Chapter 6 Welcome to Republic City

It has been three years since Sean returned from Avalar to the South Pole and back with his family. And of course since Sean killed Ares and absorbed his powers to make sure they did not cause chaos in the world.

During the three years both Sean and Korra had trained every day together with Sean trying to master his god powers in the event the Gods came after him again. Strangely enough they never did come after him.

The White Lotus suspected they were waiting for the right moment to strike and helped him train even more serious when he wasn't at Avalar training with his friends.

Every couple weeks Sean would go back and train for a few days before coming back to the South to train under the White Lotus.

Last year however Sokka had passed away peacefully in his sleep much to Katara's sadness seeing her brother gone just like Aang.

In his will he had left Sean his Space Sword which he placed on his back adding to his Arsenal. Now having the Axe, The Blades of Chaos, Ares's sword and the Space Sword now. All of which he trained with in order to use when fighting gods that came after him.

Right now Sean leaned against a wall as Korra was sparing against firebenders to pass her firebending test before moving on to Airbending.

Even though Sean came back she still took her training serious in order to be helpful when he battled against other gods or those they would send after him.

Another thing would be Korra had started to have feeling for Sean since he returned since they had gotten older. At first she brushed those off since she was just happy to have her best friend back but as the years went by she realized she did have romantic feelings for him but hadn't said anything since she didn't know what to say.

Sean chuckled as she blasted the last one up on the roof.

"Girl doesn't hold back does she?" Dojo said around Sean's neck.

"Nope. Then again thats a good thing depending on the situation." Sean said.

"Whoo-Hoo!" Korra cheered while the White Lotus frowned.

"Uh oh." Sean said as she ran to them.

"Hey, why all the doom and gloom, people? We should be celebrating. Three elements down, one to go." Korra said.

"Your getting ahead of yourself as usual, Korra. We haven't decided if you passed your firebending test yet." Her firebending instructor said.

"Ever since you were a little girl, you've excelled at the physical side of bending but completely ignored the spiritual side. The Avatar must master both. Same with Sean if he is to have a good chance against the gods now that we know he's the god slayer." The Leader of the White Lotus said as Sean put his hands on Korra's shoulders.

"Come on now. No Avatar is perfect. She just has more difficulties with it. She'll get it in time." Sean said making her smile.

"Do you believe she's ready, master Katara?"

"Yes. If anyone can teach her what she needs to learn, it's Tenzin." Katara said.

"Very well, Korra. It's time for you to begin your airbending training."

"YES! Finally!" Korra cheered before seeing their looks while Katara smiled.

"Real smooth." Sean teased making her frown before punching him in the shoulder making him laugh. "That doesn't work on me anymore!" Sean laughed as they left.

Soon the two arrived at the kennels.

"Naga, you should have seen it." Korra said as she sat up before walking to her. "I kicked some firebender. butt, and I passed. Tenzin will be here in a few days." Korra said as Naga licked her making her giggle.

"Don't let it go to your head. You haven't even once managed to do airbending despite doing the other three so easily." Sean said making her grin.

"More wisdom from the son of Athena?" Korra teased making him chuckle.

"She's got you there kid." Dojo said.

"Oh shut up." Sean said

Soon the two were at a cliff looking at the ocean.

"Excited?" Sean asked Korra who smirks.

"Like you wouldn't believe." Korra said. "So how come they haven't come after you again?" Korra asked.

"The best guess is they're planning something. They need to plan out everything carefully or risk losing another like they did Ares. Still pissed your damn uncle sent him." Sean said. (Sora you can't seriously tell me your defending Unalaq from what Sean said about his wife. The guy deserves it. Are you saying he can talk shit but Sean can't? And think your answer carefully)

"I know the feeling." Korra said before leaning on his shoulder making him smile as they enjoyed the peace and quiet.

Days later

Sean and Korra next to Katara watched as Tenzin's Sky Bison arrived.

"It's been a long time since we've seen Tenzin." Sean said before Tenzin and his children got off but Sean and Korra snickered seeing Meelo pulling Tenzin's ears.

"We weren't like that as kids were we?" Korra asked.

"Nope." Sean said.

"Mother please...Help." Tenzin begged making her laugh as she took her grandson.

"UNHAND ME STRANGE WOMAN!" Meelo yelled struggling.

