slumping?" Another quick nod yes was given. "Someone poisoned it. Sometimes the barrier works but usually it doesn't. As was shown when those things came barging in." He emphasized this but pointing a thumb over his shoulder to where the bulls had been dragged.
Percy decided to finally speak. "How long has this been going on?"
Beckendorf sighed again, while running a hand through his hair and down his face. "For about a month now. It's really bothersome because by the day it keeps getting weaker. Like I said before, it often stops working at all. We have to have a patrol going on."Percy grimaced at the news.
The African-American gave even worse news. "That isn't - in my opinion - the worst news." He gave this glare to the horizon that had Percy shivering. He then whispered almost too soft to be heard. "The gods think Chiron did it. He's been kicked from camp."
The world seemed to slowly stop for Percy. Everything around him ceased to move as he held his breath. Chiron? No, that wasn't possible. Even though Percy hadn't known him for that long, he knew that the centaur would not do something like this. Percy let out a shaky breath and the world seemed to resume.
He voiced his thoughts to Beck before saying, "Why would he do it? Chiron's just too awesome."
Beck's grim facial expression hardened further. "This is not common information, but Chiron is actually the son of Kronos."
Percy's breath hitched once more before he let out another shaky breath.
"Chiron...is…?"
Beckendorf sadly nodded his head.
Percy's face mimicked the son of Hephaestus' grim expression as he let out rough, "So, what of it?"
The dark skinned man just looked more sad. "They think he poisoned the tree for his father." The unclaimed demigod just shook his head in disbelief.
Annabeth and Clarisse walked up to the trio of guys. Annabeth just repeated what Beck had told them but Percy's mind was whirling so fast he didn't even care.
Eventually Beck left and the four remaining people headed toward the Big House. Before they could walk in, Clarisse stopped them and said "Prepare yourselves." Annabeth was about to ask why when the daughter of Ares threw the door open.
What they came in on blinded them.
A man was leaning on Mr. D while giggling and feeding him grapes. Dionysus' face was one of glee as he opened his lips wide before clamping onto the grape. The man just giggled again at the Wine gods antics.
Clarisse let out a quiet, "What the fuuucckk…"
Annabeth didn't approve of cursing but completely agreed with the daughter of Ares.
The two men in front of them jumped apart in front of the small group before Dionysus cleared his throat.
"Erm, children! Welcome back to camp and all that." The gods face returned to its natural bored look. Then he turned in his chair and pointed toward the man that had been previously laying on the Wine god.
"As you can see Chiron is gone. This man right here has been sent by father to temporarily take Chiron's place. He was previously known as Tantalus and is cursed to never eat nor drink ever again." Dionysus ended with a cruel smile splayed on his face.
The replacement had a deep scowl on his face when he looked at the children. "What are you brats looking at? Don't you have someplace better to be? You heard him, I'm in charge of you children. Now leave."
Percy now understood why Mr. D and Tantalus got along. Similar personality and outlook on life.
As the children turned around, he called to them, "Wait." The group turned around once more to face the frowning Tantalus and smiling Wine god.
"Yes sir?" Annabeth had decided to play nice and hopefully get on the activities directors good side.
In response to that, the man seemed to both smile and frown at once, seemingly not deciding which emotion he felt. Tantalus faced Annabeth and said, "While I enjoy being called sir, I don't like hearing it from you, Athena spawn." While turning away from Annabeth, he looked straight at Tyson.
"Who didn't take the trash out?" None of the kids seemed to understand this, when Percy suddenly saw a glint in the directors hand. Without thinking, he summoned his right sword and managed to block a dagger that was heading towards Tyson's face.
Tantalus scowled, hand still forward in the position he flicked out the knife. "Why did you block, you unclaimed brat?"
While a small look of pain flashed through Percy's eyes, his face hardened. Grabbing hold of Tyson, with Annabeth repeating the action, Percy said, "Tyson's one of us."
The replacement bared his teeth and seemingly growled at the trio, while Clarisse just stood off to the side. Suddenly, a glowing trident appeared over Tyson's head. The demigods looked at it in wonder while Tyson spun around in circles, wondering what they were looking at.
Mr. D broke out into a fit of laughter. "Haha! Uncle P actually did it! I had a feeling but didn't know for sure but he actually did it!" He continued to laugh while everyone else continued to stare.
Tantalus was glaring holes into Tyson's skull before falling onto a knee. This was all quickly followed by everyone else that was this. Except Dionysus.
He wasn't kneeling to any mortal, let alone a cyclops.
Tantalus continued glaring and growled, "Hail Tyson…"
Percy cut in. "He has no last name, sir."
Tantalus growl now directed itself toward Percy. "Silence, boy."
He cleared his breath before trying again. "Hail Tyson, son of the Earthshaker, Stormbringer, Lord of Horses and god of the Sea. Hail Tyson, son of Poseiden."

I was honestly really surprised no one even had a guess as to who Percy's parent is. Like, serious. Although your guesses would be wrong. Probably.
Those that did guess, well done for doing so. They were wrong, I'll tell you that much. I will not be giving any more hints than that.
Also, thank you CalamityXx for beta-ing.
