Part 6: Infiltrating Celeste
The stone retrieval team were currently standing in the lounge area of the Milano. Rocket threw a disc onto the table and it displayed a hologram of a large building. "According to this and what Raymond told me the stones are being kept here," Rocket said pointing at the floor below the main floor.
"According to the records before they were taken away there would always be two celestials guarding the room," Gamora said.
"I don't suppose they used key cards back here," Tony said.
"No sadly hes our only key," Rocket said pointing at Raymond.
"Why is that?" Thor asked.
"Apparently they made the lock so that only a celestial could open it," Rocket said.
"They thought it was the only safe away in case any of the other races found out they had all the stones," Gamora said looking serious.
"Just how powerful are these guys?" Tony asked looking serious.
"A long time ago, Thanos only brought up the celestials a few times," Nebula said looking serious. "Most of the time he mentioned that if the celestials were still around they would have been able to stop him," she said.
"So theyre more powerful than Thanos," Steve said.
"They can make weapons and fire powerful energy blasts," said Raymond calmly.
"Let's remember our mission here," Bruce said getting everyones attention. "Were not here to hurt them, lets just get the stones, get back home, bring everyone back and then will put the stones back," he said.
"Bruce is right," said Steve. "So lets get the stones and get home," he said.
Everyone nodded and headed up back to the cockpit. Before Raymond reached his seat Gamora held out an old cloak. "There aren't that many celestials down there with one color, it's probably best if they don't see you," she said.
"Your right," Raymond said putting the cloak on as an alert came up on the screen.
"Uh somethings heading toward us," Rocket said as Raymond sat in the co pilots seat and pulled his hood up.
As they moved the ship forward a celestial suddenly stopped in front of the screen. He looked male and had the colors green and blue. "What is the purpose of your visit here," he said sounding serious.
Rocket being prepared responded. "Sorry were just here to take a look at the sights, we heard a lot about this place from a friend," he said.
The celestial stared at them for a few moments before speaking. "Alright, head to the docking area, you can leave your ship there," he said before flying back to the planet.
"Well that went well," Tony said.
They flew down to the planet and found the docking area where other ships were. After getting off the ship Scott spoke up. "Do you think they have records of what ships dock here," he said.
"He brings up a good point, if what Jane said is right then there can't be evidence left behind that we were here," Thor said. Raymond looked around before noticing a small sphere on the wall.
"They're cameras," Raymond said pointing at them.
"If those are there gotta be some kind of security room here," Tony said. The group walked out of the hangar and headed up to the main area. Raymond then noticed a celestial walking up stairs to the second floor.
"He probably works here as security," Steve said.
"Scott you got this?" Raymond asked.
"Yeah," said Scott.
"You'll need back up," said Nebula before pointing at a restroom. "Shrink in there and ill bring you up," she said.
"Will all head outside, will meet in alleyway when you guys are done," Raymond said before everyone accept Nebula and Scott left. Scott went into the rest room before shrinking and after walking out under the door he waved at Nebula.
Nebula picked him up before heading up the stairs. She then noticed a door at the end of the hallway and written in a sign above it was security. "In there, wipe the footage and shut down the camera," Nebula said.
"Right, I got this," Scott said before Nebula threw him towards the door. He then landed at the bottom of the door and gave Nebula a thumbs up. She sighed before Scott entered the security room.
"Alright looks like no ones here," he said before jumping onto the desk. It took him a few moments to understand the controls before he was able to shut down the camera and delete the footage of them arriving.
After finishing the work he quickly ran out and they met up with the rest of the team. Raymond was standing near the exit of the alleyway. Watching different colored celestials and other aliens interact. "Raymond," Steve said getting his attention.
"Yeah," Raymond said.
"Were just about finishing preparing," Rocket said when Thor walked over to Raymond.
"I can only think about what you must be going through right now," Thor said. Knowing Raymond had been to this planet after it was destroyed. "But remember that the celestials still live with you, your daughter and your next child," he said.
"Thanks," Raymond said smiling. Thor smiled as well before they stood with the others.
The group headed towards the main building and headed in. "The stairs are over here," Raymond said pointing to the right.
"Time to suit up," Steve said looking at Tony who pressed down on his chest piece. He was then covered in his suit and Scott put on his helmet. They all headed downstairs and saw two celestials guarding the door.
"What are you all doing here," one of them said.
"Tony lets go," Raymond said as the blue light covered his legs. He then jumped towards the celestial on the left and punched him across the face. He sent him flying to the end of the hallway while Tony blasted the other celestial.
Raymond jumped back as the celestial took out his sword. He then noticed he had two colors. The celestial jumped towards him and Raymond blocked his sword with his right arm that was glowing.
"What," the celestial said sounding surprised. Raymond then kicked him in the chest and sent him falling on his back. Before he could stand up Raymond punched him across the face. Knocking him out.
"A little help here," Tony said getting his attention. Raymond looked to see Tonys repulsors clashing with the celestials energy blasts. The celestials energy pushed Tony back and he fired again. This time Steve blocked the blast with his shield.
"Ahhh," Thor said hitting the celestial with storm breaker. The celestial was then sent flying back and landed on his back. Before he could get up Raymond punched him in the face and knocked him out.
"They both only had two colors," Tony said walking towards the door.
"We better make this quick before more of them show up," Gamora said. Raymond nodded before putting his hand on the console. The console lit up and then the door opened. They all walked in seeing a stone in each capsule.
"Look over here," said Rocket pointing at smaller versions of the capsules. Each one of them could be carried.
"These must be for when they leave the planet," Rocket said.
"Well lets get this done," Bruce said taking out a small case. Raymond walked over to the capsule with the space stone in it. He opened the capsule and grabbed the stone.
"You okay," said Bruce.
"Yeah I'm good," Raymond said before putting the stone in the case. After putting the last stone in Bruce closed the case when Rocket spoke up. "Uh we have a problem," he said getting everyones attention.
Everyone looked to see a celestial in a blue cloak. He was currently checking on the second guard they had knocked out. He then looked at them.
"Your after the stones," he said calmly.
"Yes, sorry but we need them," said Steve looking ready for a fight.
"I'm sorry but ive seen what they can do," he said stepping into the room. "I cant let you take them," he said sounding serious.
"Get back to the ship," Gamora said as she and Nebula ran towards the celestial.
"No don't," Rocket said before the celestial quickly took out a sword and blocked the two of them. He then swung his sword and sent the two of them flying back. They both hit the wall.
"They're right, get the stones out of here," Bruce said handing Tony the case. He then ran towards the celestial with his right fist back. He went to punch him but the celestial grabbed his fist. Looking surprised before he was sent flying into the wall.
"Hes strong," Gamora said standing back up.
"Theres something else," Nebula said looking annoyed. "He has one color," she said as the celestial put both of his hands down. Raymond instantly noticing both of them were blue.
"Well this isnt good," Tony said as his helmet covered his face.
Raymond then thought back to all the people they said goodbye to earlier. Remembering his wife and daughter he grabbed the cloak he was wearing and threw it off. Revealing the determned look on his face.
"Were taking the stones and were all making it home," he thought.
