Last chapter from Day 1: It's been a hell of a day for our six, that's for sure!
As always, thank you to my beta, Fran S. Flower, and my pre-readers, Jgaff & DaniDarlingxx.

Our entire kitchen table is absolutely covered in groceries. I'm trying to sort and organize it all, but the boys keep bringing more in. I glance up at them as they bitch about everything we've purchased. They've all called me crazy all day, but I just have this sense. Things are going to get much worse before it gets better.
"Christ, Ali. Did we get enough shit?" Bella complains, carrying in more bags. I glance at her.
"Put that over there," I tell her, pointing to the pile of household goods.
They're all tired. Hell, I am too. We've been to every store within a twenty-mile radius of our house today. But we finally have everything on my list-including toilet paper. We managed two small packs, giving us eight rolls which is fine, but I know we'll have to go out on the hunt again sooner than I would have liked. "You'll all see," I say, pawing through the bags. "I'm right about this."
They grumble, leaving me alone to sort through everything. My phone rings and I frown, glancing down and pulling it out of my pocket. I'm surprised to see it's Edward.
"Hey, what are you doing up so late?" I ask, putting my phone to my ear.
He huffs. "It's only two, Ali," he points out. I roll my eyes as I continue pawing through the bags. "I heard about everything going down. How are you?"
I sigh, shifting the phone to my other ear as I drop the groceries. I head out to the living room to look through my purse as I answer. "All right. We're in a lockdown here as of today. We just got back from the grocery store. We should be covered for a while," I say, finding my headphones. I plug them into my phone and shove the earbuds into my ears, settling my phone back in my pocket. "How about you?"
He hums. "We're not bad. There's not much talk about it up here."
I nod as I focus on the groceries again. I catch up with my big brother as I work on sorting the food and household items. It's good to talk to him; we haven't had a chance to catch up in weeks.
By the time we hang up, I'm exhausted, but the groceries have all been sorted and stored. I wish my brother well after telling me he's planning to stay in Scotland unless there is a drastic change. It's probably for the best; he's likely safer there than anywhere in the US.
I stop to take inventory of what we've gotten. We have a decent amount of dry and canned foods, though I know none of us knows how to cook most of it yet. Still, I'm willing to learn how to make lentils if it means we don't have to go back out into that madness for a while.
When I'm done and hung up with Edward, I join my friends in the living room, flopping down on Jasper's lap.
Even though things are uncertain right now, I'm grateful to at least still have my friends.
Poor kids. Most students I know panicked when the stores ran out of pasta. The most common thing I heard was, "I need pasta! I can't cook anything else!" Sad state of affairs, and I hope those kids figured it out!
Tomorrow is a day off, but check facebook cause I'll be posting teasers and photos for next week's chapters!