"Thats your grandmother Meelo." Tenzin said as he jumped out of her arms before landing right in front of Sean and Korra before he looked at the later.

"What are you looking at little man?" Sean asked.

"Your Huge!" Meelo yelled making Korra snicker while he rolled his eyes.

"He gets points for facts." Dojo said.

"Who's the ugly Gecko?" Meelo asked making his eyes widen.

"GECKO!" Dojo yelled insulted before turning big shocking him before getting in his face. "Don't EVER call me a Gecko!" Dojo yelled making him shrink.

"MOMMY!" Meelo yelled running off making Sean and Korra burst out laughing.

"I hate being called that!" Dojo yelled shrinking.

Tenzin was helping his wife down from his Bison and they saw she was pregnant for a fourth time.

"I'm not helpless. Just Pregnant." Pema said before Katara placed her hand on her large stomach.

"The baby's strong. I sense another airbender in your future making her sigh.

"All I want is one child like me, A nice, non-bender who doesn't blast wind in my face every five seconds." Pema said.

"Yeah thats not gonna happen." Korra said making Sean chuckle

"Mommy, look. I'm a snow bender!" Meelo said airbending the snow getting some on her before she shook it off.

"Were Tenzin and his siblings this crazy when they were kids?" Pema asked.

"Kya and Bumi certainly were. But Tenzin has always been rather serious." Katara said remembering his childhood.

"Mother...Please." Tenzin said before spotting the two. "Korra? Sean?" Tenzin asked before they walked to him. "Look at you two. Both so big and strong. You've turned into quit the young Avatar Korra. And Sean you've taken your training very serious." Tenzin said making him grin.

"Master Tenzin, I'm so excited you're here. I can't wait to get started." Korra said.

"Yes, well..." Tenzin trailed off.

"What is it?" Sean asked.

"Your gonna have to tell her eventually." Pema said.

"Tell me what?" Korra asked.

"You're not staying are you?" Katara asked saddened as he sighed.

"I'm afraid not. We're only staying for the night. Then I have to return to Republic city." Tenzin said.

"But, no, You were supposed to move here. You're supposed to teach me." Korra said.

"I'm sorry, Korra. Your airbending training is going to have to wait." Tenzin said.

Later

Everyone was at the table eating.

"So how long until you're ready to teach me airbending? A week? A month?" Korra asked.

"It could be much longer." Tenzin said.

"I don't understand. Why are you making me wait?" Korra asked.

"I have a responsibility to Republic City. I'm one of its leaders. The Situation there is very unstable at the moment since my father passed." Tenzin said.

"But you also have a responsibility to train Korra since you're the only airbending Master left since he also passed. You can't just put it off. Granted this is Sozin's fault him being a worthless war mongering dumbass." Sean said having major hatred for the man who started the hundred year war for selfish reasons claiming he cared about his people.

"I know and believe me I don't want to put it off but I can't just up and leave when things are as they are now." Tenzin said.

"So...Just take us with you. You can train me in Republic City and still do your job. It's perfect." Korra said making Sean nod.

"Absolutely not! The city is far too dangerous. Avatar Aang tasked us with keeping you safe while you mastered the four elements. And the other Gods will take advantage of him being in new territory." The Leader of the Lotus said.

"They haven't done anything in three years since my uncle sent Ares. They've had plenty of chances. Besides he can keep me safe from some low lives." Korra said.

"I'm sorry but right now is not a good time." Tenzin said.

Korra was about to say more when Sean stopped her.

"Why don't we go outside." Sean said as they left.

"It's not fair. They can't just put this off. How am I Supposed to be a Good Avatar if I'm stuck here?" Korra asked.

"I don't disagree but at the same time I understand his reasons. You want him to just drop everything when things are bad at home and just train you when he could be doing more?" Sean asked.

"Course not. But idea was perfect." Korra said.

"I know." Sean said.

Later Tenzin and his family had left.

Korra and Sean on Naga saw them leave before Korra narrowed her eyes.

"I'm not staying." Korra said making him smirk.

"I kinda figured as much." Sean said making her smile

Later

Sean and Korra were at Naga's kennel getting her gear.

"Remember we got to be quiet." Sean said.

"I am not stupid." Korra said grinning.

"Says the girl who 13 years ago went out into a giant storm." Sean said making her giggle.

