Writer's Notes: Thank you deliamoonfire, Navywife, zukie, Sassy, and Siobhan for you reviews! Fret not, there will be some competition for Bella's heart, and you'll get to see a different side of Clary real soon. I hope everyone enjoys the next few chapters, and as always, I appreciate all the support. Don't forget to follow, favorite, and review!
Bella woke the next morning, and shifted in the bed, stretching. She felt the bed empty beside her, and remembered Dean. He must have left already. The sheets were cool on that side of the bed, so it's been a while. She looked at the clock and it read 6am. She had been asleep for seven hours, so she felt better. She got out of bed, getting in the shower immediately, to relax her tense muscles. The water was like heaven, kissing her skin. She didn't want to take too long, so she got out quickly, dressing and then headed to command first, before hitting the kitchen for coffee and maybe something to nibble on.
She was wearing just regular jeans, and then a button up, navy shirt, that was rolled up to the elbows, and simple tennis shoes.
Alec glanced up at her as she entered command. "Sleep well?"
"Yeah, for once." She said with a smile. Clary entered shortly after, holding two cups of coffee. She handed one to Bella. "How did you know?"
"Heard the shower kick on, figured you wouldn't be long." Clary said with a smile.
Bella smiled and took the coffee. "So, what's happening?" She asked as she took a drink of her coffee. It was perfect, which Clary knew her best, so it wasn't a surprise.
Alec looked at the screen. "Well, for right now, it seems that things are quiet. Magnus said that the streets are quiet, and he hasn't had anything try to break the wards, like with the reapers. Valentine deactivated the tracking runes on Daren and Popper like with Jocelyn. Sebastian is doing better, and for now, we just must keep scouting. The Whitlock brothers left earlier, like two hours ago. They're going to meet with the leader of the vampire coven here, to establish some sort of boundaries since they're requesting to stay close to Brooklyn until this Valentine matter is fixed."
"Also, Battle of the Bands is tonight." Clary mentioned.
Bella looked at Clary and blinked a few times before it dawned on her. "Oh right. Simon's band." She murmured and then frowned. "I don't think we can go Clary, it's too dangerous to just go and having fun, especially with your mom still missing, and with valentine."
Clary knew that Bella was right. "I know." She murmured. "I miss Simon, and he would…he would want to know about mom."
"Simon can escape this world Clare, we don't need to drag him into a world that he knows nothing about and shouldn't." Bella said and looked back at the screen. "We have no choice, but…he doesn't."
Alec felt bad. It hasn't been a week, and Bella gave up everything already, and so had Clary. "Go. Go to the thing. Take a couple of the guys with you. We need to rest anyways after the reapers attacked. This way, you can see your friend. Be Bella and Clary for a night." He said this, against his better judgement. He would normally never allow something like this, but there wasn't much they could do right now but recover from the reapers. Rushing in can get someone else hurt, and a lot of them were just exhausted.
Clary looked at Alec and smiled. "Thank you."
Bella nodded, still feeling uneasy about going out and having some fun while the whole world seemed to be ending for her. She sighed. "We can't stay long. We can't tell Simon about this world, and we have to stay sober…ish." She smiled a little at her sister.
Dean walked in then, dressed in fresh clothes. His shirt was a blue plaid button up shirt that was partially open in the front, but his sleeves were rolled up to his elbows, and his dark wash jeans, and boots. "Good morning." He greeted.
Bella glanced over at him, and smiled slightly. "Morning." She said and lifted her cup to her lips again and took another drink.
Jace and Damon joined them, and Izzy followed, with Alaric, Elena, and Jeremy, a few moments later.
"What's the plan today?" Jace asked as he came to stand next to Alec.
"Well, Bella and Clary are going to Pandemonium later. Send a team out to go out with them, to make sure nothing…crazy happens." Alec said, looking at Bella, and giving her a small smile.
Jace looked at Bella. "Pandemonium? What's going on there?"
"Simon's battle of the bands." Bella responded.
"Simon?" Jace asked, lifting a brow.
"Best friend." Clary supplied. "The three of us were really inseparable. And now…" She looked away, feeling sad about not being able to see Simon all the time like they used to.
Alec nodded. "So, it's a volunteer thing. If you don't though, use this time to relax, and recuperate from the past few days."
"Count me in." Jeremy said with a smile. "I love music."
