Part 7: True power of a celestial
After infiltrating Celeste they had only encountered celestials with two colors. But now they were up against a celestial with only one color. He had already taken down three of their team members and now Raymond stood ready to fight.
"Wait," the celestial said sounding surprised.
"Sorry but were leaving," Raymond said as the blue light covered his legs. He then jumped towards the celestial with his right arm being covered in light. Their fists clashed sending out a large blast of air.
Raymond tried to push the celestial back but looked like he was struggling. The other celestial sounded annoyed as he pushed back. "Ahhh," they both yelled before they were both sent flying back from the blast.
"Raymond," Steve said helping him up as the light stopped covering parts of his body.
"I thought you could only use your power if the light covered your whole body," Tony said looking where the celestial had crashed into the wall.
"That wasn't my full power," Raymond said standing back up. "Its something I learned to do a long time ago," he said as he noticed the smoke beginning to clear.
"The only problem is that I cant use all my power unless the light is covering my entire body" he said looking annoyed. They all then watched as he threw away his cloak. Revealing his entire body.
Thor ran at the celestial as lighting converted storm breaker. "Ahh," he yelled slamming it down on the celestial who grabbed his weapon. He sounded like he was struggling to hold it back as he was hit by lightning.
"Go," Thor said looking back at the team.
"Hes right," Tony said handing the case to Rocket. "Take those and get back to the ship now," he said as his helmet covered his face.
"Get Bruce, Nebula and Gamora up to help you through the city," he said before looking at Scott. "Go back them up," he said.
"What but what about the rest of you?" He asked looking confused.
"We need to focus on getting the stones out of here," Rocket said.
"Raymond you go too," Steve said making him look surprised.
"Wait you guys cant take this guy on without me," Raymond said looking annoyed.
"But whats most important is getting you and the stones back," Tony said sounding serious.
"You're the only one who can use the stones without getting hurt," Rocket said before looking at Ant man. "Shrink down and we can get going a lot faster," he said.
"Right," Scott said before his helmet covered his face and he shrank down. He then jumped onto Rockets' jet pack. Rocket then ran over to Bruce who was rubbing his head.
"Come on we gotta get a move on," Rocket said as Bruce stood back up.
Raymond looked annoyed before the blue light covered his legs. "Ill be right back," he said before running at quick speed, getting both Nebula and Gamora back up. The five of them quickly ran towards the stairway where the celestial noticed them.
"No," the celestial said pushing the axe back and aimed his right arm at the group. But then his arm was hit with repulsor blasts and he looked over at iron man.
"Sorry but we cant let you go after them," Steve said standing ready for a fight.
"Do you know how powerful those stones are together," the celestial said clenching his fists.
"I'm sorry but we need them," Steve said before he and Tony joined the fight.
Over in the stairway, "Stop right there," a celestial said. Raymond made a blue light sword in his right hand and hit the celestial. The strike sent him flying back. The celestial then made his own sword and Raymond's clashed with his.
"Stop," another celestial said running towards Raymond. Gamora went to hit him with her sword but the celestial blocked her sword with his right arm.
"We wont let you escape," another one said aiming their arms at the rest of the group.
Bruce ran at him and punched him. The celestial was sent flying into a nearby building. "Uh guys this doesn't look good," he said.
Raymond blocked his opponents sword as he covered both of his arms in blue light. He pushed the celestial back and hit him in his side. Sending him flying into the wall.
"Raymond," Gamora said getting his attention. Gamora pushed the celestial she was facing towards Raymond. Raymond got read of his sword and punched the celestial in the face. Pushing him into the ground and knocking him out.
"Come on," Rocket said as he took out his blaster and shot down the celestials flying towards the building.
"We cant fight our way through all of them," Nebula said looking annoyed.
Raymond then looked at Scott and picked him up. "You said you'd could grow giant remember," he said.
"Oh I see where your getting at," Scott said as he looked towards the sky. "I hope you have a good throwing arm," he said.
"Don't worry I got this," Raymond said before throwing ant man into the air. A few moments later Scott came back down, but this time much bigger.
"Hey guys I can see the," he said before he was hit in the chest with a big energy blast. The team look surprised as Scott used a building to help himself stay standing.
"Scott," said Raymond as the team ran towards their teammate.