"Nice night for an escape, isn't it?" Katara asked making Korra freeze before they turned seeing a smiling Katara.

"I have to leave. I have to find my own path as the Avatar." Korra said making her nod.

"I know you do." Katara said making her smile. "Aang's time has passed. My brother is now gone along with many of my friends from my time. It's time for you and your generation to take on the responsibility of keeping peace and balance in the world and restoring order from the corruption the gods have brought. And I think you're gonna be a great Avatar." Katara said before hugging Korra.

"Thank you." Korra said making Sean smile.

"Good-bye, Korra." Katara said.

Soon the two left the compound with Naga before stopping at Korra's parents house.

"Mom, Dad. I'll miss you." Korra said.

"We love you both so much." Senna said hugging them.

"Don't worry we'll be fine." Sean said as they left.

Sean and Korra were on a large ship heading to Republic City.

Korra laid her head on Sean's shoulder sleeping as they rested against Naga making him smile.

"Ah young love." Dojo said.

"Do you want me to turn you into Jade?" Sean asked annoyed.

"Totally worth it." Dojo said making him roll his eyes.

Next morning

Sean stretched as he woke up.

"Ah. I hate sleeping on ships." Sean said as the doors opened up as Korra woke up with a yawn before seeing they were here.

"We're here!" Korra said as they got on Naga and rushed past some workers. "Thanks for the Ride!" Korra said.

"Oh sure. Do make us look like actual stowaways and get arrested." Sean said making her laugh as they explored.

"Wow. Look at this place." Korra said amazed.

"I'm actually impressed." Sean said seeing the airships.

"I've never seen so many Sato-Mobiles." Korra said in awe.

"Korra." Sean said looking forward seeing Aang's statue right next to Airtemple island.

"Thats where Tenzin lives. You ready for a little swim, girl?" Korra asked Naga before she sniffed the air and bolted. "Okay, okay! Food first, than Air temple...WATCH IT, NAGA! LOOK OUT!" Korra yelled as they ran past some cars before into a crowd of people.

"Uh I just now realized something. Did we bring any money for food?" Sean asked making her stop.

"Oh crap." Korra said annoyed.

"I think I know where we can get some grub." Dojo said pointing at a pond in a park.

"Nice work Dojo." Korra said as they went in.

Korra had gotten them some fish while Naga got her own food in the pond.

"Delicious." Dojo said heating his up.

"All you do is eat." Sean said taking a bite out of his.

"Hey I was in Jade for a thousand years. That alone gave me a huge appetite to fill." Dojo said making Korra laugh before someone came out of the bushes making her gasp in surprise.

"Say can I have one of them fishies?" He asked.

"Oh, uh, Yeah, Sure." Korra said before he took one. "So...Do you live in that bush?" Korra asked.

"Not everyone lives the life of Luxury, Korra. There are a lot of people who are less fortunate." Sean said.

"Ah It's nothing to worry about." He said before a whistle went off making them look seeing an officer.

"HEY! YOU CAN'T FISH HERE!"

"And we're out!" Dojo yelled as they got and Naga and ran off.

"Well, that last part was annoying." Korra said.

"Yup." Sean said before they found a crowd of people.

"Are you tired. of living under the tyranny of benders? Then join the Equalists. For too long, the bending elite of this city have forced non-benders to live as lower-class citizens. Join Amon, and together we will tear down the bending establishment." The Peasant said. (Thing is this guy is just desperate for attention is all)

"Oh great." Sean said.

"What are you talking about? Bending is the greatest thing in the world." Korra said.

"Oh yeah? Let me guess you two are benders?" The Peasant asked.

"I am but he's not." Korra said as Sean got off and approached him.

"Let me guess? She's forcing you to serve her?" The Peasant asked before Sean took out his Space sword before slashing a few times real fast.

The end result?

The Peasant's clothes were shredded leaving him in pink hearted boxers making him yell in shock while everyone laughed.

"Nope. Just her best friend. NOW FUCK OFF!" Sean yelled throwing the table with him on it into the air making him scream in shock as he landed in the water.

After that Sean and Korra with Naga were back in the city.

"I think we're lost." Korra said.

"Great." Sean said before they spotted some punks harassing a store owner.

"Give us the money or else..."

"Or else what?" Sean asked making them turn and saw the two before laughing at them.