"Yeah, I'll go with." Alaric said. "Gotta keep an eye on that one." He jabbed a thumb over towards Jeremy.
Jace nodded. "Sure. I'll tag along."
Damon rolled his eyes. "I'm only going for the booze." He said and looked at his phone when it dinged. "Ah, Stefan is downstairs from patrol. I'm up next. I'll meet you guys there." He said and sauntered off.
Bella smiled at Jace. "You don't have to go. You were just hurt."
"I want to. Plus, it might be fun to listen to…music, and what is it they do at these things?" Jace asked.
"They battle. Whoever is the best, wins." Bella said with a smile.
Jace nodded. "Ah, makes sense. So, what is the prize for winning?"
"A trophy, and being on the radio in Brooklyn." Clary supplied.
Bella nodded, looking from Clary, back to Jace. "It was fun last year. Simon took second. This year, it's hopeful he'll get first."
"I want to go." Izzy said. "I can go, right Alec?" She looked to her brother.
Alec nodded, waving a hand. "Sure. Just remember your patrol is slated at seven tonight."
"I won't forget." Izzy said with a wide smile.
Alec nodded. "Just check in whoever is going, give me an updated list, so I know who's not here, and be ready to be recalled at a moments notice."
"Well, since everyone else is jumping on board, I'll go, just so I can check out this club. I've never been." Dean finally spoke up.
Bella looked over at him, nodding. It would be fun with all of them there, but she was still worried. They were leaving to go have fun in the middle of a crisis. Even if they couldn't do anything right this moment, she felt like she should be trying to do something, anything. She would use this opportunity to talk more with Magnus. She needed to know more, and understand more. He was a part in her being placed with Charlie and Renee, and he knew Jocelyn. He would have more answers.
When nighttime came, Bella was ready to head out, Clary too. They couldn't wear Shadowhunter gear out necessarily, so they wore some club dresses. Alec helped her with a cloaking rune to make her runes that she did have on her body now, invisible to those around her, which she activated now. She applied some light makeup, and she looked herself over in mirror. Her dress was tight, hugging against her curves, and was black and it sparkled slightly. The hem of the dress hit mid-thigh, and if she bent over, you would quite possibly see up her dress. She pulled on her flats, because she didn't want to have to run completely barefoot if she needed to run for any reason. She grabbed her phone, wallet, and the stele and put them in a black clutch she borrowed from Izzy, and then she left her room, and headed to command. She ran into Alec, and he steadied her.
"Oh sorry," Bella muttered.
Alec looked her over, and he had to remember where he was, and who she was. "Oh, it's okay. You ready?"
Bella nodded. "I am. I'll keep my head on a swivel, and make sure things don't get out of control. Clary is really the partier, I'm not really that into the drinking scene so much." She said with a small laugh. She reached her hand up and brushed her hair behind one ear, and looked up at Alec.
He stared at her, just taking in how beautiful she actually was, and it confused him inside, and so he just nodded, swallowing, and averting his eyes. "Well, be careful, and I'll be here in command if you need anything. Have fun." He said and then he walked around her, down the hallway, and disappeared.
Bella sighed, and then headed towards command. Clary was ready, waiting on her, wearing a tight blue dress, and Izzy was ready, her tight black dress like Bella's, but Izzy had longer hair, braided, down her back, and she looked really hot. Jace was dressed normal, dark clothing, and it looked strange to her, to see him in clothing that wasn't Shadowhunter. "Alright. Clary, just until after the bands play and we see if Simon won, and then straight back."
"Got it." Clary said with a nod. They all loaded up on the elevator, going down. Elena was tagging along too, and she looked hot as well. Caroline was staying at the Institute to rest up more and she didn't feel like leaving, which was fine.
Dean was still no where to be seen, so Bella went ahead and left, because if they waited any longer, they would be late to the show.
[Pandemonium]
Bella and Clary went to the bouncer, and smiled. "Hey Chester." Bella said and he smiled at her.
"Ah, Bella, Clary, it's been a few days since I've seen your beautiful faces." Chester spoke and looked behind them. "They all with you?"
"They are. Chester, this is Jace, Izzy, Elena, Jeremy, and that's Damon, walking up." Bella said with a smile.
Magnus walked over. "Ah, you've all arrived. "Chester, they're VIP." He said and looked at Bella. "You're missing one."
"Ah, Dean. He might be late." Damon announced with a grin.
