It was late at the Post Office. Cooper was eager to go home, but after talking with Reddington, decided he needed to stay a bit longer. Elizabeth was cuffed in a chair inside the box as it slowly opened. She looked well put together for someone worn and haggard. Her eyes brighter than they should be. As the door swung open Raymond Reddington sat in a chair outside the box opposite her. The tables had turned since Elizabeth's first day on the job. Reddington sat with his hat on his lap, the small smile across his face was disingenuous. For a long moment, neither spoke.
"Hello, Elizabeth," Reddington words were dripping with scorn.
She remained silent.
"I don't imagine you'll be stuck in this box for long. I can attest to its inhospitable edges." He continued. "I'm sure Panabaker will have you down in central booking before long." He waited to see her reaction. She gave none.
He had a genuine question on his mind. "So, what's your plan Elizabeth?"
"My plan?" she said, speaking for the first time.
"Yes, you have a plan, do you not?" He was twisting the knife. "You have the Task Force running around trying to undo all the knots you're twisting around the globe, setting off explosions," his voice was growing louder. "Dragging Agnes all over, putting her in harms way, aligning with terrorists and murderers. Do you think you'd come out unscathed? I've dealt with these people for decades, I am one of these people, Lizzie, you will never be able to break the chains of the people you have shackled yourself to on this escapade." He was angry and breathing quickly.
"I know who you are." She said confidently.
Reddington's eyes changed. A hint of fear behind them.
"When Panabaker and I speak…when I explain everything, she will see things differently than you do now. Everyone will know." There was a hint of madness behind her eyes. A woman pushed to the brink. "You asked if I had a plan. Boy, do I."
Feeling uneasy, jaw set firm, Reddington gave a nod and left the room. As the door closed on Elizabeth Keen, Harold Cooper looked on from the shadows.