"Since you're both clearly fresh off the boat, Let me explain a couple things. You're in triple threat triad territory, and we're about to put you in the hospital." The Leader said before Sean's axe flew right into his face killing him shocking the other two while Korra widened her eyes in surprise.

"You asked for it." Sean said launching chains at their necks wrapping around them as they struggled to breathe before they snapped and fell dead.

"I know Chiron taught you to do what was needed when you trained with him but even still that was brutal." Korra said.

"Sorry. I can't stand punks like them." Sean said before metal wires wrapped around them making them look seeing the police.

"You two are under arrest."

"Ah fuck." Sean said.

Later

Sean and Korra were in separate rooms for questioning.

Sean however was placed Toph's daughter Lin who was glaring at him.

"Clearly you're nothing but trouble for my city and the rest of the world." Lin said.

"Oh great here we go. Let me guess you see me as a threat to the NATURAL order?" Sean said.

"I don't care about natural order. I care about keeping my city safe and you are nothing but trouble. And considering you just killed three people I got more than enough to put you on the death penalty. I don't care about the rest of the world. If getting rid of you keeps Republic City safe thats fine by me." Lin said.

"Ok." Sean said standing up and broke his restraints.

"SIT DOWN!" Lin yelled.

"Fuck off. You are one selfish bitch. I don't like what I am but I will stop the gods and restore order. And you would take that away from everyone. How someone like you is related to Toph Beifong is beyond me." Sean said making her seethe in rage.

"Thats enough Lin." Tenzin said walking in.

"Get him out of my city." Lin said before spat at her.

"Bitch." Sean said as they left before Korra also free rushed to him.

"Are you ok?" Korra asked.

"Sure. Other than the fact that Toph's daughter wants me dead no different than your uncle." Sean said making her frown.

"I'm sorry about that. I don't know where that came from but clearly she sees you as a danger to the city. But she is right you two shouldn't be here." Tenzin said.

"Don't send us back." Korra said.

"You blatantly disobeyed my wishes and the orders of the White Lotus." Tenzin said.

"Katara agreed with me I should come. She said my destiny is in Republic city." Korra said.

"DON'T BRING MY MOTHER INTO THIS!" Tenzin yelled annoyed with a red face. (Still funny as hell)

"Tenzin you can't keep putting this off. Korra's not gonna be a fully realized Avatar if you keep pushing it away." Sean said.

"We saw a lot of this City today. I understand now why you need to stay. Republic City does need you. But it needs me too." Korra said making him sigh before someone walked in with Naga.

"Is this your polar bear dog miss?" Only for him to get licked by Naga making his hair stand up making Sean and Korra laugh.

Later

The group was on a ferry heading to the docks on Air temple island before Tenzin looked at the statue of his father making him sigh before seeing Sean hold Korra close.

Soon they were at the docks seeing the White Lotus next to a ship making Korra sigh before they walked to them before Tenzin's kids on gliders landed next to them.

Korra!" They yelled before hugging her making her smile.

"Are you staying on the island with us?" Ikki asked.

"No. I'm sorry, Ikki. We have to go." Korra said.

"Aw." Ikki said before they walked to the White Lotus.

"Wait." Tenzin said stopping them. "I have done my best to guide Republic City towards the dream my father had for it. But you are right. It has fallen out of balance since he passed. I thought I should put off your training in order to uphold his legacy, but you are his legacy. You may stay and train airbending here with me." Tenzin said making her smile.

"Yes! Thank you. You're the best." Korra said as the kids cheered before she pulled them and Tenzin into a large hug making Sean chuckle.

Next day

Sean and Korra were in front of a large amount of Reporters.

However he saw Lin glaring at him making him glare back.

"She's seriously pissing me off." Sean said making Tenzin sigh.

"Just ignore her." Tenzin said before something crashed into the crowd making everyone scream in shock.

'Now what?" Sean said rushing to Korra before heavy thumping was heard.

"I don't like that sound." Korra said as the dust settled before someone stood before them.

"Oh no not good." Sean said as a large muscled figure stood before them.

"Hello...Nephew." Hercules said.

"Korra...Get back with Tenzin." Sean said.

"But..." Korra tried to say.

"NOW!" Sean yelled making her rush back. "I don't have any issues with you Hercules." Sean said.