Magnus nodded. "Ah, a burlier looking guy, wears a lot of plaid. He's VIP too if you see him." He said and patted Chester on the shoulder.
"Sure thing. Enjoy." Chester said and winked at Bella.
Once inside, the music was loud and the DJ was playing some good grinding music, but Bella wasn't focused on that right now. She looked around for Simon, but figured he was still getting ready for the competition. She went to the bar and leaned on it, smiling at Lucas. "Hey Lu, just a water with a lime please."
"Ah. The beautiful Bella. Are you sober driving tonight?" Lu teased as he fixed her the water.
"Not exactly. Laying off the booze for a while. So is Clary, it was a pact we made." Bella said with a wink.
Clary pouted. "One drink won't kill me."
"She's got a point." Lu said with a grin.
"One drink." Bella said, smiling, and shaking her head.
The music faded and then a guy got up on stage, he was tatted all over, and he looked like a real Rockstar. "Hello Pandemonium!" The crowd cheered. "I'm your MC for the night, Rudolph, and we're going to start this Battle of the Bands!" The crowd cheered more. "We have six bands to play for you guys tonight, and it's up to you all to choose the winner." Rudolph took a note card out of his back pocket. "We have Tainted Darkness up against Chiseled Perfect!" He announced and then two bands took the stage that was set up and ready.
Bella didn't pay much attention to the first two bands because it wasn't what she was here for. She sat at one of the high top and listened as the two bands battled. She took a drink of her drink and looked up at Simon, who looked panicked. "What's wrong?"
"Maia. Her voice is shot." Simon said quickly.
"Oh no. What happened?" Bella asked.
"We've been practicing more, and she was okay, until like an hour ago." Simon said. "Please."
Bella blinked. "Wait. Simon, I've only sung with you guys for fun. I've never sung in front of a bunch of people." She was standing now, and his hand was clasped over hers and he pulled her backstage.
"Please, we're doing one song, and your voice is amazing, and you're the only one here that I know that knows the song." Simon explained.
Maia frowned, and looked pitiful. "I'm sorry." Her voice rasped.
"Oh Maia. It's okay." Bella said and then blew out a breath. "When do we go up?"
"We're last against Polar Opposites." Caleb, the bass player spoke.
"Oh boy." Bella felt a little nervous. She closed her eyes. "We're doing Creep, right?"
Simon nodded. "Yeah."
The next set of bands went up there and Bella felt a little more nervous, and Simon could tell. "Bells." Simon placed his hands on her shoulders, looking at her straight in the eyes. His dark eyes were calm. "It's going to be okay. Just look at me the whole time. Okay?" He said and she nodded.
A few moments later, Rock Steady Panda and Polar Opposites got up on stage.
Jace looked up to the stage and saw Bella, he had noticed her being tugged to the back by a guy, that she seemed to know, and figured it was this Simon that they spoke of.
Polar Opposites went first, and they were good, and then it was time for Rock Steady Panda. Simon and Caleb started playing, and then Bella stepped up to the mic and looked at Simon, focusing on him as she sucked in the air to start.
"When you were here before…" Bella's voice echoed out. The cover was done slow, and it showcased the vocals on the song and not so much all the crazy runs someone can do on a guitar. "Couldn't look you in the eye…. you're just like an angel…." Simon's voice came in and meshed with hers as they sung. "Just like an angel…."
"Your skin makes me cry. You float like a featherrrr…" Bella and Simon just watched each other as they sung. The song was so simple, so melodic as their voices melted together perfectly. "In a beautifullll worlddd." Then Bella's voice broke away from Simon's as her hand slid up to the mic. "I wish I was special…you're so fucking speciallllll." Bella cut her eyes away from Simon's briefly, looking out to the crowd, that were just standing, listening, feeling the song as they sung.
"But I'm a creeeepppppp. I'm a weirdo. What the hell am I doin' here? I don't belong here." Bella sung and then Simon joined her again. "I don't care if it hurts…. I wanna have control. I want a perfect body; I want a perfect soul…." Bella felt engulfed in the song, the music washing over her as the song built with her. "I want you to notice, when I'm not around….so fuckin' special, I wish I was special…."
Bella and Simon stared at each other. "But I'm a creeeppp, I'm a weirdo…what the hell am I doin' here? I don't belong here. "
"Whatever makes you happy, whatever you want…you're sooooooo fuckin' special, I wish…I was speciallll…"
"But I'm a creep…I'm a weirdo…." Bella looked out to the crowd. "What the hell am I doin' here…. I don't belong here…" Bella's voice echoed with Simon's beautifully.
