Maggie sat playing with Jubal's fingers as he was on the phone to Tom, Jubal explained to him who Erin was and what was happening and that they wanted to have a place in rehab for her before going to talk to her. Jubal hung up after thanking Tom and telling him that he would check in with him again in a day or two, he turned to face Maggie squeezing her hand gently.
"Tom has a place for Erin in a rehab in Stanford she can go as early as tonight or can wait until tomorrow morning."
Maggie leaned over and kissed Jubal again with so much love as her free hand moved to his cheek again "I really can't say this enough but you are a really good man Jubal, one of the best I have ever met."
Jubal would never stop being surprised at the way that Maggie made him feel with her words, no one had ever spoke to him or looked at him the way that she did. He had no idea how he had got so lucky to have her be the one to look at him and talk to him that way, he was thankful for it every single day. "I will always do what I can to help family baby." He whispered against her lips before stealing one more kiss from her before pulling back "Let's go and talk to Erin."
Maggie nodded as she climbed out of the car and she walked around to meet Jubal who was standing waiting for her and he took her hand in his straight away entangling their fingers as they walked towards Erin's dorm. Maggie was nervous about what they were about to do but she did feel so much better about it having Jubal's support, she wanted him to be by her side in everything that she had to do.
Maggie knocked on Erin's door and it was opened immediately by Erin who was surprised to see them "Mags, Jubal, what are you both doing here?."
Maggie let go of Jubal's hand as she stepped in to Erin's dorm room "Erin I know that you have relapsed, do you have them here in the room?."
Jubal stepped in to the dorm and closed the door behind him so that no one else heard them, he knew that Maggie had been quiet on their walk up here as she was preparing herself for this. This wasn't an easy thing to do and especially not for someone that you loved so much. Maggie started searching Erin's room trying to find the pills.
Erin walked over towards her bed "Maggie I have no idea what you are talking about. I told you I have been trying to make new friends, and have been up studying late, that's it."
Maggie turned to look at Erin "It would be much easier if you just told me where they are Erin." Erin moved close to the jeans laying on her bed and that was a sign to Maggie straight away that was where the pills were. Maggie lifted the jeans checking the pockets and took out a small clear bag with some pills inside.
Erin had moved over to the corner of her room pulling her sleeves down over her hands "It's Aspirin, I had a headache the girl down the hall gave them to me…I messed up….Mags I'm so sorry." She was trying to stop the tears from falling.
Maggie handed the small bag to Jubal and moved across the room gently pulling Erin in to a tight hug. Erin wrapped her arms tight around Maggie as she held on to her older sister letting the tears fall "I have really been trying so hard Mags, it's much harder than I thought it was going to be. Please don't tell mum and dad." Erin was crying harder now.
Maggie ran her hand along Erin's back slowly trying hard to stop her own tears from falling "Erin mum and dad will understand, they love you and so do I. I am here for all it, I'm not going anywhere." She hugged Erin a little tighter before pulling back a little cupping Erins face with her hands "Jubal called a friend and they have gotten you a place in rehab in Stanford so that you will still be close to us. We can take you there tonight, or tomorrow morning if you are ready."
Erin was surprised when she heard Maggie and she looked at Jubal over Maggie's shoulder "Thank you Jubal, really I mean that." She looked at Maggie and she nodded "I want to get help, I'm ready."
Jubal watched Maggie struggle with her emotions and to stop tears from falling, he stepped closer to her and Erin resting his hand on Maggie's lower back "You don't have to thank me Erin you are family. Why don't you pack a bag and you can stay with me and Mags tonight, we will drive you to the rehab in the morning."
"You sure?" Erin sounded a little excited about the idea of getting some time with Maggie and Jubal before having to go to rehab, she really had no idea what she would do without either of them right now.
Maggie had noticed the way that Erin had brightened at the mention of staying with her and Jubal tonight, she really would never stop being surprised by Jubal. He had been watching them and knew exactly what Erin needed and Maggie was trusting his instincts because she would trust him with her life. Maggie ran her hand along Erin's arm slowly.
"We're sure, we can have your favourite takeout tonight anything you want and you can stay with us rather than here on your own and then we will take you tomorrow morning. You want me to help you pack?."
Erin smiled hearing Maggie mentioning getting her favourite takeout and spending the night with them, she had missed her older sister. She shook her head gently when she heard Maggie's offer to help her pack "I can pack but…. Eh can you guys stay here in the room?" She asked a little shyly.
Maggie smiled kissing Erin's head before hugging her tight again "Of course we can, we will wait right here don't worry."
"Well how about we sit on the bed so that we aren't just standing in the middle of Erin's room" Jubal chuckled softly nudging Maggie's shoulder gently before looking at Erin "If that's okay with you Erin?."
Erin did chuckle hearing Jubal "You two do look a little awkward just standing in the middle of my room and I can pack my bag on the desk so you two sitting on the bed would give me a little more room."
"I'm not sure how I feel about you two ganging up against me." Maggie pulled a funny face at them both as she stepped over to the bed sitting down letting her back rest against the wall. She was glad to hear Erin chuckle and smile, it made Maggie relax a little more.
Jubal sat down on the bed beside Maggie and smiled kissing the top of her head when she lay her head on his shoulder, he took one of her hands in his resting them on his thigh "You know I thought that the first dorm that we would be in together would be coming to check out somewhere with Tyler."