"Oh but I do with you. Your father was always Zeus's favorite." Hercules said.

"Zeus has no favorites since he became corrupted." Sean said making him scoff.

"Think about it Nephew. While I was stuck cleaning the Augean stables he watched over him as a mortal." Hercules said making him raise an eyebrow. "Not convinced? How about this? While he was trained by Ares I was sent to find an Apple. They called them Labors. HA! Perhaps he did allow me to kill the Nemean Lion but his name was known amongst the people. A fierce warrior named the father of the God Slayer. A killer turned lover of Athena. A man responsible for creating...You." Hercules said.

"I didn't ask to be this. That was something I was born with." Sean said.

"Perhaps. But once I kill you I will be crowned the God of war and claim these lands and people as my kingdom." Hercules said before Sean punched him back a few feet making him chuckle. "Hit a Nerve did I?" Hercules mocked before equipping his personal weapons. The Nemean Cestus.

"I had no plans to kill you. I changed my mind." Sean said before pulling out the blades of Chaos.

(Insert Hercules battle music from God of war 3)

Sean was the first to attack swinging his blades at Hercules who dodged before his undead warriors appeared.

"Oh not these things again." Korra said using Firebending on them while Tenzin used airbending to blow them away while Lin used Earthbending.

"I told you that freak was a threat to the City." Lin said.

"Not now Lin." Tenzin said.

Sean charged at Hercules before slamming him into a building making him groan before Sean grabbed his helmet and crushed it making him roar before punching him off.

"When I kill you Zeus will reward me!" Hercules yelled before grabbing a large pieced of the ground and threw it at him only for Sean to pull out his Space sword and slashed it in half having strengthened it with Magic making Hercules roar.

"I'm gonna look forward to adding your weapons to my collection." Sean said as he dashed at Hercules before slashing his chest making him roar in pain and rage before punching him away in the chest.

Sean growled before looking down seeing his armor crumble apart.

"Not again." Sean said annoyed.

Korra launched a fireball at Hercules making him roar before charging at her making her widen her eyes before Sean dashed at him and slammed him into a building before destroying the rest of his armor making him roar in rage before throwing him off.

"ARMOR IS FOR WEAKLINGS!" Hercules roared.

"Then why do you wear it?" Sean mocked making him roar in rage. (Seriously why say something like that? You wear it and yet you claim it's for weaklings. Just dumb)

Hercules tried to slug him but Sean dodged before punching him away before grabbing the left gauntlet that came off just as Hercules attacked him with the other but Sean punched him back again before putting on the other and grins.

"Oooh. I like these." Sean said before charging at Hercules and delivered a series of blows to Hercules making him groan in pain before punching Sean back and grabbed a large chunk of the ground trying to flip it on Sean but he jumped up and slammed his gauntlet on the ground making Hercules drop it making it land on him trapping him before Sean was above him before delivering a series of blows to his face for a full minute before giving a mighty roar and delivered one last blow crushing his head completely.

(End song)

Sighing he fell to his knees before Korra rushed to him.

"You ok?" Korra asked before Hercules's body glowed before Sean absorbed him like Ares.

"Yeah...Just exhausted." Sean said before Metal wires wrapped around his arms.

"Thats it. I'm putting him under Arrest." Lin said before Tenzin cut the wires which shocked her.

"Lin, you are taking this too far. He's the only chance we have against them. They will not stop." Tenzin said.

"I don't care about the rest of the world. I care about keeping the City safe. And if the only way to..." Lin tried to say before Korra punched her down which shocked her and Tenzin.

"Fuck you." Korra said before she helped Sean up as they left to head back to Air temple island to recover.

"We'll finish this later and there will be consequences." Tenzin said leaving with them making her glare.

"Thanks for that." Sean said to Korra who smiled.

Meanwhile

A group of masked people overheard everything on the radio.

"Amon...How do you want to handle this?"

A man in a mask looked at a map of the City.

"So...The Avatar and the god Slayer have arrived early. We'll have to accelerate our plans." Amon said.

Authors Note: And with that the first season begins with a bang. Now unlike the avatar's protector you can expect a lot more action than before. And less of a sad backstory about Sean. Now yes Lin is a royal pain right now but if I make her easy to get along with...Thats royally boring. So for now she's a pain in the ass. Now who's gonna come after Sean next.