Then all of Pandemonium erupted in cheers. It was louder than all the other cheers for the other bands.
The MC got back on the stage and the crowd still cheered. "Alright, alright. It seems like Rock Steady Panda took that win!" And the crowd cheered more. Two other bands got up on stage. "Okay, okay. Give it up for Tainted Darkness," He paused, listen to the crowd. "How about Down Under?" He paused again. "And Rock Steady Panda?" The crowd erupted. The MC grinned wide. "We have a clear winner folks." He said and then the other two bands exited the stage, and the MC grabbed a certificate and a trophy.
"Did we just win?" Bella asked, looking at Simon, dumbfounded, as the crowd cheered around them.
"We did!" Simon exclaimed, and then they were all hugging, and the MC handed Simon the trophy and Caleb the certificate.
Backstage Simon was so excited. "Oh my god, Bella, this is big! We're going to be on the radio! I can't believe this, this is just amazing!" He was wired.
Bella was laughing at him. "Oh, I can't wait to hear your voice on the radio Simon. Seriously, you did amazing."
"It was all you. You voice…" Simon took a breath and just grinned. "You're perfect." He said, staring at her.
"Bella!" Clary exclaimed, rushing her and hugging her. "That was amazing!"
Bella smiled, and then she looked up to Jace walked her way. "Thanks, it was last minute," she said with a laugh.
Jace was grinning at her. "I didn't know you could sing." He commented.
"Hmm. Well, I don't really sing often." Bella explained. Clary moved on to Simon, hugging him, and congratulating him.
"Is there anything you can't do?" Jace poked at her, smiling at her and then Dean appeared.
"Damn good job. That was amazing. I'm glad I made it in time to witness that." Dean commented.
Bella smiled over at him. "Well, I don't do this often, so…"
Simon came up, slinging an arm over her shoulders. "She's amazing. Don't let her undersell herself." He said with a wide grin and then turned her to face him. "Seriously Bells…you…you are amazing, and I can't thank you enough for stepping in for Maia, and I just….I…" He was missing his friend. He was used to seeing her almost everyday, but the past few days, her and Clary had been scarce.
Magnus was on the scene now, stealing Bella away from Simon and then planted a kiss on her square on the mouth, which had Bella laughing. Magnus hugged her and swung her around in a small circle. "Ah, biscuit, you were fantastic." He exclaimed.
Bella's smile was something Jace nor Dean had seen much of since her arrival at the institute, but seeing her like this, touched Jace, but also it saddened him. She was taken away from this life. Magnus set her down, and she turned at and looked at Jace. "Where's the others?"
"They are dancing." Jace said. "You should get some dancing in before we have to head out."
"What? Bella you have to leave soon?" Simon asked with a frown.
Bella turned and looked at Simon. "Yeah…work stuff Simon. I'm sorry."
"I thought your job at the paper was flexible." Simon hated that she was MIA the past few days.
"It….it's a tough one. I'm the editor, and I just. I have so much work Simon…I'm sorry." Bella looked at his disappointed face. "But I'm going to dance for a little bit." She offered a smile. "I won't leave without seeing you again. I promise."
Simon nodded and looked over at Caleb. "We have to load the equipment in the van. Go have some fun." He offered a smile back.
Bella followed Clary and the others out to dance floor, where music was loud, and bumping. Clary and Bella danced together, and they were joined by Izzy and Elena, which just made it even more fun. The guys stood off, awkwardly watching the girls dance. Another grind song came on, and Izzy and Bella were dancing close together, with Elena and Clary dancing close together. This is how they kept guys off them on the dancefloor in the event they weren't in the mood to dance with someone.
"Damn." Dean said, muttering as he watched Bella move her body expertly to the music.
"What?" Damon asked as he stood next to him, watching Clary dance.
Dean shook his head. "It should be illegal for them to move like that."
Damon made a hmph sound. "I say we join them."
Jace raised a brow as he crossed his arms. "Well, I'd say I would agree, but we are professionals. They're our comrades." He stressed this mostly, for Dean's sake.
Dean sighed. "Well, you're more professional than me. But I get your point Wayland." He said and then he went to the bar. When he got there a woman started hitting on him. She was attractive.
"Hey there. Care to dance?" She asked, her voice a little husky. She was looking for some different kind of action.