"Raymond up there," Rocket said pointing to the roof of a building. Raymond noticed it was the first celestial they saw before getting onto the planet. He was lowering his hands.
"Get to the hangar," Raymond said as the blue light covered his legs. He then jumped towards the celestial and went to punch him.
But the celestial dodged him and flew into the sky. He fired a blast of energy at Raymond who blocked it with his right arm. "I thought you came to see the planets sights," he said landing in front of Raymond.
"Trust me I really like it," said Raymond taking a breath. "But trust me I came here for a really good reason," he said.
"What did you take," he said.
"Trust me I need the stones for something important," Raymond said looking serious.
"The infinity stones, do you have any idea how powerful they are," he said sounding surprised.
"Trust me the reason I need them is because their so powerful," Raymond said sounding determined.
"I cant let you take them," he said jumping towards Raymond who grabbed his fist.
"I'm sorry but ill put them back when I'm done," he said as the two of them began to fight. Over on the ground the rest of the team fought their way through the celestials. Luckily they only had two colors.
"I need to reload," Rocket said putting his weapon down when a celestial pointed his right arm at him.
"Rocket," said Gamora when the celestial fired. But Scott's large right hand blocked the blast.
"I got you," said Scott before he shrank back down.
Raymond looked surprised before looking annoyed. He then looked at the celestial as the blue light almost covered his whole body. "No I cant let him see me at full power," he thought looking serious.
But the celestial noticed the light almost cover his entire body. "What," he said sounding surprised. Raymond took the moment to punch him full force in the stomach.
"Ahh," Raymond said as his right arm shined bright. A massive shockwave went off as the celestial he faced was sent flying into the sky. Raymond then jumped down and began to heal Scotts injury.
"Raymond you okay," Bruce said running over to him.
"Yeah how far are we from the hangar?" Raymond asked as helped Scott back up.
"From what I saw were still a good few minutes away," he said.
"Not good, I'm running low on ammo and even Gamoras starting to look exhausted," he said. They then heard a loud explosion from the main building.
"The others," Bruce said as Raymond clenched his fists.
"Get everyone to hangar," he said as the blue light covered his legs. Before they could say anything Raymond jumped towards the main building.
Over in the main build on the first floor. Thor stood up wielding storm breaker. Steve was trying to get back up and Tony was doing the same. Standing in front of them was now two celestials with one color. The second one was a female with a pink light.
"We don't want to kill you, hand over the stones," she said calmly.
"I'm sorry but we cant," Thor said.
"We need them," Steve said standing back up.
"Then I'm sorry but we can't let you have them," the blue celestial said as they both pointed their hands at the three avengers. Their hands glowed bright as Thor looked at his friends.
"NOOO," Raymond yelled as he jumped in front of Thor as the celestials fired. He pushed his hand against the combined blast.
"I have no choice," he thought as the blue light covered his entire body.
"What," the blue celestial thought.
"Ahhhh," Raymond said before pushing the blast into sky. The light stopped covering his body as he fell to the ground.
"Raymond," Thor said as he stood in front of his friend.
"I'm sorry," Raymond said looking at the two celestials. "I came for the stones because it was the only choice I had," he said. Before the celestials could say anything else another one landed next to the blue one.
"Sir the rest of the intruders have been surrounded," he said. Raymond and the others look surprised.
"No," Raymond thought as the pink celestial looked at him.
"Sweetheart," she said looking at the blue celestial.
After a few moments he spoke up calmly. "Let them go back to their ship," he said.
"Sir," he said sounding confused.
"Everything wil be fine, Ill handle the rest," he said looking at Raymond. "The stones are needed aren't they," he said making Raymond look surprised. Remembering the words from the celestial files.
"Will go on ahead," Thor said as he, Tony and Steve left the building.
"There cant be any record that we were here," Raymond said standing back up.
"I understand, theres a moon not far from here," he said. "Meet me there when your done with the stones," he said.
"Ill bring them back myself," Raymond said turning around.
"Despite everything that happened," the blue celestial said getting Raymonds attention. "I'm happy I was able to meet you," he said.
Raymond looked down with a small smile on his face. "Thank you, I'm happy I was able to see this place," he said before walking out. He then found Thor waiting for for him.
"Lets go my friend, our family's are waiting for us," he said.
"Right, lets go," Raymond said as they started walking back to the hangar. It was time to head home and use the stones to bring everyone back.
