AN: I know, I know, I'm horrible for being a day late. But I am also very tired.
So for now, enjoy.
Coming to stand before Tsunade's desk, Iruka already there going over paperwork with her, Naruto pulled the seal off his bag and pulled out the note and scroll, handing them to the two with a sigh. "I don't know what to do about this," he admitted as Iruka read over the note with Tsunade.
"If this note is real…" Tsunade started, trailing off and looking to Iruka.
"If it's true, then we can string Danzo up by his balls and leave him hanging there," Ibiki stated. He had gotten the rundown of the note from Naruto while they had worked their way through the hallways. "Or even just put into one of my cells after that arm of his is removed."
"Do you guys think that the list could be real?" Naruto asked as he bit at his thumbnail. His face was pulled into a worried expression. "I mean, I know the writing. It's Kabuto's. I can tell you that I've seen enough of his writing from the reports that we have from when he was a genin. At least that's what it looks like," he said. He waved a hand to the note. "The chakra matches up with him too. And if that list is where all of the information about Danzo having a hand in a lot of shit that's been going down since Hiruzen re-took the office…"
"If this is real, it seems that he took great-uncle's vision to the extreme and Hiruzen knew about it. Most don't know but ROOT was supposed to be a backup to the Hunter-Nins. The ones who took the down and dirty missions. Along with sensitive messages between Hokages." Tsunade frowned. "They would have to be trained to be able to turn on and off their emotions during a mission until they could get to a place where they could deal with them," she said. She sat back as she mourned the fact that she didn't have some sake to deal with things. "But if he went the extreme, they don't know emotions and they're perfect little robots."
Iruka sighed as he stood straight. "This just means that he has been trying to get into the Archives between thirty and fifty years," he mused. "I do not doubt that if I look, I'll find an application to become a desk chunin from him." He tapped his fingers on one arm as he stared down at the note with narrow eyes. "So, if we're deciding to believe him…"
"It means that we'll need to contact him in some way," Tsunade stated.
"I'm also thinking that he's also been testing the Archive's defenses. Those times that it seemed as if the person was just seeing what was there instead of trying to get in…?" Naruto suggested. He shrugged. "The break-ins have also lessened to a point since I was moved over to deal with the ANBU Archives. It's only been, what? A week and a half since the last test on the main Archives?" he asked, looking between the three.
"And this would be the first break-in for us," Ibiki grunted. "As far as we know. Our Archives is a mess, but that's not having a proper desk Chunin working for us. The seal he tipped was an old one, one that was there for at least fifteen years," he said. "It's not that hard to not set off either. It's one that needs to be redone anyways so it's not a bad thing."
Tsunade groaned, letting her head drop onto the desk. "This is going to be an absolute political shit storm. If it's Danzo, we're going to have to destroy him utterly. Take over ROOT and figure out who came from where on top of that. And if my hunch is true, teach them the proper way of turning their emotions on and off, along with teaching them emotions, since I doubt that Danzo allowed them any," she listed off, voice muffled by the desk. "I swear if sensei wasn't already dead, he'd wish he was when I got done with him for not dealing with this bastard when he should have. He was always too damn soft when it came to Danzo."
"Didn't they work on the same genin team for a time?" Naruto asked. "I think the records said that he joined Hiruzen's team after his team was killed during a battlefield mission."
Tsunade snorted softly. "Sensei felt sorry for the bastard. And we think that the only reason that Danzo made it from that battle was because he was a damn coward and hid as much as he could instead of helping his team. Like a proper teammate," she said. "The official reason why he and his sensei didn't just fill in the two spots was because his sensei wasn't able to do his job anymore due to a war injury. The unofficial, sealed up and fucked up reason, is because he hid and refused to help until she dragged him out of his hidey-hole and forced him to fight so that they could get out of there. I found that out in her journal and in uncles."
"So not only was he a coward, all he was a warm body that was put on a short leash and pitied on a lie?" Naruto asked. He snorted in disgust and shook his head. "Make his death hurt then. Cowards should never be pitied."
Ibiki snorted. "We'll need to do some spying on him," he mused, looking between the other three. Naruto and Iruka stared at each other, talking without talking, the blond frowning after a moment.
"Well...we have to lay down a new seal array to connect to the wall around the village. It hasn't been updated since just before the old man died and the invasion," Naruto said as he pulled at his ponytail. "Me and Jiraiya are going to do that soon actually. It won't be hard to shift a few things around, just enough to tag his chakra signature no matter where he is in the village. This will include those damn tunnels that he thinks no one knows about. And the caves that are tucked behind the evac points," he offered.
"You said that it won't be that hard to do, right?" Tsunade asked. Naruto nodded.
"I can easily get his chakra impression the next time that he comes to bug you about something or another," Naruto said. "No one can use chakra seals that'll change their signature while they're in the Tower after all. Between the security seals and the ANBU that float around, he hasn't tried since he was a brat himself," he said, smiling at the look he got. "I just need to use the freshest sample that I can for this though."
"That seal is being changed in a week if I'm remembering the schedule right," Iruka said. Naruto nodded. "Knowing Danzo and his schedule, he'll be around in the next two days or so to complain about the fact that you're still a desk chunin. Especially since you have all of those seals that keep your secrets, you can't do half of the things that he wants you to do. More so with that special seal since it's still working," he continued.
Ibiki looked down at Naruto with a cocked eyebrow. "What does this seal do, and do I need to worry about it?" he asked. Naruto looked to Ibiki and Tsunade, getting nods.
"I added another seal over the one that my father used to seal Kurama into me." Naruto shifted as he rubbed at his stomach. "The God Seal was built to allow Kurama's chakra to mingle with mine, which allowed me to draw on it and use it. It's also filtering it and adding it to my chakra stores.
"The thing that he didn't take into account is that my Uzumaki blood is strong. Because of this, my chakra is dense. It can be made to be lighter with a bit of thought, but it's still dense. Not only that but I have Sage Training. I'm actually almost done with said training and once we deal with all of this shit, I need to head back to the toads to finish it," he said. "The new seal that I layered onto it actually filters the Kyuubi chakra before feeding it back to Kurama. I hate to say it, but the world needs the Biju but first their chakra has to be filtered to remove the hatred that was layered into them with the various seals and human emotions."
"Kurama has decided that he'll just chill and let this happen. He's not wanting to escape any time soon," Tsunade drawled, shaking her head with an amused look on her face.
"To move on, we need to add to the security seal to stalk Danzo. Find a way to get a hold of Kabuto. Continue fixing the shit that I'm finding wrong with the ANBU Archives. Try not to hunt down the dickwad who has fucked things up and string him up by minuscule balls before time." Naruto snorted as he crossed his arms. "Yeah, we can do that."
Ibiki snorted and shook his head before patting Naruto on the back, getting a look from the younger male. "Come on. I'll take ya out to lunch before we head back to headquarters to get back to work. We'll let Tsunade here get drunk for the rest of the day so she can hopefully forget about the political clusterfuck about to come her way," he drawled.
Naruto groaned and nodded his head. "That would be nice," he said, leaving the office with Ibiki, leaving Iruka and Tsunade behind in the office.
Tsunade grumbled and looked over at the pile of papers that were still on her desk. "Can you help me go through these pages? I swear that there is more than there needs to be," she said. Iruka shook his head and started to help her shift through the pages. When they had finished it, he left with three large boxes full of stupid things to be burnt and a list of names to send fines for wasting time and paperwork.
"Why do they keep trying?" he groaned as he headed up to the roof and the fire pit that they had installed. "We've fixed that loophole and they know it."