Dean smiled at her. "Sorry, I don't dance." He said and looked at Lucas. "Can I get a beer. Coors." He said, and Lucas nodded, grabbing a beer and handing it to him. "Thanks man." He said with a nod, and took a drink.
The woman was nearly purring. She had pretty blonde hair, her boobs were nearly popping out of her dress, and her eyes were a doe brown, which made him think her hair wasn't naturally that blonde. "What if it's not the kind of dancing you're thinking of?"
Dean raised a brow. "Oh? What sort of dancing are you talking about?"
"Come with me." She winked, and took his hand.
Dean shrugged, drinking down his beer and setting it back on the bar, and followed her.
Jace shook his head as he watched Dean disappear with the woman from the bar. "He is going to regret that one later."
"Is that a normal thing with him?" Damon asked.
"Yeah, he's…been around." Jace tried to phrase it in a nicer way.
"And you haven't?" Damon smiled. "I've heard the stories of Jace Wayland."
Jace smiled. "Well, I'm not going to deny some of the things I've done. But I don't break women's hearts."
"Are you sure about that?" Damon asked, his mouth turned up in a slight grin.
Bella glanced up to see Dean moving through the crowd, following a blonde. She didn't know why she paid attention to it, or why she cared, but it made her feel weird. She brushed it off, and then turned, coming face to face with Alaric. "You joining?"
"Hmm. No. But I'm going to pretend, to get over there." Alaric nodded, towards Jeremy, who was getting to handsy with a girl.
Bella smiled, she moved when Alaric moved, they turned, until Alaric was closer to Jeremy. Alaric winked at Bella, and then he turned his attention on Jeremy. She felt a little dizzy all of a sudden, and her head hurt, so she walked off the dance floor towards one of the high-top tables to the side. She pressed a hand to her head briefly. Jace and Damon took notice of her sudden change, and started weaving over towards her.
Bella…you're in danger…you all need to leave. The voice was clear in her head, and she scanned the room. "I don't understand." She murmured. Backstage…there are demons. "Are you sure?" She asked the voice. Yes.
Bella moved towards the back, not aware that Damon and Jace were currently trying to meet up with her. "How many?" Twelve. "That many?" She was concerned. "Where's Magnus?" At the bar. Keep going. She made it to the back, looking around. Suddenly, something whizzed past her head, and it was a tentacle spike looking thing. She turned, dodging another blow, and then she looked around for something that she could use to help defend herself. She picked up a mic stand, and used it like it was a staff, swinging it around. It was hard to move in a dress that was fitted to her body, like it was an extra skin. To your right. The voice spoke again, and she deflected another attack from a second demon. "Can you tell me how to get rid of these things before I'm backed into a corner?" She asked the voice. Use this rune. An image flashed into her head, and she nodded, turning and flipping, her foot connecting with the head of one demon as she quickly inscribed the rune on her hand and flung her hand out, and the demons feel away to dust in front of her.
"Okay…a decay rune. That's nice. Where are the other demons?" Bella asked the voice. Dean. "And, where is he?" Back room. Bella turned moving through a door, and then halting when he saw Dean. He was balls deep in the blonde from earlier. "Okay. Well, this is awkward, but we are working now."
Dean stopped, obvious startled by the interruption, and that it was Bella. But he pulled away from the girl, zipping his pants back. The girl started to protest, and Dean stopped her. "Don't talk." He said, and looked to Bella. "How many?"
"Ten."
"That many?" Dean was surprised and looked around. "I don't see any."
Bella was a bit frustrated. "Okay voice, you said Dean. So, I'm going to need you to tell me where to next?" She spoke, and Dean looked at her confused. She held up a hand. Go out the back. Alleyway. She nodded, and looked at Dean. "Back alley." She said and moved through the room, and pushed open the door, and the door hit into a demon. She moved fluidly, her body dodging as a demon flung itself at her. "Same rune?" She asked.
"What?" Dean asked as he pulled short daggers from the inside of his jacket he was wearing.
"I'm not talking to you." Bella said gritting her teeth as she avoided another attack. Yes. Decay rune. The voice spoke. Bella inscribed the rune quickly on her hand, and she flung her hand out in front of her, and three more demons turned into dust.
Dean looked at Bella, looking around him. "What the fuck?"