Maggie was pretty sure that her heart was going to beat out of her chest when she heard Jubal, to know that he was thinking that far ahead for their future caught her completely off guard. Yes, any time she pictured her future Jubal was a large part of it but to hear him say that about Tyler so calmly made her heart beat that little bit faster. She really would never stop being surprised by how much Jubal loved her and he was showing it now by talking so easily about their future. Maggie squeezed Jubal's hand gently.
"You sure that Tyler will really want two FBI agents checking out his dorm even if one of them is his dad?" She smirked playfully.
Erin had clearly heard Jubal, it's not like he was talking quietly, in fact he was talking like he wanted both of them to hear, but hearing Maggie had Erin chuckling a little as she packed her bag "Just maybe don't show up with your guns and badges it might not be a great start for him." She teased them playfully before turning to face them now that her bag was packed, her smile grew when she saw Maggie sitting with her head on Jubal's shoulder, she noticed Jubal holding Maggie's hand and playing with her fingers and she found herself talking without really thinking first "You know I hope that one day I am lucky enough to find the love that you two have."
Maggie smiled honestly hearing Erin, she was so glad that her family really did love Jubal as it was important to her that they got on well with him as family was important to her and so was Jubal. "Just maybe don't be around that person for five almost six years before you realise what is right in front of you."
Jubal laughed hearing Maggie and he turned his head kissing the top of her head again "Hey at least we got here in the end right? That's what matters."
Erin smiled watching them "You know you two haven't actually told me how you finally started dating after working together for almost six years."
Maggie stood up and held her hand out to playfully pull Jubal up off the bed and she turned to look at Erin "That may not be as an interesting as you are hoping for" she laughed softly "But I will tell you on the way back to our place."
Jubal stepped forward holding his hand out towards Erin "I'll carry your back for you and before you try arguing with me your sister will tell you that I will win." He smirked playfully.
Maggie shook her head laughing resting her hand on Jubal's shoulder as she looked at Erin "Just don't tell anyone about how sweet he is, he doesn't want it ruining his name." She smirked playfully which just made Erin let out a proper laugh as she handed her bag to Jubal. She knew that there was no point arguing with the man, she had witnessed the way that he looked out for and after Maggie, she really was lucky to call him family and she knew her brother, sister and parents felt the same way about him.
Maggie and Jubal stepped outside the room letting Erin check that she had taken everything that she wanted to before she stepped out locking the door behind her. When she locked the door Maggie wrapped her arm around Erins shoulders holding her close to her as they made their way towards Jubals suv with Jubal walking a little behind them to give them some time to talk.
Maggie had stuck to her word and had told Erin the story about how her and Jubal actually ended up going on a first date together. She was glad that she had told Erin the story when she heard Erin laughing so much, telling them both that they really were suited for each other. They climbed out of the car and made their way to Jubal and Maggie's apartment, Erin was still laughing walking beside them "You know good job Jubal at not setting Mags up a date while working with her that night."
Jubal groaned as he opened their apartment door "Your sister said something similar to me before she left work that night. I did not have the intention of setting her up on a date when I asked if she wanted to join me in the conference room to do our paperwork." He sat Erin's bag down and stepped to the side holding the door for her and Maggie to enter the apartment before closing the door behind them.
"This mean that you two want to thank or blame the team for all bailing on paperwork that night?" Erin raised an eyebrow playfully looking at Jubal and Maggie as she took off her coat hanging it up and she laughed when Jubal and Maggie both said 'Thank them' at the same time "See now that really is so sweet and adorable."
Maggie let a proper laugh escape as she looked at Jubal's reaction and shook her head looking at Erin who was looking at them so confused, Maggie kicked off her shoes as she looked at Erin "Jubal would rather not count the number of times that he has been called adorable lately."
"A man could definitely be called worse but could also be called better things" He shook his head laughing as he went to walk towards the kitchen but Maggie grabbing his hand stopped him and he raised an eyebrow looking at her "Everything okay baby?."
"I'm going to go up and shower and change out of these clothes, I need to wash our latest case off me." Maggie was a little shorter than normal now as she had kicked off her shoes so she leaned up kissing Jubal softly "I won't be long."
"I promise that Erin and I won't throw any parties while you are upstairs." He teased her playfully, he knew that Maggie felt a little nervous about leaving Erin.
Erin laughed when she heard Jubal before looking at Maggie "Mags we are good honestly, go and take your time. Maybe we can decide on what takeout to get while you are getting changed."
Maggie smiled looking at Erin "Just tell Jubal where you want to order from and he will know what to order me."
"Knowing your food order no matter the place? See that is really…"
Before Erin could finish speaking Jubal playfully pointed his finger at her "Do not say finish that sentence with adorable or I'll be choosing where we are ordering from." He was joking playfully with her.
Maggie stood watching Jubal and Erin who was now throwing her head back laughing, the fullest laugh that Maggie had heard from her in a long time. Seeing the way that Jubal was with her youngest sister just made her fall in love with him even more, he knew exactly how to help Erin relax and feel comfortable around him. Maggie squeezed his hand gently as she stole one more kiss from him "Try not to fight over the food order please I'm too hungry for how long that would take." Maggie teased playfully as she left heading upstairs to their bedroom to get showered and changed.