"I don't have time to explain. There are still seven here." She said and looked around. Magnus seemed to appear suddenly. "In the club. There are more descending. I've activated safety precautions. Some of the patrons are downworlders. We're getting the other patrons out safely." He handed Bella a staff. "Clary is with Simon. He's freaking out."
"What, why?" Bella asked.
"Because a demon just killed Caleb in front of him. The demons aren't cloaking themselves to humans anymore." Magnus spoke fast. "Go and help. I'll put up wards around the club to help expel the rest."
Bella nodded and her and Dean went back into the club. There was a bit of panic ensuing, that wasn't there just moments ago. Jace finally caught up to her. His hands framed her face suddenly.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
Bella nodded. "Yes, I'm fine. We need to get the patrons out of here. Have Jeremy and Elena work with Alaric to get them out of the club. I'm going to sweep through. Tell Clary to use the decay rune."
"Decay rune? There's not a- "
"It only works for me and Clary. She'll understand." Bella said, which she was hopeful that her sister understood.
Jace nodded. "Be careful." He said and then he was gone.
Bella looked at Dean. "You okay?"
"Yeah, I'm just…you never cease to amaze me." He said, blowing out a breath.
Bella just nodded, and then looked around, spotting a demon fighting one of the downworlders that was there at the club. They were a fledgling warlock from the looks of it because they were using magic. She didn't hesitate, inscribing the rune, and the demon fell to dust. The warlock, Sendy, was her name, looked up at Bella with gratitude. "Go help Magnus with wards." She ordered and Sendy was blinking away with a nod.
"Bella!" Damon called over to her, but it only distracted her, and a demon scratched her, the gash in her arm bleeding now, but she dodged the second attack, and Dean stepped in, taking a blade through him.
Dean whirled to look at her. "Are you-"
"I'm fine." She bit out, and kept moving. The pain hadn't registered yet, and she just turned her back on Dean and Damon jogged over to her. Demons retreated, and the chaos was dying down.
"Let me see." Damon said, his hand gripped her arm and he looked at the gash. "Hold still." He said and then took his stele out of his pocket. He drew a healing rune on her collarbone, right above her left breast. He activated it and the gash in her arm started to heal.
"Bella! You're hurt." Clary said as her and Simon approached.
Bella shook her head. "I'm fine. It's not that bad." She said and looked up at Damon, who was staring at her intently. "Thank you, Damon." She said and he only nodded.
Simon was wide eyes, his hand brushed through his hair and he looked around, but seeing Bella, kicking ass, and doing it without hesitating, just made him feel…safer with everything that was going on. He stepped forward and then just pulled Bella into a hug.
Bella blinked a few times, confused at first, but then she hugged him back. "I'm sorry Simon…"
"You're okay." Simon murmured, and then he leaned back and framed her face with his hands. "You're okay."
"Of course, I'm okay." Bella said with a small smile.
Simon just leaned his forehead to hers. "You're a badass. I always knew you were."
"Hmm. Well, right now, I have to keep working. Simon, I- "
"He needs to come with us." Jace interrupted as he jogged over. "Magnus has the place warded with the help of a few other warlocks, but we need to get back to the institute. Report to Alec." Jace said and looked to Simon. "He's witnessed a lot."
"What about the others?" Clary asked. "They saw a lot too."
Jace nodded. "The other patrons have been taken care of. Other warlocks are helping suppress their memories of tonight."
"I don't want them to do that to me." Simon said, frowning. "I don't want to forget any of this."
"Simon…it's a world that you shouldn't be apart of," Bella said softly.
Simon shook his head. "No. I finally understand why my two best friends have been MIA, and I don't want to lose you. Clary said this was the last night you guys were going to see me. I can't…Bella, I can't."
"We'll figure it out later." Jace said. "For now, we return to the institute."
Bella nodded and then raised her hand, inscribing the portal rune in the air with her finger, and then thrust her hand forward and a portal spun out, opening for the group. Simon stared, in obvious shock. "Okay, let's move." She said, and everyone went through the portal. Clary had to force Simon through the portal because he was still stunned.
Magnus looked over at Bella, seeing her portal opened, and he smiled as he walked over to her. "Hmm. You are quite the non warlock." He winked at her and stepped through the portal. Dean was the last one to go through the portal. He stopped, looking at her.
"Can we talk?"
"Later." Bella said simply. "We have work to do. Go on." She said, and when Dean went through, she went through last. The portal closed behind her and they were back at the Institute.
